Before I start, I'd like to firstly say that God has been dealing with me about forgiveness.
Many of us struggle with forgiving because of the pain that was caused and the trust issues. Whether it be having trouble forgiving others or even your own self.
Our unforgiveness is unforgiveness, it doesn't matter where it's directed.
Not forgiving someone is like a poison that's slowly taking your life. There is no peace in unforgiveness.

Forgiveness is for oneself.

Forgive, ask for forgiveness, and be forgiven.
Even if people reject it, what truly matters at the end of the day is that you gave the opportunity to yourself and others. Most importantly that in God's eyes, it is made right to HIM. It's not whether or not we or others deserve forgiveness, it's about the grace, mercy, and kindness of God. Romans 3:24
Forgiveness is not an easy road but it's possible with Jesus Matthew 19:26 and its reward is eternal life with God, peace with God, and favor with God through faith in Jesus. John 3:16 and Romans 6:23

Grace is getting something good that we don't deserve. The grace of God is a gift to us. None of us deserve His grace.

Holding onto unforgiveness puts people in a prison and lies to them that they can live peacefully. If what has happened to a person still bothers them, they're still hurt. The devil will use that pain to harden your heart more, throw you into ptsd and get triggers, ext. This is still bondage and unforgivness is still a form of enslavement to yourself and others.
When we want forgiveness, we won't get forgiveness if we don't forgive. Matthew 6:14-15 You reap what you sow whether it be now, later, or in later generations. Galatians 6:7 Forgiving someone doesn't mean you're justifying what someone did.
A person can't truly move on and cut a person off from their life while there is unforgiveness. The thought of this person may make your heart twist in pain or bad memories spring up, the wound is still there and it needs to be healed! Proverbs 17:22
Forgiving brings healing because healing comes from a place of unconditional love which can ONLY come from Jesus!! James 5:15-16 and Psalm 147:3
Jesus is God and He can help you and heal you! Not only that but by doing this, you get peace that not as the world gives but as God gives. Not false peace that lasts for a short amount of time but REAL peace that lasts forever! John 14:27 and 1 Peter 5:7

It saddens me to see people who have been hurt. Even the more when they don't know that their life is precious in God's eyes. They don't even realize how much they're loved and they cope with what has happened to them in bad ways. Romans 5:8
They practically give up because they're tired and they build walls to protect themselves but all the while they do that, they block and shun the love of Jesus.
They build up for themselves identities to cope and to express their pain but it's not the life that God wants for them. God wants all of us, those who are broken in spirit, tired, heavily burdened to come to Him and literally cast our anxieties on Him because He cares for us! Psalm 51:17 and Matthew 11:28-30
He wants us to trust in Him and form a relationship with Him, to learn what love is and how to receive it and walk in it! Revelation 3:20 and 2 Peter 3:18
There's so much more to life than just this earth, when we die, we don't just stop existing, we're either with God forever or separated from Him forever. John 5:24 and Romans 2:6-8
Sadly, so many doesn't even realize or believe that Jesus is the solution to every problem. We were created to be with Him forever but sin separates us from Him. Isaiah 59:2, John 14:6, Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 16:11
God came down in flesh to die for our sins, our wrongs, our evil, our guilt, our shame, our lies, to give us the opportunity to be forgiven by Him! 1 Peter 2:24, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Isaiah 53:5
God did nothing wrong, mankind was the one who rejected Him and live in rebellion.
If anyone has the right to be unforgiving, it would be God! Romans 8:7-8
Everyone has wronged God in all kinds of ways and if God in the flesh; JESUS, took our place to give us the opportunity to be forgiven by Him, we should receive the love, grace, mercy, and everything that God has given us. Psalm 107, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 9:22
Jesus gave Himself for us, He gave His life when He wasn't guilty of any sin, in Him there was no evil, but He sacrificed Himself for us. Colossians 1:20-22
The hope of life and is life Himself is Jesus. Many think He is dead but He is very much alive! He is risen! He conquered death! Romans 15:13, John 11:25, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8, Revelation 1:18, 1 Corinthians 15:55-57
All we have to do is place our faith in Him and follow Him daily, to be saved from a place that was never created for us. Hell was created for the devil and the fallen angels(demons) and for ever wicked and evil thing. Matthew 25:41 and Revelation 4:11
Place your faith in Jesus and receive the inheritance of eternal life. Romans 6:23
To be seated in heavenly places. Ephesians 2:6 and Romans 6:4
To fight against the devil.
To fight against wrong in the right way.
This is not a fight against flesh and blood!
Ephesians 6:11-20
This is a fight against the real enemy, the devil! He is a liar and a deceiver, don't allow him to be a tyrant in your life! The devil only comes to steal, kill, and destroy but Jesus comes to give us life more abundantly. 1 Peter 5:6-9, John 10:10, 2 Corinthians 11:14
The devil doesn't want you to realize who you really are in Jesus! Jesus thought about us before all creation was created, including the universe!! His thoughts for us are more than the grain of sand on this earth! Psalm 139:17-18
Jesus just wants us to place our faith in Him because He already made plans for us! Plans to help us, not hurt us, plans for a future and a hope through Him!! Jeremiah 29:11-15
People, including yourself and the devil may have hurt you and backstabbed you, but Jesus wasn't the one who did that!!
You're alive today because God still has a purpose for you! Don't wait to try to clean yourself up or fix yourself before coming to Jesus. He will take you in as you are now and clean you up as long as you let Him!! 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 1 Corinthians 5:17, 1 John 1:9
Glory to the Most High God for His forgiveness and redemption that we receive by faith in Jesus!

Do some self-reflecting today!
Really ask God and allow Him to search your heart to see if you have unforgiveness in you.
This will probably be a painful process for a lot of people, trust me, I understand that pain to a certain level.
Just know that, ignoring your pain won't bring you healing. Sweeping it under the rug won't bring healing.
No, not all the time will people be peaceful to you or bring closure. I've experienced this before too but when I tell you that Jesus is who you need to get through this and to obtain peace with God who is Creator of the universe, I'm a living testimony of His wondrous works!
Take into consideration that a lot of times, the wound will hurt when it's going through stages of healing.
The best counselor I know is Jesus!

Now, I know a lot has been said and it's a lot to digest but I'm going to add Matthew 18:11-35 for the ending. This is a parable that Jesus tells to help people understand just how important forgiving is!
Every time you remember what has happened to you, forgive and keep forgiving. Sometimes, it takes multiple times to let forgiveness (which stems from agape love) bring in healing! Kind of like applying ointment to a wound until it's healed. Don't put salt in the wound with pettiness, anger, and bitterness.
Remember that Jesus loves you and I love you too. 💌❤
