Greetings reader, and welcome to the second entry in the one shot collection. This one is about Ian and Barbara from doctor who. I apologize for not updating recently, I've been focusing on writing my other story, Bloodlust, and I have been struggling to have time for writing. Anyway, here it is!
If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day 'til eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you
"Ian! Breakfast is ready!" Barbara shouted at about 6 am. Ian, all spiffied up for his work as Cambridge professor, was wearing his green sports jacket and flannel.
If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure, and then
Again, I would spend them with you
Barbara poured the orange juice and said to Ian, in a shocked tone "Look what's happened! There's been a horrific nuclear accident in Russia!"
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do once you find them
"Let me guess, Barbara. There are two reasons you are upset about this. Number one, most of those people will either die or get cancer, and number two, it reminds you of your own mortality."
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go through time with
"I know, especially with my breast cancer diagnosis. I hear the prognosis is bad."
If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory of how they were answered by you
"I'm sorry, Barbara. But whatever happens, I will be there for you, we will make the remaining time we have together last."
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do once you find them
"Yes, Ian. I'm not afraid. At least I have a strong handsome man like you to comfort me."
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go through time with
"Yes, Barbara. By the way, did you know there's rumours floating around that we haven't aged?"
