You can hate me. It's cool.
When I wrote this ending I kind of hated me too.
I didn't want to publish this last chapter for a long time. I was in a different place when I wrote it and it seems very bleak now. The problem is that this ending has always been right. It has existed since this story first began, and throughout that time it has always, always, felt right. It still does, as much as I sort of wish it didn't.
This story ends without hope. But that's only because Murphy feels hopeless. What I want you to know is that she's wrong.
There is hope. Always.
That's why --despite the fact that I am not currently in the right place to write a Private School Kings sequel-- there is an epilogue.
