"Oh, aren't you excited! It's your first Halloween Kyrie!" Out of everyone in the apartment Isla had been the most excited about the holiday that 'celebrates the devil' or ' warding of the spirits' depending on the religion. It was also the time of the year when hiding their demonic features became a bit troublesome, it was the time of the year when the King of the underworld himself released demons, and ghouls alike to play in the land of the living terrorizing the mortals that feared them, and gifting the followers of Lucifer with whatever they were deemed worthy of receiving. For most it would be a hassle to deal with considering they lived in the mortal realm, but the family of four couldn't find it in their hearts to care much, when there was a small little being that was dressed so cutely in a pumpkin costume.
The plan was for them to have a small little party within the apartment with their family, and take Kyrie out to trick or treat within the row of houses in Forks Washington. It was simple, and it would surely be fun considering Charlie had decided that he was going to take the day off also in order not to miss this special day.
"Get the camera! Get the camera! I promised your mother I would send photos of this special day!" Surprisingly out of the two women, Jennifer had the best relationship with Renee, while Isla stuck more beside Charlie. There had been a harsh debate about whether or not they were going to spend Thanksgiving with Renee and Phil, or Charlie and Bella...Antonio just decided to save the headache and invited them to have it at their place so that no one would feel left out, "Ooh smile baby girl! Smile!"
"You two are far too excited to dress a child up as a pumpkin." He wanted her to be a baby lamb, though the girls threw a fit considering the small little satanic goat head that rested above the doorway of his office would've made it far too much. They didn't find his joke of her being a sacrificial animal very funny. His work was put on hold for a night, and his main job for the day was to get the invitations sent out for the party, and set up a separate party for the adults to enjoy when Kyrie had drifted off to sleep. It wasn't harder than his work, but it was tedious to deal with since the girls demanded that he write the words in a certain font, and choose oddly specific orange colored paper to make the cards out of...by hand.
"I mean, Leah had even decided that it would be nice to join." And the said girl had decided that she would release a pair of fluffy black ears onto her head, and allow a similar in color tail out. Obviously she wasn't too happy for being referred to as a furry, but the costume that Jennifer had put together was far too good to be wasted. Her boyfriend had even decided to match, and the couple seemed to be enjoying themselves as they took pictures of their own off to the side where they gave the small family some space.
"I did join in." He wasn't going to throw on anything heavy, being a demon was already tiring enough, he also wasn't going to appear before Lucifer with a pumpkin costume on later during the evening either, and embarrass himself. A clean cut demon was all they were going to get out of him, maybe later in the year when he didn't have a mandatory inauguration to attend, he did however enjoy the little happy little chatters of his found family as they indulge themselves in the mortal pleasure of dressing up.
"Sure, you look nice too." The two of them didn't fret over it though, they too were dressed up pretty nicely considering they were going to be right next to him as his wives. It slightly hurt to leave poor little Kyrie as the cute little pumpkin by herself, but they would most definitely be free next Halloween to join her on this little costume craze.
"Charlie will be coming by soon in order to pick us all up." Leah called, she had grown quite close to the male despite everything that has happened, and sadly has little to no contact with her family after her father had died. They still were invited to the little party that they were hosting, but there was strong doubt within Leah's heart that they would actually come by and celebrate with them. Her mother was a stickler for it to begin with, and Sam was probably being a bit petty and forcing Seth to patrol so that he wouldn't be able to come either.
"Is Isabella with him?" A stupid question that had scoffs from all around the room being heard. A bunch of people had been invited to the party, a bunch of people other than the Cullen's and when that fact was known it became quite apparent that Bella wasn't very happy about that. She couldn't understand why no one could forgive and forget like she could, it wasn't like they meant any harm, but the majority of the people that she tried to convince otherwise weren't swaying.
"What do you think?" She wasn't that fond of the teen to begin with, she was problematic, and seemed to have the biggest problem with her that she has yet to figure out why. She doesn't acknowledge her, and while that would've upset the old her, the new her couldn't help but think the girl needed to grow up, and gain a mind of her own instead of following her little leech around like a puppy.
"Goody." As sad as it was that Bella refused to spend time with them unless it was with those people, they still weren't going to let it ruin their night. This wasn't just about them, it was also about Kyrie who seemed to be more interested in plucking the fuzzy from her costume than her Auntie that tried getting her attention for the photos she was trying to take.
"I'm guessing we could stop by Forks High first, I heard they're doing a little Trick or Trunk for the little kids. Then we could stop by that neighborhood that Charlie had been talking about." The one that all the kids in Forks that attended school seemed to stay in except Bella, and the Cullen's. It was a bit weird that they were the outliers, but somewhat good considering both groups got a ton of secrets that they can't risk being revealed.
"We could take pictures there too! I bet they have those little photo stations where you can take cute little pictures." At least she hoped so, they planned on adding a small little photo area in the corner of their living room for people to take photos in front of just for the hell of it, but the view from their wall of windows alone was a great background for any moment.
"Yeah, yeah, once Charlie gets up here we can all take a photo together." Leah grinned, she fixed up her little 'costume.' This was going to be her first Halloween that she had actually gone out and had fun with alongside a man she could call her own. As much as she didn't want to wear this classy little outfit, she still had to admit that she looked nice in it. A wolf dressed up as Little Red was far too iconic, especially with her ears and tail being the real deal.
Jennifer couldn't do much with her outfit considering she still had an appearance to make later on in the night, but instead of going for her usual sexy wear, she decided that she was going to put one of her brand new dresses to use, and give herself the classy Morticia Addams look. It was perfect for Halloween and with a bit of rearranging the makeup, it would be perfect for an inauguration. Isla though stuck with her usual style, a brand new ball gown that she was forced to buy under Jennifer's watchful eyes that made her look like a fairy princess straight out of a Disney movie. She wouldn't have to do much besides reapplying her makeup, and loosening up some of the curls in her hair.
"What would he be dressed up as though?" Leah's boyfriend had only met the man a few times and he seemed decent, but he also didn't seem like the type to care about this type of stuff either.
"No offense, but your father's creativity is close to nothing. I bet a Police officer." Jennifer giggled, she loved Charlie, she truly did, but she didn't think the man could go beyond what he deemed was normal.
"A hunter, he recently got some more Camo." Isla stashed in her vote.
"I'm going with Police officer also." Leah shrugged.
"I'm going with anything, but what was said." Antonio knew his dad better than anyone. And while everyone seemed eager to figure out what Charlie was dressed as, the only one that sat calm enough in the room had to be Antonio. Eyes focused on the entrance hall as they waited for Charlie to arrive.
"Hey everyone! What do you think?" Safe to say, Antonio won. Like what he had done for Antonio's and Bella's first Halloween, Charlie was dressed up as a pumpkin also. A pair of tiny little horns sticking out the top of his head as he gave everyone a little twirl of his outfit that was a size too small, "come on now, why is everyone looking at me like that?"

A little late I know, but I had this drafted up, and decided to finish writing it. I'll also probably do a Thanksgiving Special, but that's if I haven't finished the book before then. It's something I just put together out of fun, because why not.
I hope whoever decided to celebrate Halloween had a great time, and if not, I still hoped you had a great day October 31st.
