Zander's POV
Luke had asked me to come over to his house after school, saying he had something important to tell me. I had a feeling I knew what it was. Or at least what I was hoping it was. Today was the 2 year anniversary of me and Luke becoming a couple. I still remember that day as if it just happened..

Zander's POV
*Flashback...*
"I don't like that girl, Zander! I like YOU!!"
I turned around, stopping my tears for a split moment as my eyes went wide. "Wh-What....?"
"Zander, I'm in love with you...I have been for a really long time...that song Hailey sang for me, I wrote it for you..."
My continued to stare, wide eyed. I've never heard an original song from Luke, and the first one I do hear, he...wrote it for me...?
"I-I thought...you only saw me as a childhood friend..." I said looking down. "You've always been more than that...!" Luke said "I wanted to tell you for so long, but recently...it seems like all I do is make you feel uncomfortable...I could never seem to find the right time, or the right way to tell you..."
Oh god, now I feel terrible...!! All this time I've been so scared and anxious to tell Luke how much I'm in love with him. I didn't wanna loose him. Meeting him is the best thing that's ever happened to me. All this time I've been terrified to tell him, but he just feels the same way! In love but ask scared...
"And I'm probably making you feel uncomfortable now..." he continued. I couldn't go on listening to my best friend be upset
"Y-YOU'RE WRONG!!" I cut his sentence short, not meaning to shout. Suddenly I started to cry. I didn't mean to, and I certainly didn't want to. But I did
"Y-You've never made me feel uncomfortable..! Wh-When you would get close, I was scared because I didn't want you to notice how I really felt about you...s-so I-I pushed you away...I wanted to protect our friendship...I...didn't wanna loose you..."
Luke stepped forward, smiling a bit. I could see he was also starting to cry a bit. "Zander, you'll NEVER loose me..." he said, continuing to step closer.
"I-Im not like Stacy, you know...!" I said "I-I'm...uptight...! And I'll probably call you names a lot...!"
Luke just chuckled a bit. "That's fine.." he said
"I'm stubborn, a little selfish at times, and I get jealous easily-"
And then it happened..he kissed me for the first time...

Zander's POV
Before heading to Luke's, I asked if we could stop by my house to which he said yes . We got to the house, and I stopped him before we headed inside. "You need to stay in here for a minute." I said. He nodded. "Alright, hun" he smiled. Okay, I admit, I may of left his present at my house. But hey, at least I didn't forget all together! I'm not that kind of guy. Thankfully it's not that cold out today. But I still don't wanna be too long inside getting his present. After about 5 minutes inside, I headed back out with a different bag in hand. "Sorry, didn't mean to take so long..." I said. "No no, it's okay! Don't worry!" Luke said "I have all the time in the world!" I smiled as the two of us headed off to his place
When we got to Luke's house and he opened the door, letting m go in first. "I'm home, mom! he called out and we placed our shoes by the door. The two of us walked in, and saw Luke's mom in the kitchen. "Hi sweetie!" she called. She was scooping pieces of cookie dough from a bowl with a spoon, then balling it with her hands before placing each on a parchment paper covered tray. "You making cookies?" Luke asked as the two of us walked in and stood at the opposite side of the counter. Luke's mom nodded. "Yep! Double chocolate chi- oh! Hello, Zander! How lovely to see you!"
"Hello Mrs Peterson.." I said, my attention going away from the cookies for a split second. Luke's mom finished with the cookie dough, then looked in the mostly empty bowl. "Well, there isn't enough left to make more dough balls. So would you guys like to just...eat the rest?" she smiled at us. "Yes, please!" Luke smiled as I nodded. Luke's mom placed the cookie trays in the oven, then divided the leftover raw dough into two bowls before giving them to me and Luke with a spoon for each of us. "Thanks mom!" Luke smiled. "Yes, thank you" I said after. "It's not a problem at all!" Luke's mom smiled
Luke's mom left the room, leaving just me and Luke at the table. I looked up at Luke, only to see him staring at me smiling. "What?" I said "do I have something on my face? Did I get it on my forehead somehow?"
Luke chuckled. "Heh, no" he smiled. "I'm just taking in how adorable you are, like I do every day."
I could feel my face heat up, and I bet it was red too. "Luke, don't say such embarrassing things...!!" I said. He just smiled at me
When the two of us finished, we both decided to head upstairs to Luke's room. "We'll be upstairs if you need us, mom!" he called as we were halfway up the stairs. "Okay honey! Have fun!" we heard his mom called back

Zander's POV
Stepping into Luke's room, my mind started to wander. What if something goes wrong? What if he forgot? Or what if he thinks I forgot?! He knows I would never do that, right?! Or what if he doesn't like my present?!
No, I can't think that way. Luke loves me. He's been with me for two years. If that doesn't scream 'I love you', then I don't know what does
"So..um...what's up...?" I asked as I sat on the bed next to him. I had placed my bag at the end of the bed. "What did you wanna tell me...?"
Luke handed me a white bag with purple hearts all over it and purple tissue paper practically spewing out of it. My eyes went slightly wide
"Happy 2 year anniversary, baby!" he smiled at me. "Woah!" I said. I gently took the bag from him. I slowly took the paper out, trying to be careful to not rip it or cause any of the bags contents to fall out. When I finished taking the paper out, I pulled out a framed photo of us. The frame was painted violet coloured, and decorated with periwinkle diamonds. At the top in dark purple letters, it said "L+Z"
"Aww, Luke!" I smiled "Thank you, I love it!"
He smiled before leaning forward and kissing me, me kissing him back
Once the two of us pulled apart, I went to the end of the bed and picked up my bag. I went back over and handed it to him. The bag I picked was light orange with glittery dark orange hearts all over it, aswell as orange tissue paper carefully placed in. Luke pulled out the tissue paper, placing it beside him on the bed. Then he pulled out the present, which was a small box tht had a light orange pixel heart on the front
"Ooh, what's this?" he asked cheerfully as he looked it. "I-It...uh..." I started to say. I was a little flustered in the moment. "It's called a lovebox...I-I have one too, w-with a light purple heart...it's so we can send messages to each other at home when we're apart..."
Luke's eyes sparkled a bit as I continued
"When the heart spins, that means you have a message...s-so you take the top off, like this..."
I reached my hand forward a bit, and took the top off gently
"And on that screen, it will show the message.."
Luke looked amazed. His amazed look was similar to a small child's after getting a puppy, or a huge bowl of ice cream
"I-I know it isn't much, I'm sorry I couldn't get more-" I started to say, but was cut off by Luke speaking
"Don't be silly, Zander! I love it! It's perfect!"
"Really...?" I questioned, and he nodded in response. He put it on his bedside table so he wouldn't knock it over, and then leaned forward and kissed me. I kissed him back, then looked at him smiling
"I love you, Zan"
"I love you too, Lukey"
