"So, where are you two off to?"
"Jesus Stiles. Way to scare me."
"I have set up a meeting with the Grounders."
"Sounds like a good idea. Let's go." Stiles said before Finn turned around and started walking away leaving Clarke and Stiles to follow.
"I'd love it if you were right about this but did you ever consider it might be a trap?" Clarke asked Finn as they walked through the forest.
"Yep. But since it's Unity Day, I decided to have hope instead." Finn took a step and then groaned in pain.
"Hey. Let me have a look at that." Clarke said before Finn pulled up his shirt so she could look at the wound after a few moments they just looked longingly into each other's eyes.
"Ahem, sorry to ruin the moment but we've got to keep moving," Stiles said fed up with their endless longing gazes. They quickly jumped apart making Stiles smirk.
"Seriously, Finn, you are putting a lot of faith in a guy who stuck a knife in you."
"You are sounding more and more like Bellamy."
"I'm just trying to keep us alive."
"So am I," Finn said before walking off with Stiles leaving Clarke behind but she caught up soon after.
"Talia made it back to her leader; she will be partaking in the meeting and has requested that you do the same," Abyss told Stiles as the group moved toward the bridge. After a small run, they make it and see Octavia there waiting for them.
"I was wondering how you managed to set this up," Stiles said looking at Octavia before giving her a small nod.
"You helped him escape, didn't you?" Clarke said looking at Octavia.
"I trust him, Clarke."
"There's a lot of that going around."
"Someone's coming," Stiles said drawing their attention to the other side of the bridge. They see Lincoln come running out and onto the bridge causing Octavia to run up to him and embracing him in a warm hug. Moments later a few horses come galloping out of the trees.
"Oh, my God. Horses." Clarke said watching as they come to a stop. As they do Finn runs up to Lincoln.
"Hey, we said no weapons."
"I was told there wouldn't be."
"It's too late now." Clarke and Finn start to walk toward the Grounders before Lincoln holds out his arm blocking Finn from walking.
"She goes with him," Lincoln said looking over at Stiles who gave a small nod and started walking up to where Clarke was waiting.
"We'll be fine," Clarke said reassuring Finn as Stiles stands next to her and they start walking over towards the Grounders. As they walk Talia and another woman get off their horses and start walking as well. Both sides stop once they reach the middle.
"Your name is Clarke?" The other woman asked.
"Yes."
"I'm Anya. And I'm guessing this is Stiles." She said looking over at him.
"That is correct. Who is this?" Stiles asked keeping a straight face as he looked at Talia.
"This is Talia, she is here to observe this meeting." Clarke nodded and held out her hand for Anya to shake, but she just looked down at it before looking back to her face. Both Talia and Stiles smirked at the exchange before giving each other a subtle glance but didn't say anything out loud.
"I think we got off to a rough start. But we want to find a way to live together. In peace."
"I understand. You started a war that you don't know how to end."
"What? No, we didn't start anything. You attacked us for no reason."
"No reason? The missiles you launched burned a village to the ground." Clarke looked at her confused before Stiles stepped in.
"She means those rockets you fired a few days ago."
"The flares? No that was a signal. Meant for our families. We had no idea-"
"You're invaders. Your ship landed in our territory."
"We didn't know anyone was here. We thought the ground was uninhabited."
"You knew we were here when you sent an armed raiding party to capture one of us and torture him. These are all acts of war."
"I see your point. That's why we need to put an end to all of this."
"Lincoln said there are more of you coming down. Warriors."
"The Guard. Yes. But also, farmers, doctors, and engineers. We can help each other. But not if we're at war."
"Can you promise that these new arrivals won't attack us? That they'll respect the terms you and I agree on?"
"I promise I will do everything I can to convince them to honor the terms that we set."
"Why would she agree to an alliance that our people can break the moment they get here?" Stiles asked.
"Stiles, whose side are you on?" Clarke asked shooting daggers with her eyes.
"I'm just raising a valid point. This doesn't seem that beneficial to them."
"Look if you fire the first shot those people coming down won't bother negotiating. Our technology... They will wipe you out."
"They wouldn't be the first to try."
"Clarke I would slow your roll there. Threatening them will not get your point across any better."
"Jasper Jordan appears to be in distress. Unstable man with a gun, I would take cover if I were you." Abyss told Stiles and Talia making them look at each other as they hear yelling coming from beside the bridge.
"Clarke, run! Run!" Jasper yells out before firing his rifle at the trees. A Grounder throws a spear at Stiles but he gets hit by one of Jaspers's bullets. Stiles catches the spear thrown at him and uses it to hit Anya's arm up after she grabs a knife out of her sleeve.
"Clarke get down!" Finn calls out as an arrow is fired at her. Stiles steps in the way and deflects it with the spear before winking at Talia.
"Talia, get out of here," Stiles says before running over to Clarke and helping her up. As they run back arrows fly overhead, one of which is aimed at Octavia but Lincoln moves in the way to block it with his body.
"Oh, my God, Lincoln, you've been hit."
"It's just a scratch." He says before snapping the arrowhead off.
"Run. Don't stop until you get behind your walls. Go! Take her!"
"Lincoln, no," Octavia called out.
"Go!" He yelled back
"Ste yuj." Stiles says to Lincoln nodding before turning and running off the bridge. They run back to camp and Finn eyes Bellamy.
"You got something to say?"
"Yeah, I told you, no guns."
"I told you we couldn't trust the Grounders. I was right."
"And why didn't you tell me what you were up to?"
"I tried, but you were too busy making bullets for your guns."
"You're lucky she brought that. They came there to kill you, Finn."
"We don't know that; Jasper fired the first shot."
"You ruined everything," Octavia said before turning and walking away.
"I saved you!" Jasper yelled at her.
"Well, if we weren't at war already, we sure as hell are now," Stiles said looking between Clarke and Bellamy.
"You didn't have to trust the Grounders. You just had to trust me." Finn said before following Stiles as he walked into the camp. A few minutes later Stiles saw a bright light descending from the sky.
"Some kind of dropship coming from the Ark. There appears to be some kind of external interference. The ships going to crash."
'External interference? From where?'
"Mount Weather. They are currently an extreme threat to us."
'What kind of armaments does the mountain have?'
"Acid fog, a variety of firearms, and an unknown number of BGM-109 Tomahawk LAMs"
'Well, shit. I hope we don't piss them off.'
"Agreed," Abyss said before Stiles walked into the dropship and found somewhere to sleep.
