All our parents left yesterday. It was only going to be a two day stay. I was sort of sad to have them go, right after things with my mother has changed. But today is a good day. I'm on a plane to Hampton. One the east side of Victoria. It's a long plane ride which should be fun.

But everyone is asleep and we've only been on this private plane for an hour. We have 5 hours left before we reach Hampton. What am I going to do then?

I opened the window of the plane and looked out to the dark morning sky. We left the palace at 3 a.m. Super early.

The only girl left at the palace was Veronica. And we didn't care what she did while we would be gone. The King loves her, so nothing bad can happen.

I closed the window and got off the white couch I was sitting on. I was all alone in the the lounge. Everyone was asleep in the backrooms.

Of course Madison was sleeping with Ashton. But Luke and I, well, we know where we stand. But then again we don't. I know we both want to be like Madison and Ashton. But it's that stand-offish feeling. We feel close, but I feel like one of us is so unsure. Unsure about each other. I don't know if it's me or him.

So I sleep in the other room. Sadly.

I know. I know. 'But we slept together before'.

That was before we finally admitted things to each other, before I knew how I felt.

"Alice?" Madison walked out of her room wrapping the robe around her. "Are you still up?"

"I guess I slept all night." I shrugged.

"How are you feeling?" She asked me.

"Bigger question. How are you feeling? I mean Anna only scratched me on my back. Which I didn't discover until the next day, that I was bleeding. But you, she hit you hard."

She sighed and sat next to me on the couch. "I know right? That's what I get for fighting and not knowing how to." She rubbed the side of her jaw. A growing bruise was there. There were more bruises across her body but it didn't matter compared to the one on her face.

"And I slammed her head on to the floor so many times." I shook my head and chuckled.

"Can you believe she survived that? They told me you really pounded her head in. But at least she's gone. Every since Ashton said 'hi' to me, I received disgusting looks from her."

I pulled my knees to my chest and laid my chin on them. "Sometimes I wonder why I always seem to mess up when it comes to friends."

"What?"

"Every friend I've ever made, stabbed me in the back somehow. Or they showed their true colors and became someone I didn't want to be friends with in the first place."

She placed her legs on the couch, bent behind her. "Alice. I want you to know that I will never be like any other back stabbing bitch."

I smiled. "It's nice to hear you say that."

"And hey, you made friends with Corey. She's still great."

"No. She betrayed me once. I want to visit her to see if she really does still hate me or if she's willing to be my friend again."

"I've watched you and Corey and Anna the entire two months, and I think Corey is a good friend."

"So, Luke told you that... that he saved Corey from extreme suffering?"

"No. I was told from Ashton."

"Oh. So Ashton tells you everything?"

She nodded. "Pretty much."

I looked at her in the eyes. "He tells you everything? Even.. even things about other people?"

Madison is one of the people in this palace who know nothing about my double life. She knows nothing about my brother. Nothing. And I expect her to know nothing. Not a thing.

"Yeah." She nodded.

I took a deep breath to control my emotions from showing.

"Madison."

"Yup?"

"What do you know?"

"I can't tell." She smirked. "What you want to know the 'deets' on everyone in the palace?"

I think I know way more then her.

I shrugged. "No. Just checking if you knew anything about me."

"I know a little about you."

"What?!" I let go of everything and exploded. "He was never supposed to tell you anything! I swear it is all a lie!"

"Whoa." She raised her hands over her head. "Don't shoot! Alice. He told me about your dead brother. And how you lost him at a very young age."

"Oh." I eased back down in to my seat and gave a soft giggle. "I knew that. Just seeing if you would blab."

She put her arms back down but she still looked defensive. "It also explained your trust issues. And how you're so unsure about everything."

I leaned forward. "He told you that?"

"No. I concluded it. The way you and Luke are. I mean the way you're with people in general. It's off. You're so off."

So I'm the one who's off. I'm the one unsure. I'm the one who makes our relationship so off. It's because of me. Not him.

"Oh."

"Sorry if that sounded rude but-"

"That's okay." I looked at the window then back at her. "I'm going to go. Enjoy the morning sky."

I got up from the couch and faintly waved at her. She picked up her hand and dropped it. I turned around and instead of going to my room. I went to Luke's.

Maybe if I act like we really are in a relationship. Then we can actually be in one.

I opened the door to the dimly lit room and closed it quietly. I didn't want to wake him.

I turned around to him and the bedside light switched on, scaring the shit out of me.

"You know I heard everything."

I jumped and held on to my chest. "Luke! What the fuck?!"

"Hey. You're cursing."

"No shit. Why would you scare me like that?"

"Why are you in my room?"

He knew what he was doing. He was teasing me. He knew why I came in here. I came in here to sleep with him. And now he's going to have me admit to it. He knows that's a challenge.

I tilted my head and glared. "You know why."

"I don't think I do."

I mocked him as I walked to the other side of the bed. Just before I was going to get in he rolled over and took up the whole bed.

"This bed is so comfy." He said into the pillow.

He's pissing me off.

"Stop playing around."

"What? This bed is so comfy. I could just take up the whole thing."

I huffed. Then I thought of something. "If you don't move I will sit on your back."

He wiggled around but still took up the whole bed.

"Fine." I sat on his back and he groaned. "I'm sorry am I heavy? Am I hurting you?" I bounced on his back.

"Not at all."

I pouted. "The cuts on your back healed didn't they?"

He lifted his head up to look at me and smiled. "Since yesterday."

I poked his head. "Can you just move over. I'm tired."

"Oh. So you wanted to sleep with me? Well, you should have just said so."

I got up and he rolled back over and tapped the space in front of him. I rolled my eyes and got in next to him.

"You make things complicated." I admitted.

"Me? You make things complicated. You push me away every time I get close to you."

"I do?"

"Whenever I get serious, about us, you make a joke or change the subject."

I thought about it for a little and he is so right. I have issues.

"Well, I'm working on it."

He agreed. "Me too."

"Go to sleep. We have a 5 hour nap before we have to get in the car."

.

"Wake up." Someone slapped me on the shoulder and I jolted up. The car pulled up in front of a really huge house. Not bigger than the palace, but too big to be a house.

There was a fountain on the fresh green grass in front of the house. There were men in suits standing at the gates of the beach front mansion.

Madison reached over me to look out the window. "This is so beautiful."

"Right?" I agreed.

When the car stopped in front of a sandy path that led to the house one of the men in suits opened the door and held out a hand.

I looked back at Madison and smirked. "Fancy."

I took the hand and stood out the car. TI breathed in the air as rhe warm breeze of Hampton washed over my face.

"Alright. We got to get out too." Madison chuckled as she tried pushing me out the way.

"Sorry." I stepped out of the way of their way.

"This is so beautiful." Madison said once she got out of the car.

Ashton stepped out from behind her and wrapped his arms around her. He whispered something that made her laugh.

So I was hoping that Luke can do the same to me. But he got out the car and walked past me.

Am I sure I'm the problem?

I followed behind the perfect couple and was the last to get inside.

We stepped into the beautifully lit home. I looked around and took in everything.

Small details on the wallpaper were gold. Better than the red and blue designs on the palace walls.

This is where Corey is going to live now. In this nice beautiful house. I can get one next door if I drop out now.

But, I want to know where I stand. Because I've been ignored the whole car ride.

"Are they really here!?" I heard Corey running down hall and the sound of heels hitting the marble floors.

Once she neared the corner I lost all calm. I jumped and tackled her in a hug. We squeezed each other for dear life and when we let go, the first thing we said to each other was. "You've changed!"

I gave her a weird look. She changed because she got new hair. She wasn't golden blonde anymore. Her hair was darker. It was close to brown but it was still blonde.

I stepped back and took one more look at her. "How have I changed?"

"Look at you." She looked at me too. Gave me a full inspection. "You're wearing things. You have your shades on your head, you're hair is pulled back into a braided bun. And oh," she pointed her hand to my mother's red heels on my feet, "you're wearing heels."

I looked down and clicked my toes together. "Yeah. I guess I have changed." When really I just want to be like Madison and Ashton with Luke.

Madison wears heels, so why can't I?

"Well look at you." I tried changing the subject. "Your hair is new."

She quickly took the pins out from her hair and let her hair fall. She let it fall all the way down to her hips. Her hair grew. A lot.

"Oh my Corey." I gasped.

She squealed, "I know. I was just like, 'Maybe I should stop cutting my hair' so I stopped."

"Wait, your hair grows that fast?"

She eagerly nodded, "Yeah."

"You are amazing." I hugged her again. I was just so glad that I could finally see her again. I don't care about asking her for forgiveness, or begging her for forgiveness. Honestly, as long as we are friends for now. That's all I want.

"Sorry to interrupt your little reunion but, we are people too."

Corey and I turned our heads to Ashton waving at us. His other hand was linked to the giggling Madison. But Luke was just standing there with his hands in his pockets. Awkwardly standing alone.

Corey looked back at me, but since we were still holding on to each other, she nearly kissed me. I did kissy faces and she backed away laughing, finally letting go. "Alice I don't like you like that."

We all laughed after that.

Get the joke?

"But come here." She leaned in to whisper in my ear. "When are you and Luke going to become a thing? Ashton already found his one. When are you going to be a thing with him?"

I rolled my eyes and whispered back. "We are a thing, I think. It's just that one of us is being complicated."

She pulled away. "Oh." She slowly nodded.

I looked back at everyone else. "Well, don't stand there like chopped liver. Come over and join this hug-"

"Yay!" Madison dropped her purse and jumped into the hug. "I've been dying to be friends with you."

The rest of them just traded greetings. I guess they don't like hugs.

A man in a suit with a towel on his arm walked in to interrupt us.

"Prince Luke. Your room?"

Corey took this chance of sudden silence to quickly pull at my arm and whisper in my ear. "You're not staying in the same room?"

I shrugged. "I don't know."

"Oh, uh." He looked at me, then quickly back at the man. "Yeah. right. Yes." He rubbed his eyes and grimaced. Then he looked back at me and held out his hand. "Come on Alice."

I looked at Corey and she nudged me forward.

Well, look at who's finally showing affection.

I walked over to him and took his hand. His eyes trailed from my hand to my eyes. Then he gave me a smile. A smile that took forever to show. Like he was so unsure about it.

"This way sir."

We followed the man to a spiral staircase that led up to the second floor of the house. He held my hand as we walked up the steps, but he hasn't looked back at me once.

It's liked when I tried to be more affectionate. He becomes a complete wall. Yeah. That's the right description. It's like talking to a wall. Or looking at one.

We reached the top of the staircase and I tugged at his hand. He still didn't look at me.

The man began to walk again and we followed. Then stopped in front of a door. "Your room is right here, your luggage will be here in a few minutes. Enjoy." The man nodded and began to walk away.

I tried looking at Luke's face but he kept turning away. "Hey. Why won't you-"

"Why don't you get inside, get settled. I'm going go to utilize the lavatory." He mumbled as he dodged my eyesight again.

I got annoyed and took him by the face to forcibly get a good look at his face.

I only had a quick second to look at his face. In that second I was able to pull out every detail on his face. I saw a scenery of anger on his face, before he could turn away .

"Wait. Are you angry with me?"

"Alice..." He slowly took my hands off his face, but I fought back and took his hands.

"Luke. What's up? You've been acting weird since this morning." He didn't respond so I continued. "I mean, if it's my sudden change of affection then I can stop. I was only doing that because... maybe... I wanted us to be-"

"Alice..." He said again. "I want to explain. But it would be really hard to." He finally looked back down at me and his face was calm.

He's always hiding his emotions and I don't want him to. It's bad to hide your hurt. I want him to be open with me.

"Whatever it is. I'll try to understand."

He stared at me long and hard before letting go of my hands and walking into the room. I followed quickly behind him and closed the door.

"What's wrong with me?" He asked as soon as I shut the door.

I tiptoed around the room and over to him, being as quiet as I can. As soft as I can. "Nothing is wrong with you."

His face got angry when he looked at me. "Alice. Listen to me. Everything I do doesn't seem to make everyone happy. Why can't I make everyone happy?"

I bit the inside of my lip and admitted. "You make me happy."

He stood frozen before he began to freak out and pulled at his hair. "There is totally something wrong with me." He kicked the nearby chair and it fell over, surprisingly I wasn't scared by the sound. "You. It's like my world came crashing for, you."

I stayed quiet. Not because I wanted to. But because I was confused. But I'm trying to understand.

"Your eyes. It has no special color. Brown. But when I look into them all I see is the world of beauty caught in them. You were never supposed to be special to me, but you are." He walked over to me and gripped on to my arms. "Why? Why are you so perfect?"

I stammered, "I- I-"

"I lost respect from my own father. Because of you."

The look I had on my face before was replaced with a combination of anger and shock. I narrowed my eyes and frowned at the mention of his father.

"Your father never gave you respect. You never had his respect in the first place."

"Yeah. But now, I'm willing to give up everything for you."

"Honestly. I don't understand what's going on."

"Why do you like me? Why do you want to be my girlfriend. Or want a relationship with me?"

"What?"

He let go of my arms and got in face. "Is because I'm cute? Is it because I'm, the future King of Victoria? Is it because your a gold digger?"

I couldn't believe the words coming out of his mouth. Gold digger? That's really low. "Oh my God." I said in disgust.

"Answer me."

I pushed him out the way and sat on the bed. Facing away from him.

"You're dodging my question Alice! Answer me!" He shouted.

I responded without looking at him. "You let your father get into your head, didn't you."

"He might have got into my head. But he might be making sense. You've been playing me. Admit it."

I huffed. "Why would I ever play you? Answer that."

He stomped over and peered down at me. "Answer my question first. Your the reason why I am so crazy!"

I kept my calm and stood up to try and meet his level, even though he was still taller. "Look into my eyes and tell me who was the man who killed your mother. Look into my eyes and tell me who was the man who beat you for innocent deeds."

"Look me in the eyes and tell me who was the girl that rejected me multiple times. Who was the girl who made me fight against my own family for her. Who was the girl that dragged me along through all her problems with her."

That might sound bad. But from my perspective, it sounds like nothing.

"Luke-"

"You. You're the girl. And now that I finally have you. My eyes begin to open. You've been playing with me. Toying."

"Luke...."

"Prince Luke. Lady Alice. It's Prince Luke."

"You're joking."

"I'm afraid I'm not."

"You know what? When you get your head cleared, then you can talk to me. But for now, don't even speak to me." I whipped around and chased for the door.

"Yeah. Walk out, just like your brother did on your family."

I froze. My hand froze in place when it was reaching for the door. I curled up my fist and dropped the hand to my side.

If I just breath in. Then out. Maybe, just maybe, I won't put my hands on his throat.

I hesitated to go for the door again. Trying to decide if I should stay or go.

I stayed. "What did you say?"

"Lady Alice. I think you heard clear."

I slowly and roughly turned on my heels and walked to him, near the bed. "I don't know what the fuck is wrong with you. But you better keep my family out of this."

"Did I hit a nerve?"

"Yes you did. And I'm going to, too."

I launched my knee straight up in between his legs.

His face contorted and his hands dropped to 'hold on'. He didn't speak. He just fell on to the bed and curled up.

I leaned over and whispered in his ear. "Did I hit a nerve?"

That's when I got up and stomped to the door. Officially opening it this time. I don't know what is wrong with him. But if he wants to explain further, then he'll have to bother me later. Because my foot is still twitching to kick him one more time.

I closed the door behind me slowly. This whole situation is so confusing. I don't even understand what was going on. One thing I did understand, he really hurt me and it's like he became someone else. Totally someone else. He turned into his father.

I took the sunglasses off from my hair and slipped it on. I think I'm going to start crying soon. And I don't want anyone to see me cry.

I took deep breaths to control any emotion I had left as I walked slowly down the spiral stairs.

Corey turned around once I made it down the last step after it felt like I took hours to get down. "Alice." She was holding a glass cup with a straw inside of it. "How are you enjoying my wonderful paradise?"

It would have been wonderful if Luke didn't have mood swings. "I'm enjoying it just fine."

"Well come on!" She grabbed on to my hand. "We're going to the beach."

"But I don't have on my swimsuit."

She looked back at me. "It's the Hamptons. Just strip down to your underwear and dive in. Don't worry about anything today."

I shrugged and believed her. I'm not going to worry about anything for today. I'm not going to worry about my parents, my brother, friends, or even Luke. I'm going to worry about me. And me only.

We reached the outside back of the house where it over looked the ocean. I took the hair pins out of my bun. Buns aren't my thing. They never were in the first place.

I slipped off the red heels my mother let me use. It would've never been something I would put on when I came here.

Then I pulled the dress over my head. The very pink sundress. A color that I never fucked with. But I'm wearing it. I'm wearing all of this stuff to catch peoples attention. I wanted Luke's attention. But I don't need it no more.

I stepped over the gate that separated the house from the very tall rock that over looked the ocean. The short gate was to keep people from falling over in to the water when they walk around the backyard.

I heard giggles and screams then turned to my left. Watching Madison and Ashton jump off the rock together.

Corey jumped down right after.

I smiled and took off my sunglasses. I took the emergency hair tie that I always keep on my upper arm and pulled my hair into a ponytail.

I'll have fun while Luke enjoys the pain of my foot.

I opened my arms and let the breeze hit me. Then I took a step forward that had no ground beneath it, then slowly turned around to fall backwards into the water.

I plummet underneath for a while until I come back up to the surface.

"Alice! Wasn't that great?!" She swam to me. "I've been jumping down from that rock since I've been here." She stopped and paced her breathing. "I mean, they said that it was 'too dangerous to jump from that height'. But I wanted to let go and break the rules after becoming a whole new me. Here, is where I can be me." She smiled and looked up at the sun.

I stayed silent and thoughts of him ran through my mind again. He's ruining my mood. It's like he just suddenly wanted an argument. What was up with him? Was it really something I did?

"Hey. What's up with you?" I think is what she said. But I was to busy staring at Ashton and Madison. Having fun, and being a couple.

"Okay. Take this from me. You look like a stalker staring extra hard at them. What's wrong?"

I detached myself from my imagination. Luke and I might just never be a thing. What was I thinking. If we really did marry and he'd act like a jerk then. I wouldn't know what to do. I'd be tied down to him and the country. I wouldn't be able to leave. But now, I have a choice. I could leave now. But my second thoughts are stopping me. My heart is stopping me.

Ever realized that your first thoughts come from your mind. Inside your head.

Then your second thoughts come from your heart.

"I'm just so confused. This whole selection was a confusion."

She squared her eyes at me. "What are you talking about?"

"I- See them?" I nodded towards the happy couple.

"Yeah. They're a cute couple."

"Well, Luke and I are no where near that." I bit my lip. "And I want that."

"Oh." She raised her eyebrows. "You think he has another girl?"

I shook my head. "No. I know he doesn't. The only other girl is Veronica."

"And Anna?"

I gasped. "I didn't tell you about Anna?"

"No." She popped her eyes open and slapped me on the shoulder. "What happened to Anna?"

"Long story short. She went jealous crazy and attacked Madison." I turned around to Madison and pointed faintly at her. "If you look closely you could see bruises all over."

Corey squinted then gasped. "I never thought Anna would do that."

I shrugged. "Well, Veronica was her friend."

"Wow. A lot happened when I was gone."

I agreed. "Yeah. A lot happened when you left."

"So... where do you stand with Luke?"

I scoffed. "I just walked out of a completely stupid argument with him. I also kicked him in the balls."

She tilted her head back with both eyebrows high. "Whoa. Did I just miss a soap opera?"

"I guess you can say that."

"So what's he doing now?"

I played with my hands in the water and shrugged. "Who knows. He might still be holding on to his balls."

She slowly shook her head. "You are something else."

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever." I looked up around me. How do I get back up? "Corey. How do we get back up?"

"We don't." She said with a firm face.

I stopped my jaw from falling off my face and pulled it together. "What do you mean we don't?"

"We stay down here forever."

I slapped Corey on the shoulder once. "Stop playing games."

She began to laugh. "Only joking. There's these really long steps on the side of this huge rock."

.

"Okay ladies. Here's your meals." A man in white uniform pushed a cart to stop in front of us. "Lady Alice, your chicken salad." He picked up a plate with my salad on it and placed it in front of me on the table.

While he was handing out the food for Madison I took notice of Corey. She was smiling hard. Her eyes were so open and staring at him. Her chest was rising up and down very fast. She didn't remove her eyes from him not once. Not even to look down at her food. He gave her the wrong order. He gave her Madison's plate!

"Okay. Enjoy your lunch ladies." He nodded then pushed the cart as he walked away back into the house. Corey kept her eyes glued to him until he wasn't seen anymore.

"Well does someone have a little crush?" Madison says while she switches plates with Corey.

Corey shook her head quickly and closed her mouth. "Uh?"

"Oh come on. We saw you staring that guy down."

"I mean.... What? I can't stare?"

I smirked. "I don't know wouldn't that be a little stalker-ish?

She glared at me and I snickered.

"Okay. So I like him? So what? It's not like he'll like me back."

Madison leaned forward in her chair. "'So what?' Go after him. You own this big house. You will never go broke because your funded by the future king, and you're beautiful, why wouldn't he want you back?"

Corey looked at me with hope in her eyes.

I nodded and pointed at Madison. "She's right."

Corey sighed. "I just don't like rejection. And have you seen him? He's way out of my league."

"What's his name?" I asked as got up from my chair.

"Mario."

I nodded and tip-toed a few feet away from my chair. "Mario!" I yelled.

"Alice what are you doing?!" Corey said from gritted teeth.

Madison joined me. "Mario! Come out here."

Corey rubbed her face and groaned. "You guys are the worst."

Out from the house's sliding doors came Mario. His blond hair and blue eyes shined in the sun. I finally was able to get a better look at him as he walked. He had strong arms and his shirt was open a few buttons at the top. Revealing some of his chest. His hair was long and curly and it parted at the side. Having some hair cover his face.

When he got closer to us he flashed a smile. All white teeth.

Man, this guy was so out of all our leagues combined.

"Yes. Hello again ladies."

I looked at Corey who was biting her nails off her fingers. "Do you want to say anything Corey?"

She sat there silent still biting her nails.

"Corey has something to tell you." Madison says, ignoring the fact that Corey froze.

He placed his hands in his pocket and looked at Corey with a side view. "What did you have to tell me?"

Corey pulled her fingers from her mouth and finally looked up. "Um...."

We all were silent waiting for Corey to speak.

"Hi." She says. After waiting for minutes.

He chuckled and waved back. "Hi."

Madison walked forward to him and whispered in his ear. His expression went from clueless to something else. When Madison pulled away he nodded and sat at the table with Corey.

Madison walked over to me and took my arm "Come on. Let's leave them alone." She whispered. Then pulled me away from them as we walked together back into the house.

She held the door open while still holding on to my hand. I walked in and pulled her inside, closing the door behind us.

"What did you tell him?"

"I told him 'our friend, Corey, has a crush on you'. He nodded and smiled. I guess he caught on to what I was saying. Then he admitted that he liked her back."

I squealed and squeezed her hand. "Aw. They are going to be the cutest couple."

"I know." She agreed, showing the same enthusiasm.

"Hey, guys." Ashton came around the corner of the hallway with a sad look on his face.

Madison let go of my hand and rushed to his side. "What's wrong babe?"

"Uh. Nothing. It's just..." He looked away from Madison then at me. "You. You have to go talk to Luke." He pointed down the hall. The hall that leads to the stairs.

I furiously shook my head. "No. I'm not talking to that brat for another few weeks."

"Alice. You have to talk to him."

I rubbed my forehead. "Why? So he can start up another senseless argument? Nope. I'm not doing it."

"Am I missing something?" Madison asked.

"Madison, baby, why don't you go upstairs and I'll meet you there."

Madison nodded once before kissing him and walking away. I sat on the lounge chair and crossed my arms when he neared me.

"Okay what happened up there?"

I took a breath and closed my eyes. "If I review the argument over with you. I might get so angry and kick you in the balls too."

"Okay. Maybe I don't want to know. But he's ready to apologize."

"He can keep it. Because I'm not accepting it."

"Maybe you're overreacting."

"He said 'yeah, walk out like you're brother did on you're family'. He knows how I feel about my brother. It's a very sensitive topic. So I kicked him in the balls and I don't want to speak to him. That's not overreacting to me."

"Okay. He said things he didn't mean but-"

"Why are you on his side?" I sat up in the chair and looked him square in the eyes. "Why?"

"I'm on no one's side. I'm just trying to help the both of you."

I firmly smiled. "Then help me out. And leave the topic alone."

"Then I won't be helping you."

I grimaced at him. "Did you not just hear me?"

He sighed. "I know how you feel about him. And if this is how you want to end things then I know he won't get out of your head." He sat on the chair in front of me. "I know he's been on your mind all day."

"Fuck you."

He smiled. "I'm right aren't I?"

I rolled my eyes and got up from my chair. "How is he?"

"Hurt."

I looked at him. "Physically or emotionally?"

"Eh...." He pondered. "Might be both."

I let a breath out and walked down the hall. I honestly did want to talk to Luke, Then again. I still couldn't understand why he would lash out on me. He's got a lot of explaining to do. Or else it might be more than a kick in the balls.

I walked up the stairs and turned the hall.

I hope when I open this door, I won't walk in to a storm.

I wrapped my hands around the door knob and pushed in. Well, tried to push in. The door wouldn't move. So I pushed and pushed then suddenly the door flew open. And I fell in. On my face.

"Alice. I'm so sorry."

I rolled over on my back and looked up at the ceiling. Then a messed up and disheveled Luke came into view. He took both my hands and pulled me to my feet. He quickly hugged me before I can catch my train of thought.

"I am so sorry. I never meant any of the things I said." He said into my neck.

Just a few seconds from deciding to hug him, I pushed him away.

"I'm still mad at you."

"Alice. Just listen. I- I got a call from my dad. Before the plane landed. And what he told me, really got to me."

"So, you doubted me?"

"No... Yes. I'll admit it yes."

I scowled at him. "What did he say that made you so angry at me?"

He looked me in the eyes, but didn't say a thing.

"Luke if you don't tell me. Only God will be able to hold me back from harming you again."

"He said a lot of things." He blurted out.

He paused and looked away. "He said think about it. You didn't like me in the beginning. Then all of a sudden you do. Because you couldn't have Ashton, and all that was left was me. So he made me think about your sudden change in heart, and it really got to me."

It all hit me. "You saw me for a whore? You thought I would marry for money? Luke, I'm not Veronica. I didn't come here for money, I came here to have a chance of making my dreams come true."

I came here thinking I would be the first kicked out and can finally be a Duplet. Be a very famous singer, going on world tours.

"I know."

"And. I never planned to marry. Even as a little girl. I wanted to spend the rest of my life alone. Or marry music. So, marrying for money, would be the last thing on my mind. Ever. And if I lost. I would have become a Duplet."

He rubbed his face and took a deep breath. "Alice. I know that now."

"What is up with you? You're pulling me in, then pushing me out. I tried to make us work. And I thought I was the issue all along."

"It's just..."

"Just what? Are you having trust issues?"

He looked back at me. "Not trust issues. Just issues."

"Then." I walked one foot in front of the other and took his face into my hands. "Talk to me. And don't go all crazy this time."

"I can't."

"Why not?"

"Because. It's complicated."

I squinted. "Well. I tell you everything. Why can't you tell me everything?"

"My issues. It involves you."

I slowly let go of his face. "Oh." I looked away. Hiding any emotion that might show. "I am your issue."

"This is why I didn't want to tell you."

"No." I put a hand up. "It's okay." I looked at him and gave him a smile, with a lie. "I understand."

He sighed. "Alice..."

"I said I'm okay." I say, trying to contain the quiver in my voice.

"Alice. I didn't mean it in that way. You just won't understand."

I looked at him once more. "I guess I won't understand a lot of things."

There was a small pause in our worlds. I don't know if this was heart break or something else. All I feel is shattered. To know that the guy you love say that you're his issues. Is that pain? Is it hurt? I don't know anything anymore. This whole thing has got me fucked up.

"Alice. Can we push this topic aside and enjoy today?" He looked at me for an answer.

I looked at him and forced a smile. "Sure."

.

A/N: Well wasn't this a drama filled episode. Alice basically is living a soap opera now.

OH! And I'm very super sorry about not updating in three days. I lost internet and I've been trying my best to write and update the chapters.

Don't worry. More is on it's way.

Be sure to comment and vote. Oh and share.

Love everything and everyone. xx
