"Yes, yes, we love cracking jokes." Little Temptress gave a fake smile and pouted before eating her food.
Green Tea Sharma and Lady Singh glanced at each other, then looked at Shehnaaz who was sitting across from them. Shehnaaz actually didn't have much of a reaction. The corners of her lips were turned up as she watched them chatter and even winked at them.
Green Tea Sharma couldn't help but sighing and complained to Lady Singh, "I think the three of us just played the eunuchs."
"Eunuchs? What eunuchs?"
Strongman's ears perked up as
he helped Shefali by getting her
cutlery and plates.
"What else? The emperor is not worried, but the eunuchs are worried to death.1" Little Temptress glanced at Shehnaaz with disappointment, scraping her cutlery on the gold-plated bone china butterfly dishes so hard they were screeched.
She was supposed to be the star of the show tonight! How can she let a woman that popped up from nowhere take her spotlight? Little Temptress clenched her jaw agitatedly as she watched the intruder, Shefali.
Shehnaaz was indeed a little
displeased, but she wasn't officially together with Parth yet. What right did she have to stop another woman from flirting with him?
Parth picked up on it too and smiled secretly at Shehnaaz, who was on his other side. He said affectionately,
"Today, Sana was admitted to the B University Faculty of Law as a post-grad student, so we're celebrating for her."
"Class Rep is the one celebrating for her. We're just tagging along." Lady Singh valued titles and status above everything. Her motto was "if the name is not correct, the words will not ring true."
"That's right! You just declared your intention to pursue Sana in front of us yesterday. Why are you mute now that your spare tire is here." Little Temptress was the expert as using her beauty to do as pleased. She neither minced her words, nor cared if people were humiliated by them.
"Ekta Kapoor!" Parth raised his brows and said Little Temptress' full name angrily. "Can you give me some decency in front of strangers? Sana hasn't agreed for me to pursue her. What if you scare her off by saying that?"
Shehnaaz's roommates finally relaxed their expressions once Parth had segregated Shefali as an "outsider"
in one sentence.
Shefali's eyes darkened for a moment, and in a flash she seemed to understand why Shehnaaz's three roommates were so hostile towards her. She burst out laughing. "Maybe there's been a misunderstanding? I've been classmates with Class Rep for six years, and we've always been good friends and true bros. His joys are my joys."
As she spoke, she held her glass and stood up. She walked over to Shehnaaz and signalled a toast to her. "You're Shehnaaz? Our Class Rep's crush? What a delicate and pretty
girl! Don't be afraid, let me know if doesn't treat you well. I'll teach him a lesson for you! He.." looked at Parth
and drawled, "he is just as
sweet-tempered as he seems. He's good to everyone and is especially good to the ones close to his heart."
Parth listened to Shefat's words and said helplessly, "Shefali, are you drunk already? You're not such a lightweight, are you? Why are you giving drunk
speeches?"
"Class Rep, I'm only speaking the truth. I have to let little sister, Shehnaaz, know your good traits! A girl would be
lucky to be with a guy like you. Little Sister Sana, I see that you're an extremely fortunate person. As for me, don't mind me. Don't see me as a woman. I'm a real tomboy!"
"But there's a fundamental difference between a tomboy and a manly b*tch." Green Tea Sharma giggled with disdain.
The words hit Shefali like a slap in the face.
Shefali suppressed her anger and pretended she heard nothing. She set down her glass and straightened up to face Parth. "Class Rep, I especially came out today to thank you for lending me the one hundred and fifty
thousand. I came back to C City to bring the money to my family and they need it urgently. You guys have fun. I'll go now."
Parth stood up as well. "Let me drive you, since it's so late now. It's not safe for a girl to go alone."
"Class Rep, she's a tomboy, not a girl. Why would it be unsafe?" Green Tea Sharma gracefully wiped the corners of her lips with a napkin as she
delivered the seemingly harmless
comment, but her eyes were
scathingly cold. "You came to bring money in person? Haha, who doesn't use online bank transfers in this day and age? Do you want me to show you
how? Why not use Alipay or even Wechat Pay? Why would you need to come all this way to bring money?"
Her statement ripped through Shefali. The girl laughed with embarrassment. Parth sat down slowly as he raised his head to look at Shefali apologetically. "Call me when you get home."
Shefali nodded and waved graciously. "Enjoy the rest of your dinner. I'll be going now."
After she left, the atmosphere couldn't recover. Even Strongman, who usually loved being in the presence of beautiful women that he couldn't be bothered by anything else, was unable to cheer up. A nice dinner had ended in discord.
Parth drove Shehnaaz and her roommates to their dorm. He wanted to speak with Shehnaaz alone, but his
phone rang again. He took it out and saw that it was Shefali he picked up right away.
"Shefu, are you home now? Is
everything ok with your family?"
Shehnaaz turned around to glance at him, but didn't wait.
She went back to the dorm with her roommates. After they got inside, Little Temptress cursed Shefali. "I can see her tricks a mile away!"
Green Tea Sharma put her arms on Shehnaaz's shoulders and assured her. "Don't take it to heart. All men are like that, I've been dating all kinds of men for many years. They can't hide their intentions from me."
Gu Nianzhi burst into laughter and hugged Green Tea Fang in return. She leaned her head on her friend's shoulder and said, "I'm so happy that you're my friend, but you'll have to
keep up with your reputation as a woman who never lets a man get the best of her, you will rabbit!"
"Shehnaaz Kaur Gill you traitor! You dare to tease me? Don't get so cocky!" Green Tea Sharma slapped Shehnaaz on her perky bottom.
Shehnaaz giggled as she pounced on Green Tea Sharma to pinch her cheek. "Green Tea Sharma, how lucky would a man be if he got to kiss you? Look at how tender your skin is. I can almost squeeze water out of it."
"Really? Really?" Little Temptress and Lady Singh also joined in with
kneading Green Tea Sharma. The dorm sounded in laughter and immediately dispelled the previous discomfort from being interrupted by Shefali.
Parth hadn't realized that Shehnaaz had long left by the time he ended the call. Strongman was slumped in the
backseat and spoke up. "Class Rep, do you really like Shehnaaz?"
Parth nodded. "If I didn't really like her, then why would I pursue her? I'm not looking for her money or status.
It's her incredible personality."
Strongman watched the girls' dorm. "That's true. Good luck Class Rep! Though Shehnaaz has no family backing her, her future is unlimited because of her intelligence. She'll
make for a worthy and proud
girlfriend"
"You're always babbling and doing crazy things, but you're actually very perceptive as well, huh?" Parth smiled
as he shook his head and shooed him out of the car. "You go back first, I still have to talk to Sana."
