Faith's POV
"Hey Faith" Elena greeted me cheerfully and i smiled at her, greeting her back
I signed my name on the sheet and made my way inside the hospital absorbed in my phone
Recently there was a lot of news going on about this new mafia boss who was involved in almost all of the crimes and it made me think that the increase in the amount of wounded and often shot patients was because of this guy
As i read through another article while walking down the hallway, i barely payed any attention to my front and as a result i bumped into someone
"Oh shit" i said as i hit my head on a rock type thing and stumbled backwards
The person almost immediately held me and i opened my eyes to see if i had fallen or not
Instead, i saw a handsome face stare at me with worry and I couldn't help but stare at him longer than appropriate
Realizing the situation, I quickly regained my balance clearing my throat
As i glanced around, i saw the ruined shirt of that man and i bit my lip
"Oh no" i said as i took a step closer to examine the freshly white stained shirt and felt horrible
"I'm so sorry" I quickly spoke looking around for something
"Hey, its okay" he spoke this time, his voice soft and sweet
For a moment, i stopped and looked at him
He smiled at me and it was enough to make me believe that he really meant it
"Still i think i should compensate" i said passing the guy my phone
"You can put your number here, i promise i will be in touch and buy you a new shirt" i said unable to come up with something and the man only stared at me
I looked at him confused when suddenly he let out a small laugh
"It's okay Faith, trust me" he said and i felt my heart skip a beat
How did he know my name? I thought until I realized it was on my name tag- what is wrong with me
"FAITH" i heard someone yell my name across the hall and realized how late i was
"I'm sorry i have to go" I quickly said and ran towards the door
I got there and entered the room apologizing to everyone present as i took my seat
The next 2 hours passed by in me doing what i hated about this job
Sitting with the directors and head doctors to discuss the progress, program and all that boring stuff
Honestly, i loved being a doctor because i loved to help patients, but things like these made me want to go home and never come back
Its okay Faith- it's almost time
As soon as the clock hit 12, i dashed out of the room and into the terrace where i could actually sigh in relief
Those meetings suffocate me
I looked at a distance as i stood on the railing, admiring the 3rd floor view from the building
The wind blew calmly across my face and that lovable feeling surrounded my heart
This is why I loved my job- i thought when suddenly the sirens went off hinting it was time to go
I ran as quickly as i could but by the time i reached there, someone had already taken care of it
I sighed as i took a moment to catch my breath
"Faith, are you okay?" Her worried voice spoke to me and i turned around to look at my best friend
"ROSE" i said as i wrapped my hands around her in a bone crushing hug and she hugged me back with the same intensity
"Whats wrong? The meeting?" She said pulling away and i sighed
"god i know you hate them" she said caressing my hair and i nodded
She was the only one who i could trust enough to tell about my daily life
"Faith, someone needs you" the receptionist called me and I gave Rose's arm a light squeeze before making my way to the receptionist
"There's someone at the first floor who's asking for you" she spoke to me interpreting the instructions from the phone and i nodded
I walked to the elevator and then made my way to the first floor
As soon as i reached the first floor, i saw that for some reason it was almost empty
I made my way to the front where i saw an impatient man looking for someone and upon seeing me, the man quickly made his way to me
"You're Faith?" He asked me almost immediately and i nodded
"I need your help" he said as he took my hand and walked me out of the hospital
"Wait where are we going?" I said as I saw we were walking towards the parking but the man didn't answer my question
Soon, i saw a black SUV and call it my intuition or overthinking, i thought this wasn't a good sign
I stopped in my tracks when i noticed the black SUV's door open, but before i could run back
Someone grabbed my arm and dragged me to the SUV
I opened my mouth to scream but someone prevented me from doing so and in only a moment, i was inside the car unable to move
As the door closed in front of me, I realized i was too late to respond
