Street – London – Dawn
The screen shows Harry and Hagrid walking down a London Street. Harry, reads aloud from his list as he trails Hagrid, who draws an eye or two – as a giant in Central London will. "First year students will require three sets of plain work robes, one plain pointed hat for day wear, one pair of dragon-hide gloves..." He reads.
Hagrid chuckles at a parking meter, ignoring Harry. "Things these Muggles dream up..."
Train – London – Dawn
The scene changes to show Hagrid and Harry sitting in a train. Harry sits beside Hagrid, continues to read from his list. "... and the following Set Books: The Standard Book of Spells by Miranda Goshawk. One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore..."
Street/Leaky Cauldron – London – Dawn
The screen shows Hagrid leading Harry, parting the crowd easily. "One wand, one standard size 2 pewter cauldron and may bring, if they desire, either an owl, a cat, or a toad." Harry pauses and looks up to Hagrid. "Can we find all this in London?"
Hagrid pauses by a narrow grey door with a sign say 'The Leaky Cauldron' that stands between a book shop on one side and a record shop on the other. "If yeh know where to go." Hagrid says, mysteriously.
Leaky Cauldron – Day
A dark, shabby pub. In a corner, some old women sit drinking, one smoking a pipe as long as her arm. Up front, a tiny an in a top hat talks to the bartender, who resembles a gummy walnut. Harry and Hagrid enter.
"Hagrid! The usual, I presume..." The bartender greets Hagrid before noticing Harry. "Good Lord. Is this? Can this be him? Bless my soul. It's Harry Potter." The pub goes quiet. Then... everyone is up and around Harry, holding out their hands and gabbling, while Hagrid looks on, beaming. Slowly, a nervous young man makes his way forward.
"Harry P-P-Potter. Can't tell you how p-pleased I am to meet you." The man stutters.
"Professor! Didn't see yeh there. Harry, this 'ere's Professor Quirrell. He'll be yer Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts." Hagrid introduces the man.
"F-F-Fearfully f-fascinating subject. N-Not that you n-need it, eh, P-P-Potter?"
"This pathetic man is the teacher for Defence against the Dark Arts!" Severus exclaimed. He had always wanted the job and to that Dumbledore had given his dream position to this stuttering person annoyed him to great lengths. Was he even working at Hogwarts>
"How is that Quirrell?" Remus asked confused by the reaction. "He just graduated a year behind us and he doesn't stutter."
"Apparently, the story was that he travelled and was attacked by vampires, scaring him." Ron shrugged.
"That's it?" Lucius asked. "That's the story as to why he's stuttering."
"That's all we knew. But then we found out the real reason." Ron said.
"What was the real reason?" James Sirius asked his uncle.
"You'll find out at the end of the movie."
Quirrell's eyes flutter nervously over Harry's scar.
"Yes, well, must get on. Lots ter buy. See? Tol' yeh you was famous." Hagrid whispers to harry as he pulls him along.
Back Courtyard/Leaky Cauldron – Moments Later – Day
The scene changes to show the back courtyard of the Leaky Cauldron. Hagrid taps the bricks of one wall with the tip of his umbrella while Harry stands by, deep in thought.
"Why am I famous, Hagrid? All those people back there. How is it they know who I am?" Harry asks.
"Don' know that I'm the right one ter tell yeh that, Harry." Hagrid sighs. "Let's see now... Three up... Two across... Right. Stand back now." Hagrid gives the wall one last tap and the bricks quiver, wriggling and jiggling until an archway appears, giving out on a cobbled street so long and twisting it seems never to end. As Harry's jaw drops, Hagrid grins. "Welcome, Harry. To Diagon Alley."
Diagon Alley – Continuous – Morning
As Harry steps through, the archway shrinks instantly into a solid wall. All around him, Harry sees mother and fathers with children in tow, clutching lists similar to his own. He is now in Diagon Alley, voices reach their ears as they walk past them.
"Seventeen Sickles an ounce for Dragon Liver, can you imagine? They're mad!"
"It says brass, Trevor. As such, you will get brass."
"There it is! The Nimbus Two Thousand! Runs a good twenty times faster than the old Comets. Neil Marks himself rides it for the Chudley Cannons."
"Mind you don't drop your bottle of eel's eye, Belinda. I'll not buy you another."
Harry tries to take in everything at once, marvelling at shops specialising in everything from cauldrons, owls and broomsticks to robes, 'unmentionables,' and spell books.
"Dragon Liver?" Harry reads from a label. "Do they mean from a real dragon?"
"Well, they don't mean a ruddy penguin." Hagrid jokes. "Crikey, I'd like a dragon." He mutters.
"You'd like a dragon?" Harry repeats.
"Vastly misunderstood beasts, Harry. Vastly misunderstood..."
"They are." Zoe spoke up. "Everyone are absolutely horrible to them, they only act in self-defence." Zoe took a brief glance at Remus when she said her second sentence. She remembers his thoughts about himself. "They aren't monsters." Remus eyes widen. He looked at James an Sirius, who had noticed the same thing.
Harry is seen looking in a cauldron shop. "But how am I to pay for all this, Hagrid? I haven't any money."
Hagrid gestures to a towering, snow-white building ahead. It was Gringotts. "There's yer money. Gringotts. Wizard's Bank. No place safer, Harry. Not one. 'Cept perhaps Hogwarts."
Gringotts – Day
The scene changes to show one hundred goblins sit on high stool at a long counter, scribbling in ledgers, weighing coins in brass scales. As Harry and Hagrid enter, a clever-looking goblin closes the door behind them, watches their every step.
"Uh, Hagrid, what exactly was that?" Harry asks the gentle giant as he looks back to the clever-looking goblin.
"Who, Potter. Not what." Zoe said as her eyes did not move from the screen. Harry just ignored her.
"Yer basic Door Goblin. Clever as they come goblins, but not yer most friendly beasts. Best stay close." Hagrid steps up to the teller. "Mornin'. Mr Harry Potter wishes to make a withdrawal."
"And Mr Harry Potter has his key?" The goblin did not look from his desk.
"Let's see, got it 'ere somewhere..." The Goblin looks on disfavourably as Hagrid rifles his coat, producing in rapid succession: a jangly ring of keys, one ball of string, a fistful of mint humbugs, two teabags, and a moth... which simply flutters from one pocket to another. "Ah, 'ere's the li'l devil." He leans closer to the golbin before whispering. "There's another matter as well. I've got a letter from Professor Dumbledore. It's about the You-Know-Wat is Vault You-Know-Which."
"Very well. I'll have Griphook take you."
Stone Passageway – Gringotts – Day
Close-up: Griphook.
A swarthy, slit-eyed goblin, driving a small cart with white-knuckle precision down a stone passageway lit with flaming torches. They plunge deeper, come whistling to a halt before a small door. Griphook steps out, takes Harry's key and unlocks the vault, revealing great glittering pyramids of coin. Harry is speechless.
"Din' think yer parents would leave yeh with nothin', did yeh?" Hagrid whispers to the small boy.
"Why doesn't Harry have more vaults than the Slytherin? He's older. He's the chosen one." Ginny scoffed.
"He is not older. Zoe is." Barty said. Everyone looked at him. "Zoe has more power being the first-born, especially since she is the first-born of a first-born." He pointed at James... who decided to wave at everyone. "She has the right to the ladyship of many Houses. House Potter. Because of James Potter" He gestures to James again... who waved again. "House Ollivander. Because of Garrick Ollivander. House Black because of Narcissa Black."
"But Narcissa has no right to give Zoe the heir title of House Black." Sirius interrupted.
"Actually, she can." Regulus said before Barty could. "Since you were removed from the family tree and clearly, I am not present in the future. Andromeda also having been removed from the family and Bellatrix been sent to Azkaban. Narcissa is the next in line despite being married to Lucius, she still has Black Magic and Black Blood, she has every right to name an heir of the House of Black." Regulus explained. This shut Sirius up.
During the silence, Barty decided to speak again. "Continuing... she has the right to House Prince because of Severus Snape, the son of Eileen Prince. House Peverell. Because of James Potter. Descendant of Ignotus Peverell's granddaughter Ioalanthe Peverell." Gasps filled the room.
They saw my inheritance test, they saw House Peverell. Why are they acting shocked? Zoe thought to herself. Gryffindors are so dramatic.
"And let's not forget the remaining four." Severus said. Every Slytherin in the Hall stood up alongside him and he spoke. "House Gryffindor. Slytherin. Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. She owns Hogwarts. She was given the ladyship of those houses by Lady Magik herself. That is how powerful she is." All Slytherins turned to look at Zoe... and bowed in allegiance to her.
The Great Hall was filled with silence. Noticing the tension, the movie had started. No one knew how.
Cart – Passageways – A Few Minutes Later
The scene shows the cart hurtles even deeper, abruptly stops.
"Vault Seven Hundred Thirteen." Griphook speaks.
"What's in here, Hagrid?" Harry asks.
"Can't tell yeh that, Harry. Hogwarts business. Very secret." Hagrid says, secretly.
Groans escaped from the marauders (except James, who looked at them in confusion).
"He shouldn't have said that in front of him. Now he's going to be finding out what it is. He's got both James and Lily in him." Sirius joked.
Griphook steps up to a door with no keyhole, strokes it with one long finger, and it simply melts away.
"Anyone but a Gringotts goblin tried that, they'd be sucked through the door." Hagrid says.
"How often do you check to see if anyone's inside?" Harry asks the goblin.
"About once every ten years." He response.
Harry peers into the vault, sees... a grubby little package. Hagrid slips it into his left coat pocket, returns. "Best not mention this ter anyone ither, Harry."
