"Aaagh..." Ruggie cried out
Savanaclaw Students yelled out. "Gwaaah!"
"What?! My nose is dryin' out... M-my eyes hurt!" Grim covered his face
"Everything the housewarden touched is turning to sand?!" Jack said, clearly shocked
"That'd be my signature spell. "The King's Roar." Ironic, isn't it? Nothin' the savanna hates more than a drought. Yet its prince's magic desiccates everything-reduces it to sand." Leona explained
"B-boss... It huuurts...!" Ruggie was struggling
"Ruggie's arm! The skin is cracking!" Deuce's eyes widened
"Your spell can legit dry out a HUMAN BEING?!" Ace backed up
Riddle pointed his pen at Leona. "Leona, I cannot allow this to continue! Off With Your Head!"
"Myah?! Riddle's collar bounced right off!" Grim exclaimed
"Maybe you're some kinda prodigy, kid, but don't go thinkin' you're smarter than your elders. I aced my Protective Magic classes in my sleep." Leona scoffed
"Tch!" Riddle said
Leona smirked at Ruggie. "Hah! How do you like that, Ruggie? Does it hurt? Is your mouth too dry to keep licking my boots? That was your finest talent, too."
Ruggie was struggling speak. "Ngh... G-gaah..."
Jack's eyes widened. "If we don't stop him, Ruggie's gonna...!"
"Whatever it takes, stop him!" Yuu yelled
"If you have that much power, why do this?!" Riddle asked
Leona frowned. "Why?" What do you care, kid? You gonna scold me? Try to talk me down? Don't you get it? Power alone ain't enough to make waves in this world. Look at Ruggie here. He's like a muzzled dog. Pathetic, ain't it? Hard not to pity him."
"Urrr...ggghhh..."
"That's enough! "Unleash the Beast!" Jack yelled, as a bright light surrounded him
"What just-" Riddle's eyes widened
"AAAAARRRRROOOOO! GRRRRR! AAARRROOO!"
"He...transformed?!" Yuu questioned
"Whoa, what just- Gah!" Leona said
"He broke Leona's concentration! "Off With Your Head!" Riddle collored him
"GAAAAAH!"
Ruggie started to cough. "*gasp*... *cough* *cough*"
"That was beautiful, Riddle! You stopped Leona's magic cold!" Cater praised
"And he let go of Ruggie! This way, quickly!" Deuce exclaimed
"Sebek, let's get the wounded somewhere safe." Sliver said
"Do not presume to order me around, Silver!" Sebek angerliy said
"No... NO! You can't collar a lion!" He glared at Jack. "And Jack! How did you... Transformation potions are forbidden! Where did you get that?" Leona growled
"I didn't use a potion-that's my signature spell. With it I can transform myself into a wolf." Jack explained
"Ha! What's that saying? Every dog has his day? Well I guess you had yours!" Leona smirked
"Housewarden Leona, I want you to know... I only came to this school because of how much I admired you!" Jack exclaimed. "What happened to the man you used to be?"
"Shut up... Your dreams got nothin' to do with me!" Leona scoffed
"I understand the irony of me being the one to say it, but it pains me to see you like this. You'd be wise to confine yourself to your room and try to calm down!" Riddle said
"What do you know about how I feel?!" Leona glared at Riddle
"Would that the lion king of the savanna could witness this absolute farce. No, if you ask me, the collar suits you far better than a crown ever could." Lilia said
"...Huh?!" Leona was taken aback by his words
"You may bemoan the fact that you're not higher in line to be king.
But with that sensitive ego of yours? That so quickly directs all your petty anger at your retainers... Well, the idea of you ever contending with a REAL king like our Malleus-is absolutely laughable. Even if you COULD defeat Malleus, so long as that's how you choose to conduct yourself? You would never be fit to rule!" Lilia smirked as he angered Leona
Leona started to laugh. "Hah... Ha ha. Yeah, you're probably right. No, you're EXACTLY right...! Ha ha ha ha! I will never become king. No matter how hard I try!"
"Myah?! All my fur's standin' on end!" Grim exclaimed
"The magic power within Leona is surging... I don't think my collar can hold it!" Riddle yelled
"No. That isn't magic power. That's negative energy, which means..." Lilia trailed off
"Everybody, get down!" Cater shouted
As soon as everyone got down to get cover. The collar on Leona's neck flew off to the ground.
"Riddle's collar flew off?!" Cater questioned
"I've been loathed since the day I was born. I've never had a place, never had a future! None of my hard work is ever rewarded! How could any of YOU possibly understand? MY disappointment?! MY pain?!" Leona yelled as his anger grew. "AAAAAAAAAH!"
"GRRRRRAAAAAWWWWWRRRRR!"
"What's happening?! Some kinda giant shadow is comin' outta him!" Jack exclaimed
"That's the incarnation of his blot!" Deuce said
"Is he goin' into evil darkness berserker mode like Riddle did?!" Grim yelped
"If you can move, seek shelter! Ace, Deuce, help me take the wounded outside!" Riddle said them turned to Lilia. "Lilia, please get help from the faculty!"
"On it!" The duo said
"Understood. Stay strong until I return!" He said before disappearing
Leona let out a roar once again.
"Why does this keep happening to us? This is soooo not my #brand!" Cater frowned
"If you're afraid, feel free to run." Riddle told him
"Trey wouldn't let me hear the end of that." Cater sighed. "We do this together, Housewarden!"
"I dunno what's going on, but if we hit Leona hard enough, maybe we can snap him outta it?" Jack pumped his fists
Ruggie slowly stood up. "I... *cough* I'll help too... *cough* No way am I taking what he said lying down!"
"So even the lowly hyena turns against me?" Leona said before laughing. "Ah ha ha! What a total joke!"
Grim looked at Yuu. "Yuu, if we can take this guy down, they'll let us play in the tournament! Give it everything ya got!"
"He's coming for us, guys!" Yuu exclaimed
♡Azubah Pov♡
I need to quickly get to Yuu and Grim. Luckily Malleus and Cater's clones fixed the stampede problem so now all I have to do is get to Savanaclaw.
As I got into the Mirror Chamber I see Sliver and Sebek escorting wounded people out of the Savanaclaw mirror.
"What's happening?!" I ran up to Sliver
Sliver looked panicked. "Azubah, I thought you were with Malleus?"
"He and Cater's clones already solved the problem so he said I can go to Yuu." I explained
"I can't believe Housewarden Leona would overblot." I heard a student say from a far
"There's another overblot! Is Yuu still there?!" I asked, heading towards the mirror
"W-wait Azubah it's dangerous!!" Was the last thing I heard before going through the Mirror
|Savanaclaw Dorm|
{Third Person}
Once Azubah went through the Mirror, a wave of sand greeted her. Her eyes were dry just from a few seconds in here and it felt like breathing in shards of glass every time she inhaled.
"Why is it more dry than the last time I was here?" She coughed
Seeing bright lights and hearing yelling from the stadium Azubah made her way there since it's our was pretty obvious the battle was over there.
When she got to the stadium Leona was about to send an attack in Yuu's direction. Thinking fast, she summoned her snake to shield Yuu from the blow
Since Riddle and the others were sending magic attacks left and right, Leona didn't notice Azubah yet.
Azubah sent a large purple spark towards the glass jar behind him causing the jar to shatter.
As soon as it shattered, Leona turned back to his regular state.
"I...will...be...king." He muttered as he lost unconscious
Yuu's body also fell unconscious but unlike Leona who fell in the ground Yuu was rested on the snake.
Azubah ran over to Yuu to check on him.
♡Azubah Pov♡
"Hey! Wake up!" Grim's voice was first thing Leona heard when he woke up
Leona binked his eyes. "...Huh?"
"I did it! He's awake! I was startin' to think you weren't ever gonna regain consciousness! Now, hurry up and confess." Grim exclaimed
Once Leona woke up so did Yuu.
"Yuu! You're alive!" I hugged as he hugged me back
"Why did you think I was dead?" Yuu questioned
"Humans are weak." I mumbled as I helped him up
"Wh... What?" Leona gained Yuu's and I attention
"Mr. Kingscholar. Your negative energies accelerated your blot accumulation, inducing an overblot episode. Do you not remember?" Crowley asked him
"Wait, ME...? I overblotted? No way..." He said, shocked
"And more importantly, the Spelldrive tournament is about to begin. I'm gonna need you to confess that you're the culprit, so I'm allowed to enter!" Grim got closer to Leona
"Heh. If this is a joke, I ain't laughin'." Leona said
"The headmage got Grim's group to investigate the accidents in exhange for letting them compete in the tournament." Jack explained
"Whaaat? THAT'S what this has all been about?" Ruggie said in shock
"You bet it has! And EXCUSE you?! You were the one pushin' people down stairs for the chance at a little fame and glory!" Grim remarked
"Urk... W-well... Fair point, I suppose." Ruggie sweatdropped
"Is he correct? Were you responsible for the series of injuries sustained by competing players?" Crowley asked
Leona admitted to it. "...Yeah. That was me."
"Very well. Then to begin with, Savanaclaw House will be disqualified from this year's tournament. The rest of your punishment will be decided after I discuss it with the victims. Are we clear?" Crowley put his hands on his hips
"...Understood." Leona agreed
"........." Ruggie and Jack stared at Leona in silence
"Headmage, wait." Riddle stopped him
"Mr. Rosehearts? And I see you're with... Ah." Crowley's widened as he saw the students behind Riddle
"Correct. They are the victims in this incident." Riddle nodded
Trey began to speak. "Headmage, speaking on behalf of the victims, I have a request for you. We would like you to permit Savanaclaw House to play in the tournament despite their crimes."
"What...? Are you saying...you wish to forgive their crimes?" Crowley questioned
"You guys..." Ruggie said
Jamil quickly shot down that thought. "No. That's the last thing we want."
"If Savanaclaw is disqualified from the tournament, we'll lose our chance at revenge." Trey smiled
"Wh-whaaat?!" Ruggie exclaimed
"Revenge?!" Jack repeated
"After all, fighting with magic is forbidden on campus." Riddle crossed his arms
"But during a Spelldrive game, it's all in the name of sport, right?
It just happens to be a sport where players face off using the fullest extent of their magic." Trey smirked
"Yeah. If we lose our chance at revenge, it'll gnaw at us all year!" A Heartslabyul Student said
"We throw down the gauntlet! Duel us!" A Pomefiore Student threw his glove down
I was about to pick up his glove again but Yuu stopped me, shaking his head.
"Plus, I dunno what happened here, but it looks like it left the Savanaclaw kids in even worse shape than we're in." Jamil pointed out
"What we're saying is: now that we know who did this, we have an opportunity to hash things out on the field instead of letting grudges fester." Trey said as the other students nodded in agreement
"You've said it yourself, Leona-fighting doesn't break school rules if it's a part of a Spelldrive match!" Cater grinned
"Normally, I would demand their heads. But if Trey and the others insist on settling their grudges on the field... I am willing to overlook their disregard for the rules this once." Riddle said
"So you're breaking the rules?" I questioned
"I understand where you're coming from. However, the question is: Are these Savanaclaw students even capable of taking to the field?
Mr. Kingscholar has only just regained consciousness!" Crowley looked at Leona up and down
"Heh heh... Ha ha ha! Don't you underestimate me, Crowley." Leona grinned. "I wouldn't even need to be awake to handle this sorry pack of wounded herbivores."
"Wow. Now THAT is audacious." Jamil said
Leona had a smirk on his face. "I got no intention of bowin' to anyone. If you want my apology, come and take it."
"Do we have your blessing, Headmage?" Trey asked
"Dear me. Aren't I the fool for thinking you all wanted to talk about your feelings?" Crowley sighed. "Your petition is granted. Savanaclaw will be allowed to participate in the tournament, as originally planned. And as headmage, I very much appreciate that this will keep our little scandal under wraps as the whole world is watching."
"Wooow, nice example you're setting, Headmage." Yuu deadpanned
"*ahem*!" Crowley cleared his throat. "Well, the spectators have surely grown weary of waiting for the players to appear. Do make haste."
"All right, let's-" Leona said before getting cut off by Ruggie. "Urk! That hurt..."
"Don't think you've earned my forgiveness." Ruggie glared at Leona
"Right, and?" Leona mumbled
"Still... I couldn't tell you why, but...It still pains me to see that pathetic look on your face. Your usual smug, sneering grin-somehow, that suits you better. So come on, now!" Ruggie said then grinned
"Laugh With Me!"
"Owwww! Ruggie, what are you doin'...?!" Leona exclaimed as he mimicked Ruggie's grin
"Shyeheehee!" Ruggie laughed, grinning at the male. "I can't tell you how long I've wanted to do this!"
"Knock it off! Now!" Leona growled
"You guys are a buncha idiots. ...Heh." Jack let out a small laugh, smiling at the two older males
"You actually laughed!" Yuu smiled
"I... I did not!" Jack denied
"He's acting like my brothers..." I mumbled, remembering how some them denied that they liked MC
"I owe you guys for this. Thanks to you, I'll be able to go out there and give 100%." Jack said
"But on that field, we will be enemies. We will hold nothing back." Riddle said with a smile
"I wouldn't have it any other way!" Jack exclaimed
