Frost, Devil, & Hulk
Noah and I decided to go watch the boys fight. I was a bit shocked to find out that Jake fights but Alex says he's pretty good so I'm not that worried
Alex and Kaden are already 17 while Noah and I still have a month left until we're 17.
Jake turns 17 next year... On June 29th.
He's the youngest so i guess that's why Alex and Kaden are so protective over him.
We met the boys there then waited for Alex's opponent.
"Goodluck Alex" I say
"He doesn't need luck. He's like a ninja in there. He's not as good as me but he can handle himself" Jake says
"Thanks Nova" Alex says ignoring Jake

"Frost is the winner!" The guy yells
"Frost?" Noah asks
"Jake picked our names" Alex says taking his hand wrap off
"Who's next?" I ask
"Me! God I'm so excited. Kinda nervous tho" Jake says digging his nails into his hands.
"Hey it's just like any other fight. This is what you've been practicing for. You can do this Jake." Alex says with a hand on Jakes shoulder
"Just focus and don't listen to what they say" Kaden says
"Alright alright. Nova i'll win this for you my love" He winks as i laugh
Kaden rolls his eyes and Alex smirks at him
"He's gay right?" Noah asks
"Why would you ask that you idiot" I say
"What do you mean? He just called you ' My love ' but Kaden said he called me hot" He says
"Don't tell me you're jealous" Alex teases
"Jealous? I met the kid 5 hours ago so why would I be jealous?" My idiot twin says
"Shhh it's starting" I say
"Hulk Vs. King"
"Hulk?" Noah laughs
"It was his favorite super hero growing up. He would pretend to be hulk 24/7. He said he fights like hulk so the name fits" Alex says
"Cute" Noah whispers
"I heard that" I tease
"Shut up"
Jake takes a hit to his jaw and stumbles a bit before landing 3 on king. King throws another punch but Jake dodged it and swung his fist into kings side. I guess it knocked the air out of him cause he leaned forward making Jake raise his knee into Kings face.
"Hulk Wins!"
Cheers are heard all around but the 4 loudest come from the 4 people Jake considers friends and family.

It's finally Kadens turn to fight. He doesn't look nervous at all.
"He wins every fight" Alex whispers to me
"Is that why he's not nervous?" I ask
"I guess yeah. He doesn't really get nervous for things. He just let's everything be" He replies
"Hold my phone. Dad keeps calling so just shut it off or something" Kaden says to Alex then turns to me
He looks so good right now.
"Why are you looking at me like that"
"Like what?" Playing dumb is the way to go.
"Like you're about to kill me"
"Doesn't sound like a bad idea to be honest" I say
"You're 5'4 Nova. You wouldn't be able to take me down"
Yeah right.
"I'm 5'5 idiot. And you've watched me fight. You know I can handle whoever gets in my way Kaden"
"And you're about to watch me fight so you'll know not to spill another smoothie on me" He says before walking into the ring
"It was an accident" I say to the boys
"You sure?" Alex asks smirking down at me
"Shut up"
Kaden let's his opponent throw the first jab then starts throwing punches at that poor guys face. The guy kicks Kadens side so Kaden grabs his leg and makes the other guy fall. Kaden gets on top and lands one more punch to finish off the fight.
"Devil Wins once again!"
"Devil? Seriously Jake?" I say
"Kade is his nickname and Cade from The Vampire Diaries is the devil so it's perfect. He hates The Vampire Diaries so don't tell him that's why i chose that name" Jake says before Kaden comes back
"He doesn't know?" I laugh
"Know what" Kaden asks before grabbing his water from Alex
"That we're going to in n out to celebrate my glorious win" Jake says

We all ate at in n out and talked til 12 AM. Anna let us stay out but said it wouldn't be her fault if we were tired for school tomorrow. I don't regret it. It was honestly so fun. They're my first real friends and they get along with Noah.
Even Kaden and I talked a bit. He laughed at my jokes but I think he still hates me a little bit.
We had to talk about the project and we agreed to keep working on it in class instead of doing it outside of school.

I'm walking to Anna's class when someone suddenly steps in front of me.
"Hi, I'm Matt"
"I'm Nova"
"I was just wondering if I could have your number? You're really pretty and I just wanted to get to know you" He says
What the hell am I supposed to say? I don't want a boyfriend yet. I haven't even had my first kiss. I don't know how to reject someone. God this is so awkward
"Uhh sure"
He's about to give me his number when someone puts their arm over my shoulder and 4 boys stand next to me.
"Hey sis. who's this?" Noah says
I look to my right and I swear Noah is staring into Matt's soul. I look to my left and I'm a bit shocked to see that Kaden is the one with his arm around my shoulder.
"Uh this is Matt"
"I was just asking her if she had notes for english since her aunt is the teacher" Matt stupidly says.
idiot.
My brother isn't that scary. Kaden is though so I guess I understand why he's scared.
"She doesn't so you can leave now" Kaden says.
Matt walks away making Noah laugh while Alex and Kaden smirk.
"That was so mean" I say.
Noah turns to me then his eyes go to Kadens arm that's still on my shoulder.
He pushes Kadens arm and brings me to his side.
"You're too young to have boys looking at you Nove. I'm your brother so it's my responsibility to make su—"
"You guys are being unreasonable. She's almost 17. She's new here so you should let her have fun. Maybe not with Matt but Ian is pretty hot so maybe you can fool around with him" Jake says
"No" Noah says.
"She's a teen. 16 year old girls want to have boyfriends and first kisses and—"
"No" My twin repeats.
"Wait were you talking about Ian from my team?" Noah asked
"Yup. Nova said he's hot so I've been planning on getting them together. Kade and Lex won't help but they're useless anyways"
Kaden smacks the back of his head.
"Jake I told you i didn't want to get with Ian" I remind him
"There's no way Ian is dating my sister."
"Okay okay okay guys I'm right here. I can date whoever I want but I'm not looking for a boyfriend right now so please shut up"
"So operation Nian is a no?"
"Don't make anymore ship names Jake"
"I make no promises"

It's been almost 2 weeks since I've been hanging out with the boys. They're good friends and I've never been so happy with my life. I'm still in shock that Noah and I don't have to deal with our Mother. I still think about her all the time though.
It's the weekend and my phone is blowing up with texts from Jake. He put me in a group chat with Kaden and Alex and he won't stop texting.

Jakeeyy : We should all hangout tonight!
Have you guys seen the new spider-man movie?

Nova: Okay! What time?
Jakeeyy : This is why you're my favorite.
I'll pick you up at 6:30 my loveee
Jaden : We'll pick both of you up.
Jakeeyy : Now you wanna go? I wonder why...
Nova: No way I'm giving him my address.
What if he kills me in my sleep?
Jakeeyy : He hasn't killed me yet so i doubt he'll kill you
Jaden : Don't be too sure.
Alexxx : Send the address Nova. We'll see you soon.

"Noah get the door!" I yell trying to find my stupid left shoe
"No" He says but I hear him open the door anyways.
Idiot.
Noah's Pov
I open the door and see Jake with his back turned to the car where Kaden and Alex are waiting.
"Nevermind she opened the door" He yells at his friends
He turns around shocked to me instead of my sister.
"Oh"
"She asked me to get the door. She'll be down in a minute" I say.
"Uh okay" He says then makes his way inside
"I didn't invite you in" I say
"So? Mi casa es tu casa right?"
"No"
"Yeah yeah whatever" Jake says as he goes through the fridge.
"Stop going through our fridge"
"This is why Nova is the better twin"
"And I'm the hotter one right?" I ask.
I've never had girlfriends but i've also never thought about any guys the way i think about Jake. He's my sisters bestfriend so I think i should lay off but it's so fucking hard when he's always around.
"No" He says facing the fridge.
"Hm I remember Kade talking about how hot you thought I was"
"No"
I'm pretty sure he's blushing but his back is facing me so i can't see.
"No what?" I ask walking towards him.
"We're gonna go see spider-man" Jake says trying to change the topic
"I know"
"Huh?" He asks turning around.
His eyes widened when he sees how close I am to him.
"Novas my sister. She told me where she was going"
"Oh. Right. Okay. Speaking of Nova, I should go get her"
He tries to leave but I put my hand on the fridge behind him and step closer as he steps back. He's trapped.
I lean closer and look into his eyes. I look at his lips then back to his eyes.
"Upstairs. First door on the left." I say then step back and walk to the couch and unpause my movie like nothing happened.
It takes a few seconds but I eventually hear Jake run upstairs.
So fucking cute.

Novas Pov
"Nova what is wrong with you?" Jake yells as he barged into my room.
"Jake help me find my stupid shoe" I say
"What? Nova i'm having a crisis" Jake dramatically says
"Huh? What's wrong?" I ask standing up since i was looking for my shoe under the bed.
Jake looked panicked for a second then looked around my room.
"Your shoe is on your vanity you idiot" He says
"What the fuck" I whisper
How did I not see it?
"Cmon the boys are waiting"

Jake and I cried during half of the movie. Why does peters storyline have to be so sad?
"Why are you guys still crying?" Kaden asks
"Do you not have a heart? Peters life is ruined" Jake says wiping his eyes
"I feel so bad for him. He didn't deserve everything that happened" I say with tears running down my face.
"Guys look!" Jake happily yells like he wasn't crying a second ago.
A photo booth
"No way" Alex says
"Yes way. Let's go" I say pushing Alex and Kaden
"No" Kaden says
There's only one thing to do now.
Jake and I use our best puppy dog eyes on them
Alex sighs and Kaden stares at me for a couple more seconds before both of them walk to the photo booth.
Alex puts 5$ into the machine then gets in first.
Alex and Kaden sit on the small seat then Jake makes his way in and sits on Lexs lap. I awkwardly get in not knowing where to sit. I try to just stand there but Kaden grabs my hips and seats me on his lap.
"Thanks" I say cause what else am i gonna say? Thanks hottie? Thanks my friend? I'm not ever sure we're friends yet
"Mhm" he says
"Should we do black and white or birthday themed" Jake asks
"It's not anyone's birthday Jake" Alex says
"Then we'll do animal themed since you and Kade look like monkeys" Jake says before we both burst out laughing.
"You guys aren't funny" Kaden says
"Yes we are" I say
"Just do back and white and hurry it's too fucking small in here" Alex says
We take the pictures twice then I attempt to exit the small photo booth but Kaden still has his arm around my waist.
"Move your arm Kaden"
"Say please"
"Do you not want to get out of here?"
"Not really. I'm pretty comfortable" He says
Alex and Jake laugh then get out from the other side.
Traitors.
"Please Kaden"
"Try again"
"You told me to say please you dickhead"
"Why do you use my full name"

"Please Kade"
He stands up leaving the booth slightly lifting me up so he technically carried me out. Why does he have to do the most??
"Nevermind I like it when you call me Kaden"
"What why?"
"You're the only one that calls me that"
"I guess i'll start calling you Kade then" I say giving him my best smile
He narrows his eyes but can't say anything since Jake starts ranting about needing sugar.
"You just ate candy during the movie" Alex says
"Please please please let's go get ice cream" Jake begs
"No"
"We'll get the tiniest scoop in the world" I say
"You guys are so fucking annoying" Alex says before him and Kade walk towards the food court.
Jake and I squeal but immediately shut up when Alex and Kaden turn around to glare at us.

Jake and I ended up getting 2 huge scoops of ice cream.
The 2 angry dinosaurs were mad but eventually moved on.
"Wake up Nova" Someone says flicking my forehead
I slap their hand then rub my eyes.
"You guys fell asleep on the way back. Is Jake still sleeping over?" Alex asks as i glare at Kade for flicking my head
I look down and Jake is fast asleep on my lap. He's so adorable sometimes.
"Jake wake up" I say poking his cheek
"He's not gonna wake up" Kade says
"Then carry him in or something" I suggest
Both Alex and Kade look at each other then play rock paper scissors a couple times before Kade groans and gets out of the car.
Idiots.
I close the door and lead Kade upstairs to my room.
He lays Jake down on my bed while I take off my shoes.
"Your room is so boring"
"Well i just moved here like 2 weeks ago so i haven't decorated" I say looking at him through my vanity mirror while i struggle to take off my necklaces.
He looks conflicted.
"What?" I ask
He looks at me then walks towards me and helps take off the 3 necklaces I was wearing.
"Thank you Kaden"
"Mhm" He hums
His hands trail from my neck down to my waist.
"What are you doing?" I whisper
We're staring at each other through the mirror then he turns me around to face him. What the hell is he doing?? I thought he hated me
He looks into my eyes then my lips. He leans in and gives me a kiss on the cheek.
"Goodnight Nova" He says then leaves my room.
What the fuck.

( It's the same night ) (Thursday 11:30PM)
I couldn't sleep all night. Jake woke up at like 9pm and we ended up watching movies downstairs. He fell asleep on the couch and I couldn't wake him up so I just came back to my bed.
Kaden is the first boy that's been stuck in my head like this.

I mean I had a boyfriend once in like 7th grade but it was one of those cringe middle school relationships that lasted a week. I couldn't really make time for personal stuff while taking care of all the bills and mom anyways.
I couldn't have done it without Noah. I feel like I just pretend everything's fine so maybe one day it really will be. Our mom hurt us more than anyone but I did love her.
Sometimes she was nice. She would play with my hair and say I was her bestfriend. She would tell me I was the most beautiful princess in the world. Then she would do drugs and drink until the truth came out.
She was nice when she was sober but I didn't recognize her when she was drunk.
She called me useless and said we were the reason dad left. I don't remember my father but how could it have been our fault? We were one. They were the adults. Noah and I had to deal with so much trauma just cause of their problems. Noah just started sleeping alone. He's almost 17 and he's just learning how to sleep without me.
I just don't think any of this is fair. I can push everything away but I can't handle knowing everything Noah has been through.
We met a man named Isaac when we were about 11 or 12. He taught us how to fight then became our manager. He was the father figure we desperately wanted and the parent we needed. He died 2 years ago. I think out of everything that's happened to us, Isaacs death was the worst thing that hit us.
I could never express how badly I wanted him back. He gave the best advice. He told us we would make it one day. He gave us all of our hope that we would be okay.
Noah walks into my room while I was crying.
"Can't sleep?" He asks
"No"
He lays next to me and pulls me into his arms. I look at the clock on my drawer.
12:01 AM
October 21st
"Happy birthday isaac" I whisper
"Happy birthday" Noah repeats
"I miss him so much Noah" I sob into his chest
"Me too Nove. We'll be okay though. We were lucky enough to have met him and learn everything we needed from him. He said we would make it one day and I think we're halfway there"
"We both have a great group of friends and don't have to work so much anymore. We're gonna be 100% happy one day Nove I can feel it" He says with tears streaming down his face.
"Nove?"
"Yeah?"
"Why is Jake sleeping on our couch?"
I laugh and shrug
"Couldn't wake him up so now he's staying down there"
"He's adorable" Noah says
"You like him?" I ask
"Goodnight"
That answers my question.
"Goodnight Noah"

I couldn't go to school today. I explained everything to Anna and she let Noah and I stay home. He's been in his room all day so i've just been making sure he's eaten but i don't have energy for myself right now.
Jake woke up and made his way to school alone. I tried telling him I didn't feel good but he knew i was lying. He said I didn't have to talk about it and that he would check up on me later. He's the best friend I've ever had.
I think after these few weeks everything finally hit me. We're not with mom anymore. We left home. Mom is all alone. It's been almost a month since I've talked to her. What if she's dead? Who's taking care of her now?

Nova : All good! Just didn't feel well this morning.
