"Maxy, don't jump on mummy Lauren, you might hurt her."
"Sorry..."
"It's okay, kiddo. You excited for your party?" i say, waking up.
"Yep! Granddad and Grandpa are coming too!" i guess my nerve-racking dream came from my real life nerves of meeting Emma's family for the first time.

I know it's a dream.
I'm not stupid; my mother died 23 years ago.
But the memory of her death lives long in my mind as i struggle to get out of this deep sleep.
Yes, we're back again, and no, my father isn't in jail yet.

I'm brought out of my thoughts yet again by the sound of a plate crashing onto the floor that was once in Emma's hands.
"Emma? What's wrong?" i rush over to her side.
I follow her eyeline to see a man around Emma's age smirking directly at her.
"I hope i didn't miss the party. Hey Max, buddy. I missed you."
"Daddy?!"
