With a release of the pin from bakugo's arm grenade costume, came a giant blast engulfing izuku midorya along with it. Shaking the whole building.
Every spectators shares the same feeling, extremely worried for the well being of the greenete brocolli. Except for rimuru who had a wide grin, displayed on his face.
"I thought this was just practice!!" Kirishima said, shocked by the practical realism. Of bakugo's action that could endanger a persons life.
"YOUNG MIDORIYA!!" Allmight screamed
Through the screen as the smoke clears, there stood izuku unharmed, but the same could not be said to the broken concrete wall behind him.
A large hole marked by a devastating shot of power, and yet the target stood, strong and alive. Not a single burn mark present.
Bakuko realising, was sacred for a moment. He knows that izuku wpuld have dodge that. And yet somehow he didn't this time. He did alter the direction of his target to showcase his explosion, hitting izuku directly at full power wasn't his intention.
But instead of showing his concern with his action, he was displeased.
He wasn't happy, anger surges inside of him.
Why, he thought.
Why was he unarmed.
When he saw his power, he thought it was some kind of physical strengthening quirk, so whats this black mass coursing around him.
"YO- DEKU I'M GOING TO CRUSH YOU!! SO DON'T HOLD BACK" Screamed bakugo, anger evident on his face.
"Ka-kacchan... " Izuku trembling at his feet, stares in horror at the damage.
He could have dodge it but didn't, for a moment he felt something in him. All his fear fades away, after everything cleared. Everything suddenly came back and he couldn't stop imagining what kind of state would he be in right now if it werent for black mass around him that shares the same appearance and motion of a fire.
"All this time, YOU LIED TO ME!! You had a power, a quirk this strong. Something that could defend against my attack" He walked forward, towards the cowering izuku. His sight locked on him, driven by his anger and frustration "STAND UP AND FIGHT ME!!"
Moments earlier when bakugo releases his pin, iida and uraraka was already in action.
"Was that bakugo?" Iida questioned at the strong quake that shook the building. "What is he doing?"
Uraraka perked up, using her quirk on her self after seeing the chance, moving forward towards iida who was assesing the situation.
At the moment he noticed uraraka coming towards him, he moved ahead to block her way. But unexpectedly, uraraka jumps. Floating away from iida who was caught off guard.
"So you can levitate yourself" he commented, amaze at what uraraka powers can do. Looking at her, he knew she was aiming to get a grab on the prop bomb to take the win.
But he wasn't going to let that happen.
Dispel, uraraka says with a sure win face "this special move takes a lot out of me"
Iida moved, his legs turbo on boost, manuevering on ground, grabbing the prop bomb before uraraka gets a hold on it.
Surprised, uraraka tumbles down not finding the time to land properly after missing her target.
"Your quirk posses no threat as long as you can't touch anything" iida on his villain mode says like a villain on a kid show "Now struggle as i continue to take away your precious time! Gu ha ha ha ha"
Uraraka gets up, though she failed. She still had hope "i'm counting on you, deku" she muttered
Reaching at her ear piece, uraraka answers a call. It was izuku
"Whats happening, Uraraka?"
"Oh, ignoring me i eh? DONT GET COCKY!!" Bakugo dashed ahead, his arm stretched put as a series of explosion forces izuku to retreat
As a new round of battle unfolds, allmight voice interrupted with an announcement.
"Bakugo, use that move again... and i will forcibly end the match, you will lose. Using massive attacks like that indoors is just asking to have your own stronghold destroyed. Wether your a hero or a villain, it's a bad move and a good way to lose points"
Allmight knew that as a teacher, he should stop the match now after what bakugo did, but somehow something tells him that there is more to see and that everything will be ok.
However such thought shpuldn't sway him, his main reason for not stopping is izuku. Showing a strong determination after.
"ARGH! COME ON MAN!" Bakugo rages after being probihited to use his strongest attack.
"TIME TO POUND YOU!!" using his explosion, he dashes towards izuku, nearing almost instantly at the supported force.
Izuku seeing the incoming bakugo, couldn't help but tremble. Being scared, his mind panicking what to do.
He pushed in panick, as bakugo lifts himself up with his explosion. Going behind izuku as he blast him on the back.
"Gargh!!" Izuku groaned.
Continuing, bakugo releashed a combo on izuku, hitting him with a right hook and a grab on his hand.
"Your nothing COMPARED TO ME!!" Bakugo rages as he lift izuku up, supported by the explosion to accelerate the speed as he slams izuku down on solid concrete.
He's not giving me any time to think, he's way too strong. Using one for all could incapitate me in the whole match, how did i use megicule back then?
As izuku thought of a way, his classmates judges his brash unheroic action.
"This is just torture now!!, he already could've ended it with a capture tape"
"Not very hero like of him"
"I thought midoriya was good, but... Bakugou's battle instinct can't be beat"
Along with the negative comments, there came a few positive.
Some are quiet about it. Some wanted to go and help.
Rimuru just stares at the screen watching everything go.
Izuku gets back up. He stands strong not running away. Taking on a stance with a smile.
"Why... Why... WHY DON'T YOU USE YOUR QUIRK!! ARE YOU MOCKING ME!!?" Bakugo marches forward, gritting his testh hard. His anger reaching a boiling level "EVER SINCE WE WERE KIDS! YOU ALWAYS HAVE!"
"You're wrong, i-" Izuku tries reaaoning but was cut short.
"I KNOW YOUR LOOKING DOWN ON ME!!"
"It's because your so awesome that i wanna beat you!!" Izuku screamed on the verge of crying "I WANNA WIN!! I WANNA BEAT YOU!! YOU IDIOT!!"
"STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT YOU DAMNED NERD!!"
Both of them rushes at each other as they release their battle cry, roaring at the moments. Serious by their words.
"URARAKA!!" Izuku shouted, enough to hear through uraraka's ear piece.
"DETROIT SMASH!!" Izuku's fist aimed upward, taking large chunk of the building away. As bakugo blasts izuku with an explosion to his face. Blocked by his hand, partially covered by a black mass, now in the shape of smoke instead of fire.
"Sorry iida, but we gotta improvise" A planned move, Taking this chance, by grabbing on a pillar that was loosened, lightened by her quirk as swings the pillar like playing baseball as the small chunks flys ahead.
"Comet homerun" Uraraka nanmes her move.
"THATS NO HOMERUN!" iida was rained with rocks debris.
Having to shield himself, uraraka reaches at the props bomb.
"SECURED!!" Like a koala on a tree, uraraka secures the bomb with a hug.
"AH THE WEAPON!!" Iida still on his villain mode said in surprise.
"That... That from the start, you've been mocking me" Bakugo said, his teeth clattering. He landed a clear blow but never did any damage "YOU'VE BEEN MOCKING ME!!"
Having enough strenght, izuku looked up. Clearing his bleeding nose "I didn't want to use it, because i can't really" Showing his left hand that was in a bad state "The blowback of this power messes me up very badly, and the other... I can't control it yet properly. It's just like aizawa sensei said, so i think very hardly to find a way to win. Thats all i did and thats all i could do"
Izuku could probably cover his arm with black flame or black lightning, but it could get dangerous if he lost concentration, the time when he was covered by black flame probably just by luck on the sheer moment.
"But don't worry, because next time... I.. Will definitely beat you" Izuku declares with a smile.
"THE HERO TEAM WINNS!!" Allmight declares "The losing team are nearly unscathed while the winners are down for the count, they lost the battle but won the war, so to speak"
'Deku read me like a book. All calculation to win, because his power messes him up' as the realization hits. Frustration came 'In a battle, in a full fight. I would have lost to deku'
Such thought was unbelievable to him, but that was how he see's the outcome will be. Their situation is very much like a lion and a pack of wolf. The lion at it's peak towering the wolves in physical capabilities while the wolf thinks of a way to win.
Like a life in a wild where strenght is not the only key strenght.
"Bakugo, lets head back, it's time for your grading" Allmight suddenly appeared. Unnoticed by bakugo "Wether you win or lose... You can always come out ahead by learning through experience, so don't let it get to you got it!?"
two units of mini transport robot came with a stretcher going towards izuku.
Izuku was amazed by the technology, tgere are training robots and medical robots. This just adds to his enthusiasm.
"Please, lay down" The Robot spoke, calling izuku.
He just walk to the nurse office, but he think he might collapse any moment if he sturbbornly walk.
Following it's words, izuku lays down. Sharing a smile to bakugo as he was bought away by the robots.
Allmight then escorted bakugo back to the monitor room. As he declares, iida as the M.V.P of the first round.
The time was spent asking why iida was the M.V.P and yaoyorozu explaining everything down to the last detail.
'Raphael, what happened?' Ask rimuru remembering izuku's change on battle.
He notices a change of movement and from his expression, it was like a toy being manually controlled.
This got him worried and tried sensing the surrounding area when it happened, but couldn't fimd anyone suspicuous or doing the controlling.
Raphael then began explaining <Due to the lack of a guardian to guide the use of skill. The shared power from izuku turns his mind in a clear state, his instinct and skill knowledge taking over t->
"Simplify it" Rimuru interrupted.
<In the cardinal world, the voice of the world guides every skill holder across all levels. Upon acquisition, individuals gain knowledge of how to wield their bestowed power, In this World however. There is no equivalent being to the voice of the world to guide them, and abilities stem solely from genes, awakening and strengthening through training. In Izuku's case, his megicule drives his body to familiarize him with the power, typically triggered in dire situations or, at times, occurring only once
In other words, the megicule evolves into a controlling guide skill with an unkown time activation>
"Wait, don't i have the same ability? Back at the orc lord. If i rember correctly, i handed you the control... Isn't that the same as his?"
<Very different, unlike his case, he can't know when is the control will shift while master can do it manually>
"Ok lets just drop the sibject, i'm not even going to ask anymore. I guess magical stuff wasn't my thing. I'm glad i have you raphael" Rimuru praises. Then soon came the 2nd round.
The practice continued for long until dawn came.
In the end rimuru couldn't participate in the team battle due to the lack of time, but instead was graded by nezu with the versatility of his quirk.
He was however given a test in the training grounds, everyone has gone back to their homes. Except for a few.
Todoroki and izuku was left to watch rimuru.
They had been told they can go but didn't, izuku wanted to see rimuru on action.
However the case for todoroki was different, he was there to asses rimuru's ability.
"This is a simple rescue mission, this will be a short round. Save the mini robots against the villains, robots ofcourse" Allmight cleared "Are you ready?"
Rimuru gave a nod, saying he was ready to go at any given time.
With a touch of a button. The gates downs, 5 robots came rushing to rimuru.
These robots were inferior to the ones at the entrance exam, but it has a high battle intellect.
They were programmed to stop or catch rimuru and prevent him from reaching the mini bots.
'Let see, they already saw the black flames with izuku, but it was faint, so it should be fine. But what about in the future?'
<We can fix that problem later, it's okay master> Raphael assured.
Trusting her words, rimuru unleashes a black colored lightning that courses tbrough the geond towards the robots, incapitating them in mere seconds. Rimuru made sure to do a little damage only enough to restrict their movement.
"That was easy" says rimuru as he leaped towards the mini blts, unexpectedly a disc flew at high speed, hitting rimuru at the head with his guard down.
"OW!!" rimuru held his head, despite not feeling any pain. His human nature acted in reflex thus making him act like he was hurt.
More disc flew from the incapitated robots.
Looking at it, rimuru saw their arms transformed as they shoots more discs.
Rimuru releases a wave of ligjtning, everything chaining at every disc to the end. Destroying the robots gun.
Landing at the mini bots as he deckares victory.
And just like that the day ended, in the U.A gates, izuku stands alone waiting.
Seeing rimuru, he waves high and ran towards him.
"Rimuru!" His eye glimmers in joy, excitedly he said "Did you saw? I manages to use black flame"
Meeting his entbusiastic gace, rimuru couldn't help but laugh a bit. In his point of view, this sort of meeting is like a son meeting his dad after work.
But izuku's smile fades, soon was replaced with a worried face "something weird happened though, i- "
And before he could finish. Rimuru shushes him quiet and explains what raphael had told him, removing some of the parts abput the voice of the world and skill.
It was a different explanation, constructed by Raphael by rephrasing and changing the words
As soon as he heard this, his smile came back. He waves saying good bye as rimuru went on his way.
