| Chapter 3 |

"Deepali, please."

"No."

"My love, c'mon."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"YES!"

"I said NO. N.O. No!"

Sultan groans, running a hand through his messed up hair as his blue eyes peer at Deepali, who was blowing steam out of her ears at the moment. Slumping against the chair, she glared at her phone, refusing to go pick up her Mehendi outfit.

"Deepu yaar," Sultan groaned and then shut up quickly under the intensity of Deepali's glare.

"If my Madz and Trishu aren't here by tomorrow, I refuse to marry you!" she huffs, missing Sultan's classic eyeroll.

"Look if Madz nemesis is present, you think she will show up that early?" Sultan sighed, taking a seat on his chair across her in her bridal suite.

"You have a point. Yet after so much time has passed I still don't understand what happened between them?" she mumbled, placing her phone down on the dressing table.

Sultan internally sighed, his wife-to-be had no idea Madhubala and Trishna were landing within two hours. To get her out of the house he made an excuse to pick up her mehendi outfit, however madam was not budging because her lovely besties were not picking up their phone, and they happened to be her cousins as well.

"She will tell you when she is ready Deepali, but she will come before the mehendi, I promise!"

"She hasn't been picking up my phone for the past two days, Sultan. How can you guarantee she will be here? She's ignoring me, and calling Trishu is pointless, that girl never lifts her phone anyway."

Deepali was worried as her mehendi was in two days, however the two most important people in her life hadn't showed up yet. Though Madhu was older than Trishna and Deepali, the two doted over their older sister like mothers, driving her up a wall sometimes.

He walked over to her and held her hand, pulling her out of the chair.

"Sultan!"

"I know you're worried but they will be here the day before the mehendi alright, just 24 hours more and you will see them, but please come with me to the store," he told her and she let out a resigned sigh.

"You win!" Deepali said and ordered him to carry her to the car as she was too tired.

He chuckled and dashed down the hall with her in his arms, making her scream at him loudly. They drove to the tailor and got Deepali's outfit, then he texted Madhu to see if she landed, which she had. Deepali had knocked out in the car because it was currently 7 pm and bridal duties didn't allot her time to rest.

Sultan drove carefully to the airport, parking on the side where passenger pick up was, then gently nudged Deepali awake.

______

Madhu and Trishna grabbed their luggage bags, dashing to the exit of the airport like crazed women on a mission.

Madhu's sunglasses nearly fell off her head as she ran outside, the automatic doors sliding open and Trishna chuckled while Madhu panted out of breath.

Scanning the road in front of her for a familiar car, she frowned and placed her sunglasses on top of her head, a beautiful smile blooming on her lips as she saw the white van park next to them, Sultan coming into view as he was in the driver's seat.

"They're here!"

Trishna squealed and Madhu grinned as she heard Deepali yelling at Sultan from the passenger seat, then looked at him dash to open Deepali's side of the door.

"Ladies and jet-lagged ladies, may I present to you Ms. Bridezilla," Sultan dramatically pushed Deepali in front of him, holding out his arms as the girls laughed.

Deepali stood shell-shocked, surprised that her best friends, her sisters, were here and they went to embrace her together, squishing her between them.

"You guys love me this much?" she whispered, and then her eyes welled up as she hugged them both tightly.

Madhu smacked the back of Deepali's head, earning a slap back and heard her sunglasses fall to the ground.

Sultan grabbed them off the ground and wore them, grinning like the buffoon he was.

"How could we miss your wedding for anything? And above all our drama queen's radiant smile?"

Madhu beamed as Trishna nodded in agreement and nudged Deepali in order to make her stop tearing up.

"Depressed Sultan ki Dayaaniya - I mean Dulhaniya," Trishna snorted then continued, "Don't cry so soon, it isn't time for you to say bye to us. Not now, not ever."

"God I missed you both so damn much!" Deepali sighed, embracing the two once again, and they both smiled, hugging her tightly.

"We missed you too Deepu," Madhu whispered softly.

Madhu broke the embrace gently as Trishna started talking to Deepali about her wedding events, and they both stood there as Madhu grabbed the bags, turning around.

She rolled her eyes at Sultan who was checking himself out with her sunglasses in the car window.

"Gadha number one," she taunted him, smacking his shoulder and he groaned.

"I've been called that once already today," he pouted, placing the sunglasses on top of his head as Madhu chuckled.

"Well you are," she pinched his cheek making him glare at her, then smiled at her.

"I missed you, you goofball."

No matter how much Sultan annoyed her purposefully, she didn't think of it as bothersome, she considered him her younger brother in the truest sense. She missed seeing her family daily together, and she'd known the goofball since he was just a little kid. Madhu thought to herself how different life would be had she spent her college years here in India, close to her loving family, rather than shifting abroad with Trishna to finish her Bachelor's and Master's degree.

He lifted Madhu up, making her shout in protest and he grinned, hugging her tightly. Deepali and Trishna laughed at the scene in front of them, as Madhu was turning red due to embarrassment after getting a bunch of looks being lifted up by hulk himself.

"You said you missed me!"

"Gadha," she muttered and shoved his arm lightly, making him laugh loudly.

Madhu cracked a smile, grabbing the luggage and he helped her load the trunk with their luggage and Deepali and Trishna did too, as they all settled into the white van, heading off to the resort where the wedding festivities would commence.

Back at the resort

"Where is this child? Rishabh? Rishu beta!"

Radha walked frantically through the long hallway, looking for her eldest son, while clutching onto the end of her silk saree.

"Ma, Ma calm down, I'm right here," Rishabh smiled, his dark brown eyes sparkling with excitement as he walked towards her.

Radha sighed in relief and looked at him, frowning as she looked at his formals.

"Go change! I set your kurta out on the bed, are all the decorations done for the arrival of the girls?"

"Haan Ma, Sultan and I finished the hall together for the surprise."

Radha caressed Rishabh's hair lovingly, smiling at him.

"Accha beta, go get ready while I find your father and Deepali's parents!"

Rishabh watched Radha walk off to the other end of the long hall to find his father. He smiled, thinking of the surprise they had set up for Deepali...and her.

He walked to his room to get ready and before he could step into the bathroom, his phone buzzed.

"Hello, Sultan?" RK picked up the phone, setting his towel down.

"RK, the girls are getting suspicious, I don't know how long Trishna will be able to hold them off," Sultan mumbled into the phone.

"Did you check them in the guest house near the resort?" RK asked.

"Yes Bhai, but there's a problem...how do I tell them to freshen up and wear the outfits?"

"Okay don't stress, Maa arranged for their clothes for the pooja, it's in that black bag itself, in your trunk. Just make an excuse with the pooja okay?"

"Alrighty," Sultan grinned and hung up the call.

Rishabh sighed and then called Sultan back.

"Beta, you have to change too. Maa wants you to wear the kurta," Rishabh told him and Sultan groaned.

"Bhai yaar, please," he whined, stomping his foot on the ground and RK chuckled.

"I have to wear it too, okay? I'll be out in 15 minutes, and meet you at the backdoor of the hall. Have Trishna lead the girls to the front door okay?" he instructed and Sultan hummed in acknowledgement.

"Okay thanks Bhai!" Sultan chirped, then hung the phone.

Rishabh grabbed his towel and ran into the bathroom, freshening up within minutes. Haphazardly running a brush through his hair, he set it properly and adjusted his dark blue kurta, frowning as it wouldn't button up fully.

"Damn it," he muttered, struggling with the buttons.

Radha had gotten him one of those kurtas which wouldn't button all the way, and he realized that, frowning at his reflection.

He frantically ran to his luggage, grabbing a light blue scarf to cover up, placing it around his neck, then glanced at the clock. His dark eyes widened as he had only two minutes to get Sultan in, so he dashed outside of the room, running down the hall, nearly running into Radha.

"Rishu!" Radha gasped as he steadied her by her shoulders, passing her an apologetic smile.

"Sorry Ma!" he exclaimed and Radha raised a brow watching him run like a madman to the end of the hall.

He yanked the door open to see Sultan on the other end, pulling at the collar of his blue kurta nervously with one hand, the other raised in the air ready to knock the door. Grabbing his wrist, RK pulled Sultan into the hall, and shut the door.

"Damn Bhai, you look alive," Sultan let out a low whistle, glancing at Rishabhm who shot him a deadly glare.

"Shut it, you look like a donkey as always," he rolled his eyes, making Sultan smack his arm pouting.

Rishabh dragged his brother down the hall, ordering him to shut off all the hall lights.

"How the hell are we going to see headass?" Sultan protested as Rishabh yanked the power switch cabinet open.

"Simple, phone flashlight gadha," RK taunted.

He flicked the light switch off and the entire hall was engulfed in darkness. The next thing he knew, a bright light was shining right into his eyes. He groaned as Sultan held the flashlight in front of his face, which was irritating his eyes.

"Put that down," Rishabh whispered, pushing his hand down and Sultan rolled his eyes.

"Bhai seriously. Now can we go meet the girls?"

"Patience is a virtue beta."

"A virtue I don't have!"

"Clearly," RK chuckled, leading Sultan to the entrance.
