Cut apples decay quickly,
their white flesh turning brown before our eyes.
Reminding us that perfection fades
and that time is relentless.
Swiftly our lives spread out before us;
pouring into cracks, drifting into corners,
constantly crossing paths.
We bump into each other blindly in the night
but are too quickly distracted by disintegrating dreams
fading from the darkness into the light of a new day.
