Y/Ns P.O.V
I managed to find Mirio and Eri. As I walked over Eri caught sight of me, I put a finger to my lips and signalled her to come over.
She looked up at Mirio, who was distracted by a menu that a food stand had, before she came over and I picked her up “Are you having fun?” She nodded before tilting her head “I thought you were on patrol?” I hummed and began walking “I was supposed to be but then Aizawa gave me another opportunity to prove myself!” She tilted her head further and I laughed “Which would be teaching you, under Aizawa's watch obviously, but we'll worry about that later! For now, I want to catch sight of that beautiful smile I've heard all about!”
She cuddled into me as I kept walking but I then heard Mirio yell “ERI! Oh no, Y/n is going to kill me! Excuse me, have you see a five year old girl, grey hair, red eyes... No... Okay, thank you.” I began running as I could hear Mirio coming towards our location.
“Shouldn't we wait for Lemillion?” I shook my head as I looked around “Nah, he loses Tamaki all the time, he's pretty much prone to losing people so he'll just suspect he's done it again. Now, I have my favourite little girl all to myself, let's have fun!”
She kept pointing at all different types of stalls, me taking her to each one.
“Is that your stall?” I looked to where she was pointing and became completely baffled. It was called 'Foxys Cafe' and the students running it were wearing white fox ears and a tail.
I shook my head before smiling “Let's go over there!” I walked up to it and the girl at the front squealed “Guys, the actual Foxy is here!” I tilted my head “There's no way you guys dedicated your stall to me?”
They all nodded, another girl then speaking “You help every student at U.A. even those of us in business studies, so we wanted to do something for you.”
A boy with blush on his face then spoke “As well, it promotes you as a hero!” I looked around completely in awe, Eri then pointed to a stuffed artic fox toy “It's you!”
The girl behind the stall picked it up and held it out “Here... We should of really asked if we could base our stand off of you.” I carefully accepted it, they then yelled in panic “No, please don't cry!” I smiled and wiped my cheeks with my forearm “Happy tears...” I lifted the teddy up “Thank you... Actually, how did you get this?”
“Well, we were learning about hero merchandise and we were told to design our own and submit them to businesses, Hiroto-” She pointed to the boy “submitted a design for this plush and the company loved it, they asked who it was of...” She looked to Hiroto and he then shyly said “I told them is was U.A.s guardian... They liked that even more and asked for contact with you, but obviously we don't have any of your information but your name, so we told them you'd be here today...”
“And here I am! It is so good to finally meet you L/n! Oh, and is this your hero getup, spectacular! I'm Asahi Kobayashi, owner of Heroic Toys, and I'd really like to put you on my shelves!” I blinked at how enthusiastic he was, I then asked “But have you ever seen me fight?”
He shook his head before pointing at me “No, but your adorableness will have you flying of the shelves and climbing the ranks of popularity!”
Eri then cheered “Y/n saved me!” The man froze before looking at Eri “Oh my gosh, how adorable, you could be the child on the adverts! So cute!” I held Eri closer to me and looked around, but didn't see anyway I could get out of this.
“Thank you for the offer Mr Kobayashi-” I was going to try turn down his offer but then I saw the hopeful look on the students faces and how Eri was looking at the plush in my hands “It really is a great offer, but also a lot to think about, so could you perhaps leave it with me for a while? I know that most likely is an inconvenience but I'm training to be a teacher right now, as well as preparing to be a hero, so there's just a lot going on all at once.” He nodded “Oh yes, that is completely understandable! I don't want to rush you into anything, how about you give me your email and I'll contact you with everything you'll need for the agreement?” I nodded and passed the plush to Eri who happily took it “Yeah, that sounds great.”
Once I had exchanged information with him, he went of on his merry way as I then went to explore more with Eri. Eventually Mirio found us and took Eri to see 1-As performance.
I decided to continue walking around, rushing over to Aizawa once I saw him “A- Shota!” He turned and raised an eyebrow “I thought you'd run with the opportunity to have fun, not come running back with it!” I laughed as I stopped in front of him.
“I've had fun, promise! Also, did you know some first years in business dedicated their stand to me?” He nodded and asked “Why?” I crossed my arms “Well, I found it. They'd then organised a company owner to meet me, the owner of Heroic Toys, and now I'm really beginning to see your views.” He chuckled as he began walking again, I decided to follow him.
“Why, what did he say?” I let out a breath “I asked if he'd even seen me fight before. He said no, but that I was so adorable I'd just fly of the shelves and increase in popularity... Since when did becoming a hero become so revolved around popularity and appearance?” He patted my shoulder “Since the dawn of time.”
“Y/n!”
I turned at hearing Eri yell, I covered my mouth at the wide smile she wore. Aizawa chuckled and picked Eri up “Happy tears kid, don't worry.” I wafted my face to try and stop my tears “Sorry, it's just your smile is so beautiful- you just let Shota pick you up...” Eri nodded and grinned “If Y/n trusts Mr Aizawa, I trust him too!”
I smiled and pinched one of her cheeks gently “I couldn't trust a single person more.” She reached her hand over and wiped my cheeks.
I let go of her cheek and looked around “Where's Mirio, wasn't he supposed to be looking after you?” She shrugged “He lost me!” I laughed slightly “What's new... Did you enjoy 1-As performance?” She nodded quickly “They were really good! I wish you could have been there!”
“I wish I could have been there too! Now, what else do you want to do?” She looked around and rubbed her chin “I heard some people talking about a beauty pageant?” I raised an eyebrow and took her from Shota “You want to go watch the beauty pageant?” She furrowed her eyebrows together “I don't know... Is it fun?” I gave her an awkward smile as I remembered my first year.
“Lets nominate L/n for the beauty pageant!” I looked up from my desk “She's sure to win!” I didn't get asked, they just shoved me in and on the day I was stood backstage with many girls that wore pretty dresses.
I was wearing a f/c winter themed dress that had white fur coating the bottom, sleeve cuffs and the collar, with a belt that went around my waist and a black bow tied underneath the collar. The torso also had white fluffy balls sewn to the front, mimicking bottons. I then had on white knee high socks with f/c flats.
I was eventually called out to the runway, I walked out slowly with my hands together in front of me. “Does she actually believe she's beautiful? She literally has an ugly scar right on her cheek.” I then heard someone else reply “Must have gone blind in that eye.”
I brought my fingers to my scar and gently traced it, whispering “I didn't go blind...” I reached the end and didn't really know what to do, I couldn't transform at all because the dress would just fall to the floor.
“Aren't they supposed to showcase some sort of talent once they reach the end?” Many made noises of agreement “Perhaps she doesn't have any talents.”
Someone then yelled “Oi, scar face, do something! Has anyone got a water quirk?” Someone else then piped up
“I do!” The boy who asked turned to him “The show is all yours!”
Water shot at me and I transformed, my dress falling onto my fox form. “Woah, she disappeared! Thank god.” Most laughed at his comment.
Soon enough I heard everyone walk away until I heard someone close by “Are you okay?” I poked my head out the neck of the dress to find a boy with blond hair and button blue eyes, Amajiki stood behind him nervously.
I brought my paw up to my face and wiped before nodding. Hado then walked over “I'll go take her to the girls restroom so she can change.” Hado picked me and the dress up, walking away.
The year after we all became friends for Mirio joined our class and recognised Nejire and me, bringing us all together.
“Yeah... They're fun.” I smiled, Shota looked at me confused and I said to Eri “The beauty pageant actually brought me, Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki together!” She looked shocked “Really?” I nodded.
