i turn my phone off as vance comes up to me. "who were you texting?" he asks "oh just a friend" "which friend" he asked sounding very defensive. "donna" i respond "donna? popular donna?" he asks raising an eyebrow "yeah." "cool cool" he responds before walking off to his car. i follow a little behind him.
we get in his car while some faces looked confused.
it was silent for a bit
"do you like her?" he asks and looks over

"donna.."

"she's my bestfriend i can never like her"

"what were you guys texting about?"
i froze not knowing how to respond

"shut the fuck up" i say. he then puts the address in his phone and i soon start driving again.
it was silent until we got there.
he got out of the car first. i sat there for a bit
"you coming?" he asks. i sigh and soon get out.
i walk behind him.
"mom i'm home!" he says.
i look around and it's a nice home. decently sized and clean. very clean. much different from my house. it's quite and nice.
"they're not home" someone's voice says. i look over to the stairs and a girl comes down. she looks young, "where are they?" bruce shrugs
