AHMED

"If isn't it the one and only Miss Aisha Teslim. I am so honored by your call ma, I wonder what might have occurred for you to grace me this beautiful afternoon with your majestic call" I said sarcastically, ensuring the traffic light was green before moving. " Oh my, and how's UK or should I said Kaduna"

" Abeg, Ahmed cut the crap"

I could only imagine how  Aisha was definitely rolling her eyes

"Yes I am fine, Abuja weather is lovely. Thanks for asking sweet sister" I said

We both bursted into a thunderous laughter at that very moment.

"But in all seriousness......" I began

" I know ,I know. And I am really sorry. It was a last minute decision" Aisha said sounding really sorry. " I has some feminine matters and I know you're tired of me discussing all these girls issues with you"

Did I mention how extremely close I was with Aisha my sister, because of how close Aisha and I are, I know everything about a woman. Colours, clothing and even body lotions. There are times I follow Aisha for her facials and also photoshoots.

With Aisha owning one of the biggest fashion empire here in Abuja "House of Tes" . I knew so much about female clothing

"What is wrong Aisha" I said parking my car by the side of the road to attentively listen to what Aisha was about to say

"It's nothing really" she began. " just the whole step mom issues and all of that. She's fond of saying certain insensitive things'

" Aisha baby, you need to calm down. Okay? Whatever step mom as said to you is something you should have gotten used to. She can never replace our biological mother and I'm sure that's why it keeps paining her" I said trying to sound tough

"It's fine walahi, eh Ahmed abeg please help me branch my shop I don't understand what is happening there, a client called me and started racking on the phone about her cloth which hasn't been sewed " Aisha said

" I resemble errands boy ahbi. Fine I will do that. Come ooooo You know say your father and his wife de Ghana ba?" I said starting the cars ignition

"Na honeymoon ahbi kini!!!. That woman acts like she's the first person to marry" Aisha said being Savage as usual " Incase daddy calls to confirm my whereabouts please tell him I went for a business trip at Zaria "

We said our goodbyes and i was happy to hear from Aisha. She was my elder sister but we surely act like twins

Having a mental note my father said I should even go to his friends house and collect some documents. I quickly turned right to the express leading to Wuse zone2

HANEEFAH
Taking pictures with my brand new Polaroid camera was one of the best things to have ever happened to me

I was indeed happy and so so grateful to my uncle's wife for this beautiful gift

The more I take pictures the more excited I was. I would one day get the opportunity to travel all around the world it has always been my dream to be on a world tour and InshaAllah I believe it will come through.

We spent 30mins going through all the processes that shows we were truly given the scholarship.

"Finally the bus is here" I muttered to myself

It was the school bus and we all board into

I sat at the back seat as usual, close to the window so I can finally get to take amazing pictures.

I had always loved my company and been on my own.  I didn't really have much friends to be honest.

I had Maryam my childhood friend though but the things she had said to me is making me question our friendship, maybe the friendship isn't real or the love and loyalty has never been there.

I have always had loyalty in me no matter what happens. Once I have committed myself to a friendship I will stick to it throughout.

Clearing Maryam's thoughts off my head, I decided to go through the instructions of my Polaroid camera. I was so engrossed in reading it that I didn't noticed a girl was sitted beside me .

"Hello" she said trying to get my attention

"Oh sorry, hi" I said back to her

Yet again ,it was that same girl I met earlier at the airport in Nigeria.

Should I call this my village people sending a spy or what because I don't get it. At the airport she sat next to me now this again. But in as much my guards were alert there was something about her, her aura.

I loved her aura she had this nice and friendly aura around her. But yet again I wasn't here for Friendship or anything. I was here for my education.

It was definitely an awkward silence and I could tell she was expecting a sort of introduction but I wasn't in for that .

I was going through the instructions leaflet and I finally understood it how to use my camera

I started taking random pictures of whatever I saw.

Then suddenly a man stood up and started. It was the man from the airport. Which I later concluded was a staff of the school

"Welcome to Ghana our esteemed students, we are glad to have you all here in our great prestigious institute. Here in Ashesi university we give our students the best quality education.. .............." the man said

His speech was indeed boring that nobody was paying attention

"This man is boring and by the way I love your camera, it's beautiful" she said to me whispering

"Uh, thank you" I whispered back loud enough for her to hear.

Ghana is beautiful, more beautiful than i had expected. Oh goodness I couldn't wait to explore every hook and canals

We finally got to the schools main entry and wow it was a sight behold. This school is indeed massively Huge.

"Alhamdulilah Alhamdulilah Alhamdulilah!!!" I kept on saying

The bus finally came to a stop and one by one we all came out of the vehicle.

"Welcome to the great Ashesi university" our instructor said once again

We were all taken to the reception for confirmation and registration.

It was indeed a long process especially for those of us who were on scholarship.

The school was to resume September but for those on scholarship we were asked to come a week before resumption for clearance.

Batch B2 was the last batch and they would be arriving tomorrow morning.

It was a west Africa scholarship therefore all accepted students from West Africa countries were here.
Countries like: Togo, Cote D'Ivoire, Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Gambia, and ofcourse Nigeria was here.

Parts of my plan has always been to travel all over the world

I was in batch B1 and from batch B1 all in all we were 10 in number just from Nigeria.

After going through the accommodation procedures . We were given room Numbers.

Exhausted and tired I walked along the hallway and started looking for my room number. I was so tired to even look around I just wanted to crash on my bed and sleep. The thought of knowing I haven't prayed both Zuhr and Asr prayer made me more frustrated and sad

I kept on praying to God for a good roommate, i have heard so much about how some roomies are wicked and cruel.

I could remember so many stories I heard from ya Halima and Maryam about how some roommates despises each other. God knows how much I didn't like girls, part of the reasons I had such few amount of friends especially female friends

Speaking of ya Halima, I remembered home. I needed to call them badly I'm sure they would be worried sick about me. And my mother oh dear mother, I haven't heard from her but I'm sure she would have gotten back to Kaduna by now since Abuja-Kaduna train was a 2hrs journey

I then remember this particular story ya Halima told me.

One of the roomies wanted to on the fan and the other didn't want it on. It turned into a really big fight that they started beating up each other, other students had to call the attention of security guards to settle their dispute.

Another I heard from Maryam was about two roomies fighting over a guy. One of the roomies ended up pouring acid into the other girl's face

The more I heard of these stories the more scared and frightened I got

I was an easy going person but I wasn't mentally stable. A born Breed Yoruba girl like me but in as much I wasn't into for drama but I always loved to watch one

After endless searching through this mighty hallway. I looked back at my key holder and it was 66, I checked the first door I saw by my right, I was getting to the an end road and  I saw 90. I was so lost in my head that I must have walked pass number 66 now I had to go back again floor by floor.

After endless retracing I came to a halt

Finally I was on a floor I looked up and saw "floor 10-30"

It was then I understood how it was arranged. This was my first time in a hostel. I didn't know how it worked or what I was supposed to do. Majority of the schools I had written post utme for I didn't get to enter their hostels immediately after the exams I usually travel back to Kaduna

I looked around and saw "floor 30-50" . Okay I was definitely getting close

Finally "floor 50-70" I gently walked around it and saw  my room number "room 66" was written boldly.

"Bismillah" I said praying deeply for a good roommate

"Good evening" I said noticing a girl already in the room she was arranging her things so I didn't get to see her face as a result of she backing me.

It was a room of 3 and it was very spacious. There were two empty beds so I assumed the 3rd person is yet to come

"Evening" said the voice which turned out to be the girl from the airport, to my seat mate at the bus and now my roommate!!!

"Oh my goodness" I said looking shocked, I guess I was kind of also happy
