The black cat, Lily had blood flying all out of the large round shaped wound that had taken place in his stomach and he was starting to fall until he was completely gone from sight. I could only stare horrified with everyone else at the moment and I turned my attention toward where they blast had come from. In the back, far away out of the darkness, a large crowd of the creatures were coming straight at where we were flying. I took hold of Runesave and got ready for the inevitable battle that was coming our way.
"The Royal Army," I said tightening my grip upon my sword.
"It's the Edolas Erza," Natsu exclaimed.
"The one they call Knightwalker," Happy added.
I narrowed my eyes at where Edo Erza was. The most significant change that she had upon herself from our previous encounter is that her hair was shorter as if she had simply hacked it off in the moment. I was also glad to see that she had some wounds upon her form as well. Seems that her battle with my Erza had managed to hurt her as well.
"Lily," Coco whispered worried for her friend.
"Heartless bitch," Gajeel growled out, "She's going to pay for hurting my cat."
I gave him a confused glance.
His cat?
At that moment also, a small Exceed went after where Lily was fallen hoping to help him. But my attention was once again drawn toward Knightwalker as she glared up toward where we were.
"Scarlet," she yelled out, and I can hear the fury in her voice.
Her again," Erza said, decked in her full armor thought she was being carried by an Exceed who looked like it was struggling to hold her up.
"Let met handle this," Edo Jellal spoke out, raising his hand to stop us from marching forward, "I've had enough of your insolence Captain Knightwalker, how dare you point your sword at me, the Royal Prince of Edolas?"
"The Prince?" Erza repeated, surprised.
A few moments passed as the Edo Erza looked up toward where we were, an angry look crossing her features. I can see her hands tightening upon her weapon and on the creature beside her, I caught sight of Edo Eve. She was wearing her blade upon her back as her silver eyes stared up toward where I was, a cold look upon them.
Then, laughter started to echo around us.
"What the?"
"You the Royal Prince of Edolas?" the voice spoke out, "Don't make me laugh. You don't deserve the title because I've never seen you as my son."
A surprised look crossed Edo Jellal's face at that.
"It's the King's voice," Coco said.
"But where is he?"
"Eve, can you sense his presence?" Erza asked me.
I conjured a feather into my hand.
"It will be impossible to feel his magic considering how different Edolas's magic is to Earth Land," I told her, "And people of Edolas doesn't have any internal magic source to begin with. He is basically invisible to my senses."
"I see," Erza whispered.
"You have some nerve," The King's voice continued, "You can't run off for seven years and suddenly waltz back in as if nothing had happened. Do you think you can fool me? I know you've been in Earth Land sealing off all the Animas. You're a traitor and as such you must be punished for your actions."
"Where is that voice coming from?" Wendy said.
"I have no idea but he certainly sounds angry," Carla answered the small girl.
"C'mon, show yourself bucko," Natsu yelled out.
"Yeah, come out and face us?" Happy encouraged.
Natsu, challenging the king to a fight doesn't sound like such a good idea right now you know, I thought, staring at the large number of soldiers beneath us all of them riding upon those large creatures, they have us completely outnumbered.
"Your Anima plan has failed," Edo Jellal said, "Please surrender peacefully. You have no reason to fight anymore."
"Ridiculous," The King answered, "Who said that I need a reason to fight?"
Then from bellow us, a sudden glow started to appear. I glanced down toward it instantly warning the group.
"Everyone, down here," I said.
They all glanced down toward a coliseum ruins where the sudden powerful magic started to be unleashed from the middle of it.
"You guys hear that?" Gray asked, "It's sound like it's coming from underground."
I could hear it as well, the moving of the rocks as something huge started to grow out of the very ground in the mist of the green energy that was being unleashed.
"No…this is not a simple fight," the King continued, "This is retribution. The extermination of all who dares to oppose their King."
A large oval object had grown out of the ground right in the middle of the coliseum. It was shaped like an egg all white in color but the top was curved lightly to open almost like a flower. I stared at it, completely taken aback by its appearance and from where it was on my waist, I can see RuneSave glowing a soft gold color.
The amount of magic that this thing is releasing is affecting it, I thought.
Not once had something like this happened before in all the time that I had this sword…it just showed just how powerful that thing that I was positive that the King was inside of it.
"Just what is that thing?" Lucy asked, fear and worry loud in her voice.
"Some kind of magic weapon," Gray suggested.
"Since you and your meddlesome friends insist on staying on my way," the King continued, "I have no choice but to destroyed each and every one of you, regardless of who you are."
"Father, please," Edo Jellal pleaded and I can even see that he recognizes what the large magic weapon the King had stepped out.
"I am not your Father," The King answered, "I am the King of Edolas."
As he was speaking, a white glow had started to appear around the large magic weapon that he has and then it spread open like a flower causing the air around it to vibrate as large dust and winds as it transformed into it's true form.
"If I dispose of you here and now, I will no longer have to worry about you sealing up the Anima in Earth Land. I'll be free to create another giant Lacrima and fuse it with Exceeds. Limitless magic power will be mine."
The Giant thing had finally transformed and I was completely god smacked at what it had transformed into. It was a large mechanical dragon with glowing red eyes. Each of its steps caused an echoed boom.
"Try as you might, there is no stopping me. I am the King and my power is ABSOLUTE,"
The mechanical Dragon let out a large roar.
"This guy has finally gone crazy," I said, "And that giant thing is unleashing so much magic energy that it's affecting Runesave."
"The Dorma Anim," Edo Jellal explained as we observed the mechanical thing in front of us, "In our old language it means Dragon Knight. It's an enhanced Dragon Armor."
"A Dragon?" Natsu repeated.
"Certainly look like one," Happy told him, "Don't you guys think so?"
"It's a magic armor?" Wendy guessed.
"It's unlike anything I've ever seen before," Carla said.
"It's an enhanced armor made from an anti magic lacrima called Wizard Canceller," Coco explained to us, "It's bad news for us because our attacks won't have any effects upon it. The King must be inside of it. He is controlling the Dorma Anim's every move."
The Dorma Anim aimed its head straight toward us and opening its jaw and a cannon appeared from it.
"As your King, I order you to capture all of the Exceeds at once."
"YES SIR," the Army riding the creatures yelled out.
I turned my attention toward where the soldiers were all of them riding their creatures all of coming straight toward the Exceeds. I noticed the weapons they were carrying and I knew of their plan. I charged straight toward the air passing the group who yelled out my name as I launched at them and then raised one of my hands.
"Three Layered Magic Circle, Heaven's Chant."
The entire sky was suddenly completely filled with gold feathers and I stared at the large ground coming straight toward me. This would be the first time in a long time since I have used this spell to its full potential…
"I won't let you touch a single hair on these Exceeds," I growled before I tightened my hand into a fist.
A massive explosion filled the entire sky and I could hear them yelling in pain as well as the large creatures roaring as they were falling from the air. I can hear gasps of shock coming from the group at what I just done.
"Those golden wings…"
"Could that girl be…?"
"But it's supposed to be a fairy tale," another said.
"Don't let them get away," Knightwalker yelled as she charged through the smokes, "Capture all of the Exceeds."
More of them were following after her as they started to fire their guns straight toward the flying creatures. Edo Jellal yelled out to the Exceeds which were flying around us, "All of you, get out of here now."
Damn it, I thought, There is more of them then I thought…I would have thought that the Heaven's Chant would have been enough to deal with them but at least…i've reduced their numbers…
"EVE, Watch out," Edo Jellal yelled at me.
I turned to glance at him, confused for a few seconds but then I realizes that the Dorma Anim had fired a blast…aiming straight for me.
"I'll make an example out of you Nova Girl," The King yelled, "I'll show everyone here what it means to cross the King of Edolas, now BEGONE…"
I instantly drew out RuneSave as the blast reached me and aiming my sword straight toward it, the blast of the canon hit me head on but it suddenly split down in the middle where my sword had made contact with it and I can feel the blade shaking in my hands as I hold it, tightening my grip upon the blade until the blast was over.
My cloak was a little ripped and blood was dripping from the wound that I had on my arm as it seeped down from upon the blade's handle.
"Not bad," The King said, sounding mocking, "Now take this second wave."
A large blast aimed straight toward me again but it was blocked my Edo Jellal who had came out of nowhere to protect me from the attack upon his creature. At the same time, someone took hold of my waist and pulled me down upon the creature.
"Eve, are you okay?" Gray asked.
"I'm fine," I answered the Ice Wizard, "Runesave managed to save me from that attack."
"Mystogan," Erza yelled out toward the young man beneath us, blocking the blast that the King had sent out toward me.
"Mystogan?" the King repeated, "Don't tell me that's the name you decided to be called in Earth Land. Your name is Jellal."
"All of you, get out of here while you still can," Edo Jellal yelled toward us.
"You want us to leave you here?" I yelled at him.
"The Exceeds are defenseless against Knightwalker and the rest of the Army," Edo Jellal told us, "You need to go and protect them."
"Will he be okay?" Coco asked, worried.
"He's got this," Natsu told him.
"Three Layered Magic Circle, Mirror Water," Edo Jellal said as he made some movements with his arms.
The blast that the Dorma Anim had sent his way was completely absorbed within the magic circle that he had used as a shield and then the blast was send right back toward the Dorma Anim engulfing it into a giant explosion causing a large amount of dust and debris.
"Think that got him?" Gray asked.
"Wow, Mystogan is so powerful," Lucy observed, amazed.
"He is not one of Fairy Tail's strongest for nothing," I commented.
The smoke dissipated and to our shock, the mechanical dragon didn't even look like it was hit at all and the King was chuckling.
"Goodness that barely even tickle," he mocked.
"What…it's not even scratched," Natsu said.
"You're kidding?"
"That's crazy," Gray said, "Just how powerful is that damn thing."
"Behold, this is the power of the great Wizard Canceller," The King spoke out, "You can attack with all of your might but it will not stop me. The Dorma Anim is impervious to all forms of magic."
He let out a large blast straight toward Edo Jellal and the attack seems to blast right through him as he yelled out in pain and was knocked off the white creature that he was riding upon.
"Jellal," I yelled out.
"Mystogan," Erza yelled.
"Hahahaha," The King laughed out, "It would seems that the mighty prince has fallen. I'm sure he would feel right at home, crawling on the ground with the pests."
Gray seems to have gotten pissed off, "Enough of this…Ice Make Lan…,"
Before he could cast his spell, the Dorma Anim has once again launched a large blast toward where we were causing him to falter, almost falling off but he managed to catch himself in time.
"Man, talk about a rough ride," he said.
"That's enough to make anyone sick," Lucy said, "Not just Natsu."
More blast came from the mechanical dragon below us and it was a miracle that it didn't hit us yet. Maybe the aiming system in that thing isn't made for long ranged combat.
"How are we suppose to fight if we're dodging this thing?" Gray said.
"Hang in there Legi," Coco said addressing the large anima we were riding on.
Then from bellow, a sudden explosion appeared upon the back of the Dorma Anim, and I instantly could feel Natsu's smoldering magic being unleashed in waves. I turned my attention toward where the Dragon Slayer was a minute ago but that area was deserted. Then more attacks hit the Dorma Anim and I recognize Gajeel's and Wendy's magic.
The Three Dragon Slayers were standing right in front of the Dorma Anim.
"Natsu," Happy yelled out.
"Please be careful Wendy," Carla called out to the blue haired girl.
"You can do it," Lucy called to them.
"We're good," Natsu answered us, "Just make sure you keep the cats safe."
Erza stared down at the group for a moment before nodding, "In that case, I'll leave this one to you."
"Are you sure they'll be able to handle that monster?" Lucy asked, glancing at the redhead.
"They should be," I answered her, "Natsu's attack caused damages to the Dorma Anim…"
"Eve is right," Gray added, "After all, who better to fight a dragon other than people who were trained to defeat them. They're the only ones who stands a chance after all, they are Dragon Slayers."
I stared at where the group was preparing to fight the Dorma Anim before turning my attention toward Coco, "Take us toward where the Exceeds are."
"Yes," Coco said, driving her Legion toward where the sounds of the screaming Exceeds were coming from.
In the distance we can see the twinkling of the falling lacrimas that the Exceeds were turned into as the Royal Army continued to fire against them, ensnaring to capture all of the remaining Exceeds who were trying to escape from them…
"This is horrible," Happy whispered.
"I can still hear their screaming," Carla said.
"The Royal Army," Erza said, "They've almost caught up to them."
"I can't believe that they are so many of them," Gray said, "Even after what Eve had done earlier…"
"This just shows how much they have been preparing to attack Extalia," I said, narrowing my eyes at the sight in the distance.
"What do we do?" Lucy asked.
"Only thing we can do," Erza said as she summoned out a sword, "Stop them before it's too late. The Exceeds are counting on us."
"I want to help you fight," Happy told us.
"Me too," Carla added, "We have to do whatever we can to protect our homeland."
"I have been waiting for you, Scarlet."
We turned our attention forward. Barring our way was Edo Erza, upon her own large creature and she had a smirk upon her face as she observed us.
"What do you want with me?" Erza asked her, a touch of impatience within her voice.
More of the creatures started to appear around us, as I took hold of the creature's form as it moved.
"It's a trap," Gray said.
"She set an ambush?" I said.
"Get us out of here Legi," Coco told our ride.
The large creature let out a large roar before starting to fly off from where Knightwalker and her group was but from bellow, a lot of blast shoots out underneath us and the large creature was doing its best to avoid getting it by them but it was futile for one of them hit it straight into it's belly…
We were all thrown off the creature's back and I was blow off to the side and I can hear the group screaming as they fell toward the ground below. As I spun in the air, I summoned out my wings which glowed in bright gold color, shining like a beacon in the night.
I glanced around myself searching for the group but a large shadow which had appeared right above me drew my attention. It was one of the creature and it's jaws were wide open as it aimed down straight toward me fully intended to swallow me.
"Heaven's Feather Shield," I yelled forming the large shield in front of me just as the creature hit it.
Someone upon the creature laughed out loud.
"Don't think that I will let you out of my sight this time Earth Land me," Edo Eve yelled out.
Damn it, not now…
Edo Eve is bearing down upon our hero...
