It is now a few more days later, and Lillian is finally being released from the hospital, and moved into The Tower, where the group have set up another specialised room for the Luthor matriarch, just like they did with Elizabeth. It is just lucky that due to the Martian technology The Tower's rooms are very flexible, almost as if it's a Tardis from Doctor Who. A comment that Winn constantly makes all the time.
In regards to Lillian's recovery, she has begun to regain a bit of movement in her legs, and in turn has started to do some therapy, as she will have to learn to walk again. The neurologist has told Lena and Lillian that the most likely thing that happened, is that even though the bullet didn't go through Lillian's skull, it did create pressure inside her skull, which ultimately has led to some form of brain damage. The neurologist has made it clear that the recovery is a long process, and it may not be entirely linear. Lillian's only major symptom for now might be that she lacks full movement of her legs, as she recovers from being paralysed, but in the future other symptoms might start to show. This ranges from Lillian having emotional outbursts at times, to Lillian just having a lack of energy and being really tired, or even maybe Lillian being confused, almost as if she were a dementia patient.
"Okay, mom, here we are." Lena says, as she wheels Lillian out of the elevator, and into the main entrance of The Tower, along with Kara.
As Kara, Lena and Lillian enter The Tower, Lillian takes a few moments to look around, noticing the big computer station, the balcony, and the open space of the main entrance to The Tower.
"Well.... I have to say.... I certainly wasn't expecting this when we entered through that detective's office, which honestly looks more like a book store." Lillian comments.
"That's kind of the point, mother. We don't want anyone walking in here." Lena says.
"Right." Lillian nods.
"So, why don't we show you around The Tower a little bit, so you get used to the surroundings and everything?" Kara suggests, "There are multiple floors, and this is the top one. Here there is this main area, a few training rooms, and a lab. Then downstairs, there is a big open living room type area, several more labs, and multiple rooms we have now turned into bedrooms where you and Elizabeth will be staying."
"Hmm.... so I'm going to be roommates with your real mom?" Lillian asks.
"Yes.... I guess." Lena says, a bit awkwardly, "But you have your own bathroom and everything, so you don't have to worry about that."
"Hmmm.... that's not going to be awkward at all." Lillian hums.
"Well, if you don't want to stay here with my mom, I could always stick you into some sort of care facility in the middle of nowhere, under a false name, so no one knows where you are?" Lena suggests.
Lillian chuckles.
"No. I'm sure living here will be just fine." Lillian replies, with a smirk.
"Good." Lena nods.
Lena and Kara then spend the next half an hour showing Lillian around the entirety of The Tower, before they finally end up in Lillian's room, that they all have made for her. The room itself is much like Elizabeth's, and is rather simple, but it does have a few handles here and there to help Lillian move about, seeing as she is in a wheelchair.
"Much more basic than I'm used to." Lillian comments.
"Well, like I said, the alternative is a care facility in the middle of nowhere, or you could go back to prison?" Lena says, dryly.
Lillian huffs.
"I wasn't making that comment to be spiteful or anything. It was just a comment." Lillian says.
"Hmmm.... okay." Lena replies.
"Anyway........ there is something I wish to ask both of you." Lillian says.
"What is it?" Kara asks, as she glances at Lena.
"I.... I would like to meet your daughters." Lillian says, "I know I've already sort of met Alura.... but that was in far from ideal circumstances...... I would quite like to meet them both now. But.... I know that you may be uncomfortable with that.... with what I have done before.... so I completely understand if you deny my request."
Kara and Lena look at each other in silence for a few moments after Lillian says that.
"We'll think about it." Lena says, "We'll discuss it with one another privately, and then also talk with both Alura and Morgan. They will only meet you if they want to. We won't force them to."
"Okay. That's fair enough." Lillian nods.
"Good." Lena says, "So, this room has been made so you'll hopefully be able to get around easily with your wheelchair and everything. Then, there are a few alert systems that will let us know if anything happens, and you need us. And if worse comes to worse, my mom will be across the hall from you, so she has told me that if you yell out to her, she will come in and help you with anything you need."
"That's nice of her." Lillian comments, "I presume that means her recovery has gone well?"
"Yeah." Lena nods, "She doesn't have her shadow woman powers anymore or anything, but she is almost fully recovered. She still lacks some of her memories, but she's able to function on her own and everything. Honestly, the only reason she is still here is because it's too dangerous for her to be living somewhere on her own with Leviathan about. And as much as I love my mom, I don't want her living with Kara, Alura, Morgan and I, we deserve our privacy and time alone."
"I see." Lillian nods, "So, I guess maybe some introductions are in order then? If I'm going to be staying here with your mom?"
"Right. Yes." Lena replies, "I'll.... just go get her."
Lena then exits the room, leaving Lillian and Kara alone.
"You know..... I've just realised this is the first time that the two of us have been alone together..... to talk." Lillian says, looking at Kara.
Kara chuckles.
"I very much doubt you realised that just now." Kara says.
Lillian smirks in response.
"Well..... seeing as we are alone for the first time, I thought it would be best for me to tell you, if you ever hurt Lena, I'll make sure you regret it, even if I am stuck in this wheelchair." Lillian says.
"I would never ever hurt Lena. She is the love of my life. I can't even imagine continuing my life without her by my side." Kara says.
"Hmmm.... okay.... I just had to make sure." Lillian says.
"I know." Kara nods, "Sam has already given me the shovel talk, so I guess I can add this one to my collection."
Lena and Elizabeth then walk back into the room, ending Kara and Lillian's conversation.
"Mother.... this is.... my birth mom, Elizabeth." Lena says, "Mom, this is, my adopted mother Lillian."
"Hello, Lillian, it's nice to meet you." Elizabeth says, extending a hand for Lillian to shake.
Lillian looks at Elizabeth's outstretched hand for a few moments, before finally shaking it.
"It is nice to meet you too." Lillian says, "I can see where Lena gets her resemblance from now. She never did look anything like Lionel."
"Yes." Elizabeth replies, biting her lip slightly, "About that... I..... I didn't know that Lionel was married when we..... if I did.... I would have never...."
"It's okay." Lillian says, in a calm voice, "I don't blame you for anything. When you and Lionel got together, our romantic life had already died. He's to blame, not you. I hold no ill feelings towards you. After all, without you, we wouldn't have Lena."
"I..... okay.... good." Elizabeth says, breathing a sigh of relief.
"Great. I... I'm glad the two of you have finally met one another now. Even if this is a bit weird." Lena says.
"I'm sure it will get better with time." Elizabeth says.
"Yes, especially seeing as the two of us are going to be spending a lot more time together." Lillian adds.
"Yeah." Elizabeth nods, "And I want to help you in any way I can. I'd happily help you with any therapy sessions you would like to do while Lena or Alex are not here. I'm not a qualified doctor or nurse or anything, but I'm sure we are both capable of figuring out how to do some therapy sessions to help you get your legs back in order without Lena and Alex."
"Thank you. That is very nice of you to offer, and I may take you up on it, but not today. Right now, I'm kind of tired." Lillian says.
"Of course." Elizabeth nods, with a smile.

It is now a few days later, and recently Lena has been going over a few things in regards to her finances and everything. Lena has done this because she and Kara have agreed to buy the house that they looked at with Morgan and Alura, but before they move in, they are going to have several major changes done to the house. Firstly, the entire house is going to be gutted, and rewired and everything, as Lena wants to make sure that the house, which is clearly over 50 years old, has modern electrics and plumbing, and won't need updating in the next 10 years or so. Then the next major change, is Lena is having a whole underground basement dug. The basement itself will be even bigger than the foundation of the house, covering land both in front and behind the house, but being underground of course. Lena intends for this basement to be used as an underground garage, where she and Kara can drive their cars into. Then Lena also wants the underground basement to include several rooms which Kara and Lena can convert into training rooms, and a lab. Lena thinks that having it all underground gives them some better protection. A further change that Lena is having done to the house, is having an indoor/outdoor swimming pool built. The swimming pool will work by having two sections, that can be completely sealed off from one another. The first section will be a decent sized pool inside the house, with glass windows, which will be made by an extension to the house, then the second bit of the pool will just be a large outdoor pool. This way it gives them the option of having a pool indoors for the cold or rainy days, and outdoors when it's warm and sunny. Then the final change Lena wants done to the house, is knocking down the walls and fencing surrounding the property, and having them completely replaced/rebuilt, while also adding Lena's state of the art security system. Lena knows that that way the house will be completely safe, even Supergirl couldn't get in without the security system being alerted to it.
Due to all the changes that the house is undergoing, it will not be ready for Kara, Lena, Alura and Morgan to move into for multiple months. So, this means that they won't be able to move into the house until at least after Kara and Lena get back from their honeymoon, and maybe some time after that. The process of the house having changes done is a lot more complicated this time than when Lena had her penthouse refurbished, meaning it will take a lot longer. However, Lena and Kara are both happy that soon after they are married, their family will be able to start their lives off in their amazing new house, where Morgan and Alura will have a lot more space, and room to run around and be kids and everything.
"Lee?" Kara says, having knocked on Lena's office door at L-Corp, and entered.
"Oh, hey." Lena smiles.
Kara approaches Lena, and takes her in for a kiss.
"I got us lunch." Kara says, holding up a brown bag.
"Please don't tell me you got us burgers again?" Lena says.
"No. I got us some nice sandwiches this time." Kara says.
"Nice. Where from?" Lena asks, as they both move over to the couch in Lena's office.
"Uhhhhhh...... New York...." Kara says, nervously.
"What?! You went all the way to New York to get us what? Some New York sub sandwiches or something?" Lena asks.
"No. There was something happening in New York, and they needed my..... Supergirl's help, so I went. Kal is still out of action, so he wasn't available." Kara explains.
"Ah, okay." Lena nods, "He still doesn't have his powers back?"
"Well... sort of." Kara replies, "He's told me he has most of them back, apart from the flying thing. He says he can do large leaps, almost as if he's a kid again and learning to fly."
"Oh.... well.... if he doesn't get his powers completely back soon, you should invite him and Lois out here, and Alex and I can check him over?" Lena suggests.
"I will." Kara nods, "But honestly, I think Clark isn't really trying too hard to get all his powers back right now, with Lois being pregnant and all. I don't think he wants to be Superman at the moment. I think he wants to just be Clark, so he can be there for Lois through all this."
"Oh, I see." Lena nods.
Kara and Lena then get out their sandwiches, and tuck into them. Lena moans at how good the sandwich is.
"Careful. You moan again like that, and I might just take you here on this couch." Kara smirks.
Lena chuckles, while smiling widely at Kara.
"As nice as that sounds, we can't do that today. I've got a few meetings, to go over some of my finances." Lena says, nodding to her desk, and all the paper on it.
"Oh, what finances?" Kara asks.
"I uhhh..... well..... I was going to tell you about it once I'd talked to my accountants and lawyers and everything..... but..... I've been rewriting my will.... in case anything happens to me." Lena says.
"Lena.... I don't want to talk..." Kara begins.
"I know you don't want to talk about this." Lena says, placing a hand on one of Kara's arms, "But we need to, even if this is uncomfortable."
Kara sighs.
"Okay." Kara says, "But, I don't want any of your money or anything. I don't need that."
"I know you don't want my money, darling. But I will be leaving it all to you anyway." Lena says, "Well, at least a large amount of it."
"Lena I..." Kara begins.
"Let me finish." Lena interrupts.
Kara nods her head.
"I'm leaving most of it to you because if something does happen to me, you, on your own, even with your salary, won't be able to continue to afford the upkeep of our new house, while also providing for our kids." Lena says, "The bills will be unsustainable. So, I want you to have the money to do all that, while also having more than enough money to spend on Alura and Morgan, and make sure their futures are secure. Then I know after that, you will know how much money you really need, and can donate whatever you don't need to charities of your choosing. Although I have already designated some of my wealth to certain charities."
"Lena.... I..... you're smart.... you'll know all the money we'd need. I know you are a billionaire, and I couldn't imagine that we'd need anything anywhere near to 1 billion. That amount of money could probably provide for me for my entire lifetime, and Alura and Morgan, and their kids too." Kara says.
"Yes, it probably could." Lena nods, "But what a lot of people misunderstand about people's wealth, is their net worth isn't calculated in liquid cash, but assets. A majority of my wealth comes from the valuation of the shares I own in L-Corp, as well as a few other companies. So, in the bank right now, in liquid cash, I have about $300 million. Everything else is put up into other stuff, including L-Corp. And in the event of my.... untimely demise.... all of my L-Corp shares would go to you. So, you would have the option to sell them off or not. Or.... If you didn't want to.... you could run the company... or keep the company.... or whatever.... Once you inherit my shares, you'll be the L-Corp owner, and chairwoman. Sam has been designated as my successor as CEO."
"Lena... this.... this.... is a lot to take in...." Kara says, "I mean... I don't even want to imagine a world where you might...."
"I know darling." Lena says, taking Kara in for a hug, "And I don't want to imagine a world without you in it either. But these are decisions I have to make. I need to make sure that you, Morgan and Alura are looked after if something does happen to me. And..... I also need to make sure that L-Corp.... and all the work I have done with it to turn it into a company that does good, and away from the corrupt weapons selling company my brother and father owned.... doesn't just fall back into someone's hands who is going to reverse all the work I've done."
Kara sighs.
"Okay.... I.... I understand." Kara says.
"Good. Thank you." Lena says, "I still have a bit more to talk about with my lawyers and accountants and everything, and after I do, we will talk more about everything. But, with your approval, I'm going to make sure both Alura and Morgan have trust funds set up. And together we will come up with requirements for them accessing it and everything. As I know that neither you or I want Alura or Morgan to become spoilt trust fund kids in the future."
"Yeah." Kara nods.
"Okay." Lena smiles, "We can talk more about this later this week, when I have a clearer picture of everything."
"Alright... but.... Lee..... if you are going to leave me everything.... or.... most of everything.... I.... I know this is kind of an awkward thing to ask but.... uhmmmm..." Kara says, and trails off.
"Are you asking me how much money I have? Or what my net worth is?" Lena asks.
"Yeah." Kara says, blushing, and biting her lip.
"Okay." Lena nods, and then walks over to her desk to grab a piece of paper, "So, an accurate estimate of my net worth is hard to calculate, because it mostly is made up of shares which I own, and the share values change every single second. But the nearest estimate I've come up with, is right now I have a net worth of $80bn."
"What?!" Kara says, surprised, "You are worth over 80 BILLION dollars? Isn't that.... are you like the richest person in the world?"
Lena chuckles.
"No, darling. I.... well.... technically I'm the richest woman in the world, although it's close.... But..... the richest person in the world has over 200 billion. So, I'm not there yet. Maybe one day in the future. Not that I care about that." Lena explains.
"Lee.... That's still a lot of money." Kara says.
"I know. But like I said, the valuation mostly comes from L-Corp's valuation, and seeing as I own over 80% of the shares, that's why it's so much." Lena says.
"Wow.... Lena... just......" Kara says, in a voice of disbelief, "I knew you were rich.... but..... I didn't know you were that rich."
Lena nods her head.
"I try not to let my wealth reflect upon who I am." Lena explains.
"Yeah, I understand." Kara nods.
There is then a silence in the room, as Kara simply just takes everything in.
"Wait...." Kara says, "I.... I believe you once told me that Sam actually owns some shares in the company."
"Yes. She does." Lena nods, "She was given a 0.25% stake in L-Corp at the end of last year as a bonus. If it were entirely up to me, I would have given her at least a 2% stake, but the board wouldn't approve that, including Sam."
"Does that mean...... is Sam a billionaire too?" Kara asks.
"No." Lena replies, "A 0.25% puts her net worth at around a quarter of a billion."
"Does Alex know?" Kara asks.
"I presume so... I'm not sure." Lena replies.
"Huh." Kara says.

Later that evening, Alex is just getting home from work at the DEO. Sam and Ruby are already home because Alex had a shift that ran later than when Sam's work day ended. However, before Alex left the DEO, she got a text from Kara, asking her if she knew about how much money Sam has. Alex knew Kara wasn't doing it in a way to cause trouble or anything, only because she was surprised that her sister didn't mention it. Alex, for her part, was a good partner, and lied to her sister, and said she did know about it, but the truth is she didn't, and Alex is a bit annoyed about that. Although Alex isn't annoyed because Sam is a millionaire or anything. Alex is annoyed because Sam has never mentioned it to her, specifically when she got the bonus last December. Alex doesn't care one bit about money, she would marry Sam even if she were a pauper. It's the keeping secrets part of it that's annoying, and frankly, upsetting Alex.
"Hey babe. I left you some dinner in the microwave that you can heat up." Sam smiles at Alex, as the redhead enters the living room.
Alex looks around the living room, and she sees that currently Sam and Ruby are watching TV, sitting next to one another on the couch.
"Hey guys." Alex says, with a forced smile, "Ruby, do you mind going up to your room for a bit? I need to talk to mom about some grown up stuff you shouldn't hear."
"You're not going to talk about sex, are you?" Ruby asks, with a grimace.
Alex can't help but chuckle.
"No. Something else." Alex replies.
"Okay." Ruby nods, and then hops off the couch, gives Alex a brief hug, before heading upstairs.
Alex, for her part, waits a few moments, and then checks the stairs to make sure Ruby is not listening, before she turns to Sam.
"So, what's up, babe?" Sam asks, "Is... is it something to do with Leviathan."
"No." Alex says, and takes a seat opposite Sam, "So, Kara told me that Lena has been going over her finances today. And in doing so, she told Kara what her net worth is, and how many shares in L-Corp she has."
"Yeah, Lena mentioned that." Sam nods.
"What Lena also mentioned to Kara, is that last December you received a bonus from L-Corp, which equates to 0.25% shares in the company." Alex says.
"Uhhhh.... yeah.... something like that." Sam now says, awkwardly.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Alex asks.
"I didn't think it was worth mentioning." Sam replies.
"Sam! That's equivalent to over $200m! How is that not worth mentioning?!" Alex says.
"Because I didn't think money mattered to you." Sam replies.
"It doesn't! But that's a lot of money, Sam, and you didn't even mention it. You.... It's almost like you kept it from me." Alex says.
"Of course I didn't!" Sam replies.
"Then why didn't you tell me?" Alex asks, "Do you not trust me? I know that talking about money is an awkward thing. Or is it because you feel ashamed that I have much less money than you?"
"No! Of course that's not it!" Sam says.
"Then what is it?!" Alex asks.
"Because how much money I have is none of your business!" Sam snaps, angrily.
"What? We're partners.... We're supposed to be getting married. It.... That's something big to hide." Alex says.
"Well.... maybe I don't trust you enough with that information!" Sam says, angrily again.
"Wha... what?" Alex asks, now sounding a bit heart broken.
"You have no right to know how much money I make, or what my bonuses are. Who the hell do you think you are?!" Sam says, angrily, standing up and almost towering over Alex now.
"I.... I need to go." Alex says, and quickly stands up and rushes out of the house, tears running down her face.
Sam then watches Alex leave the house, before settling back down on the couch, and shaking her head.
"Wha.... What just happened?" Sam says, confused, as she rubs her eyes, "Alex? Where.... where are you?"
Little did Sam know, Reign just took over her body for the first brief moment since emerging, and it certainly won't be the last.
