"ok so if he tries to do the yawn thing and wrap his arm around you it's completely normal, if you don't want him to just push him off" noa spoke to the younger girl as she did her mascara for her, belly nodding at her words
"do you know what you're wearing?" susannah asked the younger girl
"i'm not sure, i don't want to be too overdressed or underdressed" belly shrugged
"i mean you can never go wrong with some denim shorts and crop top, here try this top" noa smiled before handing her one of her own tank tops
"are you sure, i don't want to steal your clothes" belly looked concerned
"it's totally fine, you can probably keep it, i think connie bought it for me like ages ago so it won't be missed, plus anything you borrow my sister has probably already stolen" noa laughed
"i didn't know you had a sister" belly smiled
"shes a pest but i love her" the older girl smiled thinking about her younger sister,
"oh yes, how is poppy?" susannah asked
"she's good, just being the normal troublemaker she is, driving my parents insane last i checked" noa laughed
"how old is she?" belly asked as she went to get changed
"freshly 16, begging me to teach her to drive, no way i'm getting in that car" noa smiled
"see thats the issue with you older siblings no one will teach us younger ones to drive, how will we learn?" belly laughed from the bathroom
"oh its fine she's convinced conrad to teach her, he's probably more chill than me" noa spoke, eyes widening as belly walked out of the bathroom, "belly you look gorgeous, cam cameron is going to pee his pants when he sees you"
"you truly are glowing belly" susannah spoke
"you look nice hon" laurel said as she entered the bedroom
"i can't believe crop tops are back" susannah laughed looking at laurel, "remember how i thought i was such hot shit wearing that baby tee in freshman year?" laurel laughed in response.
noa began to notice how nervous belly looked, walking over to wrap her arm around the younger girl, "i promise you it will be fine, everyones very first date is the scariest"
"what did you and conrad do?" belly asked curious mostly about what a date with conrad was like.
"conrad wasn't my first date" noa chuckled
"he wasn't?"
"oh god no, my first date was like 7th or 8th grade i think, it was so awkward, we went to a carnival and then he threw up on one of the rides, the ride he demanded we go on." she laughed recalling the memory
"that sucks, that would ruin carnivals for me, and i love carnivals, that's why i love the pier, one time conrad and i went down together and he spent the whole night trying to win me a polar bear, it was so fun!" belly smiled, then her smile dropped when she realised she was talking to noa.
"that does sound fun, i swore off them after that date, so maybe you can take con for me" she chuckled. belly was delighted noa basically said she could take conrad on dates to the pier whenever she wants.
"are you not driving with us?" laurel's voice interrupted belly's thoughts.
"um- belly didn't tell you?" susannah asked, "she has a date tonight"
"sorry mom, his name is cam" belly looked down apologising
"yeah, his mom works at the club" susannah chimed in, "really nice boy, very smart, like harvard smart"
"it's fine" laurel smiled, "of course you can go, i've dragged you to enough of these book parties over the years."
"have a great date!" susannah yelled as belly exited the room following behind noa
"thanks!"
as the girls walked down the stairs they couldn't help but chuckle at the boys playing video games in the living room.
"full team, full team, full team" they yelled at the game, "okay, i'm coming, i'm coming right now"
"wait. do you see one?" jeremiah asked
"cracked one, cracked one" steven smiled, "nice i got him" conrad chuckling at the two boys turning his head to notice his girlfriend standing just a few steps away.
"hey baby" he smiled at the girl as she walked closer to him
"hey" she responded walking infront of the game to wrap her arms around his neck
"NOA WHAT THE HELL!"
"JAMESY WHAT ARE YOU DOING!"
"sorry guys" noa quickly apologised
"no don't say sorry, dickheads don't talk to her like that" conrad spoke glaring daggers at jeremiah and steven who muttered sorries to the girl, before conrad pulled her into his lap making her giggle.
"see you guys later" belly spoke as she entered the room
"damn!" jeremiah spoke up, "you...look...hot" jeremiah said giving dramatic pauses after each word.
instead of paying attention conrad refused to look up, only looking at noa, who noticed this, leaning in to whisper in his ear, "tell her she looks pretty", he nods.
"you look nice bels" conrad said finally looking at belly, his face changing slightly as if he was caught off guard by belly's appearance, this only going noticed by noa, confusing the older girl.
"thanks guys"
"are you driving with or are you meeting us there?" jeremiah asked
"i'm going to the drive in" belly spoke up, mainly looking at conrad, who was staring at the ground.
"with who?"
just as belly went to answer steven interrupted, "dude, dude, dude, focus come on"
"uh, okay bye" belly waved everyone off before running out of the house.

"this is so boring, i think i might pass away" jeremiah groaned
"dude it's not that bad" conrad shrugged holding noa in his lap
"yeah, its seriously not that bad" noa continued
"you pair cannot talk, conrad you spent the night nodding drinks back, noa just sat there texting her sister and not once would let me say hi to poppy. i'm not gonna lie, i would rather hear you guys have sex than be here" jeremiah exclaimed with a sigh, his words making noa turn her head in embarrassment.
"seriously man don't be weird"
"yeah i didn't need to picture that" steven chimed in
"nevermind, jere's right this is boring, laurel already tried to make me get a job teaching sailing, i can't be here any longer, let's go somewhere." conrad sighed
"yeah, where?"
"we could go into town, i don't know buy some weed from that guy with the rainbow dash tattoo?" steven proposed
"nah he got arrested last summer"
"oh shit, really?" steven asked
"yeah"
"we could go to the drive in" conrad suggested with a smirk
"no, not happening, don't be that guy" noa tried to stop the boys
"dude gross. i don't want to watch belly hooking up with some kid in the back seat of a minivan" steven gagged
"yo actually, let's go to the drive in" jeremiah chuckled
"wait. like, like, really?" steven asked
"yeah, why not?"
"guys seriously, let her have her night, she wants to be a grown up" noa continued trying to stop the boys only to be ignored
"yeah, yeah!" steven cheered
"all right bro, you're driving" jeremiah laughed handing steven the keys
"conrad let's think this over" noa pleaded with her boyfriend
"it's been thought over, it's happening" conrad chuckled standing up from the couch pulling noa up.
"guys let's not ruin this for her, it's her first date, we've all had one"
"jamesy, it's happening just accept it" noa sighed at the boys words.
another one done lovelies, i've already planned out how i'm gonna finish this book, i will be making a sequel that will follow the format and story line of we'll always have summer so i won't be following the show.
