The Spider's Nest

Izuku was cornered by the Entity's hunters, but had decided to surrender in order to survive. With no power of his own, and exhausted from being hunted, he saw no other choice... and they, surprisingly, obliged. However, there was a catch. He couldn't be allowed to walk in... so he would be carried in. Embarrassed, he covered his face for a moment as he was carried over the shoulder of the man, who walked to the back wall. The blond had introduced himself as Albert Wesker, and the thing he called the Dredge coalesced its darkness to one point, where its misshapen and twisted limbs jutted out. Its bulbous head aligned itself to the center of the shadows. After a moment, the back wall splintered, and opened inward, into a deep cave. The back of the tunnel glowed an ominous red. It was slightly humid as Wesker entered the passage. It soon became too dark for Izuku to see, but the two killers could, regardless of the lighting. Wesker still wore his sunglasses as he walked, meaning that it was probably the Entity that made it impossible for survivors to see here. Soon, though, there was a space that could allow him to see. And what he saw surprised him.

The place would be considered homely under desperate circumstances. Wooden cross beams supported the interior, and a massive furnace lay at the center. The light of its fire was much harsher than the campfire he was familiar with. A bar was inserted into the center, where a cowboy was polishing a glass. That was when he noticed that every killer he'd ever gone against was in the area, watching the procession of three. Gulping, he tried to put a brave face on... but was ultimately unsuccessful. Unfortunately, the trio was stopped by the Legion, back in their usual getup. Unable to see, as he was facing Wesker's back, all Izuku could do was wait.

Frank, wearing the normal Legion getup, spat at the man, "Why the fuck is that kid here?"
Annoyed, Wesker asked, "Special orders. Step aside."
The teen refused. "Not until I get a proper reason."

The man, unknown to Izuku, raised an eyebrow, "Are you trying to make me angry?"
Frank was about to respond when the Dredge got into his face, and roared.

That made three of them back off a bit. Joey, to his credit, wasn't phased. Frank responded, "Tsk. I guess we'll let you go..."

Wesker smirked, "You should have stayed out of my way." It was then that they continued. Izuku could see the faces of the furious Legion duo: Jules and Frank. They hated him now, and didn't hide it. Waving nervously, he found that he passed by a well as Wesker continued. A familiar hand poked out as Sadako clambered out of it. She acknowledged him with a glance, but then moved towards the bar.

They soon entered another tunnel, and darkness obscured his vision.

Soon, they exited into the surface. Or what seemed like the surface. The trees gave way to the elaborate mansion he had seen only once before... at the Twisted Masquerade. Now, however, it was in a new light. A sinister one, that told people to stay away. Izuku could feel Wesker tense slightly, as if he actually felt fear. However, he didn't waver from his path.

The doors opened inward, and he now entered the hall.

Before, it was draped in gold and blue... but now, without the decorations, he could see the true look of the place. It was styled in the fashion of an old palace, with the walls painted with scenes, and gold ornamentation surrounding the murals.

The scenes depicted were of pain and torture, of trials and slaughters... and as they continued, the Entity itself was depicted in them more and more... until it was nothing but scratches and entity claws.

The doors they had reached were the opposite of the gold and white ones at the front of the house. They were almost an obsidian look, glowing a faint red. They opened on their own, as well... and into what could only be described as a throne room. He couldn't see where Wesker was taking him, but the group of three stopped, and in a quick motion, Izuku was dropped to the ground.

"Ow!"

Getting to his feet slowly, Izuku turned and found... her. The avatar of the Entity, perched upon a throne.

When she looked into his eyes, she smiled, and said to the other two. "Well done. I'll arrange your... payment. Leave us."

Wesker and the Dredge left, and never before did he want the presence of a killer here as badly as he did now. They would be reasonable... but this... her... he can't understand her... and cannot possibly hope to fight back if she attacked. She smiled at him. It was both reassuring and terrifying. "You're here. I know why you left the campfire... and I won't let you tell them. My mistake was letting Vigo scheme in freedom. I won't ever make that mistake again."
His voice was quiet. "What will you do to me?" Izuku kept his face determined, even when knew there was no possible win in this situation. He also kept her gaze away from his left hand, which reached for the auris.
"You will stay here. Forever. I don't care what you do, since you can't do anything against me, and Benedict didn't have enough time to tell you anything."
Now that caught him off guard. He did have enough time, and she knew that. Or should have. But perhaps she wasn't as omnipresent as he assumed...
Izuku was still surprised. "What?"
She reiterated for him: "You will stay here. Either that, or I can send you to the Void."
Izuku remained tense, ready to move. The auris was within reach, but he didn't move to it yet. He knew what the Void was. A barren hellscape of corpses and discarded, empty souls. He'd much rather take his chances here. "I'll take the first option."

"Smart boy. I'll admit, I want you. Your mind. Your thoughts. Your hope. It's... appetizing. But the best meals are the ones you wait for. So, I'll let you stay... for now." She smiled, revealing her sharp, jagged teeth, and Izuku could sense no deception in those words. Even though she wasn't human, she had picked up the tells for lies, and for truths. And so, Izuku was let go. He couldn't leave the mansion, but that was the only rule. Time to visit the library, and to see what Vigo hid here.

The Library within the mansion was massive. Of course it was, as it was a collection, the physical manifestation of all the memories of survivors it devoured over the years, and the killers it sapped strength of mind from. Movable ladders went all the way up to the top of the shelf, and there was a whole second floor on top of that.

It would take all the time in the world to properly explore it. If he didn't have any hints, that is. And the Entity made one fundamental miscalculation. That Benedict Baker was useless and mad. He certainly was the latter, but on further reflection, the greenette realized that he was not useless. Nobody was. The Round Moon holds many secrets, but don't get fixated on the scratches. Light the Path.

That meant it was still possible. He could filter, hopefully, based on cover alone. Only a few even had an image of the moon on them. And even fewer had a full moon. However, all of them that he'd seen were bound with angry red lines. Nancy had told him about her perk, Fixated, and the ability to see scratch marks.

They're honestly more annoying to me than anything else. I'm positive the killers can see them, though, since they are left behind after survivors run past. I bet that's an edge the Entity gave them to track us.

Annoyed, it was only when he reached the second floor when he found it. A deeply ornate gold and black book. It had 7 indents, each with a unique rune or symbol on it, and a large depiction of a full moon in silver leaf. It was in pristine condition. The title read: Obumbratio Nebula. Looking down, there was a single letter where the author should be: V.

With wide eyes, he thought:This... this is Vigo's work!

Opening it, he found nothing but blank pages. What... but...there has to be something. Except there was nothing... nothing but the few words on the first page. Izuku couldn't read them. They were in another language:

Superstites et interfectores concordent ad messem,

Septem signa ad quaerendum in nocte,

Adduc eas ad illuminandum semitam,

Effugere tenebras tormentorum Dei

He sighed, realizing this was going to be much harder than he thought. First thing's first, find out what this means, then I'll figure out what to do from there...

And so, Izuku set to work, learning every language he could. He had the time, it was just about the effort. And that, was his defining feature.
