It is now a few more days later, and over the last few days Lillian's condition has got a lot better. Lillian is now a lot less tired than she was before, and this has meant that Lena has actually been able to talk to her mother a bit. This is has been furthered by the fact that Lillian has recovered more of her ability to talk. However, the one big negative that has occurred over the last few days, is Lillian can no longer feel her legs, meaning she can't walk, and is currently paralysed from the waist down. Once the doctors discovered this, they did run multiple tests on Lillian, and they believe that this is a result of the damage done to Lillian's brain, due to the bullet wound, even though the bullet didn't actually go through the skull. But the doctors also believe that in situations like this, it might just be a matter of time for Lillian to actually get the movement in her lower body back, which will also mean Lillian having to have a lot of therapy sessions to learn to walk again. However, before any of that can happen, there needs to be a sign that Lillian is regaining some of her movement in her lower body.
"I'm so sorry this is happening to you." Lena says to her mom, after the doctors leave Lillian's room after doing another test on the Luthor matriarch's legs.
"It's okay, Lena. It's not your fault." Lillian replies.
"I can't help but feel that it is though. You were doing all this to protect me." Lena says.
Lillian sighs.
"Yes. But maybe I was also doing it for myself too. Maybe I wanted to see if I could be a better person. But either way, it's not your fault. None of this is." Lillian says.
Lena doesn't reply to Lillian saying that.
"Is that why you have been here so often?" Lillian asks, "You feel guilty? So you have been sticking to my side, as if something is going to happen to me at any moment? Because you feel responsible?"
"No." Lena replies, "I'm here because you're my mother, and I don't want to lose you!"
Lillian sighs and gives Lena a caring look.
"Lena...." Lillian begins, in a soft voice, "Everything is okay. I'm safe. You can't just keep spending all your time here. You have a company to run. You have a family to spend time with, a life to get on with."
"But you're my family too." Lena says.
"I am." Lillian nods, "But, I'm only a small part of it. You have so many different members of your family now. You have your mom, you have your future wife, your two daughters, and all your other friends. You can't ignore them for me."
"I'm not ignoring them." Lena says back.
"Hmmm... maybe ignoring is not the right word. But even though I'm stuck in the hospital, I have heard that you haven't gone to try on your wedding dress yet." Lillian says.
"How... how did you hear about that?" Lena asks, surprised.
"I overheard you and Kara talking the other day, when you thought I was asleep." Lillian replies, "But you should go try on your dress. Don't hamper your wedding in any way just because you think you have to watch me."
"Okay." Lena says, after a moments silence, as she knows that if Lillian is saying it too, then she really needs to actually do something, "But..... there is something I'm going to need from you."
"What is that?" Lillian asks, with a smirk.
"On my wedding day.... I..... I want you to walk me down the aisle with my mom....." Lena says.
Lillian grows a big smile on her face after hearing that.
"Your wedding's only a few months away. I'm not sure I'll be able to walk by then, but I'll certainly wheel down the aisle with you." Lillian says, with a bit of a chuckle.
Lena also chuckles in response.
"Okay." Lena nods.
Lillian and Lena then hug one another for a few moments.
"I just know that your wedding is going to be an amazing day. You already have your little family. But I know once you get married, you and Kara will have another baby. And when that happens, I'm sure you'll be a grumpy pregnant CEO." Lillian says, with a loving smile.
Lena lets out a croaked sob at Lillian saying that.
"Oh, shhh... It's okay." Lillian says, "I didn't mean to make you cry."
"It's not that." Lena says, backing away from Lillian.
"Then what is it?" Lillian asks, confused.
Lena wipes her tears from her eyes, and then takes a deep breath.
"A.... few weeks ago.... Alex suggested that we all get medicals done on us. Alex, Sam, Ruby, Kara, me, Alura and Morgan. Alex wanted to make sure everything was okay.... and...... we found..... I.... I can't have a baby." Lena says, and starts to cry some more.
"What?" Lillian says.
"I've..... I've gone to see a few specialists now.... and..... I can't have a baby....." Lena says.
"Oh god... I..... I'm so sorry dear." Lillian says, with a lot of sympathy in her voice.
"It's.... it's okay.... I.... I've been trying to deal with it.... I mean..... I'm happy with Kara and I's family now. I love Alura and Morgan soooo much. I don't care that they don't share my blood. They ARE my daughters. And I know there are other ways to have a baby but..... it's just..... I.... never thought about it until this happened.... but..... I want to have a baby.... I want to be the one pregnant with Kara taking care of me.... in such a caring loving way that I know she would..... and.... and I can't have that now." Lena says.
Lillian nods her head.
"Well..... maybe there is something that can be done.... something you can look into?" Lillian suggests, trying to give Lena some hope.
"No!" Lena snaps, before deflating, "I.... I've looked at a few things..... I..... I've even begun some basic work of seeing if I could find some way to combine Kara and I's DNA and then have me carry a baby that way.... but..... with my issues.... it.... it doesn't seem likely.... and.... I still have a long way to go on that research... it might take years... or decades.... and by then it'll be too late."
Lillian nods her head once more.
"Then.... I know it's not ideal.... but maybe Kara could carry a baby made from one of your eggs?" Lillian suggests, "That way.... you'll still have a baby who is your blood.... even if I understand you want the experience of being pregnant."
"We can't do that either." Lena says.
"Why?" Lillian asks.
"Because..... due to Kara's alien biology..... both.... Alex and Eliza have told me.... that.... any human fertilised egg put inside Kara's body.... won't survive......" Lena explains.
"Oh..." Lillian says, "I.... I'm so sorry, Lena."
"It's okay." Lena says, with a deep breath, "I'm... dealing with it how I deal with it."
"Hmmm." Lillian hums, "Well, maybe it would be a good thing for you to focus on the positives in your life, including your upcoming wedding."
Lena huffs.
"You're not going to let the wedding dress thing go, are you?" Lena asks.
"Certainly not." Lillian smirks.

It is now a few days later, and Lena is finally actually trying on her wedding dress that she has had a designer make especially for her. With Lena today is Sam, Alex, Eliza and Elizabeth, who is wearing another image inducer. Kara meanwhile is spending some time with Morgan and Alura, alone, with Kara and Lena hoping this will be a nice break for Eliza, who really has been stepping up and taking care of the two kids these past few weeks.
Lena steps out in the main area, and reveals her beautiful wedding dress to her friends and family. Just like Lena asked, the dress hugs her body tightly, but without being too tight and restricting her movements, while also showing off some of her cleavage area, which the CEO hopes Kara will like. Then the bottom of her dress is really nice and flowing, without being big or anything, with the long sleeves complimenting the whole look.
"Wow Lena." Sam gasps, as soon as she sees Lena in the dress.
"Whoa." Alex says.
Eliza and Elizabeth meanwhile just smile happily, not being able to take her eyes off the brunette.
"I take those reactions as a good sign." Lena smiles, as she steps in front of a mirror.
"Yeah, they are." Sam says, "That dress is stunning, and it looks soooooo good on you."
"Thank you." Lena smiles, as she begins to look at herself in the mirror, only now getting a good look at herself in the wedding dress.
Elizabeth and Eliza soon join Lena, standing either side of her, and looking at her in the wedding dress.
"What do you think, honey?" Elizabeth asks.
Lena looks at herself in the wedding dress for a few moments, and then turns to look at her mom, before looking back at her own reflection once more.
"I love it." Lena says, "This is exactly the dress I had in mind. It's perfect."
"That's great!" Elizabeth smiles, happily.
"Does it fit nicely?" Eliza asks.
"Yes." Lena nods, turning to look at Eliza, "Like a glove."
Eliza chuckles upon hearing that.
"Well, that's good. I remember when I had finally decided on a wedding dress for my marriage to Jeremiah, I had to have the dress resized 3 different times." Eliza says.
"Oh, well, I think my designer did a really good job. It feels like it fits perfectly. It's not too tight, or too lose in any places." Lena says.
"One of the benefits of being rich." Elizabeth says, looking at Eliza with a smirk.
Eliza chuckles.
"Seems like it." Eliza says.
"I do more with my money than just pay for designers to make my wedding dress." Lena pouts.
Elizabeth chuckles.
"We know you do, honey." Elizabeth says, "We were just teasing you."
"Yeah." Eliza says, "I think you look wonderful, and I know Kara is going to love you in that dress. Although, I know my daughter would absolutely love whatever you wear, because it's you who will be wearing it."
"Thanks, Eliza." Lena smiles, and then takes her future mother-in-law in for a hug.
"Alright you three, turn and look at me." Sam says.
Lena, Elizabeth and Eliza all turn to look at Sam, who then takes a photo of them on her phone.
"What are you doing, Sam?" Lena asks, "You taking photos of my wedding dress so you can sell them to some trashy magazine for a quick buck?"
"Pffftt no." Sam says, and then pauses, "Unless.... how much do you think I'll get."
"Sam!" Lena says.
"Only joking." Sam says, "I'm taking a photo so you can show Lillian your wedding dress. She may not be able to be actually here today, but you can still show her your dress."
"Oh, that sounds like a wonderful idea, Sam." Elizabeth says.
"Yeah, thank you Sam." Lena says, giving her best friend a loving smile.
"Of course." Sam smiles back, and approaches the CEO, as Elizabeth and Eliza move away from Lena, and go and re-join Alex. "And you should know, I think you look smoking hot in that dress. When Kara sees you in it, her eyes are going to pop out of her head."
Lena chuckles.
"Careful, don't want Alex to get jealous." Lena smirks.
"In your dreams." Sam replies, with a smile of her own.

It is now a few more days later, and Alex, Sam, Lena, Kara, Ruby, Alura and Morgan are all having a nice dinner at Lena and Kara's penthouse. The group arranged this dinner together because they feel it's just something nice for them to do to distract them from all the craziness that has gone on recently. Then it has also given Eliza the chance to go have some fun for the evening, as Kara and Lena's mom has decided to go out with Elizabeth, and have a nice time together.
"You know..... if your mom's get married, you'll be sisters." Sam smirks, looking between Kara, Lena and Alex.
"Gross! Shut up Sam!" Lena says.
"Yeah." Alex adds, "They are not on a date. They are just spending the evening with one another."
"Whatever you say." Sam replies, with a smirk.
"And Eliza isn't gay." Kara huffs.
"Hmmmm.... Didn't you think you weren't gay once, Kara? Then you met Lena?" Sam asks, with another smirk.
"Shut up." Kara pouts.
Sam chuckles.
"Okay, okay." Sam smiles, "I'll stop now. I was only playing."
"Hmmm.... sometimes I think you 'play' a bit too much at the rest of our expense." Lena says.
"Oh, calm down sourpuss." Sam says.
Lena rolls her eyes at Sam saying that.
"Mommy, I've finished eating. Are we going to have dessert?" Alura asks Kara.
Alex, Sam, Lena and Kara all chuckle at Alura asking that.
"We'll have dessert in a little while." Kara says, "You'll have to wait for the rest of us to finish our food."
"But I don't want to wait. You are all talking about boring stuff." Alura pouts.
"I've finished eating too." Ruby says, "Maybe, if it's okay with the rest of you, Alura and I could go upstairs and play for a bit?"
"It's okay with me." Kara nods, before turning to the rest of the adults, who also nod their heads.
"Morgan, do you want to come with us too?" Ruby asks, looking at the 4-year-old, who is sitting next to Lena.
"No. I'm still eating, and I want to stay with momma." Morgan replies.
"Okay then." Ruby smiles, "Come on, Alura."
Ruby and Alura then both get up from the table and quickly head upstairs, allowing the adults and Morgan to continue to eat their food.
"Hmmm.... It's good they are gone, because I have another topic I want to bring up with both of you, that shouldn't be heard by children's' ears." Sam says.
"Sam, Morgan is still here." Lena says.
"That's fine." Sam says, "I don't think she'll get what we are saying. It's adult stuff."
"Hmmm.... okay." Lena replies.
"So, what do you want to talk about?" Kara asks.
"Well...." Sam says, now growing a smirk on her face, "It's only about a month until your wedding.... and I know you have already arranged everything. But there is still one final thing that you're missing."
"What is that?" Lena asks, confused, while also trying to go over in her mind to figure out what she and Kara have missed with their wedding arrangements.
"Your bachelorette parties!" Sam exclaims.
"Oh." Lena says.
"Come on! You can't be all down in the dumps about having a bachelorette party. It's an important step on your way to marriage." Sam says, "I know that I certainly am going to go crazy on my bachelorette party."
Lena then turns to look at Kara, and the two fiancés just look at one another in silence for a few moments.
"I just don't think a bachelorette party is Kara or I's thing." Lena says.
"Yeah." Kara says, "I think.... I would just prefer to be at home with our kids, than out drinking and partying."
"Oh, come on guys! You only get to have a bachelorette party once.... unless you plan on getting married multiple times." Sam says.
"Yeah. That certainly isn't the plan." Lena says, and leans over to place a kiss on Kara's cheek.
"Then come let me arrange your bachelorette party!" Sam says.
Lena sighs, and then turns to look at Alex.
"I've noticed you haven't said anything, Alex." Lena says.
"Well... I just don't want to get in the middle of it." Alex says.
"Why? Because you don't want to disagree with one of us?" Kara asks.
"Exactly." Alex replies.
Kara sighs.
"Come on Alex, we're all grownups. Just tell us what you think." Kara says.
"I'm not a grown up!" Morgan says, as she munches away at some of her food.
Kara, Lena, Sam and Alex all chuckle at that.
"No, you're not, darling." Lena says, placing a kiss on one of Morgan's cheeks, "You're just our special little youngest daughter."
Morgan smiles widely at Lena saying that, clearly very pleased with the affection she is being offered.
"Anyway, Alex, come on, what's your opinion?" Sam eventually says, as she looks at the redhead.
Alex then proceeds to look at Sam, then Kara, then Lena, before finally looking back at her future wife once more.
"I think you should have a bachelorette party." Alex says, "It doesn't have to be anything wild. But you will only get to do it once, so you might as well have one, rather than not having one and regretting it."
After Alex says that, Kara and Lena look at one another again, and basically communicate without even saying a word to one another.
"Fine." Lena says, "We'll have a bachelorette party."
"Yes!" Sam says, excitedly, "I'll plan Lena's, you plan Kara's."
"No. Hang on. We are having one bachelorette party, not two. Lena and I will have one together." Kara says.
"That's lame." Sam huffs.
"Oh, shush you. You just want to go to two different bachelorette parties." Lena says.
"Okay fine.... I guess I can accept that." Sam says, "Alex and I will arrange it together."
"Okay." Kara nods.
"No strippers though." Lena says.
"Awwwwwwwww." Sam pouts, "What's the point of having a bachelorette party then?"
"What's a stripper?" Morgan asks.
"Uhhh... never mind that, baby." Lena says, blushing slightly, while also giving Morgan another kiss, and hoping it distracts her.
"Yes. I agree with Lena. No.... you know." Kara says, "We can have fun, but without doing all that."
Sam sighs, dramatically.
"Fine." Sam says, "Is there anyone else you want me to invite. I don't know.... any of your other friends?"
"Hmmmm.... I guess.... maybe Winn and Jess can come?" Kara suggests.
"A boy at a bachelorette party? Isn't that against some code or something?" Sam says.
"Oh, trust me, babe, Winn will absolutely love it." Alex says.
"Alright. Winn & Jess. Anyone else?" Sam asks.
"Hmmm... I don't know." Kara says, turning to look at Lena.
"You want to invite your moms?" Sam asks.
"No way." Lena quickly says, "I... sorry.... I don't know how you feel Kara, but I don't really want my mom there."
Kara chuckles.
"I agree with you Lee." Kara smiles, and places a kiss on one of Lena's cheeks, "No moms."
"Good. That's at least something similar to a bachelorette party rule." Sam nods.
"Speaking of invites, who exactly are you guys inviting to your wedding?" Alex asks.
"Uhhh.... well... as you can imagine.... the list of people I'm inviting is very very small." Lena says, "We didn't want this to be a wedding where we invited people we don't actually care about, like business partners of L-Corp just for show."
"Right." Sam nods, "What about you, Kara?"
"Uhh.... well.... I guess out of everyone you don't already know about, I've invited Barry and Iris, and Oliver and Felicity. They are my friends from another Earth." Kara explains.
"Right...." Sam nods, "Your superhero friends...."
"Aren't there more than that?" Alex asks.
"Uhh.... well.... I did invite Sara too, but I actually haven't got a response to her invitation. She's a time traveller, so she might not have even got our wedding invitation yet." Kara explains.
"Wait? Your friend can time travel?" Sam asks, with some shock on her face.
Kara chuckles.
"Yeah. Sara has like a time travel spaceship or whatever. But Barry can time travel too." Kara says.
"What? How? Does he, like, have a car that time travels?" Sam asks.
Alex chuckles.
"This isn't Back to The Future, babe." Alex smiles.
"No. Barry can just run really really fast. Like, literally faster than I can fly. So, he can time travel that way." Kara explains, "It's also one of the reasons he can actually travel between universes. It's how we met the first time."
"Wow." Sam says, "So, do you actually have any friends from another Earth who can't time travel?"
Kara chuckles.
"Oliver can't. He doesn't have super powers or anything." Kara says.
"How is he a superhero then?" Sam asks.
"He can fight really well, and is good with a bow and arrow." Kara explains.
"Oh my god! You're friends with Robin Hood!" Sam exclaims.
Kara laughs again at Sam saying that.
"Don't say that to him. He won't like that comparison." Kara smirks.

It is now the following weekend, and over the last few days, Lena has continued to go see Lillian in the hospital, but her mother has basically put her under strict orders to actually get back to work at L-Corp, and only come and see her once a day. Lillian wants Lena to take care of herself first, and that includes both L-Corp, and her family. So, Lena has mostly been sticking to Lillian's request, and only going to see her for about an hour or so in the afternoon, once she finishes work, or sometimes during her lunch hour.
Right now though, Lena, Kara, Alura and Morgan are actually all at a house a few miles north of National City. The family are viewing this house because it is one of the possible places that Lena and Kara are thinking about buying to move to, where their kids can have some more space to run about in a garden and everything. The house itself is situated on several acres of land, which means that not much can be seen from the road in front of the house, which will offer Kara, Lena, Morgan and Alura a lot of privacy, which is something Lena and Kara want very much, for multiple reasons. Then on top of that, the house has a very large back yard, which leads onto the back of some woodlands. This means that no other houses are behind this home, which again will offer a lot of privacy.
"I love how much land there is around this house." Kara says, "So much room for you two to play and run around."
"Yes. If we move here, can we build a jungle gym in the garden?" Alura asks.
Lena and Kara both chuckle.
"Anything you want, darling." Lena smiles.
The family continue to look around the house for a little longer, checking out every room. The house itself definitely will need to be refurbished before they all move in, if they do buy the place, because it is very old, and the home is actually only up for sale because the previous owner had a heart attack and died, at the age of 102, and now his family are just selling his home. But the house has 2 stories. The ground floor contains a kitchen, living room, large pantry, washing and dryer room, a home theatre, and a room that is currently a games room. The second floor then contains several bedrooms, all with en-suites, and two home offices.
"Wow. This house is incredible." Kara comments, as they finish looking around the bedrooms.
"Yeah." Lena agrees, "What do you think, Morgan?"
"It doesn't have a swimming pool. I thought we were going to get a home with a swimming pool?" Morgan says, in a cute voice.
"Yeah! I want a house with a swimming pool!" Alura pouts.
"Well, I'm sure we could figure something out." Lena says, "If we bought this place, we wouldn't move in right away. I'd want the house to be refurbished, and then have some better security installed and everything. Then while those renovations are being done, we could build a pool somewhere. There is more than enough space to do that."
"Okay." Alura says.
"So, what do you think Lee?" Kara asks.
"I think.... I love it.... but... what do you think?" Lena asks.
"I love it too. But.... this is only like the third house we've seen. Shouldn't we see more?" Kara asks.
"Hmmm. Maybe." Lena says, "But.... I do really like this house..... I think.... maybe I'll phone a few architects and run a few ideas by them that I have for this house. Then after that, we can talk more about if we want to put in an offer?"
"Okay." Kara smiles happily, and takes Lena in for a kiss.
