It was a regular Friday afternoon sitting on my bed talking to my sister Ana while reading a magazine with books stacked up around me "Hey, hey what's up? Why are you crying" I asked my sister trying to comfort her
"My asshat of a husband cheated on me with that skanky babysitter I hired" I was gutted for her but also not surprised as he was a little shady anyway
"No! Stop, are you fucking kidding me?! With her as well Seriously?! She looks like she's fresh out of the nineties!" I grabbed stem of my wine glass and took a sip as i flipped a page of the magazine and pushed it away
"Yep my life is pathetic" she sighed sadly
"Awh, honey you'll be okay and hey if you want me to kill that bastard just say the word oka-" I was interrupted mid sentence when I heard a door slam. Did he have to be so goddamn loud all the time.
"Jesus! Can you be any louder!'" I shouted across the house
"Did Rio come in or is it someone else?" She asked from the other end of the phone
"No it's just Rio coming back from work. He slammed the door a bit to hard!" I yelled making sure he heard. He walked into the bedroom and looked exhausted so I decided to say goodbye and hang up. My favorite part of the day was welcoming Rio home, I'd missed him all day and he was finally home.
"Listen um, I gotta go but if you need me I'm here okay tell little Aria I say hey, okay bye!" He looked at me and his eyes immediately to the books that surrounded me, I'd been reading all day because I had no plans with anyone else and way bored.
"how was your day?" He asked
"It was okay, Ana just called to tell me about that dumbass husband of hers cheating with the kids babysitter" I answered him, watching him take of his shirt as it was already pretty muggy out and he was just tired of the heat.
"Holy fuck really? Is she okay?" He questioned
"Yep, I swear to god If I see him again I will kill him. He's such an ass, like what is someone like that doing with someone like her!" I said as I gathered up the books on the bed. I didn't want to make it seem like I was lazy but I didn't have a job so what was I doing?
"Well I guess you haven't been up to much today except from..reading" he looked at my choice of the books around me credence, twisted love, king of wrath and loads more. His eyes widened as if realisation dawned on him knowing what I read
"Yeah I haven't got anything to keep my mind occupied except hot fictional men" he came to the bed sighing as he hit the mattress beneath him, he stared up at the ceiling as I was led next to him
"Ouch" he chuckled. I playfully swatted my hand on his chest
"You know I've been thinking..how about we start a family soon?" I asked. The thought has crossed my mind a lot over the past few weeks but I haven't worked up the courage to ask him
"A family?" He said confused
"You heard me" I snarked
"We have Marcus isn't that enough?" He said. I sat up as I prepared myself for what I was about to say
"Yeah but he's not ours, well he is but you know what I mean, he's not mine and you know I've always wanted a child of our own. It's just been on my mind recently seeing Marcus running around, and I'm afraid that you might leave me before we get to-" I stopped in my tracks. Shit. I spoke my mind which is too truthful for my own good, and if I say what's on it, it comes back to bite me in the ass. He looked up at me and must've saw something on my face because he sat us up and took my hand
"Relax, relax I'm not going anywhere not anytime soon, your not going to lose me" he reassured me. I honestly don't deserve him, he deals with my paranoia too often and sometimes I feel bad, but I chose him and he chose me. The sweet little moment was interrupted as his phone beeped, he grabbed the phone next to him
"Shit, I gotta go" he said quietly
"It's fine, go" I insisted. This is exactly what I mean. I feel like I hold him back and that he has to stay here with me
"I don't wanna leave you, besides it's not that important" he said
"Or, I could go with you?" I suggested. He looked at me as if i was joking
"Your kidding right?" he said seriously
"No I'm not joking I wanna help. Look a girl in a laundering ring would be perfect, say if you wanted to make a big drop. A big tough scary guy looks suspicious but a sweet innocent woman moving it they won't think twice" I explained. It wasn't the bets argument but It worked
"Yeah there is no way I am putting you at risk so you can forget that" he scoffed
He's always been protective of me and keeping me out of the business to keep me safe. I'm understood it but I wanted to be wherever he was.
"Okay fine, for once I'm not gonna fight you on something" I raised my hands a little in defence. He rubbed his thumb over my hand softly and inched forward and gently landed a kiss on my lips and I sat there feeling so full of love and appreciation that I didn't want that moment to end. I wanted it to last forever. That was until he moved out of my grip and grabbed the shirt that was on the chair and threw it on, he came back and pecked my lips quickly before he left
"Be safe" I said softly
"I will" he kept the same soft tone as he left my sights

I spent the next few hours out with Ana and her kids, Aria and Jake. I hadn't seen them in a while and it was refreshing to get out of the house and play with them for a few hours at Ana's. When i got home i sat on the couch and changed into some comfy clothes, and chose a book from my bookshelf and relaxed in the living room for a while with Taylor swift in the background. An hour later, i was reading "It Ends With Us" when i heard a sound coming from the door, and realised that it was just Rio
"Hey, how was work?!" I yelled across to him. He didn't say anything though, I put the book down and turned around to see him but he covering his face. Concern started to set in and I got up and walked over to see what was wrong, but he went to the kitchen sink and was washing his face. I looked down and to find blood in the water
"Oh my god! What happened!" I said. I placed my hand on the side of his face trying to get a view instead he brushed me off
"Nothing, don't worry about it, work went sideways, that's it" he went over to the table He pulled out a chair and sat down completely ignoring my attempts to help. He didn't bother hiding it this time and he had a bruises on his jaw and eye plus a cut on his right eyebrow
"That's not nothing! You've got two bruises and a cut near your eye!" I said. I went in the cupboard and found a med kit, along with a warm wet towel. This is why I worried about him. I kneeled in front of him as he had his head down already, I used one of my hands to place the towel lightly on the cut, I massaged a cream gently into one of the bruises. The entire time was doing it he held my lower arm
"Thank you" he sighed with his eyes closed. He was exhausted, I couldn't blame him.
"I wouldn't be doing my job as your girlfriend if I didn't do this" I smiled. He let out a weak chuckle in response. All I cared about was making this man happy. What is he doing that gets him into this kind of shit?
"Come on. You need to relax" I finished by bandaid on his cut then grabbed his hands pulling him up from the chair and walked him over to the couch, without protest. A win in my book. I sat down as he laid his head on my lap, eyes closed as I ran my hand through his buzzed haircut and he started to doze off In my lap

It was dark, and by then I moved us to the bed and changed into comfy clothes. A few hours later, I woke up to him sleeping next to me with the cover on him waist down, I pulled the white silk satin over him as I watched him sleep like a baby for a second. I put on one of his black tank tops that reached my mid thigh and reached to my bedside table to check my phone and saw that i had a missed call from Ana. I didn't want to wake him, so i climbed out onto the fire escape closing the window behind me to called her back
"Hey, it's me, I'm sorry I missed you i got tied up call me back when you get this" I doubt that she was awake but it was worth a shot. I was checking my instagram when suddenly I felt hands on my waist and warm breath on my neck
"Hey, did I wake you?" I asked him half asleep. He ran his lips along my shoulder blade and I titled my head to the side to respond
"Nah" he replied quietly, then grabbed my hips and pulled me in closer to him. I turned around and wrapped my arms around his neck and looked into his eyes
"You know you have beautiful eyes" I smiled. He smiled back at me and brushed hair out of my face
I glided my finger down his jawline and smiled the whole time feeling like I've won at life. i suddenly got really cold chill climb up my back and took Rio's hand and walked us inside. I got back in bed and buried myself in the satin silk cover, he got in beside me and pulled me in close stroking my head
"Isn't Marcus coming tomorrow? I haven't seen that little guy in ages" i asked quietly
"Yep, that means I don't have work" he said
"Well, you're gonna have to look after him during the night, I have plans tomorrow" I said
"What plans?" He asked
"Im meeting Ana for drinks tomorrow at seven so I'll be out late" I replied. I eventually got tired and fell asleep in his arms next to to him

The next morning, I woke up and saw that Rio was gone. It was nearly one in the afternoon, shit! I was supposed to be up at 11, whatever. I did my daily morning routine and made a coffee and breakfast which was just a piece of toast, then checked my phone for any messages or emails, lastly my morning shower which normally takes me an hour to an hour and a half. Max. By then it was just after 3, I thought fuck it and decided to get myself ready in the meantime, I put on my black jeans, a white crop top and did my makeup. As i was putting on my Dior lip oil in the main room mirror, I heard the door open
"Alright, alright, chill! Go say hi to Maya!" Rio laughed with his son as he closed the door. Marcus came running to me with his overnight bag in his hand. I picked him up and lifted him into the air playfully
"Oh my god! You've gotten so big! Look at you!" I cooed
"Yeah, he has" Rio smiled taking off his jacket and setting it on the chair by the door. He walked over to me and kissed me on the cheek with Marcus still in my arms. I chuckled and put him down
"Go and play in your room I got you some new toys! I need to talk to daddy okay? Go on!" I sighed and went to him at the kitchen island and gave him a welcome home kiss, then went to make a coffee and get a cigarette from my bag
"Why do you get to see him every other weekend your a great dad i mean, I don't understand why she won't let you have him more You need to talk to her" i said lighting my cigarette before taking a puff. We were both taking turns with the cigarette, talking when suddenly his phone rang he picked up and his face went from calm and happy to furious in less that a minute
"Yo, Yeah? What?! Okay I'll be there soon"
"What is it that's got you riled up?" I asked
"You know that grocery store I get my money through?" He said
"Yeah, Fine N Frugal what about it?" I replied
"It got fucking robbed! Fuck!" He shouted. He slammed his hand on the counter making me jump a little
"Calm the fuck down! Marcus is here lower your voice!" I said firmly, he took a deep breath and started pacing
"And that's not the worst part they took half a million dollars!" He slammed his hands on the kitchen counter again out of anger standing completely still
"Half a million dollars?!" My eyes widened for a second trying to process. I putout the cigarette just in case I dropped it
"What is that much money doing at a shitty grocery store anyway?!" I asked
"It's an agreement we have with small businesses. How could I so stupid!" He said still looking at the floor
"No, That's actually really smart. Because no cops would think to look there, and if they did they wouldn't question it. Who took it anyway?" I said
"Apparently, three women robbed it and they were smart too" he grabbed his phone from the counter next to him and started typing. Women robbed it? I mean I'm all for female empowerment, and that's literally iconic of them
"My boy just text me one of their addresses"
"Let me go with you, I mean I can be intimidating, anyways a girl on girl fight sounds fun and I'll have you to keep me safe" I said. He stood there and thought about it for a second
"You know what, you're right, grab Marcus" he said. I grabbed my black leather jacket and Marcus then we left, we got into Rio's car and went to the girls house. I was excited but also nervous to see how this all worked, like how does he talk, do things, handle situations and all that stuff. And now I finally get to see
When we arrived I told Rio's partner to stay outside with Marcus because I obviously can't leave him there on his own. Three more people came in separate cars, and they definitely looked like Rio's associates. We inside around the back way, and a dog went running out, Me and Rio were in the kitchen waiting for them come back he was sat on the counter while I was standing with my hand in his, We heard the door open and everyone stood still.
"Hey buddy what's wrong? You need to go potty? You need to pee pee?" The woman said as she entered the house. She had short ginger hair and blue eyes with groceries in her hands and judging by the way her house looks definitely a mother of at least 3
"Nah, hes good" Rio said. The lady screamed dropping the groceries
"We already took him out" He said, she saw the gun on the counter next to him and she looked terrified
"What do you want?" She asked hesitantly
"Oh relax sweetheart" he said jumping up from the counter and walking past me
"I just need you to call your lady friends over so we can all have...a little talk" he said sounding intimidating. In my mind I was thinking that he has this whole different personality apart from the loving dominant boyfriend I know and to be honest it kinda turned me on and scared me at the same time
"About what?" Beth hesitated
"Oh about the money you stole from us" he replied. I was stood in the corner admiring him and trying not to get involved
Beth made the phone call and about ten minutes later they both arrived and sat next to Beth against the wall
"Yo, this blacksplash is dope. What's it made out of marble? You ever get any problems with staining back here. Like if you cooking a pot of spaghetti sauce or something like that?" He asked. But, I think he was being serious for some odd reason
"No I don't think so" Beth said
"Nah?" He looked at it as if he wanted one at our house
"We didn't know you owned the grocery store" Ruby said with tears in her eyes. She was definitely the soft one out of all them and really didn't want trouble. Sucks to be her right now. He turned to his men behind him preparing to attack if anything goes wrong
"I look like some grocery store manager to you? Or like. Like Rotary club or something?" He said trying to scare them. He walked up to the three women almost towering them with his six foot height
"Nah, let's just say that we got some certain arrangements with some local businesses. And we help each other out and whatnot you know?" He said
"Like...money laundering for drugs. I told you it was shady" she whisper yelled looking at Rio then turning to the others
"Why don't you stop worrying about my business dealings and start figuring out how you're gonna pay me my money back" he raised his voice walking a little back and stopping
"We can get it back"
"Oh that would be great" he smiled
"Most of it" Annie spoke up shakily
"I'm sorry what?" He questioned
"Some of it. For sure" she stuttered.
"Oh, what like you guys didn't spend a dime!" She whispered
"How much Annie?" Beth asked
"I don't know. I probably spent like, a hundred....grand?" She said. The others were in pure disbelief
"Nah you just gonna pay me back is all. I mean real quick too. With interest. So we'll see you real soon yeah?" He said
"You know you've really gotta be careful ladies" he took out his gun and waved it around near their faces and they were scared straight
"I mean with citrus on marble, like lemon and whatnot. That stuff will erode like crazy" he said smiling at them. He wasn't wrong though citrus and marble is not a good combo
He put his gun back behind his jacket and walked away and so did the rest of us. As the door shut Rio put his arm around me and kissed my cheek. Rafael was still guarding Marcus and he was safe when we got back in the car, Rio's men went their separate ways and we went ours heading home

We got home and I got ready to meet my sister for drinks at the bar Rio owned as it wasn't usually busy and it had a good alcohol selection, but I couldn't decide between a black satin dress or leggings and cute top. I'm 5,10 so, black could make me seem taller than I am, or it's a bit too dressy and go with the leggings and top to be safe?
"Babe! Could you come here for a second please?" I yelled from the other side of the apartment
"Yeah what is it?" He asked when he arrived in the bedroom
"Can you help me choose my out I can't decide between the black dress or the leggings and top?" I asked
"Really? You know I don't know nothing about choosing outfits, ma" he said. He says that, but actually when I ask him he's actually good at picking for me, because I am the most indecisive person. Ever.
"Close your eyes and pick left or right" I had the options laid on the bed so I wouldn't have to hold them
"Right" he said
"Thank you! Your services are no longer needed" I said. I took a step foward and pecked him on the lips, then he took a few steps towards the doorway but he leant against it eyeing me with a smirk on his face
"What are you doing? I need to get dressed" I laughed
"Alright fine I'll go, come and show me when your ready" he said walking away. Jesus, he was something
I put on the outfit and did my makeup and hair and went into the other room where Marcus was with his father laughing playing a video game. As he turned around to grab something and saw me standing against the wall watching them
"You like?" I smiled. He eyed me up and down and started to walk to towards me and whispered in my ear
"You look stunning" he said. I laughed at his comment
"Well Ana is picking me up and I'm gonna out most of the night and won't be back until like 3 unless I get too drunk and she drags my ass back, so don't wait up" I said
"Call me if you need anything okay?" He smiled at me then I left

A few hours later, me and Ana were talking outside getting some air with a martini in our hands "So you haven't said a word about Rio tonight. How are things with you two?" She asked, I sighed deeply
"They're going good I asked to go on a job with him because these women robbed his store. I know crazy right? Anyways we went to her house and scared her and her little friends into giving him his money back" I said excitedly
"Wow! You've been busy then huh?" She said
"Yep but I want more, like I want to be involved in the drops and the exchanges. I just want to make sure he's safe because he has Marcus and I don't want him growing up without a dad you know?" I added
"Are you out of your mind?! Absolutely not! Being in a money laundering ring is extremely dangerous! Even if Rio is there" She said, I looked down and thought about it. She was right, but I was bored and needed a bit of thrill and excitement in my life
"Obviously! I'm just bored and I need a but of danger in my life, and I know Rio won't always be there to keep me safe, but I think I'm gonna call him and talk to him" I explained. Shit, I'm drunk. I don't normally spill everything when I'm sober. Anwaysssss. I took out my phone from my back pocket and carefully placed my phone on the little table next to me and dialled his number
"Hey, what's up?" He asked over the phone
"Nothing, all good. I wanted to ask could I be part of your gang" i asked sounding drunk
"Excuse me?" He said
"What I said was, I want to be part of your gang" I said leaning against a wall
"Okay, Maya I think you're drunk" he laughed
"No, I'm serious I want in" I stated
"Come home, yeah" said
"God you are such a buzzkill and just because you said that, I'm gonna stay and get even more drunk than I am now okay bye!" I said before hanging up the phone. God I hate people who are fun killers. Going back in, I found Ana on the phone to someone and she was laughing at whatever the person said. Is she talking to a new guy? Her kids? I don't know but I just want her to be happy. She glanced behind her and saw me standing by the doors, and her smile disappeared as she hang up and came over to me
"Are you okay?" She asked
"Yeah, no I'm fine. Are you talking to a new guy? I could tell by the look on your face" I said. Her eyes widened and a light shade of pink rose to her cheeks
"Maybeeee" she smiled
"Bitch! Spill!" I chuckled nudging her shoulder playfully
"Okay, his name is Damon and he's the brother of one of my friends, she gave me the green light and gave him my number and we've been talking for a little while now" she answered. Now she can finally forget about her piece of shit EX husband
"Oh my god! That's so good! I'm happy for you" I said. After I finished laughing I was starting to lose my balance and I couldn't see straight. The alcohol. My now sworn enemy.
"Hey, can we get out of here?" My voice slured slightly
"Of course, but I'm never letting you live this down" she laughed. Great.

"Hellooooo?" The house was silent and no sight of life which means Rio has either gone to bed or he's working on his laptop. Ana had me under her arm holding me up making sure I don't fall. Rio came walking round the corner
"Be quiet Marcus is asleep!" He said quietly
"Oh shit! Sorry!" I whispered. I was only 5,7 and compared to Rio's 6 foot height, I was tiny. He took me from Ana and scooped me up into his arms cradling me like a child. I was starting to get sleepy as he carried me to the bedroom, I could barely keep my eyes open. He carefully placed me on the bed and took of my shoes then my outfit, but as he was doing it he was talking to Ana at the same time
"How much did she have to drink?" He laughed
"I don't know, a lot. She's such a lightweight" she chuckled
"She really is" he said placing the cover over me, but before he could I snatched it from him and curled into it
"I should probably get home to my kids and pay the sitter, see ya!" She said before turning around and leaving. He showed her out and stopped in the kitchen to get me a glass of water, but when he came back I was nearly asleep
"Come on, here, you need to drink" he said trying to get me drink it by bringing it to my mouth, I drank a little bit of it which I guess was good enough for him because he left it on the bedside table and sat next to me
"I didn't mean to get so drunk" I mumbled
"I know" he said as he stroked my hair soothing me
"Will I remember anything in the morning?" I asked
"Probably not" he chuckled
"Can I marry you?" Shit, I said that? Drunk brain is the worst
"Sure, I'll marry you" he said as he climbed in bed next to me
"Really!" I said turning over to look at him
"Cmon, go to sleep, you're drunk darling" he smiled softly
"Alright, fine"

The next morning, I woke up with the worst headache ever, seriously like it felt like my head had been smashed into a brick wall. I sat up pressed my hand to my temple trying to ease the pain but it was no use. The mirror that was hanging on the wall made me realise how bad my makeup was smudged and my hair looked like a birds nest. Come to think of it, how did I get home? I grabbed the blanket I had on me and walked to the kitchen and saw Rio sitting at the table counting his money
"Morning" i groaned
"Good, you're awake, I was starting to think you were dead" he said. I pretty much fell into the chair opposite him considering I could barely stand and propped my head on my hand
"My head is killing, do we have any aspirin or something! God!" I complained. I reluctantly got up and looked in the cupboard
"Thank god, there are two left" I said. Looks like luck is pulling through, I got a glass of water and immediately took them hoping they will kick in extremely quickly
"Hey, did I do anything embarrassing last night?" I said sitting back in my seat
"Well, you came back and said "helloooo" loudly when Marcus was sleeping, then you asked me to marry you, basically you were a train wreck" he explained
"Oh my god, I'm sorry" I said. He shot me a smile then went back to counting his money
"Wait, where's Marcus?" I totally forgot he was here and I had no idea where he was. Amazing parenting skills Maya.
"At school" he said. Of course. Get your shit together
"You know last night how i said that I wanted marry you?" I asked grabbing the blanket and tightening it around me because it was freezing outside due to the autumn weather
"Yeah, what about it you were drunk?" He said
"Oh it's nothing" I think I was still hungover. Why the fuck did I say that? I moved myself to the couch where I could lie down and try to sleep some more but I didn't want to be alone right now, but I couldn't do that because Rio followed me and in front of me
"What's on your mind?" He asked
"Nothing it's fine. Im Just in an emotional hangover"
"Tell me" He pressed
"Nothing I was just thinking about it, you know after 5 years together and I've loved every second of it and want it to last forever" I explained. I really do love him and, not sure if I would survive without him
"Shit" he sighed
"What?"
"You've ruined it"
"Ruined what?" What is he on about?
"The surprise"
What surprise? What is happening? Wait...no...way
"No"
"Maybe" a little smile came on his face watching my confusion
"I don't get it" I was literally baffled. I had no idea what he was talking about until he broke out into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. Realisation hit me like bus. Motherfucker
"I actually hate you" I chuckled
"I'm sorry" he laughed
"Whatever" my smile was still there nonetheless of the cruel prank he just played on me, his stupid pranks always leave me either crying or laughing. I guess this one was laughing. The moment ended when his phone vibrated from his back pocket and when he checked it the happiness was gone
"Work" he said
"Let me come with you...please?" I said looking up at him
"You sure? it could get ugly?"
"Yes, i wanna be more involved and I've got you and maybe I can get my own gun?" I said. He stopped to think for a second
"Fine, cmon get dressed" he said. I laughed, I ran to the bedroom and put on an oversized t-shirt and blue jeans quickly and left with him

We drove to Beth's house, when we got there they were waiting for us with a bag on the table. He walked up to them intimidatingly as his guys counted the money
"You're Short " Rio said standing over the women
"No, were not" Annie replied
"Yeah you are" I was stood over on the other side of the table, and I could tell that he was tired of these women
"Actually...were over" she said getting out a box from underneath her
"See, these are super rare collectables" she said taking out these little figurines
"Treasures" Beth said
"Yes, sister you're correct. That's a better word for these because these super rare treasures go for ten to fifteen Gs on eBay. How much legwork is there right? But the truth is it's very little. Because we have done the lions share of the work for you. Ruby?" She explained. Rio was just pretending to go along with it. But he was growing impatient
"These are the usernames and passwords for our eBay accounts. Plus, auction tips to maximise your profits" Ruby said sliding a piece of paper across the table
"You want me sell your dolls?" Rio asked
"Tell him about Hans" Beth chirped in
"Ooh, our little drummer boy. Pride of Hamburg!" Annie said cheerfully. He picked up the little doll in his hands looking at it for second
"You see Hans here is one of only 12 in the entire" but before she could finish he smashed the figure on the table. He paused for a second and looked down
"This some kind off joke to you?" He said frustratedly. They shook their heads as they were too scared to say anything
"I'm done playing with you guys" he said he left the room and signalled for me to go with him. He put his hand on my cheek looking me in the eye
"Go..I don't want you to be for this" he said, as I saw the guys destroy the house and getting their guns out
"What's going on? Are you gonna kill them?" I asked He looked at me for a second and sighed
"It's just business darling" he said reassuringly
"Okay fine, whatever, but I want none of this tying to us" I stated. He smiled and caressed my cheek with his hand. I decided to stay and watch so I could get used to the idea of this gang violence and shit
"You're an idiot" Said the one the gun pointed at. Rio and I turned around immediately
"Excuse me" he said angrily
"Beth!" One of them whimpered
"What are you gonna blow our brains out all over the room? Cause that's how it works right? Someone shorts you and they get tossed out like trash? And no one cares. Your problem this time is that's not us. We're normal people.. we pay our taxes and we take our kids to PF Chang's, and we take orange slices to soccer games. And when bad things happen to good people everyone else goes crazy. It's all over the news, and there are all these hashtags and movements. Because if it could happen to us it could happen to anyone. So if you wanna invite all that attention...over a few grand then your not the smart business man you think you are. Now roll the dice. Tell him to pull the trigger." Beth said confidently
Rio and I just sat there for a second and exchanged glances i shook my head to say don't do it. He looked away and thought about it. He shook his head at the guy holding the gun to her head the guys packed up and me and Rio left
"She was right. Killing them wouldn't be a smart move, and it would be hard to clear up" he explained as we walked out to the car
"Yeah, she did have a point" I said
"I got some other business to take care off you're staying in the car"
"Why? Is it gang business?" I asked looking at him
"Yes" he said looking back at me

He drove into a dark alleyway and there was waiting a black Mercedes Benz, two men stepped out of the car with two black duffel bags. They handed them to Rio, he shook they're hands and walked back to the car putting the bags in the back underneath the seat
"Whats that?"
"500k" my eyes widened, how did he just handed that much in cash?
"They just gave you that?" I asked
"I had to do a job then got that to give to the others client" he said
"Other people?"
"This ain't real yet, you're forgetting what I do" he glanced over at me with a ghost of a smile on his lips
"Okay good speaking of cash when are we going to our cash back from those bitches?" I said
"Yeah I'll get it out off them, I need to pick up Marcus up from school soon anyway" he sighed.

"Can i go and get him as you do it everyday and I think he'll be happy to see me instead of you for a change?" I asked him
"You sure? The moms at pick up can be a little judgmental towards other moms. But most moms just look at me, I heard that they find the dads attractive" He said
"Please I can handle these bitchy moms. And they aren't wrong you are ridiculously hot" I smirked and slowly pulled him in by the neck of his shirt and finally connected my lips with his as hs gave me the same energy back, until I pulled away and climbed out of the car. I waited 2 minutes until I saw Marcus walking out of school
"Hey buddy how was school!" I said looking at him but he just looked down and looked sad. He came up to me and started crying and hugged me
"Hey what's wrong?" I said getting down to hug him, He wouldn't tell me, so I looked over at the car and he was on his phone and he had the window down slightly. He glanced up at us and saw me looking at him to come over tilting my head down at Marcus. He got out of the car and quickly came over to us
"Kids at school are being mean to me!" He said crying hugging me. Rio looked down at me and I looked back at him. I stood up carefully with Marcus in my arms, I handed Marcus to Rio, thinking it would help him calm down
"Who is being mean to you?" I said softly. He pointed towards two kids standing by a tree. Rio put Marcus down
"Stay here" he said to him. Me and Rio walked over to the kids moms
"Hey! You're kids have been bullying our kid!" I said They stood there and looked confused
"What are you talking about? Our kids would never do that they're babies" they said acting all snob like
"Let's get them over here shall we?" He said smiling at them in an evil sense
"Fine but they're going to tell you that they didn't do anything our kids are angels" one of the moms said. They called their kids over. I kneeled down to their level to talk to them
"Hi so, Marcus just told me that you have been bullying him Is that true?" I asked, They exchanged nervous glances at one another
"No! We haven't he's lying!" One of them said nervously
"Well he's over there really upset. Do you have anything to say?" I said
"We're sorry" they said
"Okay, well if you ever bully him again something bad will happen okay?" I smiled. As I stood up I gave an intimidating glance to the moms. Then walked away, Rio put his arm over my shoulder and I took Marcus by the arm
"Damn mama, you handled that well" he said
"Told you I can handle them" I smiled at him
"Cmon buddy" I picked him up and put him in the car
"Those kids won't bully you again I promise" I said looking him in the eye, I kissed him on the cheek and got in the car
"I swear, those moms need to teach their kids lessons in behaviour or I'll do it for them" I said angrily
"As i said, bitchy moms" Rio chuckled
"Well at least he'll go into school tomorrow knowing he won't be bullied by those asshat kids" I said
"Hey when we get home you can have whatever you want for dinner okay?" I said turning to Marcus
"Can we have pizza!" He said cheerfully
"Of course! But it's up to daddy" we both turned to him
"Yes we can have pizza" he said. I smiled and grabbed his hand and Marcus cheered
