Percy walked towards the creepy figure of the Whomping Willow, using his training he quickly dodged the rampacious branches and slid down the tunnel. He walked inside the dark and dusty Shrieking Shack eyeing the various marks on the wall; claw marks.
He sat down on the dusty and abandoned piano, gently touching the keys. He closed his eyes, playing from sheer muscle memory. Melodious, and mellow music converted the gloomy environment into peaceful heaven.
Percy did not know how long he had been playing, or when he had started crying. He became alert when he felt someone else occupy the creaky bench he was sitting on. He relaxed noting the familiar presence, he breathed in her smell.
He opened his eyes, to see a small smile on Adhara's face; the smile that used to be reserved solely for him. He smiled softly as she joined him, her skilled fingers gently gracing the piano.
The sweet and intense music of Clair De Lune echoed against the empty walls. The two of them communicated in their own way, through music. They poured their stress, frustration, and anger into music. They poured their heart and soul into the music.
Adhara leaned her head against Percy's shoulder, the two of them letting their silent tears flow out, happy with each other's presence.
"I'm sorry," Percy told her, playing the last few notes. The music had stopped and the Shack turned silent once more.
"For what?" Adhara questioned, not lifting her head from his shoulders. Percy gently wrapped his arm around her waist, laying his head on her, as he replied:
"For not being there for you, when you needed you the most. For distancing myself from you. For every single time, you have cried because of me. I don't deserve you Ar- "
"Don't," Adhara told him, turning towards him. Their knees brushed, as she gently cradled his face.
'Don't," she repeated, tears glistening in her eyes. "Don't ever tell me, you don't deserve me, Percy. Because you do. You deserve me more than anyone else."
Percy looked at her with adoration and love shining in his eyes. He couldn't believe he had ignored and distanced himself from her, for so long. He always acted on impulse, and for the millionth time in his life, he was glad he did. Because the moment when he crashed his lips with hers, the hole in his heart filled up.
Their lips molded perfectly, as they kissed with intensity and passion they had never experienced before. Adhara's hand left his face and tangled itself in his hair, gently tugging his soft curls. Percy groaned, holding her waist tightly, he pulled her towards him, kissing her with lust and love, that had been hidden for years.
His lips left her lips, and as she straddled him, he sucked on her neck, making Adhara moan out loudly. "I've imagined doing this so many times," Percy whispered against her throat, sucking it harder. Adhara's head fell back in pleasure, her eyes connected with Percy's, speaking all the unspoken words.
"I've imagined you screaming my name. I've imagined marking you. I've imagined you being mine. And I was so stupid to see it for years, all these times I had been with someone just because I was scared, I could have been with you. Every time you dated someone, I wished it was me. But I was so fucking scared that you didn't feel the same way, I -" Adhara cut Percy off, by pulling him into an intense kiss.
The tongues clashed and teeth clicked. Percy bit her lower lip, making her moan loudly. They pulled up apart when they were out of breath. Adhara rested her head against Percy, inhaling and exhaling the same air.
"I love you. I've loved you ever since we were twelve." she rasped out looking at him with a smile. Percy grinned, "I love you too. Ever since we were twelve." he confessed in a husky voice, pulling her into a hug.
"Why did you date, Annabeth?" Adhara asked him, holding him tightly against her.
"Because I was scared. I was scared that you didn't feel the same way. And then one day, I came to Ilvermony to surprise you, and I saw you. I saw you being pinned against the wall, and kissing one of the students. And I was jealous, and I started dating Annabeth. And soon you started dating other boys, and I decided to move on. I know it wasn't fair to Annabeth, but I think some part of me believed that I could love her the way I loved you. But I never could." Percy held Adhara tightly, as she sobbed. He was the only person who would ever see her crying.
"I'm sorry. If I had known- If I had known that you were there, I would have pushed Tyler off me. I only kissed him, because he wanted to make his crush jealous. I did not even like him, you were the only person I've ever liked."
"And I'll be the only person you will ever like," Percy told her firmly, making her laugh.
"I love you."
Adhara spent the night in Percy's embrace, sleeping peacefully for the first time in months.
