Aiden POV
I stare at the ceiling, and wonder. What happened to the good ol' days? Me fighting aliens, saving people, the world even. But it's been a few years now, and no new aliens have decided to come out of their hidey holes.
These were my thoughts as I sat at the table of my house, eating breakfast. Ever since I got the New Omnitrix, I didn't get the chance to use it often. The only interesting thing that's ever happened are the Spatial Quakes that occur from time to time. But, it's not exactly something I can punch in the face. Then, I hear a certain girl yelling upstairs of the house I'm at.
Aiden: That girl is gonna be the death of him...
I'm hanging out at a friend's house, Shido Itsuka. And right now, he's getting the worst wake up call of his life in the form of her little sister yelling at him, Kotori Itsuka. Then I hear an actual scream from Kotori which makes me drop my fork and jump.
Aiden: WHY.
I take a step to try and make my way to the screaming, but Kotori dashes through and steps on my foot in the process.
Aiden: OW-- GODAMMIT.
I hold my foot and after a minute, Shido comes in and sees me holding my foot.
Shido: You okay there?
Aiden: Sure, I'm holding my foot for no apparent reason-- of course I'm not okay! Your sister came running in here like a bat out of hell and stepped on my foot!
Shido: Can't really blame her, I did give her quite the scare. Speaking of.
He turns to Kotori whimpering behind a table she turned onto it's side.
Aiden: Just try not to give her a heart attack... And have her incidentally hurt me...
Shido: Hehe... No promisesss.
He then sneaks up next to Kotori and shouts gibberish and she backs up against the wall whimpering.
Shido: It's me. Calm down it's only me.
Kotori, still very much frightened from what he just did, still whimpers.
Kotori: Ar-are you sure...?
Shido: I am much good friend to you. Yes. I Kotori big brother.
He says as he puts one hand up while doing some weird voice.
Aiden: You sound stupid.
Shido: Whatever!
Then, Shido starts to make breakfast for Kotori, I already ate mine. So I'm sitting on the couch along with Kotori watching the news on a spatial quake appearing in the middle of Tengu City.
Shido: Again? It's close too.
Kotori: It was.
Aiden: Yup.
Shido: It's weird. There have been a lot lately.
Kotori: You're telling me.
I look at the lollipop in her mouth and immediately know what's coming.
Aiden: You better take that out your mouth before--
Shido: Hold it! No sweets!
Aiden: That happens...
He then tries to remove the lollipop from her mouth but fails, so he gives up. Today is the day that Kotori gets to choose what they eat for lunch. But this just leads to chaos.
Shido: Oh yeah. Got any requests for lunch?
Kotori: One Deluxe Kid's Plate!
Shido: That's from a diner menu. We don't serve that dish at this restaurant.
Kotori: C'mon please??? Pretty please? With a cherry on top? it's yummy...
Shido: ...Fine.
Aiden: You're weak when it comes to family.
Shido: Yeah yeah whatever.
Aiden: I mean. How hard is it to say-- no...
Kotori then looks up at me with that look.
Aiden: ...Give this kid what she wants.
Shido: Hypocrite!
Aiden: I KNOW.
The next thing we know, we're on our way to school. After Shido and Kotori meet in front of the Diner they were talking about. THEN we get to school. When we get to our classroom, I got placed with Shido. And, Tonomachi...
Tonomachi: Nice coincidence huh? Lucky you to be placed in the same class with me again. Some people call this fate, I would be one of those people.
Shido: ...Of course you would.
Aiden: God... This is just as bad as bad guys monologuing...
Then, his phone rings in his pocket, and says something I don't believe for a second.
Tonomachi: 'Scuse me, it's my girl.
Shido: Huh? "Girl" as in Girlfriend?
Tonomachi: Oh yeah, you wanna meet her?
Both me and Shido lean our heads in to look at his phone. But, what we saw was sad to say the least.
Shido/Aiden: That's a dating sim./That's a damn dating sim...
Tonomachi: So what? Doesn't change the fact that she's my girl.
Aiden: I don't know what's more depressing. Your lack of a girlfriend, or the fact that you love your phone as a girlfriend...
I lay my head back down to get a break. Then, I hear some girl call Shido's name, so I look over my shoulder, to see that the girl who said his name is, Origami Tobiichi. According to other people, she's a super genius, athletic, and good looking. That last one comes from boys. But eh, I like a girl with a little more personality. The school bell rings and I sit up. Then the teacher comes in, which is none other than Miss Okamine.
School went on and ended as it always does. Boring. But then, the Spatial Quake alarm goes off. And the intercom lady announces that a Spatial Quake is gonna happen, and suggesting for people to find shelter. Origami just leaves on ahead, the rest of us get lead to a shelter by a yelling Miss Okamine. As the line goes I look at Shido checking his phone. Probably worried about his sister. But then, his eyes widen and immediately runs.
Aiden: Oh no...
Tonomachi: Wait! Shido!
Aiden: I'll go get him!
I run after him and try to catch up, since he has a little head start on me.
Aiden: Shido!
As he runs he looks over his shoulder at me, but at the same time, a spatial quake happens. Blowing us back.
Aiden: AH!
The dust settles and we're both on the ground.
Aiden: Okay... Maybe it wasn't the best idea to run head first at a Spatial quake...
Shido: I get that now...
Aiden: That's great... I think I have a headache...
We both get up and look at the massive crater in front of us. We get a good look in it, and in it, is a girl and some other thing.
She then pulls a sword out that statue thing while glaring at us.
Aiden: I, don't like where this is going...
She then swings the sword downwards, shooting out a projectile that destroys a building near us.
Princess: Not you too...
She then appears right in front of us. Pointing her sword at our faces, glaring at us.
Princess: I see... So... You came here to kill me.
That assumption leaves me and Shido more than confused. We start to back up as she keeps coming closer.
Princess: Do not try to deny you're here to kill me. I must deal with you two before the others arrive.
Aiden: Waitwaitwait we can talk about this! I hope!
Shido: Yes exactly! That's not why we're here!
Princess: What...?
Shido: Isn't that why you're here...?
Then, her attention, as well as ours, turns to things in the sky. Once they're close enough, they're women in some sort of flight packs.
Aiden: Say wha...
They fire rockets towards us, but the girl stops them all before they could reach us. Then, she flies into the air and cuts down the rest of the rockets. She looks at us for only a moment, but even if it was for a short time, I could clearly see the sad look on her face. She then gets back to fighting the flying girls. All of their range attacks are pretty much useless, and a certain white haired girl lands behind us. That girl being Origami.
Shido: Tobiichi? Is that you?
Origami: It's you...
Shido: Why are you wearing that?
Aiden: That doesn't look like it protects you from anything!
But the moment is cut short when an energy slash goes near us.
Aiden: WHOA, okay. That is it!
I press the faceplate on the Omnitrix and a holographic interface appears.
Aiden: Come on Humungousaur...
Shido: What are you doing to your smart watch?
I try to dial in the alien I want, I take my hand off, and the core reveals itself so I hit it down.
Bloxx: Or Bloxx... That works too... I guess...
I look up to see that it turned into sword combat. But their blows are creating shockwaves.
Shido: What the heck is going on?!
Bloxx: No time for questions!
I then shapeshift my body into a wall in front of Shido to keep him safe while I face the fight that's taking place.
Bloxx: This is gonna suck so bad...
A giant omnidirectional blast along with a bright light begins to engulf us.
Bloxx: Oh shoot.
Once it does, I lose consciousness. But the next thing I know, I wake up, looking at a white ceiling.
Aiden: What the hell...
Then a hand shines a light in one of my eyes. Causing me to be startled and spout gibberish and fall off the bed.
Reina: It appears you're awake now.
Aiden: Ow... Okay... What's the big idea exactly?
Shido: And who are you?
Reina: My name is Reina Murasame. Just call me Reine. I'm the head analyst here. There's no reason for you to freak out. First aid is hardly out of my league.
Shido: So... Where exactly is here?
Aiden: Ditto.
Reine: You two are resting in Fraxinus' sick bay. You were unconscious so it was decided this was the best course of action.
Shido: Fraxi-what-now?
Aiden: You lost me.
Shido: Did I pass out? Right... We ended up in the middle of a fight... Kotori! My sister, I need to go find my sister!
Reine: Calm down. Your sister is perfectly fine.
Shido: She is?
Reine: I'm assuming you both want some sort of explanation. Apologies but that isn't really my forte. You should ask the vice commander for more details.
Aiden: No kidding you look like you haven't slept in days...
We head out the sick bay and Reine leads us to the command center.
Reine: I brought them with me.
We meet a man with long blonde hair.
Kyouhei: Thank you for taking care of them. It's very nice to meet you. My name is Kyouhei Kannazuki. And I am the vice commander welcome you two.
He then gestures to our right and we see the Commander, which just so happens to be Shido's little sister.
Kotori: Hey there, glad you could make it. Like the idiot said, welcome to Ratatoskr.
Then the big screen in front of us turns on, showing different images.
Kotori: This thing is a monster called a Spirit. Who was lost not long ago. Which means it disappeared. And this is what we call--
Shido: Wait, could you shut up for a second?
Kotori: Don't be rude. The commander is taking the time to explain everything to you personally. You should be on your knees bowing in gratitude. If you want, I can certainly let you lick my boots while you're at it.
Aiden: Hell no.
Kyouhei: What? Really? I can?
Aiden: What the hell dude...
Then he gets elbowed in the stomach and falls down the small stairs.
Shido: And uh, you are Kotori right?
Kotori: Of course. Have you forgotten what my face looks like? Shido?
Shido: No "bro"???
Kotori: I knew your memory was bad. But not this bad. Well, I guess we'll have to admit you into a nursing home pretty soon.
Aiden: Now that's just cruel.
Kotori: You said it...
Kotori: Now. You two have to remember the three things say. One, that girl is a Spirit. She doesn't belong in this world, and simply appearing causes everything around her to blow up whether she wants it to or not.
Aiden: Blow up. Right.
Shido: But why?
Kotori: You're so dumb... You know those things called Spatial Quakes? Well girls like that one are responsible for making them happen.
Aiden: Should've seen that one coming...
Then the screens turns to an image of the flying girls.
Kotori: Ready for two? These are the ground forces Anti-Spirit Team. When a Spirit appears, the AST flies to their location, and take care of it. Meaning they kill them.
Shido: Kill them?
Aiden: That explains a lot actually.
Kotori: And now for three. There is another way to deal with these Spirits without having to rely on the AST. This is the reason you're here and where your help will be most needed. And you, will be helping him.
She says looking at me.
Aiden: Helping-what-now?
Kotori: We'll have to make sure you start training tomorrow. Aiden will be fine. I'll leave the details to the person in charge of your development. In the meantime, just go back to school like normal.
Shido: Wait hold on could you slow down? Why would you train me? I mean seriously what could I possibly do? He has a smart watch that turns him into aliens!
Aiden: Thanks, Shido.
Shido: Sorry...
Kotori then stomps on Kyouhei's foot sending him down the stairs again.
Kotori: No one is asking your opinion on the matter. Your only option is yes.
Aiden: That's not really fair now is it?
Then she and Shido get into an argument on why he was there, I just block it out.
Aiden: This is gonna be a long day...
-Next Day-
We're back in school the next day. And, it doesn't feel the same anymore.
Ms. Okamine: Is everything enjoying day two of the new semester? Well i am because today we have a brand new assistant homeroom teacher with us!
We all turn to see it's Reine, still as sleep deprived as ever.
Reine: I'm Reine Murasame, and I'm excited to be here.
Then she falls over.
Aiden: ...What.
I clap my hands together then take a deep breath.
Aiden: Okay. Why.
-Later-
We were called to another room after school, meeting Kotori and Reine.
Shido: How did you end up as one of my teachers? Can you tell me what's going on? Please Ms. Mursame.
Aiden: Uh huh...
Reine: You can just call me Reine. 'K Shin? Aiden?
Shido: Uh, my name is Shido.
Reine: Is that right. Well, sorry Shin, my bad.
Shido: You can't be serious! C'mon you didn't even try to get it right! You got his right!
Aiden: Would you stop yelling!
Reine: It's more convenient for me to be close to you if I'm a member of the School's teaching staff.
Kotori: And you should've been able to figure that much out on your own. Try not to be so stupid.
Shido: Why don't you tell me why you're even here? Don't you have school?
Kotori: I got permission to come today.
She says showing her slippers.
Aiden: Uh huh...
Shido: Fine... So are you finally gonna explain to me what this training is for or what?
Kotori: It'll start to make more sense once you start using the training software. Hit it Reine.
She turns her chair, types on the keyboard, and pulls up the "Training Software".
Shido: Huh?
Aiden: You're joking right. This is that dating sim that Tonomachi called his "girlfriend".
Shido: He's right.
Kotori: No it's not. Take another look.
We both read the title clearly and we notice it says, "Fall In Love: My Little Shido".
Aiden: This is about to be my new normal isn't it?
