After Iroh's departure, it took me a while to get out of bed, but I did. I cleaned myself up and put on an outfit, And made my way up the deck where everyone was.

"Fara, good you're alive." Korra says as she was aggressively practicing her airbending with a tummy stand.

"Always dressed to fight." Mako chuckles.

I flex my nonexistent biceps. "You know it."

Bolin walks over as he places his arms around Mako and I. "So, are you and the General good? We explained everything to him before he went down to see you."

"Yeah, we're good. Thanks guys."

Bolin gives a toothy smile. "Yeah, we're just sorry, how everything got so hectic."

"Yeah," Mako agrees. "We didn't mean to cause problems. Our feelings for you just got so strong."

I slightly frown, but give a quick smile. "It's fine, I really appreciate you guys."

"Fara! Come here, please!" My dad yells as I rush over to him and Korra.

"Yeah, dad, what's wrong?"

"I just want you to stand here with me and critique Korra."

I stood beside my father as I began to copy his posture. "Unalaq will be waiting for you. You'll need all of your Avatar power to stop him."

"I'm going to close the spirit portals, lock Vaatu in for another ten thousand years, and make Unalaq wish he'd never been born." Korra uses her firebending to blast the head off the practice target.

"As soon as we reach the Southern Water Tribe, we'll blast through the blockade at the main portal." Aunt Kya soon joins us as dad continues talking. "Then we can rendezvous with Tonraq and his troops, crash through the defenses around the portal, and enter the Spirit World."

"Whoa," Aunt Kya gasps. "Since when does my little brother want to crash or blast through anything?"

Dad turns to his sister. "I'll do whatever it takes to save my daughter."

Uncle Bumi approaches us. "We all want to save Jinora, but I think your plan might be a tad over-aggressive, seeing as there are only eight of us and one ship."

I raise my eyebrow at my uncle. "Really? And what do you suggest?"

"An attack like this calls for strategy. I remember when I was surrounded by pirates at the Hurricane Straits. We managed to capture them all, with just a feather, two eggs and a barrel of molasses."

"I don't want to hear any of your crazy stories now!" Dad shouts. "This is serious!"

Uncle Bumi only scoffs in response.

Once the ship stops, we all aboard on Oogi as we head to White Lotus compound in the South Pole.

Oogi flies with everyone on top of him, while Korra enters the compound on Naga. Oogi lands and Korra's mother approaches.

"Mom!" Korra shouts, hugging her mother.

"I'm so happy you're here."

"Where's dad?" Korra asks.

Senna's head falls. "Unalaq wiped out the entire southern resistance, and captured your father."

"I'll get him back."

I pick up Jinora as dad and his siblings follow close behind. "Where is my grandmother?" I ask Senna.

"She's in the healing hut." She replies. "So many injured."

We enter the healing hut, as we open the doors it reveals all the injured men, and the female healers beside them.

Gran Gran shuffles over to me as she touches Jinora. "What happened?"

"Her soul is trapped in the spirit world." Dad answers.

"Oh my goodness," Gran Gran horrifyingly gasps. "How long has she been away?"

"Almost a week. I've tried to keep her energy flowing, but I can feel her slipping away. You're the only one who can help her now, Mom."

Dad takes Jinora from me and gently places her in the healing tub. Gran Gran attempts to heal Jinora.

"How much longer can she survive like this?" Dad nervously ask.

"I don't know." Gran Gran mumbles. "But she's very strong to have lasted this long."

We exited the hut and joined the rest of the crew outside. "I talked to the rebels. They said Unalaq's got the southern portal surrounded. Harmonic Convergence is only a few hours away."

"Then we have to break through the enemy lines ourselves and get to the portal now." Dad says.

"There's no use in talking any more. We know what our mission is."

"A suicide mission." Bolin murmurs. We all turn to Bolin and blankly stare at him.

Uncle Bumi places his hand on his hip. "You know, I was in a similar situation once. My platoon had crawled through the desert with no water for a week! But when we finally located the only oasis for a hundred miles, it was surrounded by angry sandbenders. I realized our only chance to get to the water was to drop in from above. So I fashioned together a catapult, and with the help of a few well-trained hog monkeys ..."

"Enough of your ridiculous lies." Dad shouts. "Can't you see that the fate of the world and Jinora's life depends on what we do here today?!"

"Hold on a minute, I think maybe uncle Bumi is right."

Asami turns to me. "Yeah, we don't have a catapult and hog monkeys, but we have a flying bison and there's a plane on Varrick's ship. Maybe we can attack from above."

"What are you thinking?" Korra asks.

"Mako, Bolin and I can use the plane to create a distraction, and scatter some of the defenses. You, Fara, Tenzin, Bumi and Kya can fly into the spirit portal on Oogi when you see an opening."

Korra nods her head. "Let's get moving."

✧༺♥༻∞༺♥༻✧

"There are spirits everywhere. I don't see an opening." Korra shouts.

"Let's circle around and see if we can find a way in from the other side." Dad suggests as the spirits begin their attack. Oogi dodges the first attack. "Hold on!"

Oogi dives away from the spirit. Some of the spirits have already managed to attach themselves to Oogi as another spirit jumps on, but is quickly airbent away by me. Aunt Kya, begins waterbending the spirits away.

"The spirits are weighting Oogi down! We're losing altitude!"

Uncle Bumi begins kicking a spirit. "Get off of him you sticky, nasty little blob of goo!" Uncle Bumi is tripped by the spirit, but he grabs hold of it before falling. "Woah! If I go, you're coming with me!"

The shadow lets go of Oogi and both uncle Bumi and the shadow begin to fall. "Bumi!" Aunt Kya shouts.

Oogi begins to fall and crash due to the spirits. I slid against the snow as darkness took over me.

I wake up to myself being chained against a hard wood in a tent.

I look around my surroundings to see that everyone has been captured.

Unalaq and his kids walk in. "Congratulations, everyone. You've all got front row seats for the beginning of a new world order."

"You don't know what you're doing, Unalq." Korra groans out. "Freeing Vaatu won't make you powerful, it will only make you a traitor to everything good that's happened over the last ten thousand years."

Unalaq looks down at us. "You think what Avatar Wan did was good? Driving almost all the spirits from this world? The Avatar hasn't brought balance, only chaos. You call yourself the bridge between the two worlds, but there shouldn't be a bridge: we should live together as one."

"Even if Vaatu escapes, I'll put him right back in his prison, just like Wan did."

"It's true that when Wan fused with Raava he tipped the scales in her favor," Unalaq responds. "But this time I'll be here to level the playing field. When Harmonic Convergence comes, I will fuse with Vaatu, and together we will become the new Avatar: a Dark Avatar. Your era is over."

"Think about what you're doing." Tonraq groans. "I know that you've always had a deep connection with the spirits, but you're still a man. You're still my brother, you're Eska and Desna's father. Are you willing to throw your humanity away to become a monster?"

"I'll be no more of a monster than your own daughter." Unalaq snarks. "The only difference is that while she can barely recognize her own spiritual power, I will be in complete alignment with mine. Vaatu and I will be as one. No one will be able to stand against us." Unalaq turns to his kids. "Keep them locked up. After the Harmonic Convergence, I will come for Korra."

"Yes, father." The girl replies. Unalaq and his two Northern Water Tribe guards leave the tent.

"I failed in every way. We've lost Jinora forever." Dad whimpers, as he had Aunt Kya by his side.

I try to make my way towards my dad to comfort him, but the chains wouldn't budge. "There's still a chance. They didn't get Uncle Bumi."

Korra desperately looks at the twins. "Eska, Desna, listen to me. You've got to help us stop Unalaq. I know he's your father, but Vaatu has made him completely crazy."

"We will never turn on our father." Eska dryly says.

"Please," Korra pleads. "If you let me out now, I can still stop him from destroying everything. Once he fuses with Vaatu, no one will be safe. Desna, he won't be your father anymore."

Desna approaches Korra. "You don't know what you're talking about! Our father is the wisest man in the world. If he says what he is doing is right, I believe him."

Suddenly, there was loud ruckus going on outside the tent. Uncle Bumi slides into the tent, knocking over Eska and Desna in the process. "All right, guys. Rescue time."

Eska and Desna get back up and glare at Bumi. Naga and Pabu came bursting into the tent and knock out the surprised twins.

Once everyone was unchained, we stepped outside the tent to see the mess Uncle Bumi had made.

"Bumi, how did you manage to take out this entire encampment on your own?" Dad asks shocked.

"I did it all with my trusty flute and ... ah, never mind, you wouldn't believe it anyway. Let's get moving."

Uncle Bumi marches off followed by us behind him. We made our way into the Spirit Forest.

"You run into the portal, I'll try to hold off anyone who comes after you."

Korra approaches her dad. "No, you're too hurt, you need a healer. Asami, can you take Oogi and my dad back to my mom?" Asami hums and walks towards Oogi.

"This is my fight now."

"Korra," her father breathed out hugging his daughter. "I love you."

"I love you too, dad." Tonraq boards Oogi as he and Asami soar away.

Korra turns to my dad. "Once we're inside, you go find Jinora." She then turns to Mako, Bolin and I. "You three will take care of Unalaq, while I close the portal so Vaatu can't escape."

"Wait a second." Bolin freaks. "Worst case scenario: so we're fighting Unalaq, you close the portals and let's just say something happens to you. Are we going to be trapped in there for eternity?"

"If everything goes as planned, we'll all walk out together after Harmonic Convergence. If not.." Korra pauses, letting out a sigh. "Let's go."

We run inside the portal as we transport to inside the Spirit World with a view of the Tree of Time.

As we enter the Spirit World. Unalaq, who along with the spirits, begins to attack. "Tenzin go find Jinora!"

I quickly leap into action, immediately sending a large air blast at the dark spirits, managing them to get blown away.

Unalaq leaps off the shadow he was on and begins to waterbend a pond of water that he uses to slow his descent by turning it in to ice to slide down. As he lands he begins to waterbend again.

Bolin and Mako run forward and begin bending their respective elements to stop Unalaq as Korra rushes off toward the Southern Portal.

The three of us try our best to stand our ground, but eventually the portal blasted creating The two portal started connecting with each other and started conjuring electricity with it, freeing a dark spirit that emerged from the tree.
