"ji? why are you up so late?" seorin rubbed her eyes upon entering the kitchen and seeing the taller sitting down at the counter
"i couldn't sleep so i thought I'd get myself a glass of milk but i didnt want to be rude and help myself you know?" he replied, feeling a little embarrassed. he rubbed the back of his neck and looked down in his lap.
she just chuckled and opened the fridge to get the boy some milk and for herself she reached for the ice cream in the freezer
"want some ice cream?"
he shook his head and mumbled a small thank you when she handed him the carton.
"so, how're you liking park residence so far?" she asked, tearing apart the wrapper from the icecream as he poured himself a glass
"it feels.. like home," he said after pondering quite a bit
"it's like, a real, healthy, beautiful home and.. you know what never mind I'll tell you this story some other time" he shook his head and seorin noticed his uneasiness
"its fine, sung, you can tell me whenever you feel like its the right time." she smiled at him and ruffled his hair, standing on her tiptoes to do so
as she stood flat on her feet again, she noticed the proximity between her and the taller. her eyes went wide and cheeks flushed immediately.
he stared back at her with the equal amount of nerves going haywire within him. his heart pounding and his mind fuzzy.
without even thinking about it, he leaned a little closer to her and she didn't move.
he moved even closer.
she still didn't move.
but then she felt a sticky substance om her hand which made her look away and down into her hand only to find her icecream had started to melt.
when she looked away, he finally realised what had happened, or well, what was about to happen and he immediately apologized,
"ohmygod rin, I'm so sorry I wasn't thinking. I'm so sorry if I made you uncomfortable or something ohmy-"
she cut him off with a giggle and moved away to get herself a kitchen towel to clean her hands
"its fine, ji, i wouldn't have minded" she said with a wide smile and a wink
then she walked out of the kitchen. leaving jisung there alone with cheeks as red as a rose, heartbeat running marathons and his thoughts all over the place.
