...

"We have to escape"
Bakugo said, holding out his hand.

"Kacchan...
The only one that should escape is you..."

"Deku.
We. Have. To. Escape."
Bakugo repeated.

Midoriya looked away, unable to look his brother in the eyes.

Bakugo sighed, "we will escape...
One day...

We will."

Nightfall descended upon them.
Everyone in the building was sound asleep, except for 1 person.

"...I wish I could just wish myself to escape but I don't want to use Deku like AFO...
Using his quirk already makes him sad enough.

Not to mention what if he doesn't grant the wish...

I need to escape, but Deku doesn't want to.
And I can't force him to escape with me...

So.
I need to escape and get help.
Once I get help, they can storm this place and rescue Deku out of here.

Yeah...

It's perfect...

I'll escape for the both of us.
That way, Deku won't feel like a burden...
This way we'll both be happy...!

Tomorrow I go to the lab again...
I don't want to go to the lab again...

So I'll have to escape tonight.

I have to.
While I'm still small enough to fit through vents..."
Bakugo crawled out of bed.
He glanced at the door, it stood there.

He grabbed the biggest shirt he could find in his closet and tied off the ends to make a makeshift bag.
He didn't have a real bag.

He stuffed it with clothes, he didn't own many things.
He only had clothes and toys.
He filled it and then put 1 toy, his favorite toy.
It was the toy he had wished for, it was his first and only wish he had asked of Midoriya.

After that, he tied off the shirt and wrapped 2 pairs of pants around it.
He threw it on his back and completed the make shift bag.

"...okay...
My stuff is ready...
Now I just escape..."
He felt a bead of sweat roll down his forehead. Everything was ready, he just didn't know if he had the guts to go through with the plan.

He glanced back at his brother who laid around asleep.
"...I'll just leave a note...
A goodbye note."

He walked back over to his desk and grabbed a pen and paper.

"Hey Deku.
By the time you're reading this, I have escaped.
I'm sorry.
I want to take you with me but you kept refusing.
So I decided on the second best option which was to escape and save you later.

Please survive until I can get us help.
Don't let AFO get to you.
... please stay safe.

-
Katsuki Bakugo."

He signed off and left the note on his pillowcase.

He walked over to the door and shakily slid it open.
The halls were quiet and empty, no one could be heard.

He carefully tip-toed down the stairs and found himself in the living room.
It was dark, almost impossible to see.
He had been using his quirk to light up his hands so he could see in the vast darkness.

He traced along the walls until he found a ventilation system.
It was big enough to crawl in.

He quickly removed the vent block and crawled in.
"I'm doing it...
I'm doing it...!
I'm making the escape...!"
His stomach churned with stress as he crawled along the system, he past by many rooms during his attempt to figure out how to get out. But eventually...

He found the escape.
Bakugo crawled out and found himself on the rooftop of an "abandoned" building.
His heart thumped out of his chest as a cold breath of wind hit his face, "I did it...!
And now... I run!

...even if I'm caught, no pain I go through after this point will be worse than what I already went through...!"
He crawled off the roof through a ladder and ran off as fast as he could carry himself.

With the adrenaline pumping through his veins, he was able to get far before collapsing.
He ran through many streets, past many people, through several alleyways. He wanted to make sure he got as far as possible.

After 15 minutes of pure running, he collapsed in an alleyway.
The floor was cold and dirty, he could smell the pudent smell of garbage nearby.
But he was still happy...
Happier than he had ever been.

"I have to keep going...
I can't stop here...
He'll find me...

If I can't run I'll walk, if I can't walk I'll crawl...
And if I can't crawl I'll use my quirk.
I just need to get as far as possible.
I'm too close..."
He thought to himself as he looked up at the sky.
The moon was out along with the stars, it was a clear night sky.
It was the first time he had ever seen it.

His heterochromatic eyes widened in awe, he had never seen something so serenic.
Tears streamed down his face unknowingly as his body calmed down a bit.
"I really escaped...

But without Deku...

He would love to see this...
...and I'll never see mom again. She helps out AFO.
...but it's fine...

As long as I can get help from someone, Deku will be saved."
He thought to himself as he stood up.
He looked around, despite it being so late at night the streets were still bustling.
He started up his walking, still going the opposite direction of the place he used to reside in.

"What if AFO already noticied I'm missing...
What if he's looking for me right now...
I'm not going fast enough...
I need to go faster..."
Panic surged through him as explosions popped out of his hands.

He figured the best way to travel fast would be to use his quirk.

Bakugo flew down the street, flying with his quirk.
He made sure to avoid people, he didn't want to accidentally hurt anyone.
However, because of how loud his explosions were, he gathered the attention of everyone around.

He still kept going, there wasn't anything that could stop him.
He was determined on properly escaping and he knew staying in the same city would easily get him found again.

"I need to running...
I can't stop."
He thought to himself.
"What if he finds me... And makes sure I go through more pa-"
He was cut off when his explosions came to a sudden stop.
He landed hard on his face.
"Ow...!"
He yelped as he quickly went to stand up.
However he found his legs and arms bound...

His heart dropped, "oh no..."
He quickly squirmed and tried to escape but it was no use...

He was caught.

"Kid.
Why are you running out here alone at night?"
A voice asked.

Bakugo slowly turned around, his eyes met the eyes of a man who had been staring him down with glowing red ones.
He had long black hair and obvious beard stubble.

His legs had been bound together with what looked like a scarf.

"Please don't take me back...!"
Bakugo pleaded, he had no idea who the strange man was and for all he knew he could be one of AFO's henchmen.

"Take you back where?"
The man crouched beside him and lifted up his metal goggles.
He got a proper look at Bakugo, it was obvious he was in terror.

"Y-you're going to take me back to AFO...!"
Bakugo cried as he tried to send out explosions to escape. They wouldn't come out.

"AFO...

...kid what's your name...?"

"K-katsuki Bakugo..."

"Bakugo...

Mitsuki bakugo...
A wanted villain...

AFO..."
The man muttered under his breath, too low for Bakugo to actually hear.

"Please don't take me back...!"
Bakugo begged.

"Do you know who I am?"
The man asked.

"...one of AFO's henchmen...?"

"No.
I'm a pro hero. Pro hero eraserhead.
How old are you?"

"...I turn 10 in a couple months..."

"Okay Bakugo.
Look.
Im not taking you to AFO.
I'm taking you to the police station. I need you to trust me, I'm here to help you"
The man said.

The words were almost all foreign to Bakugo, no one had ever said they were going to help him and it was the first time he had ever heard of a 'hero'.
It was a word that simply didn't exist in his vocabulary.

However, overwhelmed by emotion and desperate, bakugo accepted and followed the man to the police station.

"You won't be hurt any longer.
From this point on you don't have to worry about ever seeing that man again"
Eraserhead said as they headed over.

The words were extremely reassuring to Bakugo, he felt a sense of relief wash over his child body. He could almost cry.

When they made it to the police station, bakugo was taken to a nicely decorated room.
The walls were of a calm blue color and there was soft cushion all around.

He sat down at a table on a nice cushioned seat, the table had a warm cup of milk with cookies placed beside him.
The room also had windows, it was something that truly surprised him.

"Okay Bakugo.
This is detective Tsukauchi.
He's just going to ask you some questions. You're not in any trouble, we just want to know what happened. Alright?"
Eraserhead said as he sat down beside him.

Bakugo nodded his head as Tsukauchi sat down from across him.
He had a clipboard in hand and a pen.

"Alright.
I'm Naomasa Tsukauchi. I'm a detective and I'm here to help you, kid.
From this moment on, you don't have to worry about ever going back to that scary place."
Tsukauchi began as he stared at Bakugo with a warm gaze.

It was the first time someone had ever looked at him so nicely.

"First question.
What is your full name?"

"Katsuki Bakugo"

"And Bakugo, what is your mother's name?"

"...mitsuki Bakugo"

"What about your father's name?"

"...AFO"

Tsukauchi and eraserhead exchanged a glance and nodded their heads together.

"Alright...
Do you know what type of person your parents are...?"

"...yes... They're evil..."

"Okay Bakugo...
If you can, could you please describe what they did to you?"

"It's horrible...
Every other day...
Since I was 4...

I'd go to a place called 'the lab' and there'd be this doctor...
Dr. Garaki was his name...

He'd experiment on me to make me stronger.
It hurt.
It hurt a lot..."
Bakugo choked up on his words as tears stung his eyes. It was difficult to talk about what happened without remembering the pain.
"My eyes are supposed to be red."
He paused as he pointed to his left eye.

"But this one is black because of him.
The experiment was the first and the start of all the others.

I wasn't allowed to go outside. I was confined in a room with my brother, it had no windows.
Just a vent and door for air.

I got sick of everything that we had to endure...
So I ran away."
Bakugo said, a solemn tear slid down his face as his hands shook in his lap.

Tsukauchi and eraserhead stared at him with remorse.

"You brought up a brother.
Could you explain who he is?"

"...his name is Izuku Midoriya.
He's a couple months younger than me.

He has it worse...

Because of his quirk, AFO uses him almost everyday."

"And what exactly is his quirk?"

"It allows him to grant wishes.
But he can't grant wishes for himself or even make wishes of his own...

AFO makes him grant bad wishes, if he doesn't grant the wish he's basically tortured until he does...

Everyday he comes back to the room crying in pain.
He doesn't think he deserves forgiveness either. He thinks it's all his fault the things that happened actually happened..."

"...what kind of wishes was he forced to grant?"

"...death wishes...
He was forced to kill people..."

Tsukauchi fell silent as he stared at Bakugo pitifully.
"...he's only 9...
And so is his brother... Yet they've had to endure so much..."

"May I ask why your brother isn't with you...?"
