Qin Ruhai, who had been out of town for work for a little while, received the invitation when he returned.
“Hah?”
Siyi didn’t even inform him of that via WeChat for the sake of giving him a pleasant surprise.
And both of his sister gave him a we-thought-you-already-knew look.
Qin Ruhai stared at the invitation so intensely that he could burn a hole in it.
“He’s really getting married?”
He remembered the conferences that he had attended in the last few days and daily communication with his professor and Siyi about the details of Huo Sishen’s condition.
“That dang Siyi! He didn’t even speak a word about it!”
“Number One, Number Three... Neither one of you speak a word about it in our group chat.”
The “Melon Eating Group” hadn’t talked about the wedding at all as of late.
Qin Ruhai, the number two melon eater, placed his hand over his forehead begrudgingly.
He had been busy on his business trip and had yet to have time to eat melon nor did he have time ask any questions.
He didn’t expect that this had happened and nobody told him about it.
These were his real sisters he was talking about!
Big Sister Qin chuckled and Little Sister Qin covered up her mouth.
“You are not the only one who’s busy. We have work too.”
“Besides, we also have to find time to try out the bridesmaids’ gowns, alright? When will we have time to chat in our group?”
Eating melon life was obviously better then eating melon in WeChat!
“Exactly. We had to spend time with the bride on the weekends going to spas, getting our nails done, etc. We women have a lot to take care of. We didn’t have time to chat.”
Qin Ruhai’s eyes widened. “Bridesmaids? Dang, who’s the best man then?!”
The dang Devil Huo didn’t ask him to be his groomsman?!
They have known each other for so many years and he had been getting up early and going to bed late trying to cure him. Even if he hadn’t succeeded, he certainly put a lot of effort into it. How dare him not ask him to be his groomsman!!
Big and little Qin sisters exchanged a look and said, “We don’t want you to be the groomsman. Bridesmaids and groomsmen are supposed to pair up. Why would we ask you? We want handsome men!”
Qin Ruhai, “......”
He felt that he had been shot.
So the melon-eating group had been quiet lately because the Qin sisters had been invited to be the bridesmaids.
The Qin’s sisters quietly formed a bridesmaid group with cold Huo Sishen the day after Qin Ruhai had left for his trip.
Huo Sishen would let them know what he needed in the group.
And the two sisters would accompany Gu Shishi to take care of what was necessary for a bride.
They were even there on the day their wedding photos were taken.
“You were in the photos? Shameless!”
Qin Ruhai was stunned.
He had been so betrayed.
He almost vomited blood when he saw the pictures of the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
The groomsmen were obviously two little fresh meats.
“Who are they?”
Little Sister Qin blushed and said, “Big Brother, haven’t you watched the variety show that has been very popular lately? This is the most popular one on the show.”
Big Sister Qin was relatively calm. “An idol who had returned from Korea. I think he’s good looking. You have a problem with that?”
Qin Ruhai was speechless.

On the other end, Gu Shishi was looking at her two main missions.
Diamond ring, okay. She ended up picking a square one on a platinum setting with small diamonds.
Huo Sishen had them custom made another huge diamond ring for her with her initials carved in the setting.
She picked a plain looking pair for their everyday wedding band.
Mostly because it would be convenient to paint with.
And she would not need to worry about her hand being chopped off when she leave the house... a giant rock was too ostentatious.
They went to have their wedding photos taken the weekend after she had tried on the wedding gowns while they were on a roll.
It took two to three full days and Gu Shishi thought she was going to collapse and die.
The photographer was a director of sort for some movies and were very picky about the composition of the photos.
Gu Shishi, also an expert in 2-dimensional presentation, wasn’t even able to contribute anything. That ought to speak for his ability.
A set of red traditional garb, a set of western style all white wedding gown, a light-colored silk gauze evening dress embellished with velvet flowers... She changed into a total of seven to eight sets of outfits and locations varied from inside of a mansion all the way onto a cruise boat.
A photographer even suggested to go take some pictures in Greece but Gu Shishi felt uncomfortable to take any more time off.
She was so tired that she couldn’t even talk any more so they finally gave up on that idea.
Huo Sishen compromised on the second best. They would have a filming crew at their wedding at Maldives and also a crew to follow them on their honeymoon in Greece.
Every night, she would be going to either skincare, trying on makeup, or meet up with hosts and various other preparations for the wedding.
The only reason she didn’t collapse was because she had the Qin’s sisters by her side.
But the outcome was very rewarding.
[Main Mission 2: Wedding Trilogy] was already 90% completed. All that was left was the actual wedding itself.
As for [Main Mission 3]... Gu Shishi sighed with her head resting on her palm.
She was only able to kiss the boss on his cheek once.
On the day they had their photos taken, she suggested a hugging pose but the system rejected it afterward, stating that it was posed.
There was barely any progress on this one!
After 7 days, the progress was reset and she had to start all over again!
“That’s cheating!”
Recalling her efforts on the day their photos were taken, Gu Shishi felt that all of her feelings had been wasted.
“Well... guess we will have to do it for real then...”
She instantly buried her head underneath the blanket.
The day of the wedding was only 2 weeks away.
And the reward for this third mission was the one that she wanted the most – no double chin halo!
She wasn’t fat in the past, neither was this body.
She wasn’t sure whether it was because she always had her head lowered when she drew that she had always had a little bit of a double chin when she lowered her head.
Even when they were having their photos taken, the photographer had shouted it out a few times to have her held her head high.
To avoid her double chins showing!
She wouldn’t care as much normally but for her wedding photos and videos, it would be awful to have double chins in them!
She might only have one wedding her entire life!
She really wanted to acquire this halo before the wedding!
This body was very petite with the face just about the size of a palm. The more petite a body was, the more obvious the double chin even just a little bit of it.
It would not be attractive whether in the photos or seen by others’ naked eyes.
“Only less than 15 days left!”
Gu Shishi felt very troubled.
Three kisses and three hugs. Even if they were 95% completed but the progress would be reset after 7 days and she would have to start all over again.
She couldn’t let that happen!
Even if she did one a day, there would still be no guarantee that nothing unforeseeable could happen.
The safest way was to have them all done at the same time.
Sometimes, the best way was to go all the way in one shot.
Especially when it came to emotional interactions. She couldn’t possibly kiss or hug him once a day then run off immediately every time. That seemed very irresponsible.
Things would just get so awkward.
Might as well go all the way and no turning back no matter what!
Gu Shishi smacked down on her pillow.
“That’s right! All the way! Let’s go!”
That being said... was she supposed to go knock on his door now and say something like, dear, I wanted to kiss and hug you all of a sudden?
Gu Shishi gulped.
The system was forcing her to be shameless!!!
She rolled over and play the different scenarios in her head over and over again.
What should be her first act, her next act, etc. She needed to have them all figured out first.
Then... she went over to the kitchen and brought with her a big bowl of lamb soup.
She would at least need an excuse to knock on his door.
Half way there, there was thunder and lightning outside of the window.
Gu Shishi stopped in her track. That was when she recalled that today was going to be another thunderstorm day.
She blinked immediately.
Huo Sishen was taking care of workplans from all management in his study.
He paid no attention to the thunderstorm outside of his window.
Until he heard a weak knocking—
“Big Huohuo, are you there?”
Came Gu Shishi’s fragile and delicate voice.
The pen in Huo Sishen’s hand paused immediately.
She had been calling him with that nickname since the day that she had chosen it.
She still referred to him as Mr. Huo in front of others and that usually drew certain suggestive looks from others.
She started calling him big Huohuo stealthily when it was just the two of them.
After hesitating for half a second, he closed up his laptop.
He went and opened up the door.
He was taken aback as soon as the door was opened.
Gu Shishi was in a Sailor Moon sleepwear, her smooth and delicate calves exposed. On her feet was a pair of pink fuzzy slippers, making her toes looked pink and delicate. Even her toe nails were radiating a tender glow.
Her black hair cascaded down behind her like a waterfall.
It was already fall.
And she was still running around bare feet in a skirt.
Huo Sishen frowned slightly.
Even though the temperature indoor was controlled but one must still be careful not to get sick when the seasons changed.
Had she gone inside the garden dressed like this, she would probably get ill.
“Didn’t Aunty Lin prepare long sleeves and pants for you?”
He didn’t sound very happy.
Aunty Lin has not been doing a very good job.
As soon as he finished talking and before the girl had responded to him, he felt a body, soft, warm and delicate like that of a little dove, had flown inside of his chest.
Huo Sishen’s cold face... was at loss all of a sudden.
His deep, black eyes were shocked as though they hadn’t comprehended what had just happened.
When he came to, the girl already had her arms around his waist.
Her hands, soft like they were boneless, were placed on the back of his waist and they were tugging slightly at his robe.
Her body seemed to be trembling slightly.
“What happened?”
Even Huo Sishen’s voice sounded very forced.
Gu Shishi blinked and gritted her teeth. She buried her flushed cheeks in his chest and refused to let him see her look right now no matter what.
“I, I...”
Gu Shishi’s voice quivered.
It wasn’t easy.
At this moment in time, she had a lot of respect for Gu Wushuang.
She was so delicate, she could cry whenever, whine whenever, and always delicate like a little white flower in the wind. Pretending to be like that all the time required a lot of skills!
It wasn’t like she had any options. It was now or never!
Forced by the system, she must go all the way!
So what if she gave her future husband a hug to get rid of her double chin??
Having convinced herself, she took a deep breath. Unable to squeeze out some tears, she made her shoulders quiver again.
“I... am afraid of the thunders.”

The girl’s voice, quivering like that of an oriole, destroyed his rationality like it was a weapon.
After pausing for a little bit, he raised his hand and patted the girl on her back clumsily.
Gu Shishi’s shoulders shuddered again.
His placed his large hands on her shoulders reflexively.
As though he was wooing a child, he stroked her a couple times, before he patted her some more.
Gu Shishi seemed to be shivering even more now...
Huo Sishen’s dark eyes dimmed a little and he reached his arm around her shoulder to hold her.
“I’m here.
“Don’t be afraid.”
His magnetic voice was deeper and more tender than it had ever been.
He was like a sturdy monolith that was unmoved by any sort of wind or rain and would even protect the little grass that grew slowly from under it.
Gu Shishi let out a sigh of relief immediately.
There was goosebumps on the back of her neck, warm and itchy.
Her heart was pounding madly in her chest.
Oh boy, with the boss being so tender, even she couldn’t resist him!
The dang system!
This was doing as much damage to her as it did to him!
Shivering, Gu Shishi cussed the system out.
Huo Sishen did not noticed anything abnormal about her and genuinely believed that she was frightened.
He was worried about her all over again.
For a city that was near the coast, the thunders wouldn’t be stopping anytime soon.
He couldn’t help but frowned.
“We can have kitchen prepare you a bowl of soup.”
Having something warm could help calm her.
She always loved eating and drinking.
She would sit at the dinner table for an hour if she could and still didn’t want to leave.
He hasn’t even taken a step yet and the “ornament” dangling from him moved.
“Oh....” Gu Shishi responded to him softly.
A soft and fragrant breath hit him on his chest.
