Gu Wushuang’s breathing hastened when she recalled what happened the time before.
She quickly formed her hands into fists stealthily and calmed herself down.
However, just one look at Gu Shishi, and her eyes were burnt! Gu Shishi was dressed even more eye-catching than her today!
Her skin condition was too good and only complimented too well by her white dress.
She looked refreshing and natural like a cool breeze in mid-summer.
“Oh, you are in red today,” said Gu Shishi with a smile.
That made Gu Wushuang want to grit her teeth!
Everybody has their own style.
She had always gone with the light and soft theme and was known to be the soft sister in their circle.
But, Gu Shishi had obviously hijacked her style today!
She was even softer than her and more so at making others want to be protective of her!
Gu Shishi had even forced her to dress in red, the color that she had always thought of as tacky and old!
Gu Wushuang had originally thought that her outfit was quite good; even her girlfriends said she looked lively earlier.
But now, she felt a congestion inside her chest.
“Eh? Your breathing seems to be a bit fast. Are you alright?”
Gu Shishi abruptly voiced her concern.
Gu Wushuang’s face was about to turn green from anger.
Her fingernails were about to dig into her palms.
“I’m fine, Shishi. Of course I am fine~ The weather is so nice today. We should go inside of the pool today later on~”
“Oh, sure.”
Gu Shishi gave her a classy smile.
“But you need to be careful~ You should avoid any strenuous exercise with your heart issues. Perhaps you shouldn’t go swimming?”
Even Gu Wushuang’s pace was staggered.
This contemptible Gu Shishi!
She couldn’t have been more wrong before. There was so much subtext in her words; Gu Shishi had been playing dumb this entire time!
“Oh, hey! Our real Gu’s Miss is here.”
Luo Pingting walked over with a few other girls with a glass of champagne in hand.
Gu Shishi took a look at them.
Very well. Neither the Li’s third miss who had been following her around lately nor MeowMeow Chen Kexin were among the group.
Guess the system’s data was correct.
They had both broken out of this small circle, at least temporarily.
“Long time no see,” said Gu Shishi as she smiled at them. “I see that you all missed me a lot.”
All the women’s lips twitched.
On the little grass area in front of the mansion, all the men and women drinking champagne and chatting and laughing around the barbeque grill also stopped and looked over at Gu Shishi.
There was astonishment in all of their eyes, along with some other complicated emotions.
Most of the younger generations in the wealthy circle were pretty attractive individuals.
As their fathers were all strong and powerful men in the society, they wouldn’t choose unattractive spouses. As such, their genetics would be modified generations after generations.
From that perspective, when Gu Shishi stood next to Gu Wushuang, she did seem to be the better looking one between the two. Compared to Gu Wushuang, who had health issues, she was more like one of them.
“Shishi, you are here. Come with me to go change into your swimsuit.”
Gu Wushuang didn’t want to listen to Gu Shishi’s nonsense anymore.
More importantly, she could tell that Gu Shishi’s delicate look today had rattled others’ resentment toward her.
That was not something that she wanted to see!
She held Gu Shishi’s hands in a friendly way and said to her, “Come with me to the second floor changing room. This is your first time here and you are not familiar with this place. Just follow me around today.”
“Aiya, Wushang, what is the rush?”
She had just finished talking when Luo Pingting interrupted them with a smile.
“Now that Shishi is here, she can do a demonstration for me. I’ve heard that she has been cooking for Brother Huo every day and is more professional than a chef. She has been ‘taking good care’ of Brother Huo.”
Gu Shishi raised her brows.
She couldn’t help but look over at Third Young Mistress Li who was standing in a corner.
Li Yiru visibly shrank a little.
“So, Shishi, what are your best dishes? I heard that you will be here so I didn’t even have a chef coming today. We are counting on you for lunch.”
Luo Pingting smiled and even turned to look at Luo Zheng, who was sipping his wine nearby.
“Big Brother, didn’t you say you want to have lamb chop this morning? Thank you in advance then, Shishi.”
Luo Zheng grinned an evil grin and raised his glass at Gu Shishi from the other side of the swimming pool.
That fool... did he read one too many domineering CEO novels?
Gu Shishi’s lips twitched.
In comparison, her Tsundere Huo at home was much more straightforward and cuter than this bunch over here. She suddenly felt appreciative that the system had picked a good male lead for her.
Thinking about that, with her eyes narrowed, she calmly shook off Luo Pingting’s arm that was grabbing onto her and said, “I’m sorry. I only make love meals at home.”
Gu Shishi curled her lips and smiled.
“I only cook for my future husband and my most beloved man.”
Under the sun, she reached out her delicately slender fingers.
“Other times, I need to take good care of my hand. I mean, if they become coarse or injured, I’m not sure anyone can... make that up to me.”
Her meaning was: Yes, I can cook, but they were neither worthy of nor could afford to try her cooking.
Everybody changed colors as soon as she finished talking.
Luo Pingting, the one who brought it up, gritted her teeth.
Gu Shishi didn’t take the bait?
Of course, it was part of their plan to insult her by having her cooking at the banquet.
No Young Miss would take on the role of a chef and busy herself inside of the kitchen when the others were enjoying themselves.
She thought that even if Gu Shishi was to turn her down, she’d at least be courteous about it and the purpose of insulting her would still be accomplished. She hadn’t expected that Gu Shishi would just go up against her like that.
“Oh yeah, Miss Luo. Wushuang mentioned to me before that you are very good at playing the piano? I wonder if I’d have the honor to hear you play today? I love having background music when I swim in the past. You know, some excitement is always necessary for one to persist in exercising.”
Luo Pingting’s face turned black all of a sudden!
This Gu Shishi was thorny and sharp with her words!
Gu Shishi had struck back and asked her to play the accompaniment while she swam. Did Gu Shishi not know that she is the host today?!
If she was to snap at her in front of everyone, that was like admitting that asking Gu Shishi to cook was her purposefully giving her a bad time.
Her picking on a guest as the host would sound very bad when words were spread by the servers.
This Gu Shishi was not an easy target!
Gu Wushuang, standing next to her, turned pale all of a sudden. “Shishi, when have I mentioned to you that...”
“Oh? It wasn’t you? That’s strange. It’s not like I have a lot of friends otherwise.”
Gu Shishi smiled. Of course she had just made that up.
Luo Pingting was an arrogant young miss from a prestigious family. It was only natural that she was well versed in a couple of musical instruments simply for the purpose of showing off. And piano was the most common one.
“Alrighty. I’m going to go change now. I can’t wait~”
Gu Shishi walked upstairs chuckling.
Gu Wushuang wanted to go upstairs with her, but she also wanted to clarify the misunderstanding with Luo Pingting. Now she was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
“It’s fine.” Luo Pingting took a deep breath. “I’ll play. Not like she could appreciate it anyway.”

After Gu Shishi had gotten up to the second floor, she saw Chen Kexin squatting inside of the dressing room.
The young girl had a blanket wrapped around her in distress.
She was pacing back and forth in front of the mirror, looking troubled.
Gu Shishi raised her brows and finally found out what it was when she walked closer to her.
