Plus, she has good eyesight and didn’t wear contact lenses. She could only be envious of the actresses with beautiful eyes.
But now, all she needed to do was to exchange for this reward and she, too, could have the bright eye effect.
Without having to tolerate foreign objects in her eyes or the feeling of dryness or tiredness!
Perfect~
Gu Shishi has a good eye for artistic beauty. She was, naturally, very excited that she would be able to make herself prettier.
Plus, all of the halos from the system provided effects that were noticeable to the naked eyes. The effects were even more prominent in the eyes of an artist!
[The reward will be available when hours accumulated in the marketplace exceeds 500. (50/500).]
Gu Shishi, who valued her life very much, finally crushed that egg in her hand with a loud “CRACK”.
That’s terrible! The expenditure was mandatory by the system!
500 hours! That was the equivalent of 20 days of life!
[You need to think about it this way. That little bit of life will buy you permanent beauty effects.]
[Host, you know how many women would kill for an opportunity like that? Per survey studies, 99.9% of women are willing to trade a month’s worth of life to enhance on their looks!]
Gu Shishi rolled her eyes. “Well... let me live till a woman’s average age first! Then we’ll talk!”
[Host. Keep working at it. You can conceivably live till tens and thousands of years.]
“......”
Gu Shishi lifted up the cleaver with her left hand and slammed it down on top of the cutting board!
Tens of thousands of years... The boss wouldn’t even live that long! How was he going to be able to send her gifts after he dies?
The dang system was just taking her for a fool!
[He will have sons, and his sons will have sons... so on and so forth. It’s not entirely impossible.]
[Plus, have you calculated the daily interest on $10 billion USD?]
Gu Shishi’s mouth dropped open.
The boss’s sons? Who’s their mother?
Her...?
And, this interest.... Psst....
She immediately put down her cleaver and opened up the calculator app.
Ten billion dollars USD. Even at 1% interest, she will have $10 million USD in interest a year?
One thousand yuan would allow her to live another day...
$10 million USD... that’s 10,000 days...
Parvenue riches were scary!
She lowered her head and quietly put away her cellphone and quietly finished pan drying the eggs and placed them inside of a sandwich.
She added some lettuce and bacon before she applied a thick layer of mayo, sliced it down the middle and put toothpicks through them.
Biting down on her lips, she then shamelessly drew a big heart with the sauce....
Love boss. Must be healthy!

Huo Sishen was woken up by his biological clock. He worried that he woke up too early and that breakfast was not ready yet.
So he planned on going for a jog first then spent a couple of hours going through some of the documents. He would give her till 9 AM.
Yet, he caught sight of the girl before 7 AM.
He raised his brows in surprise. She had never showed up in the kitchen before 7:15 AM before.
Did she get up early for a change for him?
Huo Sishen stood at the entrance from afar and felt that he was washed over by a feeling of warmth. Sweat from his morning job dripped from his bangs, and he didn’t even bother to wipe them away.
How long has it been...
Nobody had tried to do anything nice for him behind that glass kitchen door. There had only been hired chefs making the same meals over and over again.
Yet, right now, she was standing in the kitchen in her pink rabbit fur slippers wearing the black apron that was one size too large for her with a very loose knot tied behind her.
The apron that was a little too long fell all the way to her knees and her very pale and slender calves were exposed...
They were like white fat with no foreign materials inside of it. He couldn’t help but squinted as he looked at her. Black looked very good on her.
Her skin was like a fancy piece of white jade, clear and translucent. It was best stored in black, velvet cloth.
She was too pale, so much that he wanted to wrap her entire body up in black...
Huo Sishen’s lips were shut tight and even his entire chin was tightened. It took a long time before he moved his cold eyes away from her face.
As he was watching her, he noticed that while she was preparing breakfast, she frowned a little, then smiled a little. After she fished out her cellphone, she mumbled something... and finally pulled up the calculator. It looked like she had punched a series of numbers inside of it...
Huo Sishen raised his brows.
Whatever was she doing?
Judging from what he was seeing, he was to have a sandwich for breakfast today.
Was it that complicated? Was she calculating his calories with the calculator?
Huo Sishen squinted, and his thin lips stuck out a little.
Okay, not too bad.
Even if the taste wasn’t all that, but at least her attitude was worthy of praise.
He turned around and walked upstairs to take a shower. He changed and walked back downstairs for his breakfast after he was all cleaned.
Gu Shishi was no longer in the kitchen.
He saw the smiley face drawn on the plate with mustard, and his lips twitched a little.
His cellphone that was sitting on the table vibrated immediately.
A message popped up.
[Mr. Huo, I have left your breakfast on the table, okay~ I poured you some orange juice. Have a good day at work today!]
[Please rate my service after the beep. Please give me a 10 rating if you are very pleased with my service.]
[BEEP~~~]
Huo Sishen, his hand on his forehead, let out a loud chuckle all the way from his chest.
Siyi, who was walking from the kitchen to report to him, “...... ? ! !”
Was the boss laughing? Out loud?!

It was only 7 AM when Gu Shishi finished preparing breakfast.
She yawned and had planned to go back to the bedroom for some more sleep.
As she walked past the little garden, she happened to run into Butler Lin who was directing the workers to bring inside gifts for mid-autumn festival.
What Gu Shishi cared about the most right now were... gifts!
She was wide awake all of a sudden.
She walked over to Butler Lin and asked weakly while blushing what the gifts were... and most importantly, would she receive any of them.
As much as Butler Lin had been an elite butler for many years, he was stumped by that question.
“Miss Gu, these are gifts prepared for the employees at the mansion as part of their employee benefit.”
He looked perturbed. He made his purchase based on the number of employees at the mansion and did have a couple extras. But he never heard of the mistress of the house wanting to be included in employee benefits before!
“Eh? You mean I don’t get one?”
Gu Shishi got Butler Lin’s meaning right away. She was stunned all of a sudden.
He looked down at the items inside of the box, and they looked to be very fanciful gift boxes.
She really would like to have one~
“Are... are these mooncakes?”
Butler Lin’s lips twitched.
What was going on? Did Miss Gu have any self-awareness as the madam of a house?
“Yes, these are mooncake gift boxes. There’s also a 500 yuan gift card inside of each of them.”
He regretted immediately as soon as he was done saying that.
Gu Shishi had looked up at him with a very hurtful look on her! There was immense hurt in her eyes.
Five hundred yuan? That’s half a day of life for her. Why didn’t she get any?
Whyyyyy? Why nooooot?
“Butler Lin, have you forgotten? I am cooking three meals a day for the young master of the house... and, before that, I weeded the garden and almost had an allergic reaction... I cleaned the living room... and I even have a set of my own maid outfit!”
Gu Shishi gave him the I-am-definitely-part-of-the-crew assertive look.
“I am part of the family, Butler Lin!
“Now why would you do this to me? Are you sure I don’t get one? There is a locker with my name on it in the cleaning supply room, don’t you remember?”
Butler Lin felt that he was about to go bald. He didn’t really understand what was going through the young master’s mind before. But now he was fairly certain that Miss Gu’s status was way more than that of a female servant to the young master.
Alright, it was just a gift that they were talking about...
“Alright, Miss Gu, you can have a set if you like.”He had on him a constipated look. “But, if the young master ever asked about it. Can you please let him know that this was not my original intention?”
If the young master found out that he gave Miss Gu a set of gifts meant for the servants at home, he would definitely be labelled as someone who had been disrespectful of the future madam.
Gu Shishi’s eyes beamed. “Yes, of course. It was me who shamelessly asked you for one after I found out that everybody else is going to get one.”
Butler Lin, “......”
This future madam was quite a character.
“Okay, then give me a minute. Let me go grab one that didn’t have a name printed on it.”
“Eh? There were names on them?”
“Yes, we have cards printed.”
Gu Shishi took a look. Sure enough, there were printed cards with the writing “Happy Mid-Autumn Festival” written on them dangling outside of the gift boxes.
They looked so cold. The printed names and season’s greetings were very mechanical and void of a human’s touch.
It was, for sure, the boss’s style.
But... she recalled how Mr. Chef was afraid to even look into the boss’s eyes when he talked to him the other day.
“Butler Lin, are you in a hurry to hand these out?” Gu Shishi cocked her head and looked at her watch.
Alarmed, Butler Lin asked, “I plan to hand them out today. What is it, Miss Gu?”
Gu Shishi smiled and pointed at the cards. “I can draw something interesting on the cards that go out. It won’t take too long. Maybe 1 – 2 minutes each. Will that be okay?”
“Huh?”
***
It was not Mid-Autumn Festival yet, but there were always some who’d take off early.
Which was why Butler Lin wanted to give out the gifts early in time. It would also double as a stimulation for those at the mansion to work hard on their final shift before the holidays.
He didn’t think that Miss Gu would stop him here.
It was difficult for Butler Lin, in his forties, to get why she wanted to draw these little cards. But, he accepted her suggestion nonetheless.
Shortly, as he stood next to Gu Shishi watching her drawing, Butler Lin’s look began to change.
From being baffled at first, to being skeptical, to finally being so interested to a point that he didn’t even walk to walk away, Butler Lin stood and watched for over half an hour long.
All the way until Gu Shishi stopped with her pen, looked up at him and asked dubiously, “Butler Lin, I seem to recall there was a maid with the surname Fan? She was around 30 or so in age?”
She had finished adding a little bit of something to all of the cards.
But, as she was drawing, she suddenly remembered the maid who had tried twice to set her up.
During the closet and the milk incidents. She still remembered what she looked like. She thought her name was Fan Qing?
Gu Shishi tapped her forehead with the pen she had in her hand.
She hasn’t made any moves as of late. Gu Shishi had planned on pretending that she hadn’t noticed anything to wait for her next move and hopefully find out who was behind it all.
But... she didn’t even see anyone with the surname Fan in the stack of cards.
Thinking about it some more, something seemed to be off.
“Are you talking about Fan Qing?” Butler Lin has an odd look on him.
Gu Shishi nodded immediately. “Yes, yes, yes. Her!”
“She quit,” said Butler Lin concisely.
Gu Shishi let out a surprise sound. “She quit?”
The one who caused her trouble had left before she succeeded? Did that mean the person behind her had given up on setting her up?
Butler Lin hesitated for a little then looked to his left and right.
Realizing that there was nobody near them, he lowered his voice and said, “She was fired by the young master. She had done something that she shouldn’t have... after you were sick last time, she was taken to the police station by the securities at our mansion.”
“I heard from Siyi that Young Master planned to press charges and she might get jail time.”
Gu Shishi’s mouth dropped open. “Say what? That one time when I was sick from acute GI inflammation? The time when I had the iced milk? I didn’t even know about this...”
Butler Lin nodded and his tone was mild. “It’s such a minor incident that there was no reason to bother you with it. Young Master got upset so the security took care of it.”
