I sat staring out the window of the coffee shop. Rain trickled down the window making the glass fog up from the warmth inside. I sipped slowly on my coffee thinking about life. Everyday I would think back to that moment. I could never shake it from my mind.
Was my mind keeping it for a reason?
Today marked 2 years. What for I hear you asking? Well let me just say 2 years since I left the only family I had and the boy who I truly loved. I couldn't let anyone know why tho. They would have thought I was mad for leaving that opportunity I had. I worked my ass off to get that job to then just leave over a guy. I laughed at myself quietly shaking my head. I heard the door to the shop open and low and behold the big man himself Kevin Lehman walked in.
"Echo?!" He smiled at me. I got up hugging him.
"Hey Kevin, long time no see" I said to him. He still called me by my nick name the boys gave to me.
"I haven't got long but I have a proposal for you" he said confidently.
I nodded...
"As I'm sure you know warped is coming up in a few weeks and I was hoping you would come work at it again?"
My eyes became wide, my brain screamed yes but I couldn't say it.
"Kevin... I..."
I ran my hand through my hair looking at the table. He sighed.
"I know you want to Ech, why do you keep denying it? We all miss you, even him. And before you say anything I know what he did, I know how much it hurt you. But you hurt the rest of us by just leaving. We need you back, tour isn't the same without our Echo." He smiled slightly
And truth was I did deny it, I had been for 2 years. I sighed.
"What did you think I could have done Kevin? He screwed me over, after all the lies he still did, I lost both of my best friends that day. I shouldn't have just left, but after Luna said she was pregnant with his baby I lost it." I choked out
"She lost the baby..." He said looking at me. I could see the pain in his eyes.
"What?!" I looked up shocked.
"She only carried for 2 months, she miscarried really soon. I thought you knew?" His smile faded.
"He was devastated but he knew where his heart lied. It was and always will be with you, he just didn't know that, nor did he think any of us could see it. Anyway I should get going. Here's my number. Let me know when you have made your decision." He scribbled a number on a napkin and walked out the shop.
I grabbed my coffee and left. I didn't know what to do. I could feel my breathe hitch in my throat, another panic attack I thought. I needed to get home soon....
