You're 15 year old Y/N Hotchner, your dad, Aaron, is gone often. Your mother, Haley, is almost always home. "Y/N, you're too skinny, eat more." Your mom said one day, the next day, "Y/N you're eating too much you're going to gain weight." This had been going on for months. Wearing "tight" clothes makes you uncomfortable. Wearing "revealing" clothes makes you uncomfortable. So, when your mom bought you a bathing suit that you felt showed too much cleavage and didn't want to wear it, there was an argument, "Y/N! You wanted that bathing suit!" "I didn't know it was cut so low..." you responded quietly, "You're 15! Grow up!" A couple months before that, "I bought you these dresses that fit your shape. You're skinny, they'll look amazing on you!" She encouraged, "I don't want them.." "But they're cute." You we're too nervous to tell her that they made you uncomfortable. So. When you were forced to wear it, you covered your stomach with your arms. She bought you a shirt, "Is it cropped?" , was the first thing you said, "So what?" "I don't like cropped shirts.." *cue wearing an oversized hoodie over clothes* "Dress nicer Y/N. You can't wear that all day everyday." Little does she know.. you do. "No, go away." "That won't be happening" he stood outside your door for 5 minutes, you looked under your door and could see his shadow which meant he could see yours too. "Y/N Hotchner, I can see your shadow. Unlock this door." You unlocked it sitting on your bed, "What's with all this.. rage?" "Mom wants me to wear a dress." You stated, "So wear the dress." "You don't get it, the dress is form-fitting." "And what's wrong with that?" He asked, "I don't have a flat stomach. You haven't noticed that anytime mom makes me wear a form fitting dress or a crop top I cover my stomach?" "Your body is perfect the way it is." "Not according to mom." Said the frustrated teen. "What do you mean?"
"It's always," now quoting Haley, "Y/N you don't eat enough, you'll be too skinny. Y/N you eat too much, you'll be fat. Lose weight. Gain weight." Your father was shocked, "And you're always asking me if I'm okay, all I can ever say is "I'm Fine." Your dad hugged you, "Y/N, I had no idea." "Yeah, because it always happens when you're working." You tried to guilt trip, "I'll tell your mom to stop buying you clothes like that. And to not comment on your body or eating habits. Please, don't be scared to tell me things like that. And, I'll try to work less."
Imagine having parents that don't comment on your body... my mom skinny shames me and fat shames me at the same time. My dad says I don't eat enough. My oldest sister comments whenever I eat more than one serving of food. My grandparents ask me if I've eaten every 5 seconds. My grandma's like "I don't know how you look so good for not eating" like.. ma'am..? Is that a complement? But yeah LMAO
