'𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘮𝘢𝘴'
THE SLIGHT CRISP IN THE AIR HAD ONLY GOTTEN WORSE AS CHRISTMAS WAS QUICKLY MAKING ITS WAY TOWARDS HOGWARTS.
the land was now covered in a thick and welcoming blanket of snow, each little tree branch now adorned with snow. and it didn't seem like it would be whisking away anytime soon, as buckets of snow would fall each day, just adding new layers of snow to the cold ground.
you quite like the cold, you like how it leaves the tip of your nose red and you get to snuggle up all cosy. and the hufflepuff common room was very homely and warm, a crackling fire always going.
you also love the snow, you would always play in it with your siblings ; snowball fights, snow angels, snow castles, etc.
you were currently in your room alongside hannah and susan, packing your things for christmas.
you were going back home for christmas, so you had to pack up all your clothes.
rolling up your shirts, skirts and dresses and putting them neatly in your trunk, you smile in content.
putting some final things in, you grin, "i'm done! i win!"
the other two groan.
"dammit! i had one thing left" hannah huffs.
susan smiles sheepishly, "i still have like half of my stuff"
you laugh, making your bed and heaving your trunk off of it.
you look over to the two girls, "i'm going to go so i can say goodbye to hermione, ron, and harry. see you guys after break!"
you hurry over and hug the two girls tightly, them almost suffocating from your tight hug.
you scoop obanai up from your bed, putting him comfortably on your shoulder.
you wave happily at the two of them before hurrying out of your room with your trunk dragging behind you.
you had your hogwarts robes on like all the others who were leaving, your scarf wrapped warmly around your neck.
exiting your common room with goodbyes to a few people, a smile stays glued on your face as you stroll down the hall.
you look into your breast pocket as duck starts to wriggle.
"shh, duck! we'll be outside soon!" you whisper scold.
you 'oof' as you bump into a chest.
you stumble back slightly, your eyes squeezing shut as you're about to fall backwards, but a warm hand holds your back and holds you up.
you slowly open your eyes.
green eyes meet with grey ones.
a very handsome boy was standing above you, holding you up. his face was chiseled and gorgeous golden blond hair sit on top of his head.
you feel your cheeks instantly light on fire as you stand up straight, accidentally bumping heads with the boy.
you both hold your heads, obanai rolls his eyes from your shoulder, he had clung onto your shoulder as to not fall.
"yaaah! i'm sorrryyyy!!!" you squeal in embarrassment, holding your face in your hands.
the boy chuckles, rubbing his head slightly.
"it's no problem. you alright?"
you slowly peek out of your hands and nod slightly,
kyaaa! he's so handsome~!!
he smiles, "you're a hufflepuff too, huh? are you a first-year?"
your eyes direct over to his hufflepuff scarf and you nod.
"well, i'm cedric diggory. and you are?"
"ah, i'm [name] kanroji.."
he smiles, "well, i'll see you around, kanroji"
you both wave as he walks away, turning around last minute.
"i like your hair, by the way!"
your face lights on fire again, "th-thank you!" you squeak, obanai glares at him from your shoulder, which he doesn't seem to notice.
cedric chuckles to himself as he turns the corner.
you slump over in defeat,
just totally embarrassed myself in front of a handsome boy! wahh!
calming down your burning face by fanning it slightly, you stand upright again.
you look down into your breast pocket, duck gives you an unimpressed look.
you huff, "what?"
obanai meows out a groan.
shaking your head softly, you grab hold of your trunk again and head towards the great hall.
you beam as you see hermione also headed their.
"hermione!" you wave at her, running over.
she smiles, "you're headed home, too?"
you nod cheerily, "yup~!"
you both smile, heading into the hall where you saw both boys in their regular clothing, playing a game of wizards chess, a game nearly identical to regular chess, but more advanced.
you watch as a piece stands up and picks up the chair they were just sitting on, and smashing the knight to pieces with it.
you gasp softly, blinking owlishly as you both stand behind the boys.
"that's totally barbaric" hermione says.
"that's wizard's chess" rons miles, "i see you've both packed" he eyesyour trunks.
"i see you haven't" she retorts, looking back at him.
"change of plans. my parents decided to go to romania to visit my brother charlie"
you nod softly.
"he's studying dragons there." he adds on.
your lips part widely, "woahh!!"
"good, you can help harry, then. he's going to go and look in the library for information on nicholas flamel"
"we've looked a hundred times!" ron complains.
hermione leans over harry, "not in the restricted section. happy christmas" she grabs her trunk in one hand and your hand in the other, walking off and away from the boys.
you smile slightly, "i hope they can find some stuff on him!"
hermione nods, "yes, that would be very helpful"
you both head off to the train, dropping off your luggage after changing into some warm clothes and boarding the train.
you were wearing a fuzzy top and pants along with a jacket overtop.
you both find and empty compartment, taking a seat inside.
you both chat for a while before you both pull out books.
you had a few romance books and some on magical creatures, and hermiones were on anything that had to do with learning.
the train trip was long back to kings cross, but you were well fed with sweets from the snack cart. obanai and duck both slept the whole time, luckily.
you and hermione both stretch as you exit the train, onto kings cross station.
quickly getting handed your trunks, you both discreetly slip through the border.
"are your parents picking you up from the station?" hermione asks with a smile.
you nod, "yup! and my siblings"
hermione nods, "how many siblings do you have?"
"five"
she stops in her tracks, thinking for a bit before nodding.
"what is it with people having so many siblings nowadays?"
you shrug, "i dunno. are you parents picking you up?"
hermione nods, "yeah. what do your parents do?"
you grin widely, "ooh! my dad is a therapist and my mum is a makeup artist!"
hermione nods in interest, "that's cool! my parents are both dentists!"
you grin, "that's cool!"
you beam as you catch sight of your parents and your siblings waiting in anticipation.
you run over to them, hermione running over to what you guess to be her parents, too.
"mama! papa!" you grin broadly, they both smile, engulfing you in a hug.
your siblings quickly jump on, some on your back, some one your legs.
"big sister! we missed you!" [sister 2] cries.
you smile warmly, "i missed you all, too!"
after a few more hugs were passed around, you and hermione both rejoined.
"i'll see you after christmas, okay? i hope you like my present!" you wink with a smile.
she grins, "you better like mine!"
you parents looked a bit shocked, "oh, mrs. and mr. granger?"
you both turn to them, "eh?"
your father laughs, "wow, how great your new friend is our neighbour!"
you and hermione both blink in shock,
eh?!?! neighbour!?
"they're our neighbours?!" hermione asks her parents in shock, they nod.
"wha-! how did we never know?" you ask, they all shrug.
you and hermione exchange a look.
