Friendship

I loved him more than promise
Keeping it in
The dreams that slowly started
To burn like photographs
And loving the words in my head.
Keeping me guessing
Before I drift off to go to bed
Loving me more than I could breathe
And catching me in my dreams before I go to sleep and then it all sinks in life a feeling
And makes me wonder how close to my heart
I will feel much more than what I could take inside.
Looking into my heart
Like it is a face
And crying my tears
As they continue
Down into my face.
But keeping it all
Like it was more than just
Catching up on getting
My beauty sleep but singing me
Songs that are on repeat on my phone
And make me feel nostalgic with the lyrics
That is being sung inside of my ears.
Giving me butterflies
In my heart and life
Even though we are supposed to be
Just friends
I sometimes wish we were
More than just best friends
And brought the love of us from inside to out.
