That night after Sophie fell asleep I got Joe's book out from under the bed. I looked at the cover in the lamplight. The black rabbit seemed different somehow. I could have sworn it had been facing towards the book's spine, but now it was facing the other way. I shivered, and quickly opened the book so I wouldn't be able to see the rabbit.

Sure enough there was a new chapter there.
