Jill's Pov~

"Maxine, we're here," I spoke while shaking her limp body a few times, earning a few grunts and moans. "Can I just sleep in the car or something?" Maxine groggily questioned, setting her head back onto the car window and dozing off once again.

I looked back towards Danny, shaking my head and giving him THE signal. He slowly unbuckled himself, quietly making his way near sister's ear before ruffling her hair and yelling, "MAXI PAD WAKE UP, WAKE UP, WAKE UP, WAKE UP!!!"

Maxine's Pov~

"OH MY FUCKING GOD," I shot up, my right knee hitting the glove department. "Oh my fucking goddd, ow ow ow." I quickly unbuckled myself and got out of the car, rubbing my knee. I looked over into the car, seeing ma and Danny high fiving each other. Scoffing, I directed my attention towards our two story house. It honestly seemed quite old. I heard my brother let out a laugh, so I turned towards the car to be met with him sticking his tongue out at me and making weird face.

"You're so dead tonight, Danny boy! Just wait, I'll have you crying bloody murder," I spat out, still rubbing my leg. His eyes widened as he said something, but I couldn't hear him. I heard some whispers and laughs coming from behind me in the street, so I slowly turned around to be faced with two boys. They both seemed to look around my age. One of them had fluffy, short, light brown hair and the other one had long, dark brown hair with a bandana wrapped around it.

"You gotta be fucking kidding me," I muttered as my ma and Danny got out of the car, Danny making his way behind me and eyeing the two boys. "Hey boys!" My mom waved. "Hey miss!" the one with the bandana shouted back.

I ignored their stares and made my way to the trunk, my mom following behind me. She unlocked the trunk and I immediately picked up one of my suitcases. As soon as I did that, my mom walked behind me, touching my hair?

"Ma?" I questioned as she hummed in response,"Whatcha doing?"

"I'm fixing your hair babes! Danny messed it up while you were asleep and I didn't expect kids your age to be out here," she turned me around, smiling and grabbing the suitcase from my hand. "Mom, I got it," I whisper yelled to her.

"Mhm, I know," she smiled before walking next to me, revealing the two boys once again. They were making their way up our driveway. The one with shorter hair seemed to be a little shy, considering he was following behind the other boy with his head down.

"Hey um, do you guys need any help?" the one with longer hair questioned as a small, polite smile made it's way across his lips. "Oh no, we go-" I was abruptly cut off by my mother's words.

"We would honestly love some help, if it doesn't bother y'all," she smiled, slightly nudging me. "Yeahh, totally.." I offered a tight lipped smile before turning back around and grabbing a box. I went to walk towards the front door before my mother grabbed my arm, stopping me.

"Baby, don't be rude. Let's introduce ourselves! I'm Jill Welbourne and these are my two kids, Maxine and Danny." She grabbed Danny's hand, encouraging him to introduce himself.

"Hello," he smiled shyly, slightly going behind mama. The two boys offered him a comforting smile, the shorter haired one reaching his hand out to shake Dan's.

"I'm Finney and this is Robin," he smiled towards Danny once more as he shook his hand. Robin held his hand out, also shaking Danny's hand.

"Hey little man," he smiled, they both looked over towards me, awkwardly putting their hands out to shake mine. I stared at both of them before slowly shaking one another's. "Hey," I smiled.

Finney's eyebrows slightly went up as a small, somewhat cute smile formed on his face as I touched his hand. "I'm Finney- well, I'm guessing you already know that from us introducing ourselves earlier but um, yeah," he spoke, his voice slowly turning into a whisper as he realized he was starting to rant. I went to let go of his hand but his stayed placed in mine before I cleared my throat.

"Oh sorry," he replied. Taking my hint, he quickly let go of my hand. I held my hand out once more to shake Robin's.

"Hey," he smiled, quickly shaking my hand before both of us let go. We both stared at each other for what felt like forever until my mother spoke up, breaking us out of the "trance" we were in.

"Well, I'm gonna go unlock the doors for y'all. Maxine, baby, your room is upstairs to the right," she smiled awkwardly, rubbing my shoulder.

She quickly grabbed Danny's hand, dragging him with her. I heard Danny plea to stay out with us, but my mom usher a quick "sh" before unlocking the door and walking in.

"Sooo," I started, "you guys really don't have to help, we don't have much in here." "No no no, we want to," Finney replied before grabbing a box labeled "Maxine's room". "Alrighty then," I smiled, before grabbing a box and handing it to Robin, and then grabbing one for myself.

We all awkwardly made our way inside. Robin made his way to the kitchen and handed the brown, unneatly taped box to my mother, earning a "thank you so much darling" from her as he walked back towards Finney and I.

We made our way upstairs towards my room. My room was already furnished, along with the rest of the house so I had only brought my clothes, some posters, and some of my personal belongings.

"Your mom's real nice," Robin spoke, placing the box onto one of the nightstands in my room. "Yeah, she is," Finney added. "Yeah, sometimes a bit too nice," I replied, setting my box onto my bed and grabbing the suitcase my mom had brought up for me.

I settled it right next to my closet, just so I could quickly put everything away once done. It was silent for a while and really fucking awkward, so I decided to strike up some conversation.

"Y'know, we could've been kidnappers or like, mass murderers on the run," I turned around towards them, making my way back to my bed and taking a seat next to the box. They both looked at each other, then looked towards me. "No offense, but I highly doubt that. Y'all seem real nice," Robin replied.

"Anyone can seem nice from first glance," I looked down at my sheet less bed before looking back up at both of them, a small smirk making it's way onto my face. "Yeah well Maxi Pad," Finney laughed at Robin's words, "I think you're just trying to scare us into not helping you."

"Oh my god, you guy's heard my brother?" I questioned. I could feel my face heating up, I was genuinely speechless and embarrassed. "Well, yeah. That's like, the main reason we offered to help. We thought it was funny," Finney replied.

"Well, who knows? Maybe Maxi Pad is my alias. Maybe I use my victims blood and splatter it onto pads before I stick them onto their corpse's foreheads," I smiled before standing up and walking out of the room. They quickly followed after.

"Jesus no, that actually sounds so fucking weird," Robin laughed. "I mean, I wouldn't mind getting murdered by the infamous "Maxi Pad". I heard she's quite beautiful," he looked at me, sending me a sly smile. "I can't tell if that was lame or cute," I giggled as a walked through the front door, the boys following behind me.

"Definitely lame," Finney responded, earning a playful nudge from Robin. "Oh shut up, like you could do any better. I bet you'd stutter endlessly and freeze up if you ever flirted with a girl, or if a girl flirted with you!"

"You wanna bet?" Finney questioned before making his way next to me and grabbing another box. "So u-um," he spoke, his face turning red. I looked over to him, holding back a laugh. "You're pretty cute when your flustered, Finney boy," I smiled before ruffling his hair and started my way to the front door.

"U-um um um," Robin mocked him playfully before grabbing another box. "Shut up," Finney rolled his eyes jokingly before walking into the house with me. "Hey, Maxine?"

"What's up?" I replied, continuing my way towards Danny's room with a box of his toys. "I just wanted to say that you're pretty, like really pretty." I dropped Danny's toys off into his room, putting the box into his closet.

"Thanks babes," I smiled, as red quickly made its way onto my cheeks. I walked out of the room seeing Robin carefully lay another box of my personal belongings onto my bed before making his way out of my room. "Hey Finney, it's almost sundown," Robin spoke from behind me.

"Oh shit, I gotta go. I'll see you later Robin, night Maxine" he muttered before quickly making his way downstairs. "Have a good night Mrs. Welbourne! Bye Danny, I hope to see you again!" he yelled. "Oh, bye dear! and please, call me Miss Welbourne or just Jill!" My mom shouted at the frantic teen as he made his way out of our front door, accidentally slamming it shut.

Robin and I made our way to the kitchen, "He was in quite a rush, huh?" My mom questioned. "Yeah, he has a curfew," Robin replied. "Oh, I hope we didn't get him in trouble or anything," my mom spoke.

"Don't worry Miss Welbourne, he lives about 10 minutes away from here, he should have enough time to get home," he smiled before walking off. I walked out with him, grabbing a few of the last boxes before making our way inside.

"Do you have a curfew?" I questioned Robin as we made our way to one of the bathrooms. "Oh, no. My mom works pretty much the entire day and night, and my father isn't with us," he shrugged, "But that's a story for another time."

"Oh, I'm sorry," I replied. "Well, don't be. Things happen for a reason." He walked out of the house and towards the trunk once more. I ran after him, grabbing one more box. "So um, how's the school over here?" I asked.

"It's cool I guess, there's some shitty ass teachers though. Especially the math teachers, they're not really good at explaining things, but Finney, he's amazing at math. If you have any questions concerning that topic, I highly suggest asking him for sure, he's the only reason I got good grades in that subject last school year," he spoke, handing the box over to my mom, giving her a small smile. "There's som-" he was cut off by my mom.

"Robin, would you like to stay for dinner? To thank you for helping? We just ordered pizza!"

"Oh, I would love to Miss Welbourne!" He thanked her before she sent us off to go hang out, to get to know each other.

"Wait so, what were you saying before my ma interrupted?" I questioned as he sat onto one of the chairs in my room as I opened one of the boxes, taking out my sheet, blanket, and pillows.

"There are a lot of shitheads at our school, so I would personally say watch out," he answered, watching as I fixed my bed up. I sat onto it, patting a spot next to me, hinting for him to sit with me. "You okay if I sit with you?" he asked, staring at my hand, slowly standing up. "Duh, of course! Sit."

"And um, if anyone fucks with you, let me know," he added looking over at me. "Don't worry baby, I can handle myself," I smirked, looking over at him and making eye contact. "Oh?' he playfully questioned. "Yeah, no. It makes sense, I'm guessing Maxi Pad can fight, huh?"

"I guess you could say that, a little self protection never hurt anyone, or well, whatever. You know what I mean," I laughed, causing him to slightly smile at me. "Just be careful, at school and out of school, y'know?"

"What do you mean "out of school?" I questioned, raising my eyebrows, my once large smile slowly turning into the ghost of one, along with his.

"We've been having some people from the county go missing, sadly. Some cabrón has been taking some of the kids in this town. They've been all boys, so I'm guessing you aren't necessarily a target, but it's good to be aware of your surroundings," he shrugged, looking down onto my bed, messing with his hands.

"Don't want a new friend of mine and Finney's to go missing days after we first met her," he looked up, meeting my eyes. "Oh, so we're friends?" I questioned, tauntingly raising my brows.

"Of course, you've been offered a once in a lifetime deal, no charge. Most people have to pay millions to be friends with us!" he chuckled.

"Oh yeah? Well, I'm honored," I smiled at him, not breaking eye contact. Both of our smiles slowly softened as silence arose, that is until my mom called out to us.

"YOU GUYS! PIZZA'S HERE, HOPE YOU LIKE EXTRA PEPPERONI ROBIN!"
