It is now a few days on from Morgan suddenly shapeshifting to look like a young version of Lena, and in that time the CEO has continued to try and figure out how it happened. The best guess that Lena can come up with right now, is that when she kissed Morgan, after drawing some of her blood, a bit of her own DNA must have mixed with some of Morgan's blood, and just caused the 4-year-old to shapeshift. Or at the very least, Lena believes that that is why Morgan specifically shapeshifted into her. Although Lena thinks that transmutation might be a better term to describe Morgan's power, as if she was shapeshifting, she would not change her DNA, which is what happened when Morgan looked like a 4-year-old version of herself. Either way, Lena is pretty confident that her DNA had something to do with Morgan's change, while she still thinks that Morgan's powers are triggered by the young girl's emotions.
Even though Lena and Kara saw a new development in Morgan's powers, they both decided that for now, while Lena does more research, they wouldn't run any more tests on Morgan. The two mothers just don't want Morgan to think that they see her as some sort of science experiment or anything. Plus, neither Kara or Lena wanted to worry Morgan by continuing to run tests on her. So, they have decided that until Lena actually has made progress on how Morgan's powers are triggered, they'll let things be for now.
One of the other events that has happened over the last few days, is that Lena did go and talk to her mom about moving her into The Tower, and out of the DEO. At first, Elizabeth was unsure, simply because she has begun to feel secure at the DEO, and believes she is putting Lena and her friends and family in less danger staying there. However, Lena was in no mood to take no as an answer from her mother, so after about an hour, she convinced Elizabeth to agree to move into The Tower soon. The only thing Lena and the rest of the superfriends have to do now, is prepare a suitable room for Elizabeth to live in, which thankfully will take a lot less work, simply because of the Martian nature of the building.
***************
Presently, it is a Saturday afternoon, and today Kara and Lena have decided to take both of their daughters out to a nice park just outside of National City, with very few people around. The parents both thought this would give Alura and Morgan a chance to run around in nature, be happy, and get some energy out without being exposed to the general public who might take interest in them, simply because of who Lena and Kara are.
Once Kara, Lena, Alura and Morgan arrive at the park, the first thing the family do is to find a nice spot where they can lay down a nice picnic blanket, with them planning to have another nice lovely family picnic together. After some brief debate, mostly between Lena and Kara, the family choose a nice spot underneath a tree, which offers them a little shade from the sun, on the warm near-spring March day. Although, the shade is mostly for Lena's sake, because Kara, Alura and Morgan all lack Lena's fair skin, which easily burns in the sun if she sits out there too long.
After the family chose their picnic spot, Kara, Alura and Morgan all decide to go run around and play together, which includes jumping in a small little river nearby, and getting all wet. Lena, for her part, is just happy to sit under the tree, on the picnic blanket, and read a book that she has brought with her. Lena decided that reading a book would be a nice change to all the other stuff she usually does in her spare time. This is because recently most of Lena's spare time has been filled up with either, trying to figure out more about Morgan's powers, helping to create a suitable room in The Tower for her mom, or doing some L-Corp work which she is behind on. However, Lena is thankful that she doesn't have to fill her spare time with any more wedding planning though, because all of that is done. The only thing that she and Kara have to do now, is decide what they are wearing. Of course, seeing as it is only 3 months until the wedding, many people might freak out about not having a wedding dress, or outfit, so close to the wedding, but not Lena. Lena is a billionaire after all, so she knows that she can afford, literally, to get a wedding dress, or appropriate suit, within very short notice. Lena and Kara's time has just been so focused on Morgan recently, that they haven't even broached the subject of what they will wear for their wedding.
Right now, Kara, Lena, Morgan and Alura have been at the park for about an hour and a half, and in all that time Alura, Morgan and Kara have been running around playing, laughing and giggling, while Lena enjoys her books. However, Lena is soon interrupted by Morgan approaching her, and taking a seat on the blanket right next to Lena, resting her head on Lena's side.
"Hello, my darling?" Lena smiles, and places a kiss on the top of Morgan's head, "Are you having fun?"
"Yeah." Morgan smiles back, "But I'm a bit tired now."
"Oh, well, you can rest here with me for a bit then." Lena says, "We are probably going to take a break and have our lunch in a minute anyway."
"Yes, okay." Morgan replies, "I'm hungry."
"We'll give Kara and Alura 10 more minutes before we call them over to have our lunch together, okay?" Lena says.
"Yes, okay." Morgan nods.
Morgan and Lena then fall silent, as the CEO once more returns to her book, all the while Morgan rests her head on her side, just happily to slightly snuggle with her.
"Lena?" Morgan eventually says, a few minutes later.
"Yes, darling?" Lena replies, deciding to close her book now, and put it to the side.
"Alura told me...... that you and Kara are..... getting married soon...." Morgan says.
"Yes, we are. In a few months time." Lena replies.
Morgan nods her head.
"Am..... I going to be there? At your wedding?" Morgan asks.
"Of course you are." Lena quickly replies, "You are our daughter, of course we want you at our wedding. In fact, if you want, you could be involved in the actual ceremony, just like Alura."
"What would I be doing?" Morgan asks, curiously.
"Well, Alura is going to be sort of a 'flower girl'." Lena explains, "And the role of a flower girl is to walk in front of the bride, or brides, and scatter flower petals on the ground. You are Alura could do that together, if you want?"
"Yes, okay." Morgan nods happily.
"Good." Lena smiles, kissing Morgan on the top of the head again, "Then after that, during the ceremony, you can either take a seat next to Eliza, or someone, or you can stand next to either Kara or I, as the two of us get married."
"Can I stand next to you?" Morgan asks, quickly.
Lena chuckles, amused by how quickly Morgan asked her that.
"We'll have to discuss it with Alura first. I don't want to promise you that you can stand next to me if Alura also wants to stand next to me. One of you does have to stand next to Kara." Morgan says.
"I'll stand next to Kara if Alura wants to stand next to you." Morgan replies.
"That is nice of you to offer, Morgan. But let's decide all that later, okay, my darling?" Lena says, looking Morgan in her beautiful purple eyes, and placing a kiss on one of her cheeks this time.
"Okay." Morgan smiles, happily, her smile getting wider after Lena kisses her.
Lena then turns her gaze to locate where Kara and Alura are, about to call them over so they can have their lunch.
"Lena?" Morgan says.
"Yes?" Lena replies, looking at her youngest daughter again.
"I love you." Morgan says.
As soon as Lena hears those three words from Morgan she wants to burst into tears, because she is so happy that Morgan has finally said those words to her, even though she has been pretty sure that Morgan has felt them for a while now. However, the feeling of actually hearing those words said out loud, is amazing. The only feeling that is comparable is when Alura said 'I love you' to her for the first time.
"I love you too, my darling. So very much." Lena says, trying, and failing, to stop herself from crying, as she takes Morgan in for a hug.
Lena continues to hug Morgan tightly for a few moments, placing multiple kisses at the top of her head. Eventually, though, the two part, and Morgan looks up at Lena.
"Why are you crying?" Morgan asks, confused.
"These are happy tears, darling. Don't worry." Lena smiles, as she wipes the tears from her face.
"Oh." Morgan says.
Lena and Morgan are then interrupted by Kara and Alura joining them.
"Is everything okay here?" Kara asks, noticing Lena's been crying.
"Yeah." Lena nods, happily, unable to contain her massive smile.
Kara and Alura then each take a seat on the picnic blanket, and once they do, Morgan moves away from Lena, and over towards Kara.
"Kara?" Morgan says.
"Yeah, baby?" Kara replies, with a smile.
"I love you." Morgan says.
Kara's eyes widen at Morgan saying that, certainly not expecting the 4-year-old to say that right now.
"I love you too." Kara smiles, and pulls Morgan in for a big hug, kissing her on the top of the head just like Lena did.
Kara and Morgan continue to hug for about a minute, with Lena and Alura watching on with happy smiles on their faces. Eventually though, Morgan and Kara do part, and Morgan then moves away from Kara, and over towards Alura.
"Alura I...." Morgan begins.
"I love you!" Alura interrupts Morgan, with a big smile on her face.
Morgan breaks out into a matching smile, and the two sisters quickly take one another in for a big hug. In fact, the hug is so big, that Alura ends up on top of Morgan, as she hugs her tightly. They continue like that for a few moments, before they separate too, everyone with a big smile on their face now.
"I'm happy you all found me, and made me part of our family." Morgan says, cutely, looking at both Kara and Lena.
Lena and Kara's hearts both swell at Morgan using the term 'our family', each of them so very happy about the things Morgan is saying.
"We are happy you are part of our family too!" Alura answers, "Right, mommy, momma?"
"Yes." Lena nods, with more tears in her eyes.
"One million precent." Kara says, with a big happy smile.
After this, the group all have a lovely lunch together, eating some nice sandwiches that Lena made for them earlier, as well as some cooked breaded chicken strips, with some juice for both Alura and Morgan too.
Once the family finished eating, Morgan and Alura quickly get up and begin running around, with Kara and Lena still staying seated on the blanket, both promising to join their daughters in their fun in a little while.
"Well.... that was.... incredible." Kara says, commenting on Morgan telling them that she loves them.
"Yeah." Lena nods, with a happy smile.
"You good?" Kara asks.
"So good." Lena replies.
Kara and Lena then sit there in happy silence for a while, sitting right next to one another, bodies pressed together. However, Lena soon has a thought about a topic Morgan mentioned earlier.
"Darling?" Lena says.
"Hmm?" Kara replies.
"Morgan was just asking me about our wedding before you guys came over, and she reminded me that we both still need to decide what we are going to wear to our wedding." Lena says.
"I thought we already decided this." Kara says.
Lena chuckles.
"No. We decided what we are going to wear to our reception, after the wedding, not the wedding itself." Lena explains.
"Right.... So many outfits......" Kara says.
Lena chuckles, and places a kiss on one of Kara's cheeks.
"Well.... what do you want to wear? A wedding dress, or a suit?" Kara asks.
"I'm actually not sure." Lena admits, "I have to say.... usually I would go straight for a lovely suit.... But.... you only get to wear a wedding dress once.... so... it kind of has an appeal."
"Yeah, I get it." Kara nods, "On Krypton we didn't have all this marriage ceremony stuff. So, we certainly didn't have wedding dresses. But.... I kind of like the idea of it too."
Lena nods her head.
"You know that we can both wear a wedding dress, if we want? It's our wedding after all." Lena says.
"Yeah." Kara smiles, "I guess..... we should both start looking for wedding dresses.... Then... if one takes our fancy.... we can wear it.... but if not.... we can wear a suit or something."
Lena nods her head again, in agreement.
"But we will have to make sure that we have at least one of the same people going with both of us. The last thing we want is to accidentally both get the exact same wedding dress." Lena says.
Kara chuckles.
"That would be kinda awkward." Kara smiles, "But, hey, seeing as your mom is going to have a bit more freedom soon, maybe she can go with you? Along with like Sam and whoever else you want to go with you, of course."
"Yeah.... that does seem like a nice idea." Lena smiles back, but not a full smile.
"I feel there is a 'but' coming." Kara says, picking up on Lena's tone.
"But.... as ridiculous as it may sound..... I wish Lillian could be there.... even though I know she would absolutely hate every moment of it." Lena says.
Kara chuckles.
"That's understandable Lee." Kara says, "I wish that my mom could be with me picking out my dress too."
"Oh, shit. I didn't even think about that." Lena says, now growing a guilty look on her face, "Here I am moaning because I have two moms, both whom are alive, with one just not being able to come wedding dress shopping with me, while your birth mom is.... gone.... I'm sorry.... I should have been more considerate of you."
"Lee, it's fine. I'm not offended at all." Kara says, "I didn't mention my mom to compare our situations or anything. I just said it because I wish she could be there, just like I know you wish Lillian could be there. There is no need for you to feel guilty over anything whatsoever."
"Okay. If you say so." Lena smiles.
"I do." Kara nods.
Lena chuckles.
"Practicing for our wedding?" Lena smirks.
Kara now chuckles.
"No. I never need to practice." Kara says, "As I know it doesn't matter what I say on our wedding. I love you, and want to be your wife, and spend the rest of our lives together. That's all that matters."
Lena smiles widely at Kara saying that.
"That sounds like a pretty good thing to say in our vows to me." Lena replies, "Just... make sure you actually say the right name."
Kara laughs, loudly, at Lena saying that.
"Of course I will. This isn't going to be an episode of Friends!" Kara exclaims.
Lena chuckles.
"I really can't believe how ridiculous that whole show was." Lena says.
"What do you mean?" Kara pouts.
"I mean.... after you made me watch all 10 seasons, it's pretty obvious that Rachel and Ross are both toxic for each other, and constantly ruin each other's relationships because they want to be together." Lena says.
"Yes, that's because they are perfectly toxic FOR one another!" Kara exclaims.
Lena chuckles.
"I guess so." Lena replies.
"But you have to admit. The moment in the final episode, where Rachel comes back and says 'I didn't get on the plane', was amazing!" Kara says.
"Maybe. Although, the show ended in the early 2000s, not many shows back then had unhappy endings, like a lot of shows today." Lena says.
"I know exactly what show you are referring to!" Kara smiles.
"I'm sure you do." Lena says, rolling her eyes, "another sitcom that you made me sit through all 9 seasons of."
"But How I Met Your Mother is amazing!" Kara says, "I mean.... it's not as good as Friends or anything.... But.... Barney and Robin's love story is great!"
"Until the ending, where the mother dies, Barney and Robin divorce, after the show focuses on their wedding for the whole final season, and has been focusing on why Ted and Robin shouldn't be together for the last season and a half, only for it to all be relieved Ted has been telling this story to his kids in the future just so he can convince them to go hook up with Robin." Lena says.
"Hmmm... Yeah.... I have to admit.... I kind of like to forget the ending." Kara says, "But.... oh! I still have to show you the alternate ending! Bob Saget does the voice over, and it's amazing, and it basically suggests that Barney and Robin get back together at Ted and Tracy's wedding, and Tracy doesn't die!"
"Hmmm.... That does sound better. Not sure what the writers were thinking when they wrote the other ending." Lena says.
Kara opens her mouth to respond, but the two parents are interrupted by Morgan coming up to them.
"Kara, Lena, come play with us!" Morgan says, with a big smile, basically bouncing up and down.
"Sure. I'll be right there!" Kara smiles.
Morgan then goes running off towards Alura, who is once more playing in the stream/river nearby.
"You going to come with, or read your book?" Kara asks Lena, with a smile.
"Mhmmm.... I think I'll stay reading my book. It looks like the kids want to play in the stream.... I don't really want to get wet." Lena says.
Kara chuckles.
"Fair enough." Kara says, placing a kiss on one of Lena's cheeks, "I'll go entertain the little munchkins."
Kara gets up from the picnic blanket and heads over to Alura and Morgan. Lena then simply watches Kara join the two girls before grabbing her book again, and deciding to continue reading.
About a minute later, Lena decides to put her book to the side, and go and join Alura, Morgan and Kara running around and playing. This is an unusual thing for Lena to do, but in this moment, she is just so happy, she feels she just wants to spend more time with her family, and her two daughters, who she loves so very much. In fact, Lena loves Alura and Morgan so much that she feels her heart might burst.
********************
It is now a week later, and all of the superfriends are meeting at The Tower because Elizabeth's room is now completely finished, with J'onn, Winn, Lena and Alex all having worked very hard on it, just to make sure that Lena's mom has everything she needs, and feels safe and secure at The Tower.
Right now, Lena, Kara, Sam, Alex, Winn, Ruby, Morgan and Alura are all waiting at the elevator entrance just inside The Tower, as just like Lena asked of J'onn, the DEO director made sure to get Elizabeth out of the DEO without any of the other DEO agents knowing. So, to do this, J'onn simply went into Elizabeth's room, and then proceeded to use his phasing ability to fly Elizabeth through a few walls, and then up into the sky, without anyone seeing them.
The elevator door soon opens, revealing both J'onn and Elizabeth. Lena is the first to step forward, and take her mom in for a big hug. Lena is so happy that things are moving in the right direction for her mom now, all on her recovery to get back to some form of normalcy. Lena knows this is just one step, but she hopes that once they have defeated Leviathan, once and for all, Elizabeth will be able to live a freer life, without having to hide herself away or anything.
"I'm so glad you're here." Lena says, as she hugs her birth mother.
"I'm happy to be here too." Elizabeth replies, "Although, I have to admit, phasing was not how I expected it to feel."
Lena chuckles.
"How did you expect it to feel?" Lena asks.
"I'm not sure.... a bit like when I had my shadow powers, I guess. But it wasn't like that at all." Elizabeth admits.
"Well, I'm just glad you're here." Lena says again.
Elizabeth gives Lena a little happy nod.
Kara then steps forward, greeting Elizabeth with a smile.
"I'm happy to see you are okay." Kara says to her future mother-in-law, "I'd love to show you around The Tower, but I think it's best we all show you to your room, which Alex, Winn, J'onn and Lena have been tirelessly working on."
"Oh, I hope you all didn't go to too much trouble on my account." Elizabeth says.
"It was no trouble." Winn answers.
"Yeah." Alex agrees, "You are part of our family now. There's nothing none of us wouldn't do for our family."
Elizabeth smiles widely at Alex saying that.
"Well, I will very much cherish this privilege." Elizabeth replies.
"Come on, mom." Lena says, grabbing onto one of her mom's arms, "Let me show you to your room, and then Kara can give you a tour of the rest of The Tower."
"Sure." Elizabeth smiles, "Lead the way, sweetheart."
Lena then leads her mom through The Tower, and eventually inside the room that they have prepared for her. The room itself is a large bedroom, with a big window that gives a great view of the city. Then there is also a decent sized bed, and a shelve full of books which Lena has chosen specially for her mom, along with a desk.
"So... this bedroom doesn't have a bathroom attached to it. There's a bathroom elsewhere in The Tower, that has a shower, that you can use." Lena explains, "Adding an en-suite to this room was just a massive issue we couldn't handle."
"Darling, that's okay." Elizabeth smiles, "This room looks wonderful."
"I'm glad you like it." Lena smiles, "But you should know, the room does have some cameras, so I can check on you in case of an emergency or something. But only I, Kara and Alex (as she's the doctor) have access to the camera feed. Then I have also made a little device for you, which you can just keep in a pocket or something, and it will monitor your heart rate, and send me and Alex an alert if something is off."
"That's very thoughtful of you, darling." Elizabeth smiles, "It seems you've thought of everything."
"Well, I didn't do it alone. I had a lot of help from Alex, Winn and J'onn." Lena explains.
"I'll be sure to thank them too." Elizabeth says.
"Uhhh.... yeah." Lena replies, "But uhmmm..... if there is anything else you feel you might need... or want.... as part of your room.... just let me know.... and I'm sure I can have it arranged."
"Lena." Elizabeth says, reaching out a hand and placing it on one of Lena's shoulders, "You can stop worrying. Compared to what I had in the DEO, I'm living like royalty here. I'm just happy to have a bit more space, and a nice view of the outside world, even if I can't go outside just yet."
"Uhmmm.... about that." Lena says.
"Yeah?" Elizabeth replies.
"Uhhmmmmm.... Kara and I's wedding is coming up soon.... in a couple of months.... and I have yet to pick out a wedding dress..... So.... I was wondering if you'd like to be one of the people that comes with me when I do choose one.... or I might just choose a nice white suit or something." Lena says, awkwardly.
"Of course I'd love to go with you." Elizabeth smiles, "But... do you think it's a good idea for me to be seen out in public?"
"Well, I actually have a solution to that. I thought that uhmmm... you could use one of my image inducers, just while we are out shopping for my wedding dress, so you can disguise yourself?" Lena suggests.
"Oh, that sounds like a brilliant idea. Of course you have thought of everything." Elizabeth smiles.
"Uhmmm... yeah..." Lena replies, a bit awkwardly, and timidly, not use to praise like this from her mom, "Uhmmm anyway.... how about I hand you over to Kara now... and she can take you on a tour of the rest of The Tower?"
"Sure." Elizabeth smiles.
Lena does just this, and Kara shows Elizabeth around The Tower, with the former shadow woman being very happy with her new home and space.
