AUTHOR'S NOTE. part two of the previous diluc one-shot !! this was inspired by a comic dub i found on youtube (i can't find the link rn lol) although i'm not the biggest fan of diluc, i did have a lot of fun writing this, so i hope you guys enjoy <3
BEFORE YOU KNEW IT, two months had passed. It was now the day of the wedding. Everything had been set up in the Cathedral, and now all that was left to do was to get ready.
You stood facing the mirror as your lovely bridesmaids fussed around you, helping you with your hair and makeup. As you stared at your reflection, you couldn't help but be amazed at how different you looked.
Your (h/c) locks were pulled up into a stylish side bun, held in place with flower hair pins. A single strand of hair was loose, framing your face in a neat curl. Pearl eyeshadow dusted your lids, a sparkly dark pink gloss painted your lush lips. Around your neck was a strand of pearls, with a matching bracelet and pearl earrings.
And the dress. Oh, the dress.
It was a strapless gown of white silk imported from Liyue, embroidered with gold thread. Delicate flowers and songbirds were sewn into the fabric, trailing down from the sweetheart necked bodice to the floaty skirt, which had a ruffled hem that swirled around your ankles when you walked. Lace gloves covered your hands, and white low-heeled boots adorned your feet. The single spot of color in the entire outfit was the royal blue silk sash tied in a bow around the waist, the white roses accenting it perfectly.
"Is this too tight, Y/N?" The sound of Noelle's voice snapped you back to reality. She was adjusting the lace veil on your head, pinning it in place with lots of hair pins.
"No, I'm fine," you said hurriedly. "C'mon, don't worry about me, you guys should get ready yourselves."
"We already have, silly," Eula slapped you on the arm gently. "Look!"
You glanced around at your bridesmaids; Jean, Noelle, Eula, Barbara, and Amber. They were all wearing the same silvery white dress, but they each had a different colored ribbon around their waist. Jean's was light green, Noelle's was gold, Eula's was navy, Barbara's was baby blue, and Amber's was red.
"You all look great," you complimented.
"Not as beautiful as you are!" Barbara exclaimed happily.
Amber hugged you from behind, careful not to ruin your dress. "I can't believe you're getting married, Y/N." she whispered. "And I can't believe you really chose me to be your maid of honor! I'm so glad!"
"Well of course," you smiled sheepishly. "You're my sister and my best friend. I don't know what I would do without you."
"Hey, Y/N, there's something for you," Jean called out from the doorway. "Adelinde says it's from Diluc."
"Oh! I wonder what it is," you said as Jean brought the bundled item over. It was a white box tied with a red ribbon. You quickly opened it up, reading the note that was folded inside.
Dear Y/N,
I apologize for giving this to you last minute, I forgot about it earlier. This is a gift from my late father. He told me to give this to the woman I loved when we got married, and here we are.
This belonged to my mother, who according to my father, was a true beauty. Just like you, Y/N. She wore it on her wedding day, and I hope that you will do so as well.
I'll see you at the altar. I love you.

Inside the box was the most beautiful crown you had ever seen; well, it was the only crown you had ever seen, but it was gorgeous nonetheless. It was a silver circlet that criss-crossed around your head, tiny sparkling diamonds inlaid in the metal. A large sapphire was set into the center, resting on your forehead.
"Oh my archons. That is the most beautiful thing ever!" Barbara squealed excitedly, helping you place the crown onto you head.
"I can't believe Diluc's mother owned such a thing." Eula admitted. "A shame, that neither of his parents are unable to attend their son's wedding. Oh well, at least you have us!" She smiled, which was a rare thing to outsiders but quite common in your ring of close friends. "Now c'mon, we need to get you to the altar."
"Grand Master Varka has arrived in time to walk you down the aisle, Y/N." Jean said.
"Perfect." You smiled to yourself, awaiting the moment that was about to come.

"We are gathered here today to celebrate the marriage of Diluc Ragvindr and Y/N L/N," Sister Victoria said from her place in the altar. "We wish them good luck and happiness in the times to come..."
You couldn't believe this was finally happening. It was like a dream come true. You looked around the Cathedral. All of your close friends had gathered together; Mona and Sucrose and Albedo. Venti smiled at you from where he was standing, playing the wedding match on his lyre. Even Rosaria had come to witness your wedding, although she sat in the back and didn't say a word to anyone.
You saw Klee in her adorable red and pink dress, running down the aisle happily, throwing flower petals at everyone. You saw your bridesmaids standing off to the side, holding bouquets of Windwheel Asters just like the ones you held. You saw Kaeya next to his brother, smiling to himself with a look on his face that you couldn't exactly decipher.
And then you looked at Diluc, the love of your life, your beloved. Your about-to-be husband. He was dressed in a three-piece suit with a white shirt. Around his neck was a fiery red tie the same color as his hair, which was held away from his face in a high ponytail.
He noticed you looking at him, and smiled.

You blushed happily. "I love you," you whispered to him.
"I love you more," he whispered back.
Then Sister Victoria asked for the two of you to state your wedding vows. Despite having practiced it mere hours before, you couldn't help but feel nervous as Diluc slid the wedding ring onto your finger, and you did the same to him.
"Diluc Ragvindr, do you take Y/N L/N to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
He smiled softly, holding your hand in his. "I do."
Sister Victoria turned to you. "And do you, Y/N L/N, take Diluc Ragvindr to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
You squeezed his hand, eyes filled with love for your one and only.
"I do."
AUTHOR'S NOTE. and it is completed !! wow writing about weddings is a lot harder than i thought it would be (since i've never been to one lmao) but this was fun! i'll be writing some female characters next since i haven't done so yet.
