⚊ chapter nineteen
Bitches be like "fuck school" and then do all of their schoolworks anyway because they're scared of failure. They're scared of what the future may bring.
And what? Be treated like you're nothing if you didn't graduate?
It's me. I'm one of those bitches who were now hanging out in the library, studying and preparing myself mentally for the tutoring session with Nishimura after the classes.
I was evaluating the result of his last quiz when I looked up to the entrance of the library.
Entering the huge room, sporting all the confidence in the world was Jungwon and his bestfriend, Sunoo save for the one I despise with all the abhorrent in my body.
Yes, big words coming from a rather stupid girl.
They walked passed my table and Jungwon's eyes caught mine. I look away quickly. They headed for a vacant table and sat down, whispering to each other quietly.
"What's up with you?", Dongpyo asked when he realized that I wasn't listening to him anymore.
"Nothing. I was just trying to avoid more people connected to that giant monkey", I replied.
"Yang Jungwon?", he asked and I nodded firmly, "Why? Are you really into him?"
"What? No!", I said, shaking my head quickly, "You know me, I never dated anyone who I had kissed in parties"
Dongpyo laughs, "I was just asking. After all, he had been talking about you lately", he said.
I looked over to the table that Jungwon sat talking loudly with Sunoo as if they weren't in the library.
I have to admit, Dongpyo is right.
He is cute. I've always noticed him before because of him being a part of the student council before I was removed, but if you look at him closer now than a year before, he had gone more good looking.
I see why more girls is crushing on him now.
My thoughts about him were cut off when Chenle and Rei made their way over to us, their eyes landing directly on the phone set atop one of my notebooks.
"Oh, you've finally got your phone back. I have to admit I'm a bit surprise you're not in the detention room yet", Chenle said as he plopped down the seat across from me while Rei took the one beside me.
"She had finally put at a password on it after a century", Dongpyo informed them.
"Because I had to make a stupid deal with him to get it back", I spat out bitterly, "And Rei, please next time if you'll give a dare, do not ever think of Nishimura again", I said, glaring at her condescendingly.
She's the one who started it, but it was still my fault for saying yes and was actually excited to sneak into his room in the first place.
"At least you'll be closer to him. You should be thanking me", Rei said with a chuckle.
"Now that she had done it, I heard she fully got the attention of Nishimura right now", Dongpyo said while nodding to Jungwon's table.
"Actually thanks to you Rei, he even got my aunt's number to tattle on me if I were ever back out in that stupid deal", I whined.
"Wow, Nishimura's advancing faster that I thought", Chenle commented in delight.
Upon hearing his words, Rei started choking on the tumbler she was hiding behind a book and Dongpyo's head snapped, both in shock and realization.
I suddenly realized how scandalous it sounded to their ears, "It's not like that", I whisper-yelled in a hurry.
Their shocked expressions slowly faded from their faces, likely in relief that I wasn't easy to get or you know, not likely to give up in the grudge I held against the boy in topic.
"You might hate this, but what if he wants to take you out on a date or something?", Rei said with a shrug.
"His actions had been nothing but flirty in some moments. This girl was just too focus on winning over him, they mostly fight together every damn time", Dongpyo shook his head in exasperation.
Chenle's the only one grinning wide among the four of us, "And his posts from her Instagram? Only someone who likes you would do that"
"God, I hope not. Going on a date with him sounds like the worst torture there is", I said, shivering in disgust.
I also think I'm in a love triangle to even bother with Nishimura. I love myself. Myself loves me. Me loves I.
No one can come through between me and myself and I. It's the most romantic pair there is to see.
As I was busy complaining about my life, Dongpyo decided to pick up my phone. He immediately burst into laughter as he looked at something on the screen.
Being curious, Chenle snatched it and he was soon muffling his laughters in order not to be heard by the librarian. I snatched my phone then, wondering what they were laughing about.
I hadn't opened it since Ni-ki handed it back, thinking on sanitizing it first.
My eyes widened as I looked at the new lockscreen, "What the fuck?", I whispered in shock.
It was a picture of him in a leopard print in a denim jacket, but it was quite a thirst trap as it was exposing a bit of his arm to the left downed sleeve. He was in front of a mirror with his head titled down to the right and he even wore at least two different necklace.
I felt my face heat up as my eyes glanced over the picture more. For you know, to see a fault and point it out to hin later.
But there's nothing. He looked perfect and I'm getting nervous.
"Wait, what's wrong? Can I see?", Rei asked curiously, wondering why I'm covering my face to hide it from them.
"Trust me, Rei, Minmin here just want to see it for herself", Dongpyo said with a chuckle as he passed the phone to my friend anyway.
Chenle snorted, "And she kept telling that she hated him yet was blushing by the mere existence of a single hot picture"
"Wow.. You need help soon, Minji. You're having a hard time now to deny it", Rei said with amusement in her eyes.
"Shut up. What are you saying? I'm just embarassed by him having that kind of confidence over his ugly face", I muttered even though I could hear a little voice in the back of my mind telling me otherwise.
Being single is lonely. Being in a relationship is stressful based on what I heard.
Being friends with this kind of people is amusing but not funny sometimes.
Being teased about you crushing on your mortal enemy is fucking annoying.
You really can't win.

When Chenle and I entered the last class for the afternoon, most students were already there, so our usual seat in the middle was taken.
I spotted two vacant seats near the back row, so I dragged Chenle there and I almost fight a boy to grab the one next to me. Thankfully, after one threat of putting a hole in his back, he backed away and let my friend have it.
I know I was being too violent, but I can't help it, especially when you're in a bad mood.
Thanks to Nishimura, it was permanent now in my system.
The teacher was not here yet so I was busy talking to Chenle about China's history like that one Emperor who died by having a molten gold poured by his throat, believing it to give him an immortality - when Jungwon and Sunoo walked in with the one and only monkey of the year.
I'm glad I was born in the year of rooster. Maybe that's why I love any chicken food? Surely it is.
I didn't know they would be in this class. I mean, aren't they're a year ahead of us?
Or maybe they're here to keep a tight leash on Ni-ki for the good of everyone in this classroom?
That's the only possible answer for me.
Thankfully, they didn't seem to notice me as they sat in the remaining desk behind Chenle and I. I turned back in front of me as the teacher entered and started the class right away without any kind of a friendly greeting.
During the middle of the lesson, I felt a tap on my shoulder. When I turned around, I saw it was Sunoo.
I raised my eyebrow at him, "What is it?", I asked.
"Is it true that you won over our friend here?", he asked, pointing his pen at the direction of Ni-ki, who was glaring at him.
"As I told you before, she didn't win over me", Ni-ki cut in, but Sunoo ignored him. He looked at me, awaiting my response.
I looked around at the teacher who had his back turned to us writing something on the blackboard before facing Sunoo again.
"Leave me alone and don't get me in trouble. Your friend there had already brought me tons of it", I hissed in a whisper.
"Ooh, she's really a feisty one. A great match to Riki here", Jungwon said from his seat and Sunoo laughed at his comment.
I rolled my eyes at their behavior, "I don't have time for your games, guys. Maybe next time", I said and turned back around to face the front.
Chenle raised his eyebrows as if to ask 'what was that?' and I shook my head for him to leave it. He nodded and went back to his work.
Ignoring the snickerings and bickering behind me, I went back to my work as well.
They were disrupting the class with how loud they were getting and soon enough, as I hoped, the trio was sent into the detention room even though the class wasn't finist yet.
As for me, I hope I don't see another detention for the rest of my school year.
It sounds like an impossible feat if Nishimura Riki is always there.
Everywhere in my mind. All the time.
