⚊ chapter seventeen

Here's the list of the ten things that annoys me the most:

1. Feelings

2. People

3. Nishimura Riki

4. Couples

5. Nishimura Riki

6. Gym teachers

7. Nishimura Riki

8. Losing

9. Attention-seeker

10. Nishimura Riki

It was basically everything I can see in my hindsight right now, I don't even know why I started making a list.

As usual after the gym teacher announced the dodge ball game, everyone protest while Ni-ki and I stared at each other, both looking for a challenge.

Mostly the stuck-up girls who doesn't like to get sweaty. They were lucky I'm busy enough with their big crush, I won't waste my saliva to remind them to have some dignity for the sake of raising the flag for the young women such as us.

How can they try to diet and power through the exercises to be skinny but never do it in school?

I'm not saying it's the majority and yet I still feel disappointed, more to myself. Why am I even thinking of their well being?

Mr. Duprey blew his whistle to indicate that we should start the warm up race and stop the complaining.

The excuse of having a period or stomache was a broken record now, only a few was able to leave for the clinic.

Girls is their usual customers.

"Well, see you on the finish line, Grumps!", Ni-ki shouted towards me as he takes of running.

I started to run as well with the rest of the class, although they were soon watching me speed through if only to catch up with the giant monkey. They were used to this, to me being competitive against someone annoying the shit out of me.

The biggest example was last year, I passed out from exhaustion due to the track field's race and that someone named Huening Kai won over me.

After a while, another class had joined us which happens to be the same one for Yang Jungwon, I knew this was about to get exciting for me until everyone finished up their laps.

We all gathered together and the two gym teachers went over the rules of the dodge ball. I looked over to where the other class stood and my eyes landed on Jungwon.

He looked back at me and smiled. I shook my head and turned back to face the front.

As I look back to our own class, I caught onto Ni-ki's eyes on me and if Jungwon wore a smile, this one is always a smirk. With his attractive face, it works - it looks good on him whichever angle you looked at it.

The gym teachers aligned the balls on the center line in the gym then stepped back. My class stood on one side and Jungwon's stood on the next side. The female gym teacher placed her whistle into her mouth and blow it.

As soon as the whistle sounded, everyone run for the ball.

I run for the boy as well, keeping a keen eye on my biggest opponent. There were a lot of balls thrown at me, but luckily I dodged all of them. I then directed my ball towards a girl who I didn't know the name of and throw it.

The ball hit her legs. She's out of the game. Less obstacle to go for Nishimura.

She gave me a glare as she trudged towards the benches. I lifted my hand and waved at her, grinning widely.

"You're welcome", I replied to her pleasant show of gratitude.

The game continued until only a few of us were left. On my class, there were three of us. Ni-ki, another boy I never remembered the name, and I.

On the opposing class, there were four people; Jungwon, two girls and one boy. One of the girls was on the volleyball team. Our classmates who had been eliminated was cheering for us from the bleachers.

Surprisingly enough, they were cheering for me and Ni-ki the most.

I hate to disappoint them later once I'm done with these people - for I would not stop to go for Nishimura's head.

I grab for another ball and directed my attention to Jungwon. Jungwon, however, was paying on the boy on my team, who had just thrown a ball towards him. He dodged it skillfully.

Damn him for being an athletic cat!

Taking my chance at his distraction, thanks to the boy in my class, I threw my ball at him. By the time Jungwon saw the ball, it was too late. The ball hit him on the cheek.

Jungwon looked in my direction, shooting me a glare. He began to rubs his cheeks sorely as he walked off the court. The students from my class cheered loudly.

"Nice shot, Grumps!", Ni-ki cheered me, calling me by my nickname in front of everyone.

He then gave me a high five even though I was frowning hard to notice all of our classmates are watching us closely. I smiled at him a bit before turning my attention back to the game.

As the game progressed, the remaining boy in our team was out, so is the rest from the other team, leaving only one player to go against me.

Nishimura Riki. I smiled for real this time. Just the way I'm planning this game to end.

Without a warning, he threw a lot of balls at me, but I dodged them all. I also threw a lot at him and he also dodged them skillfully for being a soccer player.

The game was getting difficult because the two of us both refused to lost. We even ignored the teachers saying our class had won, we were only focus on one goal, to take out the other one.

To see who's the last one standing.

We both were always watching each other, so we always knew when the ball was coming. My classmates were cheering for me loudly like Chenle while Jungwon is the loudest for Ni-ki.

An idea popped into my head and I smiled to myself. I began to feign like I'm throwing the ball at him while he watched me and the ball like a hawk.

I finally brought the ball above my head and set like I was about to throw it. However, before the ball left my hands, I brought my hands down and directed the ball for his foot.

When he had thought the ball was coming for his upper body, he had ducked down. By the time he realized I had changed position, he jumped into the air but he was too late, the ball hit him on the foot.

When my classmates realized I had won, they shouted loudly and began cheering. I jumped up in joy as well before running forward to Chenle who hugged me as we celebrate together, which was a mistake for turning my back on the real threat.

It had only been five minute of my second win against him, and now I was already sat on the bench with an ice pack held to my forehead.

I had been whacked in the face with a dodge ball by none other than Nishimura Riki. I thought the rules that once you win, the game is over but the gym teacher had decided to ignore the rule as to not upset him.

But what about me? I'm the real winner here! Fuck your rules!

"Good game, Minji", Jungwon praised me. Students from his class and mine came up after that and congratulated me.

They could clearly see the foul game in Ni-ki's side.

"Alright, everyone! Hit the showers and go to your next class!", the gym teacher shouted and everyone began to leave the gym.

As I was following the girls to the shower room, I sent a death glare at Ni-ki across the court. He must've felt the heat of my gaze because he turned around and gave me a little innocent wave.

It wasn't the least of it though, in his hands was my phone and by the look on his face, I knew he's letting me know he's about to post something again.

God, I hated him so much.

Is "done" an emotion? Because I feel that in my soul everytime I see his dumb face in this school.
