⚊ chapter sixteen
This was too bad to be true. The mighty and respected Park Minji - in my perspective and believe in my ability to get over my head - who always looked so cool and calm is finally embarassing herself at the max level.
Nishimura Riki is going to revel at every second of it.
Of course, in his point of view, he wanted to remember this day forever and also for potential blackmail, he whipped out his phone, rushing to get me into a capture motion of shame, not wanting to miss anything.
He held the phone up to my face, making sure to zoom in extra close.
Can his friends fuck off with their laughters and jeers behind him? I don't need them reminding me of how I am the biggest idiot of the week.
"Grumps", Ni-ki called, causing for me to break out in growls, "Please", he said, letting out a loud bark as he started to circle around me who sat down in shame at his bed.
What the hell is he trying to do?
Just as I was about to attack him to stop taking a video of me, I heard cheer coming from Sunoo and Jake, followed by the sound of Jungwon screaming in glee and rapidly approaching footsteps behind the distracted Ni-ki.
Well, shit.
He was shoved down by his back and the surprise caused him to clumsily drop his phone down the floor. It wasn't the least of my problems though, his phone wasn't the only one to drop onto something.
I could say it by the sudden heavy weight on top of me and the impact was so strong, I closed my eyes by the abrupt fall of my body down the mattress which saves me from most of the pain.
Not from the pain of another level of mortification because when I opened my eyes to hear a hitching up breath, I came in contact with the reddening face of Nishimura Riki.
As I took a slow scoot to the side, I heard a soft groan, followed by a faint, "Minji"
I am so dead.
I carefully observed his face and furrowed my eyebrows as I saw his eyes were blinking down at me in utter shock while his friends were cackling in the background like a group of delighted gorillas.
I was confused: I swear I never heard him call me by my proper name before.
About to attempt to leave him, I saw his lips move and he call out gently, "Minji" again but this time, slightly louder and clearer.
Oh my god. Was he knocked out of his sanity?
This is too good to be true.
"Sunoo, come on. Capture it and let's send it to her cousin!", I heard Jungwon cutely shouted behind us.
Not wanting for them to send something scandalous to Sunghoon, I pushed Ni-ki out of the way and crazily dashed out of the room, then ran like a crazy woman until I was out of the street before I go for my parked car.
"Did you get it?", said Rei in excitement as she turned around to face me after I slammed the door opened and closed it.
Breathing heavily, I signalled for her to drive and seeing that I was so red in the face and clearly empty-handed, she quickly speed out of the street for the reason, she already understood the outcome of this adventure.
The outcome of a mission failed and in the game I had against Nishimura Riki, this was the result.
Minji: 1 - Ni-ki: 1
I guess she also knew by the look in my face that I was caught.
"So what happened? Are we in need to get out of the city now? Is he calling the police?", Rei asked in pure panic.
"Of course, my cousin would betray me for his friend but I got away and I don't think Ni-ki would be calling for a police, I didn't get anything from his house", I said, chuckling to myself as I dug my hand into my pocket to find my phone.
Holy chicken shit. It's about time for my grin to slowly drop from my face as I realized that my phone was not in my pocket at all, but still lying abandoned on the floor of Ni-ki's room.
I accidentally dropped it after I got startled by their own attack ten minutes ago.
Is this the right moment to say that meme? This is when I knew I've truly fucked up.
"Oh no. This is bad, Rei. I'm truly and badly fucked up", I said as my face turned ghostly white, "Let's just keep it short and admit that I left my phone in Ni-ki's room...", I mumbled in distress.
"Well, you're definitely screwed, aren't you?", Rei said with a snort, not bearing around the bush, "I mean, no offense, but once Ni-ki saw it, the life you knew is over"
She started to drive slower as we go for the opposite direction of my house and silence engulfed the car as I contemplated how screwed I was.
I'm not trusting Ni-ki with the life of me not to mess with it and because I was so confident I would never lost it anywhere, I didn't exactly put a password in it.
All the apps I had in it like Instagram, Twitter and Facebook was free for him to visit and worse, what if he post something?
"Anyway, what do you think he would see first? Your stolen photos of him or the app diary you have full of hate-filled notes about the giant monkey, which is also him?", Rei said with a smile, clapping on the steering wheel in excitement.
"Shut up, Rei. The games is over. I'm doom and you know it", I grumbled bitterly.
Rei and her love for something reckless had got me into enough trouble tonight.
Actually, it was just about to start as Rei were soon squealing when we stopped to eat at a convenience store and she immediately made me look at the post in her IG.
Nishimura Riki did not wait a day for his shoot back at me.

I can feel it. There's a storm brewing from the moment I stepped into my first subject in the next day and what I stumbled to is the giant monkey bearing the most idiotic grin on his face.
He had the guts to wave my own phone in the air, clearly taunting me to get it myself.
And because I was the very epitome of calm and collected, also unashamed of my own deeds, I go on with my day without ever giving him the satisfaction that he had won.
No. Never. It's still not over.
It was kind of funny how the exact time I met him again was in the gym class. I sat on the bleachers, waiting for the class to start. I spotted Chenle walking over to me after changing into a p.e pants and shirt.
"I knew something's about to happen here", he said, patting me on the back like my own cheerleader.
Just as I was beginning I wouldn't share it with him, Ni-ki strutted his way into the gym, laughing about something with his friend, James. Girls who obviously had a crush on him stares, and I admit he's cute, but it wouldn't hurt to look away a bit.
I noticed that he never paid any attention to those girls and I had only ever seen him interact with the one and only Kim Sunhee.
Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen him with a girlfriend either.
I was about to look away, realizing I had been staring for far too long, but it was too late.
Ni-ki's intense eyes did a quick scan of the bleachers before stopping on me.
I glared while his eyes held a mischievous twinkle in them, a promise for a trouble. Then he had the audacity to give me a wink before pointing me to James who was grinning at my way in turn.
"I just hope you wouldn't end up in detention after this class", Chenle said with a wince after watching my little interaction with my arch enemy.
The gym teacher finally walked in after ten minutes and it just have to happened for him to tell we were going to play the infamous game of dodge ball.
What a perfect timing. I'm basically pumped to throw something in Nishimura's face.
