NOTE: I am going to be formatting each chapter in this the same way I did "What If...?", with events happening how I usually write, and Fiend coming in every now and then to give some narration. with that being said, let us begin
Coruscant, 2554
Fiend was sitting on his bed, looking at a picture of him and Blue Team, during the Human-Covenant War, his first ever assignment in the war
he traced his cybernetic fingers against the photo. to say he missed them was an understatement. they saved his life, and gave him a proper childhood. well, as proper as it can be for a child soldier. he knew Kelly, Linda and Fred were still alive, just out doing missions. but John.. the Master Chief.. declared MIA by the UNSC, and that usually means they're dead. Chief was Fiend's favorite of the team, as he was the one who saved him to begin with. he saw him as a Father, though he never did, and never will, admit it
???: hey
Fiend looks up and sees Ahsoka, standing in the doorway, smiling warmly at him
Fiend: hey..
he looks down at the picture again. Ahsoka walks in and sits down next to Fiend, looking at the picture
Ahsoka: is that..
Fiend: Blue Team. greatest team of Spartan-II's in existence...
Ahsoka then notices Fiend in the center
Ahsoka: is that you?
Fiend: yep..
Ahsoka: you're small there
Fiend: I was 10, Ahsoka
Ahsoka was shocked
Ahsoka: 10? you were 10 in that photo?
Fiend doesn't respond, so Ahsoka asks a different question
Ahsoka: Fiend what's the real reason you called me over?
Fiend still looked at the picture. a few tears fell out of the bottom of his helmet. he took a deep breath, mainly to stop himself from completely breaking down Infront of Ahsoka
Fiend: I.... I..... I need to get this off my chest....
Ahsoka looked confused
Ahsoka: get what off your chest?
Fiend: ...my past...
Fiend turns to Ahsoka
Fiend: get comfy... its a long story...
Ahsoka nods, gently wrapping her arms around Fiend, and resting her head on his chest plate
Fiend: lets start a few years before the beginning, in 2534. my mother, April Shan, was the Jedi Order's UNSC Representative. she helped out with the war effort against the Covenant when needed, and even tested a set of Mark V MJOLNIR. it should have killed her, but she managed to stop it from doing so with the force. she was well respected in both the UNSC, and the Jedi Order, on route to becoming Grand Master if Yoda died. that all changed one day, when she met... him...
Earth, 2534
April walks through a UNSC facility, greeting any officers, marines, or Spartans that went past her. she walks into the mess hall, and sees someone sitting alone in the corner. he wore standard marine gear, and was clearly humanoid. but what set him apart, was his ghost white skin, and the 2 horns protruding from his head. she turns to one of the marines
April: excuse me, soldier, who's that over there?
Marine: oh Duak? yeah he's a freak am I right? looks like some kind of alien
the Marine walks off, and April looks at Duak sympathetically
Fiend: Duak Blazkowicz was unfortunate enough to be born a Marauder. a corrupted human, made only to serve the Khan Maykr. he never did, because the Khan Maykr died years ago, but he was shunned by everyone. everyone except April. the 2 became close friends, and eventually fell for one another. one year later, April was kicked out of the Jedi Order once they discovered she was pregnant with my older brother, Nathan...
Coruscant, 2535
April stood in the center of the Council Chambers, the Jedi Council looking down on her
Mace: Master Shan, you have broken the Jedi Code
April: I am aware Windu
Plo: a pity, you were one of our best. and a good friend
April: I am sorry, my friends
Yoda: hmm.. expel you, we must. but if work out, this does not, welcome you back, we will. sad to see you go, it is. but hope for your future, we do
April: thank you Yoda
April gave the council one last smile, before walking out. while walking to the exit, she is stopped by a Padawan
???: Master?
April: hello Obi-Wan
Obi-Wan: where are you going?
April: I was kicked out of the order, young Kenobi
Obi-Wan looked down
Obi-Wan: I'm sorry to hear that, master
he looks back at her
Obi-Wan: will I see you again?
April: possibly, I wouldn't want to abandon my favorite Padawan
they both chuckled
April: well run along now, Young Kenobi. your master must be worried sick
Obi-Wan: of course, goodbye Master
Obi-Wan runs off, and April heads to the Jedi Temple hanger. she makes it there, where Duak is waiting with a Pelican, wearing typical Marauder attire
Duak: how did it go..?
April: they kicked me out
Duak was enraged
Duak: those little-
April: Duak, calm down
Duak did not, so April approached him and gently petted his horns. this seemed to calm him
Duak: forgive me, my love.. anger runs in the family...
April gave a small smile
April: its fine. lets go home
Duak smiled under his mask, and the two went inside the pelican, bound for Earth
Fiend: the two of them went back home, and about eight months later, Nathan was born. he was loved instantly. April and Duak basically spoiled him rotten, while also making sure he wasn't entitled to everything. and, shockingly, it worked, as Nathan is probably the nicest guy I know. about a week after Nathan's first birthday, Duak proposed, and April said yes. a few weeks later, they got married, and celebrated like most couples do, I think. they fucked. but little did they know, that little "session", would change the fate of the galaxy...
Earth, 2537
Duak was sitting in his room, Nathan asleep in his lap, when April walks in, holding something
April: Duak, I have news
Duak: what is it love?
April then shows Duak the thing she was holding, which was a pregnancy test, and it was positive
April: I'm pregnant
Fiend: Duak had alot of feelings towards this. due to being drunk during the wedding sex session, he had forgot to wear protection. though, he thought he did, so as far as he was aware, April had cheated, when that wasn't the case. April was pregnant with his second child. and nine months later, on September 21st, he would be brought into the world
Earth, 2538
April was in a hospital bed, giving birth to the child. Duak was beside her, holding her hand and whispering words of encouragement, though internally, he was resentful. the doctor then walks up to them
Doctor: bad news, the kid's not gunna fit through her entrance. we're going to have to cut into the womb to get the child out
April: is it safe?
Doctor: oh, yeah, this is nowhere near the first time its happened
April was soon prepped for surgery. she couldn't be put to sleep, so they just gave her enough chemicals to make her feel nothing. but they didn't give her enough. so she felt it. she felt every cut and she felt them moving around her organs. eventually they made it to the womb, cut it open, and pulled out the child. while the surgeons put April back together, the main doctor walked over with the child wrapped up in blankets
Doctor: its a boy, Miss Shan
April, despite the pain she was feeling, took the child into her arms
Duak: maybe I should..
April: no, I am holding him, you can't stop me
Duak chuckled, though internally cursed at himself. part of him wanted to just take the child and kill it, but he didn't. he could never bring himself to kill a child, let alone one that belonged to woman of his dreams. so instead, he asked
Duak: what're you going to name him?
April contemplated, then a name popped up in her head. the name of her former Jedi Master
April: Brock. we'll call him Brock
Duak said nothing, simply grunting
Fiend: the day Brock Blazkowicz was born, was the day the fate of the galaxy shifted. it was the day April and Duak's marriage was challenged. the day April's want to rejoin the Jedi somewhat rose, due to Brock being force sensitive. and it was the day Humanities savior was born, for what they knew as Brock Blazkowicz then, we now know today by a different name. that name?
