Invisible People

When I was a little girl
I'd stare up at the sky
Creating tales from things I'd see
With my wide and wondering eyes

The trees could laugh
By shaking their leaves
The insects cried war
I didn't dare tempt the bees

The toys could talk
And smile all the time
But no matter the warriors or trinkets
Only one thing truly plagued my mind

The invisible people living in the sky
Up in their cloud houses galore
Most didn't see them, ponder their ways
But I imagined that and so much more

How they redecorated their homes
With only the tool of the wind
And the way they lived life
With no money to spend

I guess with no need for food
You wouldn't need stores
That just left time to spend
Painting the sky with colors

That's their job you see
To use the sky as their canvas
Providing light for the world
Not just me or you, but us

We gaze upon it everyday
And some see not a thing
But I with my childlike eyes
Could see the beauty the invisible
people could bring
