What the hell just happened?
That was all Ash Ketchum could think of as he finds himself in a room that he could not recognize, he looked around his surroundings and figured out he was in a library.
"What's going on?" A confused Ash muttered. On his shoulder is his starter Pokemon and best friend, Pikachu, an Electric Mouse Type Pokemon, who is just as confused as his trainer, and nods in agreement. A minute ago, they were on their way to Lilycove City in the Hoenn Region, with their friend, Goh. They were there for Pokemon Research, one minute he was just sitting on his airplane sit when a flash of light surrounded him, and then, the next thing he knew, he and Pikachu were in a library.
He looked at his belt and saw all of his Pokeballs containing Lucario, Sirfetch'd, Draconite, Dracovish, and Gengar. He took out all of his Pokeballs and tossed them in the air. "Alright guys, Come on out!" He shouted.
Five bright flashes and Lucario, Sirfetch'd, Draconite, Dracovish, and Gengar appear, all looking equally confused as their trainer and Pikachu.
"Ash, where are we?" Lucario asked.
"And what's going on?" Farfetch'd asked.
"I don't-" Ash began saying before stopping, his eyes wide in realization. Did he just understand what his Pokemon are saying? He looked at all of his Pokemon, who all have a similar look on their faces as him.
"Whatever weird situation we are in, it just got weirder," Pikachu said. Ash, who is still trying to process that he just understood his Pokemon, couldn't help but nod in agreement.
They were then caught off by a group of flashing lights that made a popping noise.
Ash and Pikachu had their eyes wide as they saw.........
"Serena!?/Greninja!?" Both Ash and Pikachu said in surprise yet in joy.
"Ash!?/Ash!?" Both Serena and Greninja said. Both are shocked yet happy at the same time, Greninja, who hadn't seen his trainer since he went with Squishy and Z2 to destroy the vines, went over to hug his trainer and teammate, who both hugged him back happily. Meanwhile, Serena, not hearing Greninja speaking normally, couldn't help but smile as she watches the guy she loved being reunited with Greninja. She knew how upset Ash was when he parted ways with Greninja, he might have appeared happy and proud for Greninja the moment they found out about the mission Squishy and Z2 tasked him but she knew him well enough to know that there was a part of him that was upset and sad for Greninja's departure.
"It's great to see you again Greninja," Ash said, happy to see his Kalosian starter. "You as well Ash and Pikachu," Greninja said while smiling happily with Ash and Pikachu returning the smile. Serena, who finally heard Greninja, eyes wide in shock and jaw dropped. Did she just hear Greninja speak like a human? Seeing her shocked expression, Ash walked over to the honey-blonde Performer and said; "I had the same expression and yes, apparently, we can now understand what our Pokemon are saying." Ash said while giving the Kalosian girl a reassuring smile. Serena, who still can't believe that she and Ash can understand Pokemon, gave Ash a small smile, and out of nowhere, she hugged Ash, who was surprised but eventually hugged her back.
"It's great seeing you again Ash, I miss you so much," Serena said through the embrace, making Ash smile.
"I miss you too," He said, making her smile as well, and they eventually broke the hug.
Ash, who finally got a full glimpse of his childhood friend's new appearance, can't help but stare and admire her new appearance and can not believe how different she now looks from the last time he saw her. Her hair was now a bit longer and her outfit had changed, she replaced her pink hat with a grey hat and changed her pink and red outfit to a black turtleneck tank top, a red and white skirt, and large red bow earrings. She is also wearing a pink bracelet on her right wrist, black stockings, and long brown boots with short heels. Her new look was perfect for her and he loved it, just as she said to him two years ago before she left for Hoenn.
Just like Ash, Serena couldn't help but stare and admire Ash's new appearance and how much he changed since the last time she saw him. He was now taller than her and his outfit was different, he was wearing a red hat with a black Pokeball design formed into a letter C, and his hair is still messy as it was when they last saw each other and he looks more mature when they were in Kalos. He wore a blue vest with gold outlines, a white undershirt with short sleeves, red stripe indigo shorts with black outlines, and black sneakers with blue highlights. He was also wearing his signature fingerless gloves. She couldn't help but continue to stare at him until...
"I hate to ruin this moment but Master care to introduce us first before you continue staring at your mate," Lucario said causing both Ash and Serena to blush when Lucario referred to Serena as Ash's mate meanwhile, Pikachu and Greninja couldn't help but smile at their trainer and the girl he loves. For as long as Pikachu has known Ash, he and his trainer have traveled and met many girls during his journeys but he had never shown any slight interest in any of them until he met Serena, and throughout their journey in Kalos, he watched as his trainer and Serena fell for each other, but neither of them notices each other's feelings for one another thanks to Ash's denseness and was upset that they won't know each other's feelings, but he was proven wrong. Before leaving for Hoenn, Serena surprised Ash and the rest of their friends by kissing him on the lips, everyone was surprised by the honey-blonde-haired girl's boldness.
He was happy that Ash finally discovered how Serena felt about him, unfortunately, she didn't know he also felt the same way about her. For Greninja, he was also happy about Ash and Serena, after all since he was a Froakie, he watched Ash and Serena fall in love with one another and was hoping that they would get together.
"She's not my girlfriend," Ash said. "Yet" Added in his mind. "And, your right, Serena, Greninja I would like for you all to meet my new team, Lucario, Sirfetch'd, Dracovish, Dragonite, And Gengar" "Hello!" All of Ash's Pokemon said. "Everyone this is Greninja, my starter Pokemon in Kalos and one of my strongest Pokemon" "Hello!" "And this is Serena, my childhood best friend, and former traveling companion in Kalos, she is a Pokemon Performer and Coordinator" Ash ended. "It's a pleasure to meet all of you," Serena said warmly toward Ash's Pokemon. "Well since I already introduce you to my Pokemon, how about you introduce yours?" Ash said and Serena nodded, grabbed all her Pokeballs, and shouted; "Alright, Guys, let's dance" Three bright flashes and Delphox, Pancham, and Sylveon appeared.
Confused, Serena's Pokemon looked around their surroundings until they saw.......
"Ash!?", "Pikachu!?" "Greninja!?"
All of Serena's Pokemon said in unison surprised to see their trainer's crush and his Pokemon. Delphox, Pancham, and Sylveon happily run toward Ash, Pikachu, and Greninja and hugged them. While he, along with Ash and Pikachu, was happy to see Pancham and Slyveon, Greninja's gaze was on Delphox, he had finally seen her after all this time. The last time he had seen her was before he left with Squishy and Z2, at that time she was still a Braixen and now she had finally evolved, she looked different but to him, she was still the same Fennekin he met when he was a Froakie. Just like Greninja, Delphox was just as happy as her teammates to see Ash and Pikachu but her gaze was focused on her old friend and crush, Greninja, who she hadn't seen since he went on his mission with Squishy and Z2. During that time, she was only a Braixen and then Serena decided to go to Hoenn and decided to try out the Pokemon Contest to expand her knowledge in performing as well as battling. Just like her trainer, she had grown a lot which caused her to evolve, and have been waiting for the moment to reunite with Greninja for him to see how much she changed and grown.
"It's great to see all of you again," Ash said after letting go of Pancham and Sylveon. "Yeah, it is great to see all of you again," Pikachu said while looking at his friends, however, his gaze was soon focused on Slyveon, the fairy-type Eevee evolution looked exactly as Pikachu remembered, he remembered how she used to be so nervous around him when she was only an Eevee, which slowly faded after she evolved and the two of them started hanging out more when neither of them is practicing or training. The two became friends and just like Ash and Greninja, he begins to have feelings toward her, however, he has never gotten the chance to admit his true feelings. Meanwhile, Greninja, who didn't know what to say to Delphox, was quiet until Delphox walked toward him.
"You okay Greninja," Delphox asked, breaking the trance of the Humanoid Frog, who looked at his concerned friend. "Yeah, I'm fine," Greninja said to his concerned friend and gave her a small smile. Delphox, who didn't quite believe him but decided not to push anything, returned the same smile he had given her. He offered her his hand, which she grabbed and together they walked over to the rest of the group.
Meanwhile, Ash introduced Serena's Pokemon and Greninja to his new team and they all started talking and getting along very well, especially Greninja and Lucario, who are both two out of six of Ash's strongest Pokemon. Serena couldn't help but smile as Pancham and Sirfetch'd started fighting, which reminded her of the friendly rivalry that Pancham has with Clemont's Chespin, however, she soon noticed Ash in deep thought, and she knew exactly what was on his mind, what are they doing here? That's what's probably on his mind. She was about to walk over to him and talk to him when a familiar bright light and popping sound caught their attention.
Ash, Serena, and their Pokemon walked over and were all in shock as they saw familiar faces in the pile. For Ash and Pikachu, they saw his mother, his Pokemon, his friends (Except for Cilan, Iris, Goh, and Chloe) and their Pokemon, Professor Oak, his grandson, and his former rival, Gary, one of his rival's, Paul Shinji, Grace Yvonne, Serena's mother, Lusamaine Aether, the Head of Aether Foundation, his former boss, and the mother of his friends, Lillie and Gladion, and Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket. Serena saw her mother, Clemont, Bonnie, her new friends, May Maple, her brother, Max, her boyfriend, Drew Hayden, and Dawn Berlitz.
Just like Greninja, Serena, and her Pokemon before, all of them panicked.
"What's going on?" May asked, as she
"What are we doing in a library?" Dawn asked
"Okay, whoever did this really wants to meet my mallet," Misty Williams, one of Ash's oldest friends, his first female companion, and the Gym Leader of the Cerulean Gym said. Making everyone nervous, especially the ones who have met Misty's mallet.
"Ash, honey what's going on?" Delia Ketchum asked her son.
"I don't know Mom, we're just as confused as you are," Ash said to his mother.
"His right Mr. Ketchum," Pikachu said, which caught everyone's attention.
"Ash did Pikachu just.....?" Brock Harrison, one of Ash's oldest friends, traveling companions, and older brother figure asked.
"Speak like us? Yes, apparently they can know to speak like us humans" Ash bluntly said.
"But that doesn't still explain what we are doing here?" Professor Oak said while trying to process that Pokemon can speak like humans. "Maybe that can answer our question" Bonnie, Ash and Serena's traveling companion in Kalos, asked. Causing everyone to turn around and saw a coffee table with a book on it surrounded by chairs, couches, and beanbags.
"Was that there when you guys got here?" Tracey, Ash's traveling companion in the Orange Islands, asked. "No!" Ash said, surprised to see the coffee table, book, chairs, couches, and beanbags, at the same time a note appeared in his hand, and opened it.
"Dear Ash and Co.- "Surprising everyone in this room, how did this person know who they are?
"I know you are all wondering as to what you are doing in this library. I brought you all here to read an alternate version of Ash's time in Alola. Why? To show you the answers to your what if's.

"What do you guys think? Do think we can trust this person? To read this alternate time of Ash in Alola" Gary Oak, Ash's childhood best friend, a former rival, and Pokemon Professor in training asked everyone in the room.
"I don't think none of us have a choice," Brock said.
"Brock's right, We don't have a choice, and besides I want to know what my other self does and what things he has achieved," Ash said, curious to know what his other self is like and how he won in the Alolan League and if his other self is with Serena. Realizing Ash's valid point, everyone began to wonder what their other selves have achieved.
"What do you think Professor?" Delia and Grace asked. The elderly man was silent, he didn't know what to say while his conscious is saying no, he was also curious. His gaze was on the book then back at the excited teens, then sigh.
"I don't know what this Alexia person's plan is but if reading this book is the only way out of this place then we should read this book" Delia and Grace nodded while the rest of the teens, minus Paul, cheered and everyone began to sit at their respective places.
"Well, who's going to read first?" Brock asked.
"I will," Ash said and took the book.
