Billie had been driving for only a few minutes before she turned into a Taco Bell drive thru. I didn't even know we had Taco Bell in England.

"Why am I not surprised." I say, laughing at her predictable, yet strange choice of food.

Billie smiled as she pulled the car round to the speaker and rolled down her window.

"What do you want?" she asked me.

"I'll have whatever, I've never eaten here." I reply.

I wouldn't even know where to start. Hopefully she chooses something that isn't completely gross.

Billie turns back to the speaker as a worker greets her, asking for her order.

"Hey, can I have 3 bean burritos please." she says.

"Is that all?" the worker responds.

Billie turns her head to me and sits back in the chair, signalling for me to say anything I wanted.

"Could I have a latte please?" I say into the speaker.

It's the morning, coffee is practically an essential.

"That's £4.25, pull round." the worker says.

Billie follows the drive thru and stops at the payment window. I grab my wallet and go to take a £5 note but she bats my hand out of the way, the note falling into the footwell.

As I reached down for the note, I heard some sort of squeal from the window. I say squeal because I don't really know what it was - a very high pitched sort of scream I guess.

"Oh my god, you're Billie Eilish right?" a woman asks, excited.

I looked back up and placed my wallet between my legs. The woman in the Taco Bell window was practically screaming at this point. I take it she's a fan.

"That's me." Billie responds, smiling.

It was obvious that her smile was fake. She was just being polite yet I knew she was tired of being asked.

"Can I take a picture with you?" the woman asks, her phone already out of her apron.

I swiftly turned my head to face out of the passenger window. I don't really want to be seen with Billie. It's mainly for her sake; paparazzi and news stations are like vultures, if they see anything remotely out of the ordinary they'll create some sort of rumour.

I don't want to expose Billie to anything like that unless she doesn't mind us being seen together.

I stared tediously out of the window as I heard the clicks of the woman's iPhone. She was taking more than one photo, that's for sure.

"Nice to meet you love." Billie says, sweet and kind as always, before rolling the car forward to the second window.

I kept my head turned, just in case someone with their camera followed us through the restaurant.

Billie grabbed our food and placed it in my lap. She thanked the worker and began to drive away.

I turned back around and placed the latte that was in my lap into a cup holder before I had the chance to drop it and spray it across the car.

I opened the bag and handed Billie a burrito, also taking one for myself.

"What's a bean burrito?" I asked.

"It's a burrito with beans in it." Billie laughed - I think I might have just asked a very stupid question.

I could feel my face turn red from the embarrassment. I bit into my burrito to try and hide it.

It wasn't bad, but it definitely isn't delicious. I'd say it's more like mushy beans; the texture is gross.

Billie was enjoying hers. I still can't believe she chose to eat burritos, from Taco Bell, for breakfast.

"Do you want me to drive you home?" she asked after swallowing a mouthful.

"Sure, I wouldn't want to get in the way of any plans." I responded.

She's probably got some sort of rehearsal or sound check or interview planned.

"I don't have plans." she continued.

As Billie drove, she devoured her burrito. I took the wrapper from her hands and handed her the other one.

"Don't you want anymore?" she asked, offering it back to me.

"No you're alright. It's all yours." I said, nudging it back into her hand. I'd only just managed to eat mine, and I don't really fancy another one.

She continued to eat as I sipped on my latte. She managed to eat them both without dropping any. Now I think that's an accomplishment in itself, don't you?

Billie's driving was a mix of relaxed and energetic. She would take it slow and calmly on most roads but if a long, straight stretch appeared, her foot went flat to the floor as she simultaneously grinned.

I'm not going to lie, I find it hot.

We engaged in a normal, getting to know each other style of conversation for the next 20 minutes as she drove, every so often flicking her head to look at me before returning her focus onto the road.

After a while, we arrived at my house and Billie neatly parked the car on the driveway. Both of my parents' cars were there, so they were home.

Billie pulled the handbrake and took off her seatbelt. Just as she reached for the door handle I placed a hand on her arm, "Stop, wait."

She rested back into the seat and I pulled my hand away.

"What?" she asked.

"I... um.. what.. I think... um..." I said awkwardly as I pondered the right way to ask.

"Spit it out." she said comfortingly with a laugh, this time resting her hand on mine, holding it.

"What exactly are we now?" I asked uneasily as I stared into her eyes, gripping her hand tightly.

"What do you mean?" she questioned, confused by what I'd said.

"I mean, like... um..." I paused for a moment, thinking of what to say. "Well I like you, and what happened last night, I mean what does that make us now?" I continued.

I can't believe I just spat that out.

I watched as Billie sat silent, her expression didn't really change and her hand stayed wrapped in mine. I couldn't deal with the silence, even though it could only have been a few seconds. I continued without taking the time to think.

"I know it sounds crazy because we've only known each other for less than a week, but I really like you. Last night was special and honestly, I don't want that to be the last." I babbled. "You know, I feel incredible when I'm around you and frankly, I want to be your girlfriend."

Holy fucking shit.

I had closed my eyes whilst saying all of that. I don't want to open them. She's probably disgusted yet, her hand was still in mine.

I cautiously opened my eyes to reveal her smiling, staring right at me.

I didn't say another word. I'll just make things worse if I continue. What happens next is entirely down to her.

"Oh mamas," Billie exclaims, "I wasn't expecting that."

"I'm sorry, it's stupid. I shouldn't have said anything." I backtrack, letting go of her hand and grabbing my wallet and phone, getting ready to leave the car.

"No, no, no." she intervenes, grabbing both of my hands this time. "I like it."

She likes it?

As if it was on cue, the chorus of Girl In Red's 'i wanna be your girlfriend' began to play.

I don't wanna be your friend, I wanna kiss your lips

(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)

I wanna kiss you until I lose my breath

"I think I want to be your girlfriend too." she remarks, leaning in and kissing me.

"You have coffee breath." she laughs as she pulls away, slumping into the seat.
