Takemichi's POV

November 18th 2017

As soon as my vision became clear from the time leap, I pulled out my phone to check the date.

'November 18th 2017 ...'

I smiled, clenching my fist and bringing it down to my side in a little victory moment. I put my phone back into my pants as I got a good look at my surroundings. I was back at the rental shop I had been working at. Everything looked the same as it always had before.

I turned back around to see my manager walking up to me. The sour expression she always held on her face ever so present. Right as I was expected to receive a scolding about doing something wrong as usual, I was instead met with her bowing.

"I apologize for making you wait! It doesn't look like we have what you've requested at this location."

"Excuse me?" I tilted my head, stepping forward a little in confusion.

"I've called other locations and have looked it up in our system but it seems it's been backordered for a bit."

I wasn't even fully listening to what she was saying as I finally took a look at myself. I had an expensive looking watch on, not to mention I was carrying a bag that looked like it was worth more than my apartment. I searched the area for a mirror of any kind, once looking up I could actually spot myself in the security mirror.

My hair was slicked back and longer than I had ever had it before. Not only that but the clothes I was wearing were nothing like I'd normally wear.

"Excuse me? Sir?" I turned back to my manager, well, I guess she wasn't my manager now.

"Don't worry about it, thank you!" I called out, rushing to get out of the store and figure out what exactly was going on now.

As soon as I made it past the sliding doors, I quickly examined my whole self in the window's reflection. Not understanding in the slightest what was going on.

"Damn, could you have taken any longer?" A deep voice behind me boomed out. "Why do you like this place so much?"

It took me a moment to try and recognize the person who stood before me. His long hair, glasses, a scar on his eyebrow. He was apparently familiar with me, but even so I wasn't sure who he was.

"Stop lagging, get in the car." He urged, motioning to the back seat of an expensive looking black car with someone chauffeuring in the front.

I didn't question it as I loaded into the back with him, not sure of the destination we were headed to.

"Hey, sorry... but where are we going exactly?" I asked, a nervous smile on my face in hopes I wouldn't annoy the scary looking guy.

"What? You playin dumb or something man? We're going back to your place." He said, a slight hint of irritation in his voice.

"This is the wrong direction though? My apartment isn't over here..."

"You were the one who wanted to go here. Don't act like I'm making shit up." The guy shook his head.

"Hey, can I have a smoke now?" The driver finally spoke up.

"The fuck?" The guy beside me kicked his foot on the driver's head rest. "Takemichi hates the smell of smoke in cars you jackass. Don't ask dumb questions!"

I didn't feel like I could ask any questions to this guy. I had no clue what was going on, so the most reasonable option would be to get ahold of Naoto and ask what has happened. I pulled out my phone, skimming through the large number of contacts in my phone in search for his name. But he wasn't in there, nowhere in my contacts was the name 'Tachibana'. Suddenly the car came to a halt, throwing me forward.

"Takemichi, what are you doing? Get out already, we are here." The man said.

I followed him out of the car and looked at the building in front of me. Immediately several men who were lined up at my side bowed, greeting me. I couldn't help but jump in surprise.

"You really like to take your time, huh?" A man with black hair and a clean haircut said, a blonde man with long hair stood next to him as they began to talk quietly. It bothered me but I felt like I recognized the pair.

"Yagamishi, you gotta keep him in line or something!" The man with black hair spoke.

My eyes widened as I looked at the guy beside me. No way that was Yamagishi.

"Moron wanted to rent dvd's, not my fault he so slow." Yamagishi spoke.

Finally, things were falling into place, that meant the guy with the clean-cut black hair was Makoto and the long blonde hair was Takuya. Why on earth were these guys still by my side in this future?

"We should get going boss, Number 2's been waiting for longer than he'd probably like." Takuya was kind enough to at least give me somewhat of a smile.

I followed the men up in the elevator. The building was taller than any I've ever been in before, we made it all the way to one of the top floors before getting out. I know I should've looked more deeply into it but at that moment all I could thing was the possibility that I had finally made it to the top. When we made it into what I suppose was my room, there were tons of men, all greeting me and bowing as I entered the room. It felt like I was a celebrity or something.

But one man stood facing the window, looking outside as if he had something on his mind.

"For god's sake, pick up your damn phone sometimes, Takemichy...."

It came from the man who was turned away, and I recognized that voice immediately. He turned around and finally I could find some clarity in that familiar face of Chifuyu.

"Chifuyu!" I wasted no time in running over to his side. He was dressed very well, a mature presence to him.  "What's going on around here?"

"What? What do you mean by that?" He asked.

I guess I shouldn't have expected much from asking that. After all, Naoto was the only other one who knew of my time leaping.

"We're gonna be late if we don't get going. The upper echelon is having a meeting soon." Chifuyu brushed off my apparent weird behavior and started to lead me to where we needed to go.

"Huh? Upper what? What do you mean?" I asked, I didn't doubt that I sounded like a moron now.

Chifuyu turned around to smile at me, his hands stuffed in his pockets.

"Do I need to remind you of who you are? You are Hanagaki Takemichi, the Tokyo Manji Gang's top executive!" He said, sounding proud, maybe something a little different than proud.

In all honestly, I don't think I could quite grasp that concept. I was in such a high and important part of Toman now? But even so, I didn't question Chifuyu any further. Instead, I followed silently behind him until we made our way to the meeting spot.

I couldn't help but gawk at the display before me. There were several men sat around the table, some having others stand behind them. They sat eating the delicious looking gourmet food spread out on the table. I was glad that someone had pulled out a chair for me to sit, I don't doubt I would've stood there in awe for too long otherwise.

I tried my best to at least get a good look at everyone sat around me. Trying to look again for Naoto's number in my contacts just in case. The man who had pulled out the chair for me began to speak, holding a paper in his hand as he spoke.

"First things first, we should discuss the topic of the treasury funds..."

"Actually, what comes first is where the fuck my damn fried rice is." A man beside me spoke up, tapping his plate with his chopsticks as he chewed. "Not only that, but people are still missing, why you startin?"

It took a moment, but that scar on his lip was unmistakable, he was definitely Pah!

"Why don't you shut up? All you're good for is eating anyways so why don't you get going on that?" A tall man spoke as he held his cup up, I could only guess he was the captain from the 5th division. He looked quite different now.

"Mistuya's still missing, isn't he?" The guy spoke, sipping on his drink.

"Is he your favorite or something? More than him is missing, dick." Pah spit out. "I need my fried rice, now. I can't eat without it!"

"You lost a brain cell or somethin?" I turned to see the owner of that voice. His big smile and fluffy but now straightened hair, it was most definitely the 4th division's captain. "It comes last, obviously egg head."

"Eh? You know who you're talkin to?" A man slammed his hand down on the table next to Pah, eyeing the other captain. It was undoubtedly Peh, it didn't look like he changed that much. "Pah is moron! You know he can't think!"

The few just argued over the silly topic, it didn't really look like much had changed with them and it was rather relieving. To think, even now, all these guys are still in Toman.

"Could you guys just shut the hell up for once?" A voice rang out across the table.

I had to see who was talking like this now, he didn't seem familiar. The man had a buzz cut with a shaven in design. He had a noticeable scar across his lips as he tore into the meat he was holding onto. His loud chewing disgusting everyone, I'm sure. He took a tooth pick and began to pick at the food between his teeth.

"Fucking old timers." He said, the insult being very evident to just piss them off.

It took no time for the four across form him to direct their anger towards him.

"You actin all big and tough Shiba? Better watch your mouth before I punch it in!" Peh threatened, pointing an accusing finger at him.

"Now now, remember your place. You know who's putting this food on the table for you guys to devour? The old guys do next to nothing to contribute to the treasury fund after all." A man with short blonde hair and an impressive scar over his eyes spoke. Crossing his fingers together as if he was trying to talk to children in a calm way.

"Hey Inupi, be too honest and you'll make them cry. Do you really want to deal with a bunch of grown babies?" Another man next to 'Inupi' spoke. He had black hair with white stripes in it, his cat like eyes looking like he was ready to pick a fight.

It was weird, I didn't recognize any of those men. Calling the original member's 'old-timers' just made me question things more. I felt Chifuyu tap my chair lightly from behind.

"The fucking ex-Black Dragon members think they are the shit. It's truly annoying to watch." He mumbled, trying to express his irritation to me.

All the while, with every question I had, I just needed to know one important thing. Where on earth was Mikey? As luck would have it, it seemed like somebody read my mind.

"Where's Mikey anyways?" Pah asked.

Shiba continued to shovel food in his mouth like it was his first meal in days. He only stopped for a moment to answer with a snarky comment.

"Tell me why he'd bother to come see your fat ass? You oldies only complain and ask for Mikey when something important comes up. Do you know when to stop being clingy whores? He already had (Y/n) sucking his dick for years, do you really think he needs more?"

Pah stood up, throwing a chair at the wall and smashing it. He stuffed his hands in his pocket, walking behind Shiba and growling as he continued to eat.

"We're taking this outside you snobby little punk! You really think you can bad mouth us? Even stoop as low as to insult (Y/n), you didn't even know the guy, asshole!"

"Reaaaally?" A deep voice boomed, drawing out the word for effect.

"Do you guys think this is a playground or something? We're not at recess." I could recognize those hand tattoos if nothing else, this man was Hanma Shuji.

He cleared his voice, putting his hands down on the table, practically ignoring what had happened before.

"I did not want to go over the treasury funds today. That's not what I had in mind, instead. The IT business Koko runs, Shiba's cover business, and several other businesses run under the organization were searched by cops only three days ago."

The air in the room was already growing tense.

"It's unfortunate to say that there must be what you'd call a 'Judas' amongst our group here." Hanma concluded.

"You tryin to turn us against each other? We might not be the best but none of us would rat the gang out!" Pah exclaimed.

"Think about that statement. If we didn't have a traitor, then why did we all get searched the same day? Explain that." Koko asked.

Only more arguing pursed after that. One little word and it seemed to set off a bomb.

"Well, isn't everyone quite lively now?" A new man had just entered, he stood at my side.

Almost in the blink of an eye, everyone was up and bowing respectfully at the figure. I looked at the man, the voice didn't sound like Mikey, so who could it have been? To my horror I saw the man I wanted to see the least. Next to me was Kisaki, standing proud as ever with a stern look on his face.

"Still? I've told you before. Less formality with me." Kisaki was now smiling. "I know I'm not usually here for these types of meetings. But today I have something important to take care of." He explained.

I couldn't say what exactly, but something was different about Kisaki now. I expected him to sit down and let us continue our meeting. Instead, he looked directly at Chifuyu and I.

"Takemichi and Chifuyu. Could you spare me some of your time? It won't take too long." Kisaki asked, his voice sounding oddly kind compared to what I was used to.

"I, uh." I stood up from my seat, Chifuyu not saying anything behind me, I suppose he was waiting for my answer. "Yeah sure."

Author's note: Forgive me for the odd timeline dates. I've been looking at a timeline sheet while writing and I honestly am not understanding how it is going. If I can figure it out I will fix the dates. Thank you for the understanding!
Side note, the next chapter will be the remainder of this time leap and long in terms of getting through this time leap. Chapter 29 has little extra information. The next arc will start on chapter 30!
