Rin
I opened my eyes or at least I thought I did. It was still dark. I tried to move but could get no higher than standing on my knees. I pushed back the panic and released a slow breath as I let my eyes close again. I slammed my foot against the ground and released a burst of chakra. The image of the room began to form until a jolt shot through my head and I nearly fell forward if something wasn’t holding me back.
“If you try to use chakra you’ll only hurt yourself” I froze then at the sound of the voice.
“Lady Tsunade” I realized.
“I-I’m in the leaf” I breathed and it came back to me then. Shikamaru had caught me, he, he knocked me out and brought me here.
“I’m impressed you still remember the sound of my voice” She said calmly.
“People assume an Uchiha is only as good as their eyes, you’ll find their wrong.” I replied. I released a slow breath then and slammed my foot against the ground again only to have the image blurred as another jolt ran through my head.
“We took every precaution, you won’t be escaping”
“You seem pretty confident” I replied and she laughed slightly.
“Even you’re skill is not great enough for this”
“My brothers won’t be very happy if they find out I’ve been captured”
“Then let them come.” She replied.
“I was surprised though that it was Shikamaru that brought you in, and gave you up so willingly. You must have really done something terrible to make him hate you like that.” I laughed slightly.
“I respect you Lady Tsunade, you have amazing power but for the Hokage you’re pretty stupid”
“What makes you say that?” She replied and I smirked at the anger in her voice.
“The fact that you think waving Shikamaru in front of my face will make me crack. You’ll have to do better than that.” I groaned slightly when she lifted me by collar.
“I wouldn’t be acting so tough, you’re walking on thin ice Rin.”
“I think I already broke it.” I shot back and flinched when she let me drop to the ground. I heard her footsteps retreating and released a breath when I heard the door close. I sighed as I sat on my legs and tried to focus. I needed to get out of here, and fast.
Kakashi
I hadn’t believed it until I saw her. I couldn’t believe Shikamaru had been the one to turn her in but it was spreading across the village like wild fire. Shikamaru Nara had captured the Uchiha Princess. I looked through the glass as Lady Tsunade left her cell. It wasn’t much of cell, it was more of room. It had everything, double bolted doors, walls lined with metal and Rin was stuck in the middle of it. Her wrists and ankles were bound behind her in chains and an iron rope bound her arms to her sides while chains led from it and bolted to the walls. There were chakra suppressing scrolls on her wrists, ankles and over her eyes that sent jolts of pain through her head if she used chakra. There also weren’t any shadows in the room or even the chance that someone could cast one, lights were set up from every angle and if somehow she got past that there were Anbu on standby with orders to kill her if she tried to escape.
“That little brat” I glanced at Lady Tsunade as she walked into the viewing area. She bit her thumb nail as she stared at Rin who was now sitting on her knees. I wanted to know what she was thinking, how she felt but she kept prefectly still.
“You were fooling yourself if you thought she’d crack so easily. I’m sure the Akatsuki have done worse than we ever could.” I replied and she sighed.
“Everyone has a weakness, there has to be some way to get her to tell us about the Akatsuki, maybe genjutsu”
“You want to use genjutsu against an Uchiha?” I asked and she glanced at me before sighing.
“Well then what do you suggest?” I sighed as I looked back at Rin. I noticed her flinch again as she attempted to use chakra.
“Let Shikamaru talk to her, they were friends once. Maybe he could get something out of her.”
“Alright, but if this doesn’t work I’ll have to get serious.” I glanced at Lady Tsunade as she walked away and released a heavy breath when she was gone. I hit my head against the glass and noticed Rin perk up her head turning to face me. I stared at her for a while until she turned back. I had already tried but couldn’t get information out of Rin and doubted that Shikamaru could either but I was trying to stall. I was worried what Lady Tsunade meant by serious. It was one thing to stand by and watch as she was chained up but there was no way I could hold back if she was being tortured.
Shikamaru
When Asuma Sensei said the Hokage required my presence I didn’t think he had meant this. After helping him stop Naruto, Kiba, Akamaru, Lee and the new guy from fighting he sent me off. I should have guessed by the look in his eye but I had assumed that I would no longer have any part of this.
“She hasn’t spoken too much to anyone, mostly just makes them angry.” Lady Tsunade explained as I followed her down the stairs.
“She can bring out the worst in people” I replied and she nodded as she pushed open a door. I followed behind her and noticed Kakashi sensei who was staring through a sheet of glass. He glanced at me as I stepped beside him and glanced down feeling my stomach churn at the sight. There she was, chained and bound with no way out.
“C’mon she’s not expecting you.” I nodded slightly following Lady Tsunade through another set of doors and down some more stairs until finally we came to a large door. Two Anbu nodded to her and preformed hand signs before touching the door. It took a second but the door slowly slid open. I glanced at Tsunade who nodded and finally I stepped inside, the door closing behind me. I noticed her head tilt up as I walked towards her.
“So they sent you.” She said suddenly and I stopped walking.
“How did you…”
“I’d recognize your footprints anywhere.” She replied.
“I used to think I knew pretty well until well all this” She continued and tried to shrug.
“But three years changes anyone.”
“You brought this on yourself” I replied.
“You could have let me go.” She shot back.
“I let you go once” I tried.
“No that’s you’re problem Shikamaru you can’t let me go, I had to put you under a genjutsu to leave the second time around and I didn’t even tell you the first time. Now here we are again and you turned me in!” She shouted and I stared down at her.
“So what if I can’t let you go, at least someone is willing to fight for you.” I shot back and she fell silent.
“You can fix this Rin all Lady Tsunade wants is information on the Akatsuki and she’ll pardon you. That’s a pretty good deal considering you killed four of her Anbu when you left.” I insisted.
“Pretty good deal? And what you think things we’ll just go back the way they were? I’ll be put under Anbu guard, I won’t be allowed to leave the village for months. I’m not going to live my life as a prisoner”
“Better than as a captive, I’m sure you want to get out of here.” I said trying to smooth out the conversation.
“Oh I will be getting out of here and unless she wants more of her Anbu dead she’ll remove the guard before it happens.” She hissed. I stared at her and knelt down then to her level, I felt her tense when I touched her cheek.
“After all the hell you put me through I still feel bad for this. Troublesome woman.” I let my hand drop as I stared at her.
“Just tell her something Rin, anything. Stop the threats and the lies and living this life and come back to us, to me. Come be happy.” It fell silent then until Rin turned her head from me.
“I can’t” She replied. I sighed then as I stared at her. She really wasn’t going to give me anything. I knew her better than that. Rin never believed she deserved to be happy, she only wanted those around her to be.
“Just consider her it” I told her and leaned forward kissing her cheek. I got up then and walked back to the doors stepping out when they opened. I walked back upstairs where Lady Tsunade and Kakashi waited. They turned when they heard me and I sighed shaking my head.
“Nothing.” I said and Lady Tsunade sighed.
“I didn’t want to have to do this.” She muttered.
“What?” I asked as she turned to the Anbu near the door.
“Bring in Danzo”
